Teri Wilson knows how to write a royalty romance! As it was published by Hallmark, it's obviously very much a Hallmark storyline, but I think it worked so well with this story! I loved the first book in this series as well. I would love to see this one turned into a movie!
A fun sweet read! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC.
This book was a cozy read that I finished really fast because honestly who doesn't love a good romance with Royals in it and take place during Christmas time.
4.25/5 stars!
This book was the biggest cup of hot chocolate and fuzzy socks. Quite literally a Hallmark Christmas movie, and just like I eat every movie up, I ate the book right up. The perfect feel good holiday love story.
I love Hallmark Christmas movies and I love Christmas stories.
Oh and I'm definitely a sucker for anything Christmas and royal.
Needless to say, I loved Once Upon a Royal Christmas! Such a fun, festive little romance that mixes royalty and holiday perfectly. Definitely on point with being Hallmark, light and fluffy and of course a happy ending. I enjoyed the party princess mixup and found it different from all the other holiday books I typically read.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and Hallmark Publishing for providing me with an ARC copy.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.
i was introduced the terri wilson’s books after reading “the accidental beauty queen.” i’ve found that her writing reminds me of hallmark movies and “once upon a royal christmas” was no different; i could see the headline now, haha! something about gracie that immediately popped up to me is her passion and dedication for her business. i thought the idea behind the plot was so whimsical - it sucked me right in! and even though nikolas has a tough exterior, it’s clear he wants what’s best for his people. i was so happy when he finally loosened up and realized he could balance running a kingdom with having fun. there’s everything you could look for her a holiday romcom wrapped up in one! i want to be there for san glacera’s ice village, i want to have the kingdom’s famous hot chocolate with nikolas, and i’d love to hear gracie singing in her princess snowflake gown!
this was simply a joy to read! however i found their initial interactions to be a bit cheesy. if i met royalty on accident, i’d also freak out like gracie, but i felt that the shock was repeated more than it was needed to. nikolas also makes it clear too many times that he can’t be seen with a party princess in the long-run. the ending also felt quite rushed and i would have loved to seen it given as much detail as the rest of the novel. on a final note, i thought nikolas’s sister was such a fund side character - their romance wouldn’t have been possible without her curiosity and (slightly persistent) nagging. i would love to see more of her in the future!
Great standalone holiday read. I enjoyed the characters - Prince Nicholas and Princess Snowflake are a sweet couple navigating through misconceptions, awkward encounters. Eventually they find their own happily ever after. Reminded me of a Hallmark movie.
It’s a Hallmark Christmas story so I feel like that explains it in itself. It’s a bit cheesy and too good to be true and heartfelt and warm all rolled into one. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review
Great cute Christmas romance that felt like a warm cup of hot cocoa on a winter’s day!
So charming and just the right amount of Roman tic moments that truly made it feel real!
I knew this was going to be the perfect holiday romance before I even started. Hallmark has my heart when it comes to books and movies. If you are looking for a sweet happy ever after with holiday cheer thrown in this is your book.
You better know I was already a sucker for this one from the start with that gold Hallmark sticker on it! Another Christmas book giving me all the Hallmark Christmas Movie vibes! Meet cutes, check. Meeting her prince charming, check. It has all the cheesy Hallmark aspects that we know and love in our Christmas feel good movies all in a book! I absolutely loved all of it! Not to mention the extremely nice touch with the added Hot Chocolate Recipe!
This was the warm, fuzzy Hallmark type read that I needed!
The books follows the story of Gracie, the Snowflake Princess, who runs her own princess party business. After being rejected for a business loan she is entered into a contest run by San Glacera’s tourism board. She wins the contest and as such has to travel to San Glacera and help promote tourism in order to receive the $30,000 prize money. When she arrives she meets who she believes to be the Prince Charming who will act with her - but it’s actually Prince Nikolas! And boy is he a grump!
The writing is charming and full of Christmas magic and warm fuzzy feelings. The plot doesn’t break any molds but it’s still very enjoyable and fun to read. The grumpy/sunshine dynamic is in full swing in this novel! It was very fun watching the pair grow closer together as the book goes on!
