I was gifted this book as an ARC by Forever Grand Central Publishing in exchange for an honest review.... Thank you!!! I absolutely loved this book!!!
Briana Ortiz is a witty, fun loving, ER doctor that's going through an awful divorce and dealing with her little brother's kidney failure. Jacob Maddox is the hot new doctor in the ER that would give his shirt off his back for anyone, but deals greatly with social anxiety. After a rough few days him and Briana start writing letters to each other. The story revolves around their "fake" relationship to prove to his family that he's over his ex.... who's marrying his brother! She ends up helping him with his anxiety, and he ends up proving to her that MAYBE she could be in a real relationship again.
Abby's books have always sucked me in because of how she ties in real life struggles that everyone can relate to on some level. This book (all her books) does such a good job of pulling you into the minds of the characters and making you feel what they're feeling. You're truly in their world while reading. And just when I thought that was it, this is their happily ever after, BOOM plot twist. The way it all comes together at the end is so perfectly beautiful. You won't regret reading this book!!!

MY HEAAAAART. I can’t take the cuteness. I smiled heavily throughout Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez and felt ALL of the emotions one could feel while reading it.
I only started reading Abby Jimenez this year. I know, I know—insanity. Part of Your World was my favorite novel of hers, but Yours Truly has knocked it out of first place. Jimenez just keeps getting better. Her books are filled with likable, real people, with real situations, and the romance is swoon-worthy. You can tell by the way Jimenez writes that she looks at the people around her and SEES them for who they truly are. Just like Briana does with Jacob in Yours Truly.
Jacob is THE BEST male love interest I’ve seen in her books thus far. An anxiety-ridden doctor with obvious neurodiverent characteristics? One who is actively working on his anxiety and taking care of his mental health? Yes, yes, yes. I love Jacob! He’s quirky and kind and so much more than I’m putting into words right here. This is the tip of the iceberg with this character. And Briana appreciates him for who he is and doesn’t try to change him. She doesn’t make him feel unlovable for qualities that he can’t change.
My only gripe was how long it took Briana to come to terms with the way Jacob felt about her. There’s a bit of miscommunication, but it’s also a good and realistic example of how a previous toxic relationship can affect the way you view yourself and your future relationships. This in no way hampered my overall enjoyment.
There’s less spice in this one than some of her others ones, but the PINING. The pining makes up for it all.
Also, the swearing parrot had me cracking up.
Yours Truly came through Netgalley approval at a time when I’ve been feeling heavy of heart and it lightened up my day. There are few rom-com novels that I go back to reread and I know this one will fall into the reread category. Thank you to @readforeverpub for this early copy!

This book may easily be one of my favorite reads of 2022! I absolutely LOVE Abby’s style of writing. The way she describes the emotions between Jacob and Briana is pure poetry. I loved being able to watch these two characters fall in love and have such an Amazing connection. The plot was amazing and made it so hard to put this one down.
Jacob and Briana are absolutely one of my favorite book couples. Jacob suffers from severe anxiety and it felt like so much care was taken to make sure his anxiety felt real and believable. The way Briana helped him with his anxiety just made me love her more.
Fans of Gray’s Anatomy will want to check this one out! While you don’t need to read Part of Your World first, there are some overlap in characters from that book, so I would highly recommend it.

With every one of Abby’s books I declare the newest to be my favorite. Abby’s books fill you with the warm fuzzies while also hitting big topics. She is an instant read for me. I like to prepare myself and think “it’s okay if this one isn’t a favorite, you can’t win them all.” But friends, Abby just keeps winning. Bri and Jacob’s story had me up at night page turning to find out what happens next, not wanting it to end. This novel had me swooning from the introduction of a warm washcloth. Add in a fun supporting cast of characters from both of their families and it’s a party! I want more from these characters, not in an unfinished story kind of way, I just loved them so dearly. Here’s to hoping Bri and Jacob make a cameo in a future story!

Abby Jimenez crushes it again. I was immediately drawn to Jacob and his daily battle with anxiety. Brianna is the kind of character made with love and compassion, and so much strength. I laughed, I cried. I felt her loss in many ways. But I also felt her hope. The theme that love shows up will stick with me long after I've finished this novel.

I honestly thought this book was great all the way through. Both main characters, who were each dealing with separate issues, were extremely relatable on all fronts. It was great to see a character, especially a male, truly dealing with anxiety and it being developed through the entire book rather than forgotten about once he meets the female main character. I can’t wait to see this book in it’s final form once it’s published!

I loved this book so much! It managed to be both funny and heart warming at the same time. Plus it did a wonderful job describing the ups and downs of waiting for a kidney transplant and how it effects all those around donor and patient.
Dr Ortiz has sworn off men and dating. Her ex-husband manages to break her heart and crush her spirit. Then she meets Dr MAddox and her knight in shining armor. He manages to save Benny’s life and make her believe in love again.
It is so beautiful to watch the fake dating turn into real love. They are so good for each other and help each other through difficult situations. I loved her writing style and how you could visualize each character clearly and how diverse both families were.

