Full out adorable. If Kristin Chenoweth was a book, it would be this one. Honest, Bright and full of Pink.
It's not a typical book I would pick up but it was definitely a breathe of fresh air. It's easy going and the little tid bits into her life during the pandemic were interesting.

Super quick and easy read. If you are a broadway or Kristin Chenoweth fan, you will enjoy this book. I could hear her reading it to me because the writing is so conversational and easy to follow. Kristin shares stories of her childhood, failures, career, and life that are both heartwarming, encouraging, and funny.

All I really know about this actress is she is was the lead in the musical Wicked and has been in a lot of TV shows and movies.
I figured why not read on of her books after all we have some similar quarks.
The book focus on religion and prayer so if readers are not interested in that part of their life. I suggest you skip this story.
Her thoughts are neither fun or cute and while I agree prayer is a wonderful thing I am not sure it should be shoved down everyone throats.
The Title I'm no Philosopher but I have thoughts. Sounds like it would be fun but instead falls flat for this readers.
Thank you netgalley for a Copy of I'm No Philosopher, But I Got Thoughts

"Aristotle. Socrates. Descartes. And now, Chenoweth. (How about some women, am I right?)

From television actress, Broadway star, and New York Times bestselling author Kristin Chenoweth comes I'm No Philosopher, But I Got Thoughts, an inspiring high-design, colorful book featuring philosophical-ish musings on connection, creativity, loss, love, faith, and closure. Just like Kristin's grandmother inspired her to trust her heart and develop her own belief system, you'll be inspired to develop your own life philosophies, as you journey through some of Kristin's most vulnerable and humorous personal stories, in her constant pursuit to make the most out of life.

In each chapter, you'll find:

Behind-the-scenes stories from Kristin's personal life
High-design, colorful pages of inspirational quotes
Engaging prompts, prayers, and inspiring quotes

Oh, and a warning: There will be Bible verses. There will be f-bombs. Read responsibly.

I'm No Philosopher, But I Got Thoughts is the perfect book to pick up on days when you need an extra shot of encouragement, a little laughter, and a gentle reminder that kindness can take you a long way. This is a great gift to give for birthdays, holidays, graduations, Mother's Day, or for fans of Kristin Chenoweth, known for her Emmy Award-winning role in the ABC hit series Pushing Daisies and Broadway's Wicked."

I adore the cover, Kristen Chenoweth is a true muse!

This was a great read! It was fast, easy and hilarious. So Kristin, too. I could easily picture her saying everything, and I seemed to be able to read it in her voice most of the time! Her thoughts are wonderful and great to live by. Many of her thoughts and "philosophies" are good things to live by. I highly recommend this book. It is fun to read and it leaves you feeling great about yourself!

A Little Bit Wicked is one of my favorite memoirs of the early 2000's. Kristin is so full of life and spunk...and so funny! Having that book really stuck with me all these years I was excited to check out I'm No Philosopher, But I Got Thoughts: Mini Meditations For Saints, Sinners, and the Rest of Us.

I just love the way Kristin tells a story. I love hearing about her Christian upbringing in Oklahoma and how her roots got her to where she is today. I love her wit, positivity, and just overall charm. This book is a mixture of stories from her life and advice for yours. Although it feels a bit all over the place I think that just means you could pick it up and read at any time, skip around a little, and it still make sense. The foreword from Ariana was a nice added bonus. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Celebrate for an ARC. 4 stars.

Thanks to Harper Celebrate for the DRC. This book was nothing like I expected it to be. I feel like the author had some interesting stories to tell and I'd love to know more about her life, but there's just too many pages dedicated to prayers. Too many thoughts, not enough pages to reflect upon them more deeply. And just to be clear, I have nothing against the prayers, I just wanted more stories as well. Maybe it's my mistake, since the book was supposed to be short and fast paced. I know many people prefer it this way. It just doesn't work for me.

