I have really been enjoying Abby Jimenez books since I first picked up 'The Happy Ever After Playlist' (a book that comes with a playlist?! What's not to like?), but 'Yours Truly' has been my absolute favourite one to date.

Jimenez characters are simply amazing. They always feel like realistic people living real lives that are relatable to the lives of the people reading these books. As she's done with previous novels, there is some hard hitting subject matter in 'Yours Truly', but that only adds to the authenticity of the novel. Brianna & Jacob are two amazing main characters that are easy to love and root for in life and love.

Yours Truly is my new favorite romance read. I had to keep slowing myself down because I wanted to linger with these characters; I did not want their story to end! Bri and Jacob were so likeable, each with their own real life issues, hang ups and traumas. I was rooting for them, from antagonistic beginning to swoon-worthy end!

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy of Abby's new book!

WOW! I hope Abby Jimenez realizes how incredibly talented she is as a writer. It is rare that I love every book I have read by an author. Abby's books never disappoint. She does such a great job of making her characters REAL. They have real jobs, real emotions, real struggles, real problems and they are so relatable. She lets you in a little at a time to the character, peeling back layers of their backstory and personality. I read this book in about 2 days and it would have been faster if I wasn't trying to parent two little kids while reading. I snuck in every bit of time I could to read it because I couldn't wait to see what happened. I laughed and cried while reading. Briana and Jacob's relationship was so fun to witness. Bravo, Abby! I am only sad that now that I have read Yours Truly, that I have to wait for her next book. I can't recommend this book and all her other books enough!

Once again, Abby did it! I loved reading from both Bri and Jacobs points of view. I couldn’t wait to finish reading it, but now I’m sad that it’s over. It has all the humor and love that you could want, and now I officially need a Dr. Jacob Maddox in my life.

Abby Jimenez books like chicken soup for soul with a little extra spice that refers the angsty parts! They actually have healing powers, embracing both of your heart and soul and whispering your ear; “ everything is gonna be okay”

As soon as I read the plot about two broken hearted souls’ second chances story that started with enemies to lovers trope mixes with fake dating, I knew I would love this book so much!

Part of your world’s Alexis’ best friend ER doctor Brianna Ortiz finally got her own book.
Brianna is dealing with the shittiest year of hers: her baby brother suffers from autoimmune disease and he urgently needs a kidney transplant. Their father who left them 3 decades ago rejects to help him. None of the family members are the ideal match!

Poor Brianna also finalized her divorce with her cheating husband she’s spent 10 years of her life. The worst part is he’s having a longtime relationship with one of her best friends behind his back!

Speaking about the a.holes ; new charming ER doctor Jacob Maddox who also has another worst kind of relationship experience. His self absorbed, extra energetic girlfriend starts dating with his brother after only three months passed from their breakup! Oh this is not the worst part: she also said yes to marry with him!

Jacob already deals with anxiety issues and he is forced to work this new hospital to stay away from her ex ( ironically she’s going to be part of his family so there’s no way to get rid of her. They’re stuck with each other forever)

The first day at job is truly disastrous for Jacob: he loses 7 patients in one day, earning the grudge of nurses who find him socially awkward. They called him “ Doctor Death” even though he doesn’t have any resemblance with Joshua Jackson!

And a few days later he accidentally achieves to alienate Brianna by making an abrupt comment about her brother’s condition.
Because of his anxiety issues he has hard time to express his true feelings so he decides to pour his feelings into writing, leaving a letter to Brianna.

As soon as Brianna reads it, she realizes she wasn’t fair with him so they continue to write letters for each other and a genuine friendship starts blooming around them.

When Brianna finds out her brother has an anonymous donor for transplant, she cannot be happier! She accidentally finds out the donor is Jacob! She feels extra ashamed to treat him so rude in the beginning of the relationship and for compensation of her mistreat she accepts to fake date him throughout the family gatherings till his ex and his brother’s wedding.

