“Good Night Tahoe” is a children’s board book full of alliteration, native animals, and landmarks/locations around Lake Tahoe.
All the animals are in the process of winding down for the day, which makes this a great “before bed” book for children as well. Each page also gives the opportunity to practice identifying ABC’s.
This book would be particularly special for children who have been to Lake Tahoe themselves!
Thanks to NetGalley, Beaty Tahoe, and Independent Book Publishers Association for this eARC!
"Good Night Tahoe" is an adorable bedtime book about a bear and the adventures that he had in Tahoe. Each page starts with a different letter in the alphabet. My son loved recognizing the letters, and reading about all the animal adventures.
Thank you to NetGalley, Beary Tahoe, & Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), for the e-ARC to read and review. This is a great bedtime story and ABC educational book all in one. Sometimes alphabet books really phone it in with half the letters but this story takes great care to share informative and alliterative lines for each letter and introduces some awesome animals of the area. Any animal loving little one would enjoy!
This is the cutest little picture book! With an abc structure, each page says goodnight to a different animal living in the Tahoe area, along with a location starting with the same letter. Having lived near Lake Tahoe for many years, I recognized each spot and loved seeing each one illustrated in an adorable and whimsical way.
This is a great book for practicing the alphabet, as well as learning different animals and the geography of Lake Tahoe. It would be perfect for preschool or kinder classrooms, as well as for parents of young children (especially those who live in or want to learn about Northern Nevada/California).
My niece and nephew live in that region, and I definitely plan to buy the book for them once it’s published! Thanks so much to Netgalley for the advanced electronic edition!
I liked that this book threw in an alphabet theme. Nice illustrations too! My kids enjoyed this one.
Super fun childrens book! I think my favorite part is the illustrations, they are wonderfully done! Creative use of the alphabet to spark interest in a geographic location!
My ONLY issue was on X page they spell the word as Xtra instead of the correct way: eXtra which as a teacher bothers me a tinge.
However I can absolutely see this becoming a family favorite bedtime book!

I’m not familiar with the Lake Tahoe area, but I still enjoyed this sweet alphabet book! For someone who just visited the area, this would make a great souvenir. The illustrations in the story are great and I love that it introduces both notable locations and animals from the area. I hope the author creates stories like this for more popular vacation destinations!
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the early e-copy in exchange for an honest review!
This is such an adorable book with lovely colourful illustrations that children will enjoy. It definitely put a smile on my face !
The illustrations were brightly colored and very appealing for infants and young children. The animals and text in order of the alphabet are unique and very well done. The words used in the brief narratives for each animal would be most appropriate for older children. All in all loved the beautiful book for all ages of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and young children.
While this would obviously be a great book for families who live in, or have ties to, the Reno/Tahoe area, it's also a generally appealing alphabet practice book. Each page features a letter, place, animal, and activity using the featured letter so kids have many pathways to make connections and relate to the letter, whether it's love of animals, sports, etc.
The illustrations are vivid, detailed, and super cute! They will engage young readers and hold their attention nicely. The "good night" theme works well for bedtime, of course, but this is lively enough to be used for circle time or general letter instruction during the day as well. This has a lot to recommend it and could be a real hit with preschoolers!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
Super cute animals and their abcs for nighttime, Full of lots of animals, tongue twisters and tourist spots! Read this to my one year old and she was so excited for all the activities the animals were participating in. Great new book for bedtime routine! Her favorite was the Squirrel!
Good Night Tahoe is a cutie animal and places (in Tahoe) book with ABC for the kids. Each page has an animal, city, and alliterations to describe them. The animals come with cool expressions (some outright cheeky and funny).
There isn’t any story except for the list of animals (real and mythical) from A to Z. The illustrations look like digital art and are certainly vibrant. Kids will love to check out the details on each page (though it will extend the bedtime, lol). The book also serves as a short guide to different places you can visit in Tahoe.
To summarize, Good Night Tahoe will be a great choice for bedtime stories and read-aloud sessions with little ones.
I received an ARC from NetGalley, Beary Tahoe, and Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) Members' Titles and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So admittedly I have never actually been to Tahoe— with that said I LOVED this book! The illustrations were adorable and kids would love all the animals and their various activities. I think this book would be perfect for families who have visited (or are going to visit) Lake Tahoe and I wish that more books like this existed for some of my favorite cities! :)
I received and ARC of this title and am providing my honest review here.
This book was just okay. The illustrations are gorgeous, and the book uses alliteration through the names of towns and animals. It goes through the entire alphabet, using the names of specific local areas to begin each letter. Without any context of where or what these local places are (I am not from this area) it is hard to fully get into, but overall it’s a decent bedtime book.
I loved this for a children’s book.
The story was short and would likely be able to keep the attention of children 2-6.
The illustrations were adorable and I loved some of the faces certain animals made, like the bear on the speed boat. It made me laugh.
Perfect bedtime story.
Very cute animal ABC book with emphasis on the Lake Tahoe area. I love the colorful illustrations and the focus on alliteration. I’ve vacationed in Tahoe several times and was happy to see animals in some of my favorite spots. Places like Vikingsholm, Emerald Bay, Incline Village and the ski lifts at Heavenly. I don’t know about a national market but for sure this would be a great learning souvenir for people who live or visit the Tahoe/Reno area. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and Beary Tahoe (Independent Book Publishers Association) for this temporary eARC in exchange for a review.
This is a cute children's book. It's structured like the ABC and every letter of the alphabet gets a location in the Tahoe area, an animal and an activity the animal is doing.
The book is educational and fun. The children can learn the alphabet and also get introduced to the area and the wildlife. All that is supported by really beautiful illustrations which are very colorful and animated.
Thank you to NetGally and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book.
ABCs picture book going around the locales in Tahoe and animals doing activities (owl off-roading). Every letter of the alphabet gets a location, animal, and activity. I love alliteration so I really enjoyed this one.
The illustrations were what. Got me interested and they didn’t disappoint. The different animals were all drawn cute and looked great. The book is structured like the abc with each letter being a different place and animal. I have never been to Tahoe so I didn’t now any of the places but for the people who have been I reckon this would be a cute and fast read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
Tahoe is such a special place and I couldn’t help reading this book with a big smile on my face. Not only does it cover the ABC but introduces wonderful creatures and their hobbies along the way with beautiful artwork throughout.