Great premise and engaging tale with relatable characters… a little slower-places but this is definitely worth the read, y’all. Pick it up!
Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC opportunity

Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. This was a quick, ok read for me. I was hoping for a little bit more, but thats more an indication of my high expectations starting off my reading in 2023, than it is to do with this book. I have heard that the art throughout is amazing but it didn't quite transfer that well to my Kindle unfortunately so I cannot confirm this. Most of the advice/annecdotes were written in areligious and prayer format, which didn't really appeal to me, there were some written in bullet points and lists also. reading it, it felt a bit random in parts to me, but I did enjoy the parts about Kristin being adopted and her feelings towards her adoptive parents and her birth parents. #netgalley #kristenchenoweth #imnophilosopherbutIgotthoughts #tea_sipping_bookworm #amazonaustralia #kindle #goodreads #litsy #thestorygraph #bookstagram #bookqueen #memoir

This book has a lot of positive vibes and her voice definitely comes through. But honestly it left me wanting more. I really wished for more her story and background.

I....was a fan of Kristin Chenoweth before reading this book. I'm not so sure I am now, though? Not because she's a "bad person" or exposed anything inherently wrong about her character, but I feel like I didn't understand the point of this book or some of her ramblings. It was chaotic and confusing, and I didn't feel like I understood or knew her better like I usually do after reading celebrity memoirs. I haven't read her first one, and I'm wondering if that was the issue? I may give it a try, but I am on the fence after reading this one.

I snagged this because I love Kristin Chenoweth and based on the title I thought this might be a fun read. Other than that I had no expectations! I didn’t realize she already has written another book. This one was filled with anecdotes and bits of wisdom that I thoroughly enjoyed I really would like to read a physical copy, because the eGalley seemed to have messed with the formatting making it hard to follow at times.
I also would like to take notes in the margins of this one. I found myself nodding and hi lighting so many thoughts she shares. It was a good and quick read, and I will likely purchase the physical copy.

Kristin as always is a fun voice to hear from and as a life long Wicked / Broadway fan, I'll be interested in hearing her thoughts for years to come

I was expecting a quirky cute funny book but definitely didn’t feel like that’s what I got. Between the pages of different cover art that kept coming up & the overall religious aspect, I just wasn’t a huge fan. I tried my best to get into it and enjoy it, but it just wasn’t for me.

*Thank you #NetGalley & Harper celebrate for providing me with an ARC of #ImNoPhilosopherButIGotThoughts for my honest review*

Cheno holds a special place in my heart - during the early 2000's when I fully embraced musical theater, Wicked was her role and I became an instant fan. I have her autobiography and I plan on reading it soon after finishing this book.

This book while cute, adorable, and ever so kind... doesn't really have much to give. It's more of a series of thoughts / feelings that she has about certain topics and approaches it in a self-help manner.

I guess I don't know why this was a book, but seeing that it was written during a time of COVID lockdown, her kindness and empathy for others fueled her need to write a book.

In between her self-help / thoughts she talks about personal bits such as her engagement to Josh and her reveal on her birth mother / parents.

Overall, if you're a fan of hers you will want to read this book but I don't know if it has any re-readability.

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was excited for this read and the collection of meditations, stories, and quotes. However, the short length of this book created a hodgepodge of ideas that were not connected. I loved hearing about Kristin’s life, and wish the meditations were more closely related with the stories she was sharing.

This was such a fun book! I enjoyed Kristin Chenoweth's previous book and was excited to read this one. The formatting was interesting, some pages were just short prayers, quotes, or meditations. I enjoyed learning more about her and her life. Overall, it was an enjoyable read!

I need to start by saying how much I love and adore Kristin Chenoweth. I had the privilege of meeting her after a show back in 2010 and she is just as pleasant and bubbly and she appears. She took the time to get to have a quick conversation and I adored every second with her. This book does encompass a lot of those quirky and lovable qualities. However, it was really difficult to get past a lot of the fluff. I was hoping for more personal stories that delve into why she feels a specific way about each topic. She even says at one point that that’s a long story that we don’t have time for. Um…yes, I do!!! That’s exactly what I want to read about. I didn’t like the (what felt to me) pointless lists and space to create my own. Felt like a cash-grab, which I hate to say. I adored her first book and even loved her children’s book. This was just not it.

Brava! I love when a star of this magnitude writes with genuine humor and humility, and I get see them as human rather than celebrity. Kristin Chenoweth is relatable on many levels, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.

I requested this book because I've loved Kristin Chenoweth since she played Sally in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (which is referenced in the title of this book!). I knew she was a devout Christian but I wasn't quite expecting all the devotionals. While this book attempts to be inclusive of all faiths, it felt very church-y. Not my cup of tea.
