One of my favorite books! This sampler gives a great taste for the book and makes me want to read it again!
Thank you to the publisher for providing this ARC sample
I’ve always been a massive fan of John Green’s books but this one had to take the cake. The immaculate storytelling and writing style matched with an immensely heartfelt message. Green beautifully portrays that life only gives you one chance and to make the most out of it! What an exceptional read!
John Green books are the books that got me into reading a decade ago and TFIOS is one of the book that left an impact in my life.
to me it’s the perfect YA romance and this sneak peak gives the book justice
I read TFIOS back in 2014 and loved it. As a Dutchie, I really enjoyed the setting in Amsterdam. I cried a lot at the end. Now that I'm older, I do see the criticisms and agree with a few of them but I still think I would enjoy the book if I would read it now.
If you loved the movie, you will also love the book.
CW: Cancer, death
I‘ve really enjoyed this sneak peek. It was easy to read and written so beautifully. I fell in love with both of the main characters right away. This made me want to read the rest of their story.
I want to thank Netgally for providing me with a sampler of The Fault in Our Stars.
I haven't read anything by John Green in many years. Reading this sampler made me realized how much I enjoy Green's writing and makes me want to read the several books I own by him. The Fault in Our Stars is truly a remarkable story. I am glad to have rediscovered my love for John Green.
The book opens up with a Support Group where preteens-teens with cancer meet. The picture that Green creates is eloquent yet simple. His writing is plain yet intricate with metaphors. Hazel's voice is really easy to read which makes for a quick read. The most exciting moment is when we meet Augustus Waters. The banter and easy friendship between our main characters is cute and comical. It is easy to laugh with this book. Sometimes it gets a little too sweet--like bleh sweet. But I think this is a great read for teenagers everywhere.
Pros: The biggest pro is that this is a John Green book! I think I have read all of his books even though YA is not a genre I tend to choose to read. This is the first John Green book I read, and I think it's a quintessential YA book that is a must-read to understand the genre.
Cons: None except it is difficult to start this book and not have the rest to keep reading. Luckily this book is already published so readers who tested and loved the sneak peek can find the book and keep reading.
5 stars for the whole book
This is one of my all time favorite books. It is sweeping and heart breaking and one that everyone should read!!
I loved this sneak peek. I read this book a few years ago, and this chapter sampler reminded me of how much I love this book.! John Green is a brilliant writer. This book is sadder than his other ones, be warned...