I don’t normally read Christmas novels outside of the Christmas season but maybe I should more often. This book filled me with joy and I truly enjoyed it. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who loves a cute royal romance and Christmas settings!
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review!
This was an warm and fuzzy tale and just an overall cute book that gave me all the feels. I really enjoyed it and recommend it to everyone. so grab a warm blanket and hot cup of coffee and prepare to swoon at the sweetness of this story.
Gracie is a Princess Snowflakes who dress up as princesses and other characters for party and openings. All her application for loan to expand her business was rejected as Bank doesn’t see her business prospects. Her business partner entered her for a contest and the winner will win $30k, the exact amount that she needs for her business. And she indeed won the contest and now, she have to travel to the Royal Palace in San Glacera to help with their winter festival. When she arrives, she met Prince Nikolas, the heir to the throne, who come across as a grumpy.
It is a light, entertaining and predictable story with a twist on the Cinderella theme. I love Gracie and Nikolas’ characters. They are so different in their background but yet similar at the same time. I enjoyed reading their relationshipThere were many heart warming moments that make me smile. Overall it is a sweet love story to me.

I smiled my way through Once Upon a Royal Christmas and enjoyed every single cheesy, over-the-top, funny, frustrating, entertaining moment of my time in this Hallmark romance.
Gracie needs funds for the party planning business she owns with her friend, but no bank is willing to touch this small business with a loan. So, luck would have it that there’s a contest happening with the grand prize being just about what she was hoping for in a business loan. She never expected to actually win but certainly won’t turn down the prize money… it’s the trip to this small country and a very grumpy prince that has her uneasy. But, this is what she does, pretends to be a princess to get the job done. Surely she can put up with one prince who thinks she’s a bit ridiculous for long enough to fulfill her part of this winning moment.
I had fun watching one grumpy prince and one sunshine princess discover that pretend can eventually lead to a love to last a lifetime. This story is everything you’d wish for in a Hallmark movie, a funny, entertaining romance surrounded by the magic of Christmas. I can read a Holiday romance any time of the year; if you can as well then you’ll love Gracie and Nikolas’ romantic adventure… or set it aside until the Christmas season comes around again. Either way, you’ll find a delightful love story to enjoy.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
A sweet and heartwarming holiday romance, perfect for when you're looking for a cozy and escapist romance.
I absolutely love a good heartwarming holiday read. Once Upon A Royal Christmas certainly fit the bill for that. The plot and story was very entertaining and the characters were endearing. It basically a Hallmark movie wrapped up in a lovely book.
This book reads exactly like a Hallmark movie, and I loved it. Cheesy, predictable, but super sweet love story. I loved the setting, the characters…really just all of it. When I read a cheesy Christmas novel, this is exactly what I’m looking for and expecting. Highly recommend for a quick romance read.
A grumpy prince only doing his duty. A fake princess who is sunshine and happiness personified. A mix-up of royal proportion. All combined in a sappy package of holiday cheer.
You have to go into it knowing what you are getting - a fluffy, feel-good holiday romance - but I really enjoyed the heck out of this one. Is it predictable? Definitely. But that doesn’t stop it from being fun.
This was a fun, whimsical read reminiscent of a Hallmark movie. Gracie is a party princess who runs her own party princess business. In an effort to better her business, she has been trying to obtain a loan. When that fails, her friend and business partner signs her up for a contest to help promote San Glacera. Gracie wins the contest and goes to the country to complete her part of the promotions for the contest. She meets Prince Nikolas at one of the street markets and thinks he is the Prince Charming that was hired to accompany her for the festivities. At the same time, Prince Nikolas confuses her for the princess visiting from a neighboring country. When they decide to meet before the first official event, they both quickly realize their mistakes but their perceptions of each other quickly begin to change as they get to know each other better. It was a fun mindless read and a sweet pick-up for when you need a break and just want a happy ending.