Abby Jimenez has done it again. Perfection. Absolute perfection. If you are on the fence about reading this one, just commit. As with her previous novels, Jimenez tackles some hefty issues like divorce, childhood trauma, mental health, and organ donation, which make this story so much more than just a rom-com. She handles these topics with a genuine sensitivity that makes them incredibly relatable and believable in the context of the characters.
Although this is a standalone book, it exists within a universe that includes characters, places and themes that appear in Jimenez’s earlier books (I want to live in that universe). “Yours Truly” has some of the best characters yet. I especially loved the quirky supporting ones like the foul-mouthed Jafar and free-wheeling Grandpa. These pops of fun kept things light during especially tense situations. I found myself laughing out loud while crying a couple of times. If that isn’t the definition of a good book, I don’t know what is.
Thank you to Forever Grand Central Publishing, Estelle and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. Thank you also to Abby Jimenez for another phenomenal story.

"We're all a little broken ... We are a mosaic. We're made up of all those we've met and all the things we've been through. There are parts of us that are colorful and dark and jagged and beautiful. And I love every piece of you. Even the ones you wish didn't exist."
“Love shows up. That’s when you know it’s real.”
**** ALL THE STARS (FOREVER & ALWAYS) ***
Y'ALL ...
Whenever I dive into an Abby Jimenez read, I brace myself for an emotional rollercoaster (I mean this in a great way!), and she never fails to deliver.
Your girl has NO CHILL when it comes to Abby, and YOURS TRULY made for the absolute BEST 40th birthday gift! I spent most of my big day glued to my phone, bingeing this shiny gem, and there's no other way I would have rather spent it!
Bri and Jacob's romance touched my heart and soul. From their very real (and not so cute!) meeting, to the exchanging of letters, to fake dating and the slow burn perfection of enemies - to friends- to - lovers, to meeting each other's families, to Wakan magic, to all of the ups and downs and miscommunications, to the epilogue ... God, I adored this one.
The mental health, chronic illness, and trauma response in Yours Truly was everything, and thank goodness for Jafar and Grandpa, because the comedic relief they provided was not only hilarious, but definitely needed to balance out some of the crying (just a heads up that I'm a VERY EASY CRIER, so take that for what it's worth!) Jacob is one of my very favorite cinnamon roll characters, and while I didn't see as much sass from Bri in this one as I did in POYW, I appreciated the vulnerability and the window into her heart.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that there are some triggers in this one (chronic illness, abandonment, miscarriage, infidelity, anxiety, panic attacks), but know that Abby gently explores these topics with the utmost research, sensitivity, and care. Regardless, read with caution if you feel any of these topics may be difficult for you.
Lastly, thank you so very much to Abby, Estelle, Dana, Netgalley, and the Grand Central/Hachette/Forever family for early access to Yours Truly. I can't express just how thankful I am for the opportunity to read and review this one early, help drum up support and publicity, and to live vicariously through one of the sweetest, most genuine, and wonderful authors and humans in this world. Abby, your love for your readers, characters and animals is so evident in every book you write, and I can't thank you enough for the vulnerability, sensitivity, and heart you pour into each and every one.
Congratulations on your newest book baby! Yours Truly hits shelves in April 2023, so get those pre-orders, library holds, Netgalley requests, and Goodreads TBR adds in because, as always, Abby's books are NOT TO BE MISSED!

I was thrilled to be able to read the advance copy of Yours Truly. Abby Jimenez writes in an engrossing, captivating, hilarious, tender, thoughtful, well-researched and compassionate way. Yours Truly was absolutely un-put-downable. Bravo, Abby! You've hit another home run. <3

Abby Jiminez is a literary genius! I have yet to read a book of hers that isn’t perfection. Yours Truly was an amazing book- it was a total delight and just what I needed! The book had humor and also love. My was immediately drawn in. There are some heavier topics in this book, but Abby handled them perfectly. I feel in love with Bri and Jacob. All the stars for this book!! I enjoyed every page and highly recommend this book to authors!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Thank you to Net Galley and to Forever publishing for a free copy of the ebook so I could write an honest review.
Briana is an ER doctor who is coming out of the worst year of her life. She’s about to finalize her divorce and her brother has chronic kidney disease. Jacob, also an ER doctor, has transferred to a new hospital to avoid working with his ex. After a rough start to their working relationship, he writes a really great apology letter and the two become friends. I don’t want to give too much away but suffice to say there is fake dating aplenty and I AM HERE FOR IT.
I absolutely adored these characters and it was so fun to watch their story unfold. I was crying by chapter 4 and I can’t count the number of times I was laughing out loud.
I have read a lot of books with different takes on mental health. I have never, I repeat, NEVER felt so seen the way I did when Abby describes anxiety spirals. The googling, the extra worries, the extra thoughts that go into making one decision…it’s such a huge relief to see that I am not alone in the way my brain functions.
I also heavily related to Briana’s feelings of helplessness while watching a loved one struggle with a difficult diagnosis. I always love that Abby chooses to cover difficult topics in each of her books and she does it so well! This one is going to be my new favorite.
Everyone should read this one when it releases in April 2023!

