A simple, straightforward book meant to encompass how a person or situation can sometimes have contradictory feelings simultaneously.

My 6 year old said the photos were nice but that she didn't "get it". We were both anticipating something a little bit "more". A short sentence about a page, or about how it can feel to have multiple feelings at once, anything. While I think the idea of the story was something that needs to be talked about with kids, I felt this one just needed a bridge of sorts to pull the message through.

Would recommend as an addition in a classroom or counseling room, where the adult would be explaining it and building a discussion around it.

A great book about opposite emotions and feelings, A Person Can Be is a simple book about how someone can be feeling two things at once. It does not really dive into the feelings, just shows a simple illustration to match the opposing words.

This books is going to be a great addition to my classes bookshelf! The complexities of being more than one “label” is difficult. I like that this book addresses these complexities of being a person in a simple way. The images in the book are diverse and engaging as well. A joy to read.

A picture book with lots of drawings, very few text, and plenty to talk about.

Even as adults, we often have a hard time identifying what and how we feel. Life is not black and white, and we can be many things at the same time. This is a great book to discuss feelings and emotions with your children, and to teach and learn how to talk about them.

The visual world is simple and clean, a perfect match for the copy.
