I was super excited to be back with the gang in Avalon Bay with this second installment. This book follows Evan (Cooper from the first book's twin brother) and Genevieve. In the first book we find out she just left without a goodbye the year before and no one really knew why. When her mother passes away, she returned to the bay for the funeral and to help her family run their business. Evan and Gen have always had a magnetic pull and have a long and wild history. Evan is determined to find out why Gen left without a word and makes a plan to win her back. But Gen is trying to outgrown her bad girl reputation and her and Evan often lead to trouble when they are together. We find out why she left the bay so suddenly and why she is so determined to change everyone's perception of her. Gen starts dating another guy while trying to stay away from Evan and there is no lack of drama here. There is also Rusty, the cop who Gen used to babysit for that seems hellbent on not letting her leave her bad girl image behind. I absolutely hated him. Evan and Gen had a lot of growth in this book and loved all the storylines from the first book continuing on in this book as well. I love a HEA and can't wait to get back to Avalon Bay for the next book. I really love this setting and the history of all the characters. We have a lot to unpack with the rest of the gang in upcoming books.

Genevieve is back in town for her mother's funeral. She has tried to take control over her life and is avoiding her ex boyfriend Evan. But it seems hard to keep away from Evan and a lot seems to have changed in the year she was away. Will Gen be able to stay reformed? What about Evan?

I really enjoyed Good Girl Complex and was looking forward to reading Bad Girl Reputation. There were many things about this one that didn't sit right with me. Why is Genevieve the girl with a bad reputation, when Evan was equally painted with the same brush and did not have any image issues? Why did Gen have to date two guys at the same time? That really sucked. Gen was away for a year, in that period both Gen and Evan were reformed and responsible? Now for the things I liked! I loved their chemistry and attraction. I really liked Gen's family and how supportive Mac is. Evan was also pretty sweet so I don't know why the impression of a bad guy was portrayed!

Unfortunately this book just didn’t do it for me. I’ve loved other book by Elle Kennedy and I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I was surprised when this one fell so short. I didn’t feel myself rooting for Gen and Evan throughout the book and honestly didn’t understand why the kept saying they couldn’t be together. What was holding them back? It made them come across as immature and I didn’t feel like I was reading an adult romance book. I also didn’t understand how the whole ending with the cop was realistic at all! I REALLY wanted to love this one guys! I can see why others might so definitely still give it a try if you liked the first book.

Elle Kennedy does it again. When Genevieve returns to town for her mother's funeral, she tries her best to stay away from her on again off again boyfriend Evan, knowing that if she runs into him again, that she will get caught up in his orbit. However, it is nearly impossible not to run into him in the small Avalon Bay town. Their story is full of passion, love, and even personal growth as they find their way back together. I loved reading and listening Gen and Evan's story, and loved even more that Evan was the one to "fall first' and try to get Gen back however he can.

After the death of her mother, Genevieve moves back to her hometown. Gen and Evan have a complicated on and off relationship. Together they must face their demons and grow from their mistakes. Loved this second chance romance

After reading Good Girl Complex I was prepared to hate Genevieve but that was not the case at all, I actually loved her. The narrator did such an amazing job expressing her emotions and helping the reader really get to know her. I loved this audiobook!

Bad Girl Reputation is the second book in the Avalon Bay series by Elle Kennedy. The bad girl is Genevieve West. Gen was a wild child who made some real mistakes in life. She partied too much. She drank too much and there was one really awful incident that motivated her to skip town. Her boyfriend, Evan, remained in Avalon Bay pining for her and wondering why she left. Part of Gen’s problem was Evan. As a couple, they never could grow up and get their lives together.

Gen’s mom dies and she moves back to help her dad with their family business. She wasn’t close with her mom, but she does love her dad and her five brothers. Evan and Gen are drawn to each other again and immediately. Gen gives in, but then does her best to distance Evan. She has stopped her party hardy lifestyle, quit drinking and doesn’t want to be swept away into a wild romance of late drunken nights.

This series is sweet and easy to read, or in my case, listen to. I liked both Gen and Evan. There’s a big cast of characters and I predict many books in the future around Avalon Bay. I get major Outerbanks vibes when I read these books. There’s the people who live there and then the rich people who visit. There’s some angst, some spice, nothing too over the top. Just a happy, nice romance. Check this one out.

I loved this! I thought it was great! I liked the push and pull. I liked that they both realized it wasn’t because they wanted to be a new version of themselves FOR the OTHER in the end. They wanted to be new versions of themselves FOR THEMSELVES. And that it’s OKAY to make mistakes and grow and that you can grow together and not apart. I loved this.

Thank you to Netgalley and MacMillan Audio for the opportunity to listen and review this advance audiobook for Bad Girl Reputation.

This book had good pacing and the story was interesting enough, but the MALE narrator kept taking me out of the story. The female narrator was excellent and I longed for the chapters she narrated and dreaded the ones the male narrator had. That being said, I did enjoy the story. I will pick this book up when it releases tomorrow, but I can't say I recommend the audio version for the simple fact that the male narration distracted from the story itself. It was a struggle to get through it because of this. 3 out of 5 stars because I liked the plot and the characters were well-developed!

I'm eager to try more books by this author, though!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I really enjoy second chance romance. The writing was good, I liked the overall story. I found a character to hate and I loved how Kennedy made sure he got his just desserts. The spice level didn’t disappoint. The voice narration was well done.

In book two of the Avalon Bay series, Gen returns to town for her mother’s funeral after being gone for a year. She left behind a boyfriend, Evan, without any explanation. Evan is determined to continue their relationship, but Gen has other plans. She escaped town to start over and put her partying and poor decisions behind her; Gen has no plans to stick around apart from helping with the family business.

