Abby Jimenez's books just keeping better, so it's no surprise this is my favorite one yet. Dr. Brianna Ortiz is just divorced from her cheating husband and caring for her brother who is ill with chronic kidney disease. The last thing she needs is the new ER doctor the nurses have nicknamed "Dr. Death" after his terrible first day at his new hospital. But of course Jacob Maddox is not as he first seems, and he just might be the cure Bri's heart needs.

This book was an excellent blend of love, humor, and steam, with some heavier subjects mixed in. Jimenez's story isn't all fluff, and I like the normalization of mental health and health issues prevalent in her stories. This is another winner for sure.

I have loved everything Abby has published so far, and this book was no different. The story line was so well researched and thought out, and I love the tie ins from Part of Your World. This book made me laugh out loud several times! The character development was on point, and I fell in love with Jacob and Bri so quickly. Just after the mid point of the book, I got frustrated with the back and forth between Jacob and Bri, but it wasn’t a major turn off for me. I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone!

Yours Truly follows the story of Briana, who we met in Abby's last book Part of Your World. She's an ER doctor with a brother in renal failure, going through a divorce following infidelity, feeling pretty low. A new doctor, Jacob, comes along and immediately pushes all the wrong buttons. The dual POV gives us insight into his perspective and reveals occasionally debilitating social anxiety. After writing letters to reconcile, we see that they complement each other in a lot of important ways.

Overall, I loved this book. I thought a lot of sensitive issues were handled well, and even though I came to hate those issues when they held the couple back, I certainly understand the artistic choice of including them. It maybe felt a bit long and was definitely more of a slow burn, but it was a treat to see the relationship progress exactly at the pace that Jacob needed. I still wanted to grab Briana by the shoulders and shake the ever-loving crap out of her, except she was responsible for more than a few laugh-out-loud moments, so I guess it evens out.

I was delighted to receive this advance copy from Forever Publishing and Netgalley in exchange for my honest feedback. Thank you!

I absolutely loved this book! All of Abby Jimenez’s books are such great reads and Yours Truly doesn’t disappoint. She creates such interesting and detailed characters in Brianna and Jacob. After getting to know each other, I loved how Brianna always held space for Jacob and was such an advocate for him and his mental health. And Jacob’s family… they seemed like such a fun bunch to be at a party with!

Overall, great chemistry between the main characters and a great storyline with the connection between Jacob and Brianna’s brother.

5 stars. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Abby creates beautifully real, relatable characters & every one of her books are 5 stars for me! Yours Truly was perfect. Perfectly imperfect characters, fun & engaging storyline, purposeful amount of spice (like, give the people what they want but not graphically overboard and unintentional like many other books) and great romance. Already preordered the physical book because I want this one on my shelf, please keep them coming Abby!

This has been my favourite book of Abby’s to date.

It was beautiful. I loved it.

There is nothing that would make it better.

And if I can’t marry a man like Jacob, then I will stay single forever. He has my heart, and I’m so glad that she’s blessed the world with this character.

Abby’s books never disappoint and Yours Truly was another home run. I absolutely loved this book! I read it in two days and would have kept reading if I could have. It was a privilege to watch Briana and Jacob fall in love and help each other overcome their past traumas and insecurities. Such a beautiful story of love!!

I have read all of Abby Jimenez’s books, and believe me when I tell you that she never disappoints! I read this in one sitting, and am in love with Briana and Jacob. she understands him in a way that no woman has ever tried to do in the past. he loves her in a way no man has ever done in the past. this book has friends to lovers and fake dating. it deals with anxiety and chronic illness. I love the personal touch Abby put in this book (as she does in all of her books), and thank you for sharing your story. go read this when it comes out!

As the wife of a big burly man with severe anxiety, I related to this book so much! It even made me stop and think of times I could’ve reacted differently with my husband, like how Briana does for Jacob. Their love story isn’t perfect and pretty like a lot of rom com novels tend to be- it has unexpected twists and turns. I honestly felt like I knew these characters so well and that is a credit to Abby’s writing. She kills it every time!!

