Death by Arts and Crafts is a fun, easy to read cozy mystery. Once again, Abby finds herself in the middle of another murder mystery, no matter how hard she tries to stay out of it. When it involves a friend, how can she not do a little sleuthing? I love the character development of Abby and her friends, including her dog, Zeke and the trouble she inadvertently gets into. The book can be read as a standalone but I recommend all the books in the series. I hope to revisit Snowberry Creek in the future!

This is the sixth book in a series but the first Abby McCree Mystery for me. It is written very well as a stand-alone. I like how the author smoothly wrote this so that I understand who everyone is without her writing background, etc. This is an enjoyable mystery for me. I always like to figure everything out. I take it as a challenge. Alexis Morgan weaves a good web. I couldn't solve the entire thing. Well done.

I like the characters. Abby is obviously in a pattern of changes in her life but is serving her community and friends along the way. Mystery and danger seem to find her, so she has accrued this group of new friends and want to be protectors along the way. Ben and Gage are the featured law officials in this story. Having had law enforcement officers sit around my parents table years ago the friendships in the series are very much like what I remember with my dad's fellow officers. I love that the author pays respect to our military Veterans in her line up of characters. Abby's renter and good friend Tripp is one of the Veterans. I am certainly invited to go back into the five earlier books of the series so I can observe how this magnetic relationship starts.

I want to that the author, publisher and NetGalley for not only my advanced reader's copy of this book but the introduction to a series that I know I will enjoy. This is my own personal opinion. I will be reading more! I enjoyed this particular mystery, the characters, clean language and touch of romance. And there's a wonderful dog too.

Death by Arts and Crafts by Alexis Morgan is the sixth book in the Abby McCree Mystery series. Abby McCree really tried hard to stay out of a murder investigation in this latest book in the series. But what fun would that be for readers? Good thing Abby has her "tenant" Tripp around to help her out and try to keep her safe. Plus it doesn't hurt that she's friends with Detective Ben Earle and Snowberry Creek police chief Gage Logan who are on her side. Once again Abby faces danger and these three always seem to arrive in time to save the day. I really like that Abby has such a nurturing vibe that has her feeding Ben and Gage as they work some difficult cases. I really enjoyed this book!

Death by Arts and Crafts is a great, easy read. Just enough suspense to keep you reading with a side of romance thrown in. The main character had quite a knack for being in the right place at the wrong time. Throw in a lovable dog and this book is the perfect "cozy" read!

Abby McCree finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation when she is helping put on the towns arts and crafts fair. Death by Arts and Crafts is the sixth mystery in the Abby McCree Mystery series, but the first in the series that I have read.

I found this series to have likable characters that are fun to get to know and the perfect mix of cozy mystery and small town feels. I did miss out on a bit of background information because I came into the series late, but overall this was an enjoyable book that I would recommend to cozy mystery fans! I am definitely going to start from the beginning of this series and catch up on what I missed before this mystery.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book!

An OK mystery. The lead character is a bit strident, but I suppose interacting with the police might do that to her personality especially if she is accused of a crime.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

I love this series and Death by Arts and Crafts is the best one yet!. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! The characters are wonderful , the cozy mystery. is intriguing, and the friendships really add to the story.. There is romance (finally) and humor. Abby McCree volunteers for a.lot of local groups and events. In this book, she is the liaison for the city council and the Arts and Crafts Fair It is the.first fairl and they want.Abby to visit a.few others in the area. She makes it a girls weekend and takes her two best friends Bridey.and Dayna. She meets with a few of the vendors who will be at their fair. Shortly after they get back home, Police Chief Gage and Detective Ben show up. There was a murder at one of the festivals they visited and two people are missing. One missing person is a friend of Dayna's which puts Dayna on the suspect list and gets Abby dragged into another murder case. The ending was well done and kept me guessing. This book was hard to put down! I absolutely loved it! #DeathByArtsAndCrafts #NetGalley

3.5*

Abby is helping with her town's inaugural arts and crafts fair by visiting local fairs to gain insights and chat with the vendors before the big weekend. Right before the big day, however, her business card gets found at a murder scene... and Abby all of a sudden is brought into the investigation. Although this was one of the best-written cozies I've read, it didn't give me the same comfort a cozy normally does.

Throughout the entire book, Abby is incredibly reluctant to get involved in the investigation. In fact, multiple times she stops any consideration of the murder or who may have done it to stay out of it. While this may be realistic, it didn't feel very characteristic of a cozy. I don't feel like I got any amateur sleuthing, any deductions, or any fun with the actual mystery. I'll admit that she seems pretty jaded due to past experiences (which I didn't read as this was my entrance into the series) but still... it resulted in a less fun read despite the good writing.

Side note: the amount of dessert these people consume is honestly just impressive. Who eats that many cookies in a day? Or pie? I wish the answer was me.