I rated Bad Girl Reputation a 3.75 out of 5 stars. Overall the storyline was good, but I didn’t feel a strong connection to the characters so I couldn’t give it 4 full stars. I liked that Gen and Evan each had to grow before they could forge a happy and healthy relationship together. There were times I was frustrated with each character, but it was really part of their growing pains and learning. I most enjoyed the last 30% or so because the pace picked up and some interesting things occurred.

Thank you to Net Galley, Macmillan Audio and Elle Kennedy for an advanced audio copy of Bad Girl Reputation.

So this was my first read of the Avalon Bay series and I really enjoyed it. (But it’s not even close to my favorite Elle
Kennedy) I had a bit of a hard time warming up to Gen (maybe that would have been different if I met her in the previous book???) But I did like the whole premise of the story, two somewhat self destructive people finally redeeming themselves (that’s not really the right word but I can’t think of the best way to put it at the moment). I loved Evan’s character from the start but it grew as the book progresses. I will definitely be looking out for the next installment and will most likely go back to book 1 as well.

The audio narration was excellent.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the Avalon Bay Series. I enjoyed this book so much. I did liked it better than Good Girl Complex.

Genevieve returns to her home town for her mothers funeral and she is trying to stay away from her ex boyfriend Evan.

We get to know these characters so much more and we get their relationship history. We get to see how Gen and Evan both feel about each other since this is dual point of view. I really enjoyed Genevieve’s character and her growth. She has a lot of history and wants to be a better person. This book is spicy and I really enjoyed the second chance romance aspect.

Overall I would recommend this book. I listened to it and it was really enjoyable. I especially liked they have a male and female voice for the characters.

Former high school sweethearts Genevieve and Evan have always brought out the best and worst in each other. After a year apart, Gen doesn’t want to fall back into their old routines. Can Evan convince her he’s ready to be the responsible man she needs?

This followup to GOOD GIRL COMPLEX is just as intense and enjoyable. Gen is working to get her life on track, and Evan is a temptation. At first, he’s too hurt by the way she left him to understand her perspective. They have a lot of work to do on themselves and the relationship, and it’s satisfying to see them find their way back together.

The audiobook is entertaining and well-done.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I liked Good Girl Complex and was excited to pick this one up. In my opinion, this is the better of the two!

I appreciated the complex characters and real growth that Evan underwent, particularly in his relationship with his mother. The characters are definitely imperfect and make their fare share of mistakes, but I think it makes them very relatable and likable in many ways.

Overall, a quick read with a little more depth than your typical beach-type read. Actually reminded me a lot of Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover!

We're back in Avalon Bay in Bad Girl Reputation! In book one, Good Girl Complex, we got to know Cooper, one half of the Hartley twins, and his now-girlfriend Mackenzie "Mac" Cabot. In book two, we follow Coop's twin Evan and Genevieve "Gen" West, Evan's "bad girl" ex-girlfriend who left town a year earlier.

Gen turned her life around while she was gone. She got sober, stayed out of trouble, and held down a job. 👏 After returning home to Avalon Bay, Gen knows she needs to keep her distance from "bad boy" Evan. After all, she's a new woman and he's still up to his same old tricks. But the chemistry between the two is one thing that hasn't changed, and Evan is determined to change his ways for another shot with Gen.

Sometimes escaping the past is harder than we think....

💭 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: New Adult is hit or miss for me. I have a hard time relating to much of it (probably because I'm almost 40 😆). But this one was a hit! I actually really enjoy the Avalon Bay series. Like Good Girl Complex, Bad Girl Reputation kept me engaged and invested in the outcome. The characters are flawed but likeable, and the spice was 👌! Definitely recommend for folks who enjoy spicy NA romance.

I read this in two formats: ebook and audiobook. The audiobook was really good!! The narrators, Summer Morton and Lee Samuels, do a fabulous job with their performances.

I'm looking forward to book three!💕

In true Elle Kennedy form, this book gives us the plot right in front, NO NEED TO WAIT! We meet Gen who has been gone for a year, her mom just recently passed and she now has to help her family out with their business, she had a reputation in town for being the bad girl, that when she came back she was a new person. Then she sees her kryptonite Evan, he was her off again on-again boyfriend for some, their families have always been close, and of course there is some unfinished business between them. I liked the spice between them because IT WAS EVERYTHING, I also liked her transformation and not letting her past dictate who she is now. I loved the romance blossoming between them, and how even Evan had to look at himself and also grow up.

Thanks netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

This is Book 2 in a series. I did not read Book 1 and, while it might have given me background on other characters, I don't feel it made a difference and this can definitely be read as a standalone.

Genevieve was a "bad girl" growing up. Anything that made you think "should I do this?" - she did it. She is back in town for her mother's funeral, having left a year ago. Her dad convinces her to stay a while and help out with their family business. She is trying to avoid her ex-boyfriend, Evan, who was her partner in crime growing up. But it's a small town and that's virtually impossible. They obviously still have feelings for each other and can't seem to stay apart.

As for other characters, I loved Mac and Cooper, could not stand Rusty, and found Harrison sweet and kind.

Genevieve and Evan date, but she is also seeing Harrison. She's trying to change her reputation as the bad girl, and I feel like she thought Harrison was beneficial in that. But it is clear her heart is with Evan and I felt bad for Harrison.

Genevieve and Evan had some great banter. Their history is there. Were they annoying at times?
Absolutely! But they do grow during the story and I felt like they are meant to be together.

This was a fun read and I will go back and read Book 1 and defintely continue on with the series.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for my ARC copy in exchange for my honest review, and St. Martin's for a paperback copy, in exchange for my honest review!