I absolutely love this story! Hearing both sides was incredibly fun and satisfying. Both characters were interesting and lovable. The representation in the story is authentic and didn’t feel box checky. Their love story was so wholesome and sweet. But still had some steam, which everyone loves! I could have read 200 more pages about these two! Can’t wait to get a physical copy for my shelf.

Abby Jimenez does it again. This book is absolute gold. I have no idea how she is able to blend relatable characters, amazingly detailed storylines, current trends and jokes, laugh-out-loud banter, and cute animals into every book she writes, but she manages to do it like an absolute queen.

Briana and Jacob's story was simultaneously beautiful and painful. The author weaves a story of loss, betrayal, friendship, trust, and love that is truly magnificent. The issues that both main characters deal with are REAL and deep and they are handled with so much care and so much sensitivity. The depth of not just the main characters, but also every single one of the side characters is stunning. I laughed and I cried. I read parts aloud to my husband. I finished this 400+ page book in 24 hours because it was just. that. good.

I will read every single book that Abby Jimenez writes forever and ever and you should too.

When I received the ARC for Yours Truly I actually squealed out loud!! Abby Jimenez is one of my favourite authors and I am truly honoured to have been able to read it through NetGalley. So thank you to Forever Pub and NetGalley for this ARC you made this book lover very happy.

Abby Jimenez is a master at writing a romance with such complex topics and characters. Somehow she manages to add so many characters, mental health issues, real life issues, twists, turns and a perfect love story with it all somehow not getting jumbled up and chaotic. This story of Jacob and Brianna did not disappoint.
I also want to thank her for the trigger warnings at the beginning of the story. Many authors do not include this information and it was very appreciated as someone who has lost a baby. Helped me brace myself for what I was going to find out in the story and gave me time to empathize with the character also.

The way Abby Jimenez tackled such a complex and misunderstood mental health issue was incredible. Jacob is honestly one of my favourite rom-com males ever!He struggled with his mental health but was still a loving, caring, kind, loyal human who actively worked on himself while giving so much to those around him that he loved.

Brianna was a such a strong, funny, smart and lovable lead. She was facing such hard realities and put off such a hard exterior but I loved that as the story unfolded her walls came down to show how raw and vulnerable she really was. How trauma can rear its ugly hear at anytime when you think you have it all figured out. The way you could actually feel her immense pain by the end was heartbreaking.

Together the chemistry between Jacob and Brianna was giving me BUTTERFLIES!!! I have read so many rom-coms I couldn’t even count at this point and rarely do I get a heart *pitter patter* or butterflies but oooh man. I am a massive sucker for friends to lovers and the friendship between Jacob and Brianna alone was just giving me what I needed. Once the letter writing started I was absolutely all in even if they never got together. I just wanted the best for both in the end!

Don’t even get me started on all of the family members, hospital staff/friends and his dog! All perfection and very single one helped add so much more life and love into the story.

Anyway read this book. Absolutely recommend for any rom-com lover. I am also recommending to read all of her books if you have not already!

I really truly did enjoy this book. I’m starting to love these romances with women who are my age (mid thirties) finding love. There are couple of things I don’t love about the writing (particularly the amount of snorting and blowing out a breath) and now that I’ve mentioned it I bet you won’t be able to un-notice it either) but I get past that for the love story.

Briana and Jacob have a not so meet cute and she accidentally breaks his phone. He ends up telling his family he has a girlfriend, and Briana ends up agreeing to be his fake girlfriend after Jacob is revealed to be a kidney donor for her brother. They fall in love and it’s cute.

I will say - the miscommunication and just not speaking to each other about their worries and feelings does get a little tiresome, but they’re so sweet together and the falling in love is very believable. I also like Jacob’s anxiety being represented here, because I feel very similarly.

Overall, a very cute book with a sweet love story. I’d recommend this one for sure!