But as they start to spend more time and know each other, both of them realize they cannot fake anymore. But the emotional baggages they have been carrying may be the biggest obstacles against their happily ever after!

I was so close to give five stars to this book! I loved Jacob, her eccentric family, her nosy sisters and his cigarette addict grandfather a lot!

But Brianna made me so pissed off. It was understandable that she had trust issues but she just kept thinking worst of Jacob and compare him with her ex! She took her entire frustration out on him. And this was extremely unfair for sweet Jacob who made so many sacrifices for her! He was so adorable, sweetest human being.

So I cut one star because of extra annoying heroine and giving my four sweet- swoon- angsty-tear jerker- lighthearted stars!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Forever( Grand Central Publishing) for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

This book is a gift. Abby Jimenez never shies away from hard subjects and that doesn't change with Yours Truly. I never imagined seeing people like me in popular books but there's always part of me in her work somehow. In this case it's Jacob, who deals with extreme anxiety. As an autistic adult it was incredible to see someone like me, not only dealing with this condition and being successful, but finding a loving partner that sees and understands. It was a blessing and a privilege to read this book and I can't wait to be able to buy a copy and experience it all over again.

Abby Jimenez is one of my favorites, and Yours Truly did NOT disappoint. This was by far my favorite of hers so far! Briana is facing a lot of disappointments, including a failed engagement, a sick brother, and the sting of her father leaving at a young age. She is in a dark place, and it doesn't look like things will ever improve. Enter Jacob, a new doctor at her hospital, who despite first impressions, has started to endear himself to her. Sprinkle in Jacob's need for a stand-in girlfriend and his willingness to donate his kidney to Bri's brother, and the sparks really start to ignite! Love these characters and the supporting characters so much. They are diverse, funny, and incredibly quirky. Don't sleep on this one, people!!

This is easily one of my favorite Abby Jimenez book! This was such a beautiful love story, I truly felt the characters fall in love with each other! This is a fake dating, friends to lovers story. It also had a slow burn feel to it, which made it that much better! It's one of those books that you don't want to finish but can't stop reading at the same time! On top of how beautiful it was, it also had its funny moments. I found myself chuckling at a lot of what the characters would say. I also loved the hispanic representation. Even though I'm not Salvadoran, I still related to a lot of Briana's culture and her family. Overall, this was just a fantastic read!!

Abby Jimenez is insightful and careful in her research to get character challenges such as anxiety through with proper representation. She gives credit to all the people who contribute, and overall, she brings joy and light to any moment where her book is being read. Daniel is by far my favorite of her male protagonists, which says much when every one of them is incredible in their own way. She nails on the head the wit and interactions between characters while being sure to give all side characters substance without falling into obvious or overused tropes. She balances the best parts of good tropes (Only One Bed, Fake Dating, etc.) very effectively without making it feel trite. This book is a great pick for any romance reader or someone wanting to sink into the beautiful complexities of interpersonal relationships.

Pure Abby magic as always. This book made me laugh and cry and fall in love with the characters over and over. There were points where I wanted to just shake the two main characters, which is how I knew that I was invested in their story. I also love the mixed story lines between this book and Part of Your World. It made me adore and appreciate the characters that much more. I have nothing negative to say. I'm simply obsessed and I'll probably read it several more times. Forever in love with Abby books and super thankful to have had the opportunity to review this one!!

Perfection,

I am so in love with all of ABBY JIMENEZ's characters its become a huge problem. I must express that my love for this book goes beyond these pages. Briana has become quickly one of my favorite people, and Jacob is just a beautiful human who deserves the world. They both somehow find themselves in unlikely situations filled with love, luck, food, and a 3 legged puppy who loves Tom Hanks.

Thank you so much to Net Gallet for approving me for this book. This book is a sequel to "A Part of Your WORLD" which is another fantastic book, so I highly suggest checking that one out too.

