PERFORMANCE: 3 STARS – Lee Samuels & Summer Morton
Unfortunately, neither narrator helped in bringing this story to life for me. Fortunately, I also had the eBook to fall back on. So while my listening experience was not the greatest, my reading experience was!
STORY: 4 STARS - Some of you are not gonna get past the point in the story that you should to understand the story and that’s nobody’s fault really because it had to be told the way it is in order to achieve what I think Elle Kennedy was attempting to achieve. Well, that was wordy! LOL
If you read the first in the series, then you’ve met Gen & Evan, and you should know a bit of not just their history together but as individuals. If you haven’t, it’s fine, because you’ll get everything you need to know about them in the first 30 to 35% of the book. That’s not exactly a blessing, because they’re a little bit toxic in my opinion, and need a lot of growing up in order to not be so readers, you’re gonna have to be patient. If you aren’t, there’s a whole bunch of you that are either gonna give up and/or not be so pleasant in your reviews. *shrug* It is what it is.
If you’re patient and stick to it, you’re going to get a really good story about friendship and bonds, the good and the bad. You’ll get a story of tremendous growth and redemption and opportunity. You’ll get a story of two people that, apart, did better for themselves and their relationship than they ever would have had they not cut the cord when they did. Evan and Gen were meant to be. It was written in the stars; they just had to roam and find their way back before they could align. Elle Kennedy wrote that, and she did it well.
This was an enjoyable audiobook! I loved both narrators - Lee Samuels is always a favorite. I enjoyed the story too - Genevieve and Evan were a lot of fun. I did feel like it dragged a bit but overall I really liked it.
I really tried with this book, But I am under the impression that maybe this series is not for me. There seems to be almost missing pieces to the plot
this book did not work for me. the characters were unlikeable. the story was boring. not for me overall, but it was an easy read!
This is my first book from this author. I thought I would really enjoy it but honestly, I was very annoyed with the characters. I don’t think that the bad girl/ bad boy trope is for me.
I honestly felt that it lacked substance, and yes I know this is book 2 of this series, but it still reads well as a standalone in my opinion. I Don’t think I’ll read, book, one or the rest of the books in the series though.
This was a great book. I do not seeing myself using it for education, but definitely will recommend for those looking for something good to read.
This is one of those books in a series that you need to read the whole series to get the inside jokes to make the book make sense and make it worth reading, in my opinion.
I adored this book! Such a great book about a couple of “bad kids” who grew up and are still learning how to cope with their childhood experiences. They learn how to navigate their lives both together and as individuals.
“change is a choice we make every day, a thousand times a day. We choose to do this one thing better. Then the next. And the next. And the one after that.”
“The best gift we give ourselves is respecting our needs first. Because no one else will.“
“One drink turns to two, and suddenly six drinks later, I wake up in a fire engine half submerged in the YMCA pool with the lights still flashing and a llama treading water.”

I love Elle Kennedy’s books and I am loving this Avalon Bay series! Bad Girl Reputation is a spicy, swoony story about second chances and love that lasts a lifetime. I loved Gen and Evan’s story, and can’t wait to read more in this series! And the audiobook is fantastic!
Had a hard time getting into this storyline and continued having a hard time staying focused while reading. I struggled through, but it wasn't great.
I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
While listening to this, my phone stopped working. Once I received my new phone and downloaded the Netgalley app I lost all my downloaded audiobooks. I was unable to finish. I love this author though and know this wouldn't disappoint.
I love the avalon bay series and this one was so good! I didn't know what to make of Genevieve/Fred at first but by the end I totally loved her and Evan. I loved how their relationship was equal parts sexy and heartfelt. I felt like they really saw each other, and im such a sucker for relationships where the characters grew up together/ first loves.
When Genevieve comes home to Avalon Bay for her funeral, she does not plan on staying, but her dad needs her help with the family business. She has spent the last year in Charleston getting her life together, and she doesn’t want to go back to bad habits - which includes staying away from her on-again, off-again bad boy boyfriend, Evan.
This was okay - it wasn’t my favorite, but I didn’t hate it.
A bit late to the game but I did get the audiobook from my library to catch up on reviews. I am enjoying Avalon Bay and this series! I felt like I wanted a bit more back story here, but I enjoyed our characters and their story. Will keep reading the series.
- Second Chance Romance!
- Explosive Chemistry!
- It's about d*mn time!!!
Elle Kennedy has become a must read/must buy author for me now!
From the minute I heard about Evan & Gen's relationship in the first book, Good Girl Complex, I knew I had to read this one!! I felt as though I connected better with Mac from GGC, but I found pieces of myself where I could relate to Gen. I loved the growth and developement that Evan and Gn both had apart and together in this book. I feel as though the time that they had apart truly benefitted the both of them and showed each other that no matter what had happened in the past or would happen in the future; as long as they leaned on each other and COMMUNICATE then everything will be more than ok! Gen and Evan always were meant to be and they finally were able to work everything out (thank goodness because I yelled at them a few times throughout this book haha)
I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased!
I listened to this one almost immediately after listening to the first book in this series, as I was anxious to get back to Avalon Bay and live in these nostalgic books again. I found myself missing Cooper and Mac, unfortunately, as the whole second-chance love story fell a little flat to me. I really want to keep reading solely to learn more about the hotel - can there be a book about that?
This is the second book in the Avalon Bay series. I was excited to read it, after enjoying the first book in the series. I thought Gen and Evan had really good chemistry, and I enjoyed the second chance romance trope in this book! I also enjoyed the small town beach setting for this book, it’s a favorite of mine! I didn’t love how toxic this book was though. That is what really turned me off from it. I am curious to check out the next book in the series though!
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the Avalon Bay series, focusing on Genevieve and Evan.
The underlying question in this story is what happens when the bad girl and bad boy grow up? While it was entertaining and fun in their youth to smoke, drink, and get in trouble, it’s not so much fun now that they are adults. Their relationship, both past and present, is the main plot line, and throughout the book and many walks down memory lane, it becomes evident how much they have both grown and matured. It is equally as heartwarming to discover that, over the years, they have also realized how in tune with each other they are and that they are meant to be.
This was a great second chance romance, and I can’t wait to read the third book in the series.
This ARC was provided by the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.
This one unfortunately fell really short for me. I really enjoyed the first book and I love a great childhood friends/lovers and a second chance romance. Everything just felt really off this entire book. So many parts had me going, huh? Really enjoyed the dual narration though.