Abby McCree and the whole town of Snowberry delights me. 'Death by Arts and Crafts,' the latest in Alexis Morgan's series is gripping from the first pages to the end of the book. The mystery is expert and there are plenty of suspects that kept me guessing until the end. The closeness of Abby's community is engaging and the romance is just right. I look forward to further developments in Gage's love life in future offerings. I can't wait for the next one!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Death by Arts and Crafts is a small-town cozy mystery story centered on the shocking murder of a renowned artisan at an arts and crafts fair. Along the way are additional deaths, a seance, a blossoming romance, and a whole lot of thoroughly described snacks and warm drinks. Although this is the sixth book in the series, it works perfectly well as a standalone story. Readers who like a bit of grit or steam in their fiction should probably steer clear -- character's vocabularies don't veer outside of language that would be appropriate in a church setting, and the romance between the main character and her "almost-boyfriend" is entirely chaste. That said, the story and characters are engaging.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book!

Abby McCree and two of her friends are checking out local arts and crafts fairs over the weekend, making it a girl's outing. For her, it's part of her community assignment as liaison for Snowberry Creek's first arts & craft fair. For the others, it's more of a shopping trip.

The last fair they visit poses some particular difficulties. And by the day after they return home, someone is missing, someone is dead, and a fair fortune teller has warned Abbey to stay out of the police investigation. She thinks. Those predictions are so vague, they could mean anything, right?

Do things get better? Yes, and no. More intrigue, more scheming, a pool of blood, and Abby's tenant (and kinda boyfriend) becomes more protective--in a nice way. But that's not the half of it! Hold onto your funnel cakes folks! If these people aren't drinking beverages and eating tasty treats, there is almost non-stop action! Your mission is to keep up with the cast and list of crimes...and identify the killers!

This was an enjoyable fair-time story with some romance (of sorts) on the side, and a lovable slobbery dog.

3.8/5 Stars

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of DEATH BY ARTS AND CRAFTS (Book 6 of the Abby McCree mysteries) by Alexis Morgan in exchange for an honest review. Abby McCree is the newest member of the Snowberry Creek City Council. The city council has tasked Abby with visiting each of the vendors participating in the upcoming craft fair. Abby decides to use this as an opportunity for a girls’ getaway and invites her two best gal-pals to accompany her. When one of those vendors is murdered, gal-pal Dayna becomes the top suspect. So, Abby finds herself, once again, assisting the police in a murder investigation.

I enjoyed the book and really like the series. I recommend this book to fans of cozy murder mysteries featuring town events.

Likable characters, fast paced, with lots and lots of twists and turns and red herrings. Despite her best efforts to stay out of the investigation into the murder of an iron work artist, Abby McCree does seem to have the bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time when a body is discovered. And, to think, it all started with a fun combo work and girl's weekend out with friends Bridey Booker, who is about six months pregnant, and ceramic artist and long time friend Dayna Fisk. It somehow ends with Dayna being a suspect.

I'm not going to detail the plot, it's readily available elsewhere. It was one of those books I found myself reluctant to put down and spent some down time pondering who did it when doing other things. That's when I know a book has hooked me, when it makes me think.

The characters are well-rounded, with strengths and weaknesses, and includes solid friendships with police friends Gage and Ben. Ben is the more intense of the two while Gage is more protective of Abby, although neither is as invested as Tripp, who Abby isn't quite sure to describe as just a good friend or boyfriend. He, like Zeke the part mastiff dog that owns Abby (dog owners know why I use that phrase), has her back.

So, who managed to brutally kill an artist at an arts and crafts fair without being seen or heard? Why is Dayna a suspect? Why did the artist's assistant go missing? How the heck is medium Madame G involved? A seance? Well, that went off the rails quickly. And, oh, where is Dayna's missing business partner? Why....oh, never mind. This one stands on it's own so well that more teasers aren't needed. You'll quickly fall in love with Abby, the quite reluctant sleuth, who even when she isn't trying has the knack of falling into things at the wrong/right time. A fun series. Give it a read.

Thanks #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks for inviting me to Snowberry Creek's first-ever arts and crafts show. I'm looking forward to seeing where the ending takes us with Tripp and Abby.

What an utter disappointment. I was so excited about this book but I refuse to read the mess of a fortune teller.
Ugh

This was another fantastic adventure for Abby McCree! If you haven't checked out this series you need to. The mystery was well though out with all the red herrings. I like the characters relationships with each other. Snowberry Creek’s is hosting its first-ever arts and crafts fair. As a committee member Abby needs to check in with the vendors and take care of any request. When the main vendor is killed before the event Abby works hard to solve the case. When her dear friend is in the police eyes she works to solve the murder.

As a newly appointed city council member, Abby is helping plan a craft festival. She's happy to do this and determined to stay far away from any more murder investigations. But a fortune teller sees a dark path for her and a friend may be in trouble. Another great entry in this series

Although I have only read 2 of her An Abby McCree books (Death by Committee and this one), I didn't feel like I missed much so this one could be read as a standalone. I wasn't a fan of Death by Committee but this book's description sounded like a good read so I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did.

I really enjoyed the fast pace of the book and the surprising twist at the end. This is a cozy mystery at its best with characters that you'd want to hang with. I have to say I'm looking forward to the next one.