Super cute!
Honestly, the whole fake dating trope has been so overdone by this point that I don't feel like these kinds of stories add anything new to the genre, and this plot technically doesn't, but holy smokes. The characters!
I fell head over heels for Jacob. I love a man who is sweet and Jacob is gentleness and kindness and affection personified. And Briana is so fiercely loyal and protective of him. They are seriously a match made in heaven.
So while the plot may not be the most unique thing out there, the genuine characters sure make up for it!

My heart jumped when I saw that I got approved to read this book on NetGalley and I jumped into it right away.
Oh my goodness.... this book... I was always a massive fan of Abby Jimenez and have devoured her previous books but this one is my favorite of them all! I could not get enough of Briana and Jacob! I love a book that can make me feel just what the characters are feeling and have the heart tug of emotion as you get to the book's climax. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. That's all I want from a good book and this book delivered. I felt like I could completely relate to Jacob and his social anxiety. It made me resent my husband a bit for not being as understanding as Briana is. I could also relate to Briana's trust issues. Makes me think maybe it's time to schedule a trip to my local therapist with how much I was able to relate to these characters at times... I will be recommending it to everyone I come across when it comes out next year. My new favorite book!

Yet again again Abby Jimenez delivers another delightfully well written book book that manages to be smart, witty, and swoon worthy. She navigates Jacob’s mental health with poise and dignity showing that it is just a part that makes him who he is, and he is truly spectacular. And how Briana’s experiences have shaped her. Their love story is both hilarious and told with such a sense of grace it would truly be a shame to miss..

An excellent look at mental health and how anxiety and depression can be managed. An excellent choice for our book club. Thank you for the opportunity to read it so I can wholeheartedly recommend.

ARC provided by NetGalley. Hits all the right notes, you cringe, you smile, you cry, and you mostly snort laugh. You can't go wrong with Abby. Highly recommend.

5 stars.
this was a beautiful love story between ER doctors Briana and Jacob. both characters have traumatic backgrounds in life and relationships and struggle to overcome the stress surrounding their trauma response, specifically Briana. an important aspect to this story is the letters these two exchange, especially in the beginning.
I loved both these characters so, so, so much. Jacob is the sweetest, kindest, most cinnamon-roll hero ever. and Briana is a passionate, loving, dedicated heroine. both these lovely characters deserve the love and devotion of each other. my love language is words of affirmation so reading the letters back and forth really spoke to me throughout the book.
I also want to note that both this book and the one before it, Part of Your World, deals with some very serious issues that reflect through the characters trauma response. the representation in both books to how people cope with some of the worst realities of life spoke true to me, and led me to reflect on how I interact with people in my life who I may or may not know have dealt with similar realities.

Briana’s divorce has been a hot freaking mess-he cheated, she did some things, he did some things. All of which, of course, meant love isn’t real. Focusing on her drive to get the ER Chief position at Royaume, she doesn’t expect to be blind sided by the new guy vying for her position. What BS!
Jacob can’t get away from it all- he left his old position for a new one, but the tension just keeps following him. Between his (big) family always being there and all of the drama in his personal life, a change in jobs was a welcome relieve. Until it wasn’t, and all the nurses hated him. What’s adding one more thing to your plate when everything is already falling to the floor?
*potential spoilers from here on*
This was by far my favorite of Abby’s books-which is saying something because I really love them all! I relate to Jacob SO much-his anxiety and almost every though he had in this book has gone through my head, and more than once in my life. His not wanting to be named in the kidney donation was so amazing-if only for the fact that he doesn’t like to be recognized because it’s so difficult for him. I loved how his mom was so open and there for him without being over bearing, and when she said he would be translating his soul-that’s deep! Apart from connecting with Jacob’s thoughts on every dang page, I was cracking up at least once per chapter to the point of my husband asking what was so funny! Briana not seeing how he saw her and pushing him away once she was pregnant ground my gears, but they were SO GOOD until then, so something had to be dramatic. Reading his journal was so perfect to give her what she needed and him being that open was so raw and beautiful. I’m so happy for you, Abby, that you made it through everything as if it were magic! Benny was a wonderful insight to the life that someone could lead when it comes to kidney/renal failure. If I could give ten stars, I would. #abbyjimenez #netgalley #yourstruly

I was first a fan of Abby’s baking, then her social media humor, and from there was led down the journey of her awesome books. As someone so introverted who can’t even order from a drive-thru at fast food restaurants, use drive up windows at pharmacies, banks, etc., and yet still managed to achieve a level of professional success, I identified so tightly with Jacob. I also felt personally connected to Benny as I’ve navigated an autoimmune disease for years.
Despite such serious topics as mental health and organ transplant this story was interwoven with loveable quirky characters, humor and sass! From Brianna’s coworker Hector, her Salvadoran mother, every member of Jacob’s family and their pet Jafar, levity is constantly interwoven to keep this from becoming a Debbie Downer story. I think everyone who reads it will identify with one of the characters, whether it’s “Nick is just like my ex”, “Alexis reminds me of my relationship with my best friend”, or “Grandpa’s just like my Great Uncle Joe!”, that’s what makes this story so good. Everyone finds a connection somewhere and can laugh, cry and cheer their way through the book feeling they are alongside the characters.
