I absolutely loved this book. The characters, the story, the question of how it all would end. It was truly perfection. I laughed, I cried and I couldn't put the book down.
Character development was everything you hope for in a book. Abby Jimenez didn't just gloss over the nitty gritty details, she drew such perfect pictures of Briana and Jacob that you felt like you knew them and you were rooting for their happiness. She also drew you into their families and their lives.
This was a perfect book and what I have been hoping to read for a long time.

Yours Truly dabbles with the “old fashioned” romantic meeting modern day romance. I have never felt so connected to a character, much less one of the opposite sex, as much as I did reading this book. Showing mental health struggles of educated, successful individuals is not something that is always portrayed in fictional characters, much less at the level that was accomplished here. Almost everyone today struggles with some form of anxiety, or knows someone close to them that does. While overcoming the obstacles of things many people take for granted, two doctors find comfort in one another’s company. This book blossoms into an amazing love story that had me on the edge of my seat quite regularly. Abby Jimenez has a true gift in her writing, and the way she is able to earnestly connect her characters to her readers is mind blowing.

I absolutely LOVED Yours Truly! I think it's my favorite Abby Jiminez book yet! I absolutely adored Brianna and Jacob. I loved how sensitively Abby dealt with Jacob's anxiety and how she portrayed it. "I will be harmless with you" SWOON! And the Plant Room?? What a dream! I also loved how prominent Alexis and Daniel were. The friendship between Alexis and Brianna is every adult woman's dream. All the stars for this book!!!

How does Abby Jimenez keep doing this? She brings characters with such depth and emotion into focus as protagonists in their own life story. She gives them agency and authenticity and that is why so many readers fall in love with her books. Her humor is top notch and Yours Truly might be her best one yet.

Briana and Jacob's story is everything you would want in a romcom novel and more. It was so refreshing to read a novel that portrays anxiety so realistically and honestly. I don't want to spoil the plot too much, but I will say this: this book is not to be missed.
Yours Truly is funny, at times achingly sad, and at times, brimming with plotlines her readers might face in their daily lives. Abby Jimenez is the rare writer who truly hones their craft with each book she writes, and I cannot wait to read her next book!

Abby Jimenez’s “Yours Truly” is a beautifully written book that tackles hard issues like Jacob’s anxiety and Briana’s trust issues. The characters are well developed and draw you into the story with their differing POV so you feel you’re just a friend in their lives.
I enjoyed the tie ins to Abby’s other books but it’s not a requirement to love this story if you’re starting with this one. You will want to go get her other books and binge read after you finish this one though because her ability to write witty, smart, and humorous dialogue is on point.
Thank you Forever and NetGalley for an arc in exchange for my honest review.

I am a huge fan of Abby Jimenez's style of writing; she pulls such strong emotions from the reader in a way that I have never experienced and this book was no exception. This emotional rom-com was especially near and dear to my heart for multiple reasons.
Jacob’s character suffers from social anxiety, something which I have also struggled with my entire life and I have never seen it so well described and relatable in a book before. I had to keep stopping to re-read and highlight certain passages because it felt like the thoughts were ripped straight from my head, these were things I had only ever thought to myself and to see a character be so relatable and presented in such a positive and endearing light was so validating and emotional (in a good way). I loved the hero of the story being a little awkward and shy while still being confident in what he wanted and who he was, his loud and colourful family was super fun as a side plot as well.
Bri’s character was also extremely relatable, she struggles from trust issues and a lot of her childhood and past experiences shapes how she navigates personal relationships. I think we can all relate to this in one way or another, she does go through a particularly traumatic experience in her past that causes friction in her relationship with Jacob and the way that he handles it is truly heartwarming.
We also meet Bri’s brother, Benny, who is suffering from kidney failure and has fallen into a deep depression. Chronic illness is exhausting, it wears on your body and threatens to drag you down every second that you are not fighting it, seeing Benny fight and make the choice to not let his illness define him was such a bright spot for me.
Now even though this book deals with some pretty heavy mental illness topics, I still firmly believe it is a romantic comedy, the humour that Abby Jimenez brings into these characters is hilarious, only she can make me both laugh out loud while I am still crying from the last chapter.
I usually am not a fan of the "miscommunication" trope; however, Abby Jimenez presented it in such a, again, relatable and raw way, seeing a theme here? I laughed, I cried and I physically felt the heartbreak the characters were experiencing. They were both written as such deeply good people that you just wanted them to be truly happy. For an author to pull such intense emotions out of the reader is truly a gift.
At its core this book is relatable, these characters are flawed and real, the love story isn’t perfect, you want to scream at these characters and shake them for the decisions they are making, it’s raw and authentic and I couldn’t get enough of it.

