I've read several of Dr. KellyAnn's other books so I knew what the basic premise would be, but I felt this was more in depth and had more recipes than some previous offerings. It definitely has me wanting to do a bone broth reset for sure. I like that she doesn't tell you to never enjoy yourself again but that you do need to eat well 80% of the time. I can get behind that for sure. Trying to 100% not ever have any fin foods sets you up for failure every single time. This program is sustainable.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book title would imply that this book was just about bone broth, but it's actually about how bone broth can be the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. The book also contains other health tips and information as well as recipes. I learned a lot from reading this book.
This is the fourth book on the fabulous Bone Broth Diet by Dr. Kellyann. She pulls together all the latest information on the highly effective use of bone broth as an aid to losing weight, reducing inflammation and just feeling better. The value of this book to the reader who may have seen her onPBS, watched her videos or visited her website is to act as a coach and cheerleader about why this sound and tested approach actually works. In very colloquial style she walks the reader through the necessary steps to making some changes in your diet that will save your life. She also provides good information about the steps of intermittent fasting . Although she has a website and her own branded products that you can purchase Dr. Kellyann provides recipes and a solid plan you can follow at home without spending money on expensive extras. I especially value the footnotes to all the research studies . As a certified naturopathic physician she backs up all her claims.
This is an amazing book full of a ton of information, recipes, examples, and more. She lays out the problems you may be having and how bone broth might help you. And although this is not a cookbook per se, there are quite a few recipes including ones to make your own bone broth - chicken, beef, and fish. And what to do with the broth once you’ve made it. I like how she doesn’t believe in deprivation diets, that you should just choose better food. That w need fresh, organic food and ones with label words we can actually pronounce and understand. We should also reduce sugar, artificial sweeteners, dairy and gluten. She has a lot of recipes for soothing a rough stomach and more.
Recommendation: Definitely recommended, especially if you have stomach issues.
