This books uses creative vocabulary that describes
Tahoe. Children can use the terminology to learn the alphabet and new words and phrases.
A fun ABCs of Lake Tahoe goodnight book! I very much enjoyed the book as an adult who loves the outdoors. But I'm not sure how well younger children will understand the references unless they are from the area or visiting. Children will for sure love the simple fun illustrations. Good Night Tahoe would make a perfect Lake Tahoe souvenir.
An alliterated ABC book that combines Nevada tourist attractions with native animals enjoying recreational activities is definitely a unique story. The lines are really pretty clever, such as, “Nighty night, Northstar and the northern flying squirrel napping.” Or “Pleasant dreams, Pope House and the porcupine paddle boarding.” The illustrations are brilliant, with soothing colors and soft edges that are perfect for a relaxing bedtime book, although the animals may make children laugh more than sleep since they are cute as can be.
The book is unusually long for a preschool board-book since it goes through the alphabet but the illustrations and animals should keep the child’s interest. This would be a wonderful book to get prior to going to Nevada or as a souvenir of Nevada.
I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.
“I really like the cat sleeping at the end!” -my six year old
This was very cute and a great fit for kids who love animals!
Thank you Netgalley for the read now opportunity!
Such a cute ABC book about things nearby Tahoe. It was accurate, but really the reader needs to know the area to fully understand it.
An alphabet book about Nevada that is a perfect for read alouds at bed time or a souvenir for kids visiting Tahoe. Beautiful illustrations and funny lines with lots of alliteration. And a book with a vile vacationing is hilarious.
Read this book with a 7 year old who absolutely loved the illustrations. It took them a few pages to notice the alphabet order and once they caught on, they're really enjoyed going through the letters.
It does seem counterproductive to a bed time story to have the kid get excited about so many activities (such as zip lining) right before bed so I would keep this book as a day time reading. Otherwise, I highly recommend.
‘Good Night Tahoe’ is a cute picture book that focuses on alliteration of places and animals. For story time, this books wording might be a little clunky to read out loud, as some of the locations are too long or just odd picks for the flow of the words. For a child who likes animals, though, I think this would be a fun pick, especially if you’re teaching them their ABCs.
Thanks to NetGalley, Beaty Tahoe, and Independent Book Publishers Association for this opportunity to review this ARC.
This is a pretty good book. It does the ABCs which I wasn't expecting. Visually it's gorgeous. I think that illustrations are going to be more the focus with kids. But yeah it's cute. Does the ABC's and has the outdoors. It's specified more in Nevada state. But the cover and the illustrations are really drew me in.
I wasn’t expecting this to be an ABC’s book! Pretty fun alliteration and tons of new animals to teach my daughter about. I enjoyed the artwork and so did my kiddo!
This is a sweet bedtime board book showcasing adorable baby animals that are having the time of their lives in and around a beautiful place named Tahoe.
Talented author Kevin Sullivan and accomplished illustrator Michael Furuya partner up using alliterations and beautiful illustrations that introduce kids to local animals as they enjoy fun recreational activities.
The book is both fun and educational. It gives kids a glimpse of the beauty of Lake Tahoe plus a very unique way to learn the alphabet.
Sullivan hopes to inspire families to share books together while providing an educational component on sustaining the land we now love, and for future generations. I love the book, learned a lot myself, and hopefully I can visit Tahoe myself to see these wonderful animals up-close and personal. The illustrations are exceptional and kids will love them. I highly recommend " Good Night Tahoe" .
I was unsure at first but I ended up loving it! Even though this book is focused on Lake Tahoe it was still a lot of fun and cool to see what’s native to the area. The pictures were fantastic! The only thing I wish was there be a final rhyme on the last page.
Thank you NetGalley and Beary Tahoe for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This is a bedtime story that takes little kids for a spin around Lake Tahoe, visiting different places and animals around the region.
Illustrations are colorful and cute.
Living in this region, it is good to see familiar landmarks in the book and appreciate the beauty of this place all over again.
This is a book that will entertain as it informs little minds.
This is a review of the ARC of the book.
What a delightful little book! The illustrations are charming and the 'dialogue' will help children learn their ABC's. A fun book for children!
An alliterative alphabetic good night to areas of the Tahoe region of California and Nevada, that imagines many of the native animal species doing alliterative activities.
This is not your normal nature ABC book. It leans more towards Graeme Base’s Animalia minus all the background hidden pictures. Each animal native to the Tahoe area is imagined in a certain area doing a certain activity, and what activities they are! From weasels waterskiing to trout tubing, they are wildly imaginative, incredibly humorous, and done in a style that’s so cute. Not sure how well this will calm down a child getting ready for bed, as they are likely to be squealing with delight at the fanciful illustrations, but it is undeniably fun. Highly recommended to anyone who likes imaginative and humorous picture books, above average ABC books, the Tahoe area, and superb artwork.
I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This sweet alphabet picture book tells all about the Tahoe area and the animals within it. Each page is dedicated to a letter from the alphabet and includes (where possible) a location from the area (ex. L is for Lake Tahoe, R is for Reno etc) an animal and an activity that can be done there, each starting with the same letter. So for W there is a weasel waterskiing and so on. It is a fun book that will be interesting, especially to tourists with young children wanting a souvenir to remember the area. It is a great bedtime story and with large text, interesting and funny cartoonish pictures, it will definitely be a hit with young children. I would recommend this book to parents of children in the 3-7 age range. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book!
I am a Nana of 5, and as such have littles with a lot of different likes and attitudes. They have their own bookshelf at my house and I try to fill it with a variety so I am always on the lookout for different and fun books.
Good Night Tahoe is a great way to share the alphabet with those littles who also love the outdoors. It's also a good one for the sleepy time routines. I honestly enjoyed this one a lot. Probably more so than my grands will LOL
The illustrations are bright and vivid, with all sorts of animals to introduce to kids. This would be a great one to have in kindergarten classroom libraries. I will be snagging a hard copy for mine.
I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a review copy. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.
Good Night Tahoe is a great bedtime book. I absolutely adored the illustrations. This book is just precious. I loved it and can’t wait to share it with my grandkids. I can use it a teaching tool for not only the alphabet but for animals, landmarks and activities.
A creative alphabet book about the things you can see and do around Tahoe. The cute illustrations just make this book. There are animals experiencing things to do and places to go in the area. Some of the animals you will find are Mountain beaver that mountain bikes or a rafting raccoon. Very creative.
I love the illustrations! A fun book that uses alliteration to teach the alphabet and animals, while exploring the outdoors, is the best. A great bedtime story for you and your little ones!
