Edge and Skye’s story was fast-paced, plenty of suspense, loads of chemistry! They tried fighting their attraction, but they fall even when rescuing people and searching for killers. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I stayed up way too late trying to finish!

As always, I was immediately sucked into the story in One Last Chance. We met the main characters in book 2 of the series, and I've looked forward to book 3. I have to say, I wondered about the choice of premise since it seems a bit overdone, but I shouldn't have wondered. Martin brings a whole new level to the story adding depth and perspective that is usually lacking. Her characters ring true. Even the secondary characters are well-fleshed out and fun to get to know. I'm hoping for more in this series or at least a new series that highlights some of the characters we meet in One Last Chance. Nicely done. A book to recommend.

This romantic suspense title is the third in the Logans series. We met youngest brother Edge in the previous book. Edge was forced to resign from the Army and is determined to clear his name, bring his crooked superior officer to justice, and resume his career as a Green Beret. While attempting to do this, he is working for Nighthawk Security in Denver.

Skye Delaney also works for Nighthawk Security. She's also former Army, but her career was ended when she encountered an IED which hurt her left leg and left her with disfiguring scars.

Edge and Skye are attracted to each other, but both have reasons not to pursue a relationship. Edge is on his way to somewhere else, and Skye is very sensitive about her scars which, she feels, already cost her a fiancé. But events are such that they are thrown together and can't fight their attraction.

When Skye's stepmother calls her and asks her to check on her younger stepsister Callie, she and Edge head to the Children of the Sun compound to look into things. This very cult-like compound concerns them both. When they are refused entry and can't communicate with Skye's sister, they send in a drone which shows some suspicious activity. With an uninterested sheriff, they decide to rescue Callie on their own.

They get Callie out but not her good friend Lila. A failed drug raid sends the villain's fleeing, taking Callie's friend Lila with them. A promise to Callie keeps Nighthawk Security and especially Edge and Skye searching for the cult leader and his followers.

The story was a fast-paced and exciting one. From a cult compound to the glitter of Las Vegas drug deals to intercepting an illegal arms shipment in Mexico, there is a lot of action. It also had a nice amount of spicy romance. The characters were well-developed and interesting people. I enjoyed it.

Kat Martin’s latest book, One Last Chance is the third in her suspense/romance series Blood Ties. The series gives us the profile of the Logan brothers. They have been in the services, all in one of the Spec Forces. One Last Chance features Edge Logan, the youngest of the brothers. He works for Nighthawk Security in Dever, Colorado. He is a Private Investigator who specializes in finding people. Once a Green Beret, he knows his job and fears no one. In the office, another PI is Skye DeLaney. They worked a big job in Mexico. They both connected but never became involved. Now they sat in the same office, sometimes working together.
Skye’s mother called regarding her missing half-sister, Callie. She hadn’t heard from her for a couple of months, not since Callie called to say she was staying and working in a strange cult called Children of the Sun. She invited Sky and Edge to come for lunch to discuss a possible plan to visit the compound.Thus begins the journey of the duo working, hunting and personally connecting over the next months.
One Last Chance will be published by Kensington Books on November 29, 2022. I appreciate their allowing me to read and review Martin’s latest book via NetGalley. The plot is intense and thrilling. Her suspense books never miss entertaining the reader. This one doesn’t stop right up to the end. The Blood Ties series is great but this one is exceptionally good on its own, a great read for a cold, chilly night. Do Enjoy!

A steamy (eventually) fast paced thriller about two veterans with issues who go after a cult. Edge and Skye (what names!) are out to rescue Skye's sister,, who has come under the influence of a dangerous and charismatic man. This is very trope-y and a tad over the top. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Wasn't for me- I DNF- but I'll bet Martin's fans will be pleased.

Another fun, sexy, dangerous, lust-filled adventure from Kat Martin! This time it’s two former soldiers, both with scars visible and not, tasked with investigating a cult. Naturally, there’s waaaay more going on than anticipated, but our sexy duo is up for the challenge. (Like, literally up. Dude’s hard pretty much the whole book).

One Last Chance is my favorite in the series so far. The female hero is intelligent, brave, and fully capable of doing what is necessary. Edge and Skye have lusted after one another for awhile and its fun to watch them finally act on it. Once I sat down and dove in I could not put it down, this one has a fast paced story line and it keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more. Edge and Skye's book was definitely worth waiting for. I highly recommend it.