It is easy to simply say that Abby Jimenez has done it again and written a great romance with likable characters. This one is more though. Her first 2 books tore your guts out before the HEA but this one calmly and with great sensitivity, humor and verisimilitude shows you how people who have had their guts torn out cope and carry on. Jacob suffers from anxiety and needs to convince his family that he is fine handling the upcoming wedding of his ex-girlfriend to his brother. Briana is coping with betrayal and divorce and a chronically ill brother who is not handling his illness well.  Abby's male characters, while still a little "too good to be true" are not your typical fictional dominering men who swagger through life with aplomb and her women are far from perfect women who haven't a care in the world. Her characters are flawed in the same way you and your friends are, with everyone dealing with their own brand of trauma in their own way. They own up to those flaws and trauma, however (sometimes with a little coaxing) and when necessary they ask for help. In creating these characters Abby not only gives the reader a great story with loads of laughs and tons of "I totally would have said that" moments, but she also gives readers a sense that even if they themselves are flawed, they are understood, deserve happiness and have an important place in both real and fictional worlds. Abby's medical and mental health insight is amazing and she does a great job of normalizing seeking mental health care. She subtlety and gently educates the reader while providing a fast-paced lovely story with characters you want to know, flaws and all.

I will start this by saying that I’ve read all of Abby’s previous books and loved them all and this one didn’t disappoint either! Briana and Jacob were so sweet and perfect together. I saw so much of myself in Jacob. Abby does an amazing job of writing characters who aren’t picture perfect, but who have the most redeeming and lovable qualities.

Abby has done it again! Yours truly had me laughing, crying and then my jaw dropping. Briana is hilarious and has quickly become my favorite heroine and Jacob is the sweetest cinnamon roll book boyfriend, just as Abby promised! And once again Abby found a way to bring real life issues for her characters to tackle is a feasible and respectful manner! I can not wait to read this again!

This was such a sweet book I love the fake dating to real dating trope and how the characters were in their 30s. It was so well written and definitely tugged at my heart strings. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy!

World, welcome to the rave show!

Once you read this book, you won’t shut up.

What’s up: Brianna is an ER doctor, recently divorced. She’s done with man. She’s done with love. She’s going to focus on her job and that’s it. She’s going to for the chief position, because she’s good and she deserves it. But then, new transferred doctor Jacob is also running for the position and he seems to be in an advantageous point. And Brianna can’t help but hate him. Curse all men in this universe.
But then, he writes her a letter. And Jacob is not what he looks like, but he’s everything that’s good in this world (think about anything that makes you smile, that’s Jacob!).
And she replies. And they engage in letter exchange.
Top it off? Brianna’s little brother is sick, he needs a kidney transplant and Jacob is a perfect match.
How can someone not fall in love for this man? It’s impossible. And it is also impossible not to fall in love with him while you fake being his girlfriend in front of his lovely family.

One of the best books ever:
1. Letter exchanging - it is so cute how we first see our characters interact. They are open while writing these letters, you’ll get to know them and realize why they are perfect for each other. Also, it gives a romantic sense of old times.
2. Fake dating - I love this trope, if I can get over the reason they are fake dating. And the reason for fake dating between Brianna and Jacob is so logical and perfect and made sense, it enhanced the entire experience of the book. Also, they are insanely attracted to each other and good friends already when they start dating so it is amazing the progress in this book.
3. Slow burn. Get ready to melt in different emotions throughout the entire book.
4. Jacob. Jacob is my sunbeam. He’s the sweetest hero ever! He has anxiety, which makes him overthink everything and you just want to hug him and take care of him because he’s just sweet and he deserves happiness.
Seriously, Jacob is one of my favorite heroes of all times. The longing he felt for Brianna was so scorching and aching and sweet, I wanted to cry multiple times throughout the book.
5. Brianna. Our character is loyal and funny and outgoing and confident. You believe she has everything but she’s so broken inside, you also want to tuck her in your arms and never let go.

Basically, Abby Jimenez knows how to write her characters with so much depth and live, you’ll connect with them and want to protect them. They are so real and likable and human.

6. The conversations between characters. Abby is a master in writing funny and touching and aching conversations. You’ll laugh one moment, and then you’ll get your heart rip from emotional talking.
7. Sensitive topics. This book deals with plenty of them and Abby wrote them with compassion and respect. It’ll open your eyes and learn to be empathic about different struggles.

Overall, this book was everything, I want to have a physical copy so I could hug it every night. Can’t wait for it to be out in the world and people can read this wonderful book. You’ll be touched and moved.

Open your heart, open your mind and read this.