Thank you Forever and Netgalley for this book. Like all of Abby's books, I could not put this one down. I may have found a new favorite in this wonderful universe she's created.
Briana, first introduced in Part of Your World, is a force to be reckoned. I could not wait for her story, and here it is.
Briana is going through a tough time between her recent divorce and her brother's illness. She then literally runs into Jacob, who is also having a rough patch. There is immediate friction between the two. By way of notes and letters, the two doctors get to know each other and understand what each were experiencing when they first met.

When I found out that I was lucky enough to get an ARC of 'Yours Truly', I burst into tears! I couldn't contain my excitement about reading this book. Thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for access to this ARC. I have read all of Abby Jimenez's books, and I've loved all of them! I think that this one is her best one yet. This book focuses on Brianna Ortiz, who was the best friend character, first introduced in 'Part of Your World'. You can read this book without having read 'Part of Your World', but I would recommend reading that book first. It is awesome, and it's worth your time to invest in the characters backstory.
Brianna is an ER doctor, and she is dealing with the fallout from her divorce from her cheating ex-husband. Brianna meets Jacob Maddox, who is the new doctor at her hospital. They immediately butt heads, but he decides to write her a letter. Through their letters back and forth to each other, they discover that they have more in common than they initially thought. Brianna's brother, Benny, needs a kidney transplant, and Jacob is a perfect match! She's so thankful to Jacob that she offers to be his pretend girlfriend for his brother's wedding, which leads to one of my favorite romance book tropes: being in a pretend relationship that can possibly lead to something more!
Through their fake relationship, they spend so much time together, and they connect on so many levels. Jacob has anxiety, and Brianna is able to understand him and be a calming presence for him. Their dynamic was such a joy to read. I loved reading their letters back and forth to each other, and I loved that each chapter shifted between Brianna and Jacob's perspectives. As their relationship grows, they come to realize that 'love shows up'. This quote from the book is so meaningful and so important.
Abby Jimenez does such a great job of taking a challenging topic, such as anxiety and organ donation, and she weaves it into a charming story of finding love again and taking chances to go out of your comfort zone. Her characters come to live, and I feel like I know them so well! I loved seeing updates about Alexis and Daniel from 'Part of Your World', and I loved being able to see the friendship between Alexis and Brianna continue to thrive. Abby Jimenez knows how to write strong female characters who know their worth, and I really connect with that.
'Yours Truly' is a beautifully written story that will make you laugh, cry, swoon, and cheer. It had a lot of surprises too. I couldn't put the book down. I took it with me to get my haircut, and I took it to work with me! I stayed up late to keep reading, and I finished the book at my desk at work. I plan on rereading this book right away, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well-written romance that will make you believe in the power of love again.

Abby Jimenez is beautiful. Her romances are novels are so much more than that. Connect with her characters in new ways. I cried like a baby. This is one that stays with you forever.

As a huge Abby Jimenez fan, I was absolutely thrilled to read the ARC of Yours Truly. I could not put it down and read it in a day. She delivers another heart and gut-wrenching tale of two damaged people who meet and eventually realize their perfect match in each other. It was frustrating to read through so many misunderstood encounters between Briana and Jacob, but this speaks to the level of emotional connection I had to the characters and their circumstances. As usual, the cast of characters is colorful and hilarious, and the funny/witty banter is my favorite aspect.

