I didn't love this book despite enjoying many of the author's other novels. The main character was a little too over the top for me and the narrator maybe exacerbated that feeling. While it wasn't a favorite, the storyline was still good and I will continue to read whatever she writes.
Oh this was so good. I love a good second chance romance. I was already interested in Evan's story while reading the first book in this series. He was so broody and I wanted to know who broke his heart. Genevieve was nothing like I expected. She was not as heartless as I first thought from book one. She was going through so much and didn't know how to handle it. She is fun loyal and so sweet. Evan is the swooney guy who would do anything for her. The steam was spicy! I cannot wait to read the next in this series. Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the audio arc in exchange for my honest review.
Elle Kennedy can do no wrong. this sequel was just as good as the first if not better. There is a complex backstory and a a will they won't they relationship. Evan and Genevieve and draw together like magnets and i could not help but be pulled in with them!
We’re back in Avalon Bay, this time for Evan’s story, Cooper’s twin from book one. Reformed bad girl Genevieve (Gen) comes back to town for her mother’s funeral. She ultimately runs into her ex, Evan, who she left behind when she “up and left town” a year ago. Gen is trying to shed her “bad girl reputation” by no longer partying and staying sober. She moves back into her family home and starts to work at the family business.
Just as Evan has finally gotten Gen out of his daily thoughts - here she is again! They were so great together and then she disappeared without a word. Evan is determined to gain her back.
Will his tactics work? Why is she dating someone else? When will she open up to him about why she left town?
Will Gen heal? Will she left Evan back into her life?
Find out in this steamy, second-chance romance.

Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for my review copy. Bad Girl Reputation is out now!
This is the second book in the Avalon bay series. Elle has crafted a second chance romance between Genevieve and Evan when she has to come back into town and help her father’s business definitely going to grab a copy for myself, and to share with a friend. The narration on this book was very enjoyable.
This book just felt heavy to me. I don't know if it was because it starts off at her mom's funeral or just the plot itself, but this wasn't for me. I tried to like the characters but they came off as caricatures.
wow wow wow. just as good as the first book. I really love these characters and the plot of these books. I had no clue where this book was going to go but I was pleasantly surprised.
I love Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series, so I was excited to give this one a try! Ultimately, it wasn’t a match for me. It was a fun listen, but it didn’t capture my attention the same way.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
A great second chance romance! As the plot is slowly set up by learning the backstory of Gen and Evan’s relationship from both perspectives, we can easily see that these flawed characters deserve a second chance at love.
Gen is a tough girl who doesn’t trust easily. She has been through a lot of trauma in her life and is very cautious about who she lets get close to her. Now that she returned to Avalon Bay she is trying hard to shed the bad girl reputation that she earned when she was a teenager. But most of the people in town just see her as trouble and don’t want to give her a second chance. Evan knows she is special and much more than a bad girl, so he is determined to win her back. The chemistry between Gen and Evan is undeniable, there are sparks every time they are near each other.
I enjoyed revisiting Avalon Bay in this second book of the series. But if you haven’t yet read the first book, Good Girl Complex, this one can easily be read as a stand-alone book. I am looking forward to the next installment, The Summer Girl, coming in July 2023!
The narration of this audiobook by Summer Morton and Lee Samuels was very well done. They both have wonderful pacing and did a fabulous job bringing the characters to life.
This is a fantastic book if you’re in the mood for a spicy second chance romance or just looking for the perfect beach read. I highly recommend both books in the Avalon Bay series. I am grateful to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to an audio copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
I enjoyed the first book, in the Avalon Bay series, and was excited too read BAD GIRL REPUTATION, which follows bad girl Genevieve West as she returns home after her Mother's funeral, ready to keep her distance from her ex-boyfriend Evan.
It was a fun read, and I enjoyed the audiobook too, which helped me connect to the characters and storyline.
*many thanks to St Martins and Macmillan Audio for the gifted copy for review
While I really enjoyed the first book in this series, this book was a bit of a let down and not what I was expecting from Elle Kennedy’s writing.
I still think others might enjoy the book and her writing, but this book wasn’t her best in my opinion.
Bad Girl Reputation is the second book in the Avalon Bay series. The writing is consistent with the Good Girl Complex which is interesting, but not exceptional. The characters are developed and their connections are some what attractive, The sexy scenes are descriptive, but not overly steamy.
While I really enjoyed the first book in the Avalon Bay series I think I liked this one better!! I read this a while ago but it’s a great New Adult series following brothers who live and work in their hometown which is a vacation town.
This one is a great second chance romance with reformed bad girl Genevieve returning home for her ex-boyfriend’s funeral. Now that she’s come home to visit she get sucked into helping with her family’s business and might be around longer than she planned.
There is such great chemistry between Genevieve and Evan. Both have changed along since they were originally together but then end up with more in common than they expected.
This was my Elle Kennedy book & though I'm not a very big fan of it but I enjoyed listening to it.❤️ The narration is wonderful & the plot made me want to know what happens next until the end.
Evan & Gen to me seemed to be Soulmates from the very beginning & as Evan said it himself-
"It was a little messed up but it was our language, I was hers & she was mine."
It was beautiful seeing them get back together for good.
I am looking forward to read more work of the author in future.
*Thank you to the author, publisher & netgalley for this arc, in return of an honest review.*
"...a year gone, and I’d finally trained myself to stop thinking about her every time this thing or that reminded me of another time when. So of course, just when I’ve almost got her out of my system, she’s back. A fresh, unfiltered shot straight into my bloodstream when I was damn near clean. Now all I taste are her lips. I feel her nails down my back every night while I’m lying in bed. I wake up hearing her voice. It’s infuriating." Ahhh that sounds of juvenile love. Honestly are these character immature? yes. Are they infuriating? yes. But when you just sit back and accept them for their flaws this becomes so much more enjoyable. This second chance romance gives you all the teenage angst and more.
Great for fans of new adult romance, but nothing that really stood out to me.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy to review.

Did not finish
My apologies for not finishing this book. It didn't appeal to me in its subject and I would prefer to be honest and say I couldn't finish than continue to read it and leave a bad review.
This book felt like watching a messy reality TV show where you are making fun of the drama but also living for it at the same time... sometimes when you're tired of the same perfect characters falling in love you need a messy second chance romance where previously rebellious people work on themselves so they can work on their relationship!
I would recommend this book for anyone who loves steamy scenes and is in need of an easy read!
Thank you to netgally for an eARC of this title in exchange for my honest thoughts.
The narrator is fantastic, she makes you feel like you're in the story. Her pacing is perfect and I don't feel like I'm being "read to". The story itself was pretty good. Small town, second chance romance between two characters with a tumultuous relationship. Reformed bad girl returns home after a family tragedy. Her bad boy ex has ideas of his own to rekindle the relationship. Overall an entertaining audiobook with plenty of steam.
An easy read! Wild drama! Super toxic! Perfect for fans of the After series! I was intrigued to read about these 2 exes because of the first book. They did not disappoint. They were really toxic to each other. Genevieve was trying to improve herself and Evan would just pull her back down thinking it had to be that way. Overall I enjoyed the read. Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen in exchange for a review.