Time and time again Abby Jimenez out does herself. The way that Jacob and Brianna are written, and the way that their story is told makes its all feel so real. We really get to see into Jacob's mind as he lives with his anxiety which felt so authentic and well done. I've never met two characters that felt so perfect for each other. Throughout this book the readers could truly see how they were so complementary to one another. Definitely a bit of a slow burn - but we get to see so many moments between them that it keeps you turning the pages. If you love a romance that deals with deeper themes - but still has its light laughable moments this one is for you! Thank you Forever Publishing (looking at you Estelle) and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.

It is one of the best books I have ever read. This book has the best representation of anxiety that I have ever seen. As someone who has social anxiety Abby really made me feel like it was ok and that there will be someone who will understand and appreciate me. It has the perfect amount of both characters perspective and really made me feel like I could relate to both of them. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance. I cannot wait to get a physical copy of this book.

Abby has done it again! I couldn’t put it done once I started reading. This book does a great job of representing the real struggle of anxiety and mental health in everyday life. Jacob is maybe one of my favorite male characters in any book ever.

4.5/5 stars!! Abby Jimenez has done it again!!! Yours Truly follows Briana, Alexis’s best friend from Jimenez’s previous book, Part of Your World. She’s in a difficult stage in her life after going through a difficult divorce and taking care of her younger brother who has chronic kidney disease and needs an organ donor. To top it all off, Dr. Jacob Maddox is her new coworker and they get off to a pretty bad start. After making a poor first impression as a result of his social anxiety, Jacob is determined to make things right by sending Bri a letter, which results in them sending each other letters back and forth and forming an intimate friendship and relationship where they both agree to be harmless to each other after their past trauma.

Jacob is Jimenez’s best fictional man yet, he was so sweet and vulnerable, and I love how he always showed up for Bri. His anxiety was personally very relatable. The mental health representation was overall really well done in this book with Jacob’s social anxiety and his healthy coping skills (medication, journaling, therapy,…), as well as with Bri’s own struggles with her brother’s illness and her trauma from her divorce and miscarriage. I love how Abby Jimenez writes such authentic, flawed characters that go through real-life circumstances that many readers can relate to. This book was just so good, I can’t recommend it enough! Thank you Forever and NetGalley for sending me an ARC!

Tropes: Slow Burn, Workplace, Friends to Lovers, Fake Dating, and Only One Bed.

I have been a fan of Abby Jimenez since her Vageode cake (TM) caused such a kerfuffle on social media. I love her honesty, humor and humility. Yours Truly is her best book by far. I have long followed Abby on Facebook and sometimes Twitter, (I do not do TicTok or Instagram) she often comments how how the writing is going and she was amazed at the length of this book compared to her others. Although the length of the book is not an indicator of its 'goodness' it is readily apparent that she has more fully developed characters in Yours Truly; she examines, in detail, the hows and whys of her main and and auxiliary characters reactions and emotions. Why Bri reacts as she does to the men in her life. that her childhood experience formed her adult expectations. How Jacob's anxiety hinders him in love. Bri can say "I love you." Jacob has difficulty saying those three words. I kept telling Jacob "Just tell her you love her!!"He expresses his love by his actions; his noble and selfless actions.
Abby throws little eggs in her books that relate back to her previous books, and Social media posts (dick switches anyone); as well as hints as to what it to come in her next book or book. This is my favorite Abby book. And I cannot wait for the next one!

Loved this story so much! Briana and Jacob were such amazing characters to get to know, and their story was an incredibly fun read. The mental health challenges were authentic and organic to the story, which isn’t always a given in this genre. I loved how fleshed-out and real all the ancillary characters and settings were!

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC. I will preface to say that I am already a big fan of Abby Jimenez, but I think this is my favorite of her books thus far. As a romance fan who is also a therapist, I think there was a great representation of anxiety and trauma throughout the book. I was invested in the character development and rooting for the main characters to finally get it together and communicate their feelings. It was also fun to get glimpses into the lives of characters from past books.