Bri is going through a divorce that has made her lose all faith in men, has a brother in desperate need of a kidney, and now has a new coworker competing for the job she's been vying for. Jacob left his job to get away from his ex-girlfriend and brother that have recently started dating, and now he's at a new hospital with new people, and trying to find where he fits in. Jacob has anxiety which makes things that other people do effortlessly, a little more difficult. When he starts writing Briana letters one day, it sparks a beautiful friendship but could it be more?
Abby Jimenez is an auto buy author for me, I have read all of her books and loved every single one. This one is no exception. Jacob is the most cinnamoniest of cinnamon rolls and I loved being able to read his both characters points of view, especially when both of them have so much they're processing in their heads. Bri is hilarious, and she actually had me laughing out loud. I loved her glitter story and her catchphrases that she assigned Jacob. I loved their friendship and how unconditional they love and understood each other, how they were always just spending time to do no harm and be each other's safe space.
Thank you Forever and NetGalley for an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Just. Wow. I don’t even know I know how to begin here.
This book hit home so much more than any of Abby’s other books.
I saw sooo much of myself and my actions in Jacob and his anxiety. It was the first time I truly looked at a character in a book and went, wow, I definitely know that feeling in a nutshell! The way Abby was able to go into detail of the things going through Jacob’s head, and use that to show the reasoning behind his actions, was just so beautiful. I also love the theme of “don’t judge a book by its cover” that comes out clearly in this book.
I am obsessed with Briana and Jacob’s relationship. They both have their hardships, they both have their baggage, ghosts and past to deal with as they move into the future, and they fight to find a way they are able to do that together in the end.
The fact Jacob doesn’t just walk away and give up when things got hard, even though he was dealing with his own internal battles, was truly amazing. I see so much of myself and my partner in Briana and Jacob. The way he is my calm in loud, crazy places that make me anxious. The way my partner will put up with me changing my mind because I need to find somewhere quieter to sit and have lunch, similarly to Briana knowing Jacob would much rather eat in the storage closet with just her than in a busy cafeteria. The little things that we don’t always give the appreciation we should.
I can’t wait to read more about these characters. And I loved getting the little peeks into Alexis and Daniel’s life again too! Will definitely be re-reading this one over and over again!

This was everything. Jacob and Briana have my whole heart. The plot was pretty predictable but the story was executed so well I didn’t even care. The main plot of the book was obvious but was written out in a way I would have never expected. As someone who suffers from anxiety, the portrayal of Jacobs social anxiety was so raw and well represented I loved it. The writing was beautiful and having both povs gave it a different level of depth. The story and characters were so REAL and made me instantly fall in love with them. This book gave fake dating a whole new standard for me and is one of my favorite books I’ve read this year.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I’ve become a big fan of Abby Jimenez, and this book is my favorite so far. There were many times while reading this that I laughed out loud.
Doctors Brianna and Jacob have both suffered difficult relationships that just ended..The thought of meeting someone “not horrible” seems unlikely to both of them, but people find love under the most unusual circumstances.

Yours truly was so good, Abby Jimenez really did amazing with this one per usual.
Yours Truly follows main characters, Briana and Jacob who are both doctors in the same hospital. Jacob has just moved to Briana's hospital to work following a break-up with his now ex-girlfriend dating his brother. At first, Briana hates Jacob because she thinks he is there to steal the post she's running for in the hospital but later gets to know him better and realizes that's not what he wants and that he suffers from social anxiety. They get to know each other more by writing letters to each other and then they start spending time with each other and realize how much they love each others company.
Jacob and Briana were both intriguing and realistic characters, I resonated a lot with Jacob he's such a vulnerable, real, and pure character and I loved him. Briana was also a good well-rounded character that had gone through so much in life and still showed up for the people she loved. Their friendship and love developed in such an organic way that I didn't even mind the slow burn of it. I was okay with the ending and wouldn't mind an extended epilogue for Jacob and Briana.
This story and plot hit every mark that I like in my books.
-It was emotional with both characters having a past that had heartbreak in it, It also had family members with health issues that the main characters have to work through.
-It had funny moments that had me laughing and happy
-It deals with issues surrounding mental health and anxiety
-There were great character interactions and side characters
-It was realistic and relatable.
I'm so excited for everyone to read this book because it is so worth it. Thank you Netgalley and Forever( Grand Central Publishing) for this Arc in exchange for an honest review!