There were too much going on in the book. None of the mystery was deep enough to be interesting. I was looking forward to these characters but they didn’t really develop beyond before the series

This series is a great combination of Romance and Thriller. Always lots of action both in the bedroom and out. Each book starts with a minor character from a previous novel and propels them into the spotlight. All are loosely connected, mostly through the Nighthawk Detective Agency located in my hometown of Denver. I love books where I know the setting!

This book has a cult, several rescues, numerous bad guys, lots of firefights, and a hot and heavy romance. I would say that the violence is more graphic than the sex scenes. I continue to love this series and look forward to the next one!

Perfect balance of steamy romance, suspense, action, and of course murder!!

Edge is an ex Green Beret who wants nothing more than to earn that title back. Skye is a wounded veteran who is capable of holding her own. Together they make a perfect pair to try to take down a cult leader when Skye's sister goes MIA. I loved the chemistry between Skye and Edge.

This is the 3rd book in this series and I have enjoyed each one! The main characters change in each book but they all tie together. I really hope this series continues!

Well written book, easy to read and entertaining. The plot isn't very original, however, and the action (outside the bedroom) isn't very professional.

Twice I thought that the book was finished. Nope another bad guy to take down. I loved it. Made it a hard book to put down.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Edge offers to help Skye locate her half sister who is staying at a cult. The more they learn about this cult, the more afraid she gets. I have read most of Kat Martin's books and enjoyed this one too.

Former Green Beret Edge Logan and Skye Delaney both work at Nighthawk Security in Denver and both are trying to fight their attraction. We also meet old friends and catch up with family members. This story has so much evil, angst, mystery some tragedy, some laughs, tears, and lots of steam to get us to their HEA. I can't wait for the next book which I have a feeling will be Trace's story. I would just like to say Kat Martin keeps you on the edge of your seat and never disappoints.

Will they be able to outrun the evil that threatens them in time? Or will they crash and burn, leaving ashes on their path?

This was a well-written story, one that keeps you on the edge of your seat, making you forget that you have to sleep or eat, just wishing for one more chapter. The fast pace storyline is one of Mrs Martin’s signatures and she doesn’t disappoint: when one thing is over and done, two others appear, making the reader wish for another half an hour to keep reading. I’ve been waiting for Edge and Skye’s book since their appearance in the second book of the series (The Last Mile) and I must say, the waiting was worth it. Can’t wait for what comes next!

This is a well-written, entertaining, fast paced, romantic suspense novel. It has a an intelligent, brave, strong, and capable, wounded war hero female protagonist, a likable, former military male protagonist, sizzling chemistry, caring and supportive friends and family, intrigue, twists and turns, and a happily ever after ending. This is the third entry in Ms. Martin's outstanding Blood Ties series, and it can be easily read and enjoyed as a stand alone. I am looking forward to reading the next entry in this series with great anticipation. Ms. Martin never disappoints her readers!

Another good Kat Martin book. Edge Logan worked for Nighthawk Security in Denver. Edge was was a former green beret who left the military before he was ready because of a Major Bradley Markham’s questionable activities that Edge saw but couldn’t prove. Nighthawk Security was run by Conner Delaney another military man. Conner’s sister Skye Delaney also works for the company. Skye got a call from her step mother Margaret regarding Callie her daughter. She joined a group called Children of the Sun which appears to be a cult. The story revolves around the search for Callie, the mystery of the activities of this group Children of the Sun, and some of the other young girls in that group. Good book that I recommend to others. The stories of Kat Martin tie the different people together but the books themselves are each individual stories that stand alone.

If you like high-tension, action, violence, and sex you will probably love One Last Chance by Kat Martin.

When I began to read this, I was sure I'd read it before and almost stopped reading. The violence was unpleasant. I had committed to read this novel so I pressed on.

The story continued onto another plot linked to the first. The whole book flowed this way linking it all together through Edge Logan & Sky Delaney.

I found a few plot parts were a bit of a stretch to believe but overall a good novel for the genre.

This book has some of my favourite characters ever created they are hard, they are tough, and they are loyal as heck. This one has some terrifying, unexpected jaw dropping twists. You have to rush through to find out how it ends. You can not put this down.