I was so incredibly excited to read this ARC! I haven't yet read Part of Your World (it’s on my shelf and I'm reading it immediately now ) but just the description of this book hooked me immediately. This is one of those books that you don't just read, you experience. Abby's writing literally immersed me into a whole new world and I loved every second of it.
What I loved:
I would give this book 1000 stars if I could. It’s one of those that you stay up way too late reading because it’s just too good to put down. I’ll try to be brief and list some of our top things I loved:
🌟Mental health representation! Jacob deals with anxiety and handles it in a very positive way.
🌟This book has some of the absolute best tropes: fake dating, second chance, friends to lovers, forced proximity
🌟Abby couldn’t have created more likable characters. We loved Brianna’s sass, strength and humor. When she stands up for Jacob, she literally became one of my favorite fictional characters. Jacob… Jacob is a literal dream. He has to be one of the most kind characters I have ever read. The dual POV helps understand these two so much better.
🌟 There are some heavy topics discussed in this book (anxiety, kidney failure, pregnancy loss, adultery, etc) but Abby writes with incredible sensitivity!
🌟This book is a literal hug. It just leaves you feeling warm after you’ve read it.
All in all, we really really loved Yours Truly! If you like a second chance romance with a side of faking dating and friends to lovers, add this one to our list! We promise you’ll love it! ❤️

Thank you to NetGalley, Abby Jimenez, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this ARC.

This was my second book by Abby Jimenez and it was a roller coaster of emotion! This is the story about Brianna and Jacob. They both struggle with some tough issues and at times this book broke my heart. Jacob struggles with anxiety and Brianna is like breath of fresh air to him which I though was incredibly sweet. Jacob is the same thing for Brianna in a different way. I thought this book would be a fluffy read and it was so much more! This story was sweet, heartbreaking, real and I enjoyed every part of it. I received a advanced copy but in no way did it shape my review.

Listen, my only real complaint with any of Abby’s books is that, while always relatable, her characters always want babies, which is not relatable to me. (So, Abby, if you read this, the next cover should be purple and the MC should not want children 😂) But I get that it is relatable to a lot of people, so I will let it slide, mostly due to the fact that I actually laugh out loud at the way her characters speak and think. I always love when authors make nods to characters from past books, like I am seeing an old friend from across the room. And I love a slow burn and a fake-dating trope. And enemies-to-friends-to-lovers? Absolute chefs kiss.
Bri Ortiz is one belt-loop-snagging-on-a-doorknob away from losing it. Her younger brother is in desperate need of a kidney, her soon-to-be-officially-ex-husband cheated on her with her friend, and now the promotion she was destined for is held just out of her reach by the arrival of a new ER doctor who has already earned a reputation for losing seven patients on his first day.
When Dr Death - as her coworkers have unfortunately nicknamed Dr Jacob Maddox - finds himself starting off on the wrong foot with Bri (and the rest of the team), he is desperate to at least apologize. So he writes a letter. And when Bri writes back, it sets off an chain of events that results in two delightful outcomes: one, Bri agreeing to be Jacob’s fake-girlfriend for his brother’s wedding, and two: Jacob learning that he is a perfect match for donating a kidney to Bri’s brother.
Bri is desperate to show Jacob how grateful she is for saving her brother’s life, and Jacob is desperate to not acknowledge it at all. But as the two become closer friends, they begin to find that sometimes in life, you call shots, and sometimes you’re just along for the ride.

I loved this book so much and will always recommend it from now on.
The medical field is dear to my heart and I love reading romances with doctors. Mostly because they always show a real face of it. Doctors are humans with emotions and anxiety and feelings as well, they aren’t robots even if some may deny that.
I haven’t read all of the author’s books but this one is definitely going on my favourite of the year list.
Very grateful to the publisher for this Read Now title
