Honestly, another masterpiece by the literary goddess, Abby Jimenez!! I swear, this woman could write a 1,000 page book and I’d devour it.

Her writing and storytelling is like magic!! And always with the best characters!! Bri and Jacob are such sweet and generous characters!! I just love them so freaking much!! 💛

Abby’s books are not just funny and swoony—they are deep and thought provoking. Yours Truly is definitely that!! I felt what Jacob was feeling on a deep, deep level!! I suffer from severe anxiety and to relate to his character so much, made me love this book that much more!!

Yours Truly is my 2nd favorite Abby Jimenez book. The Friend Zone will always have my heart. PCOS sufferers would understand.

I don’t want to give too much away because this book is so freaking good!! It would be a disservice to spoil it. I ONE-MILLION PERCENT would recommend this to EVERYONE!! I give it a TRILLION stars!! 💛

I was one of the lucky 500 that got auto-approved for the eARC on Netgalley. Thank you Netgalley, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Abby Jimenez for the wonderful opportunity to read and review the eARC early.

Abby Jimenez has become a must read for me. Absolutely amazing at characters, world building, and an emotional story, this book blew my mind and made me wish she wrote a wee bit faster so I could get my hands on more.

Briana is in a tailspin. She is going for an advance at work and it's been thwarted by a new recruit. Her family is in shambles. Her brother is dying and is in need of a kidney. She's in a whirlwind but all that chaos calms when she receives a letter.

I don't want to write too much to give much away, but Jacob, our hero, is amazing. He's earnest, dealing with his own demons, and wants to be accepted in the world so bad. He and Briana are perfect for one another. Each deals with huge issues but it's like the other one calms them. They are eachother's anchors in the storm.

It's adorable. It's funny. I giggled. I swooned. I was so mad at points because c'mon, I could get they needed to be together, why couldn't they? I loved the buildup and the ending is perfect.

Great for anyone, perfect amount of spice, and a delicious pairing makes this a perfect book for me. Bravo!

Every time I read an Abby Jimenez novel, I swear it's my new favorite, and this one is no exception. This book is a perfect balance of humor and serious issues that I feel MANY readers will relate to. I myself was drawn to and saw much of myself in Daniel, the male lead, who suffers from social anxiety. The way the female lead, Brianna, relates to and understands him made me realize things that would make my own life easier. Their love story is humorous, heartbreaking, and relatable all at once. Jimenez weaves multiple serious plot lines together seamlessly with enough heart, soul, and humor to make you not want to put the book down.

Ahhh love it love it love it! Abby Jimenez has such thoughtful writing and definitely does her research before writing certain characters and storylines. I have loved her past books and was so fortunate to read this ARC. Love those cinnamon role characters and how she weaves in laughter. The characters develop throughout the story and I love their love story! Another win!

Thank you NetGalley and Abby Jimenez!

I don’t know how Abby does it, but she guts me nearly every time. HEAP had been my running favorite, then she writes POYW and strips my soul. After finishing Yours Truly, I am equal parts devastated and absolutely in love. I didn’t think anyone could come as close to Jason, but Jacob is my newest fictional crush! Briana and Jacob’s love story is one for the history books. Through their trauma and mental health illnesses, they pushed through and loved each other in the most beautiful way. They are and will forever be harmless to each other. Thank you, Abby for another truly amazing and beautiful book! I can’t wait for the rest of the world to love it too!

Abby Jimenez once again robbed me of sleep with her amazing talents as an author of romance novels. I had absolutely zero ability to put my Kindle down as the story between Bri and Jacob unfolded, drew me in, and wouldn't let me go until the epilogue was read. Abby's storylines and characters are always so well thought out and content is researched to ensure accuracy, which makes her work 100% relatable to the reader. Abby Jimenez has a true gift for balancing romantic tension with humor and heartfelt moments of personal growth in each of her characters, and Bri and Jacob are no exception. The letter writing between these enemies turned friends turned lovers took this romance novel to a whole new level. Plus, there is an dog named Lieutenant Dan and cat named Cooter for all animal lovers to appreciate in the storyline.

I hope every reader of the romance genre gets the chance to read this story of Bri and Jacob. Like all of Abby's other books, Yours Truly is one that I will be reading again and again for the heartwarming feels that it delivers. I am truly honored and fortunate to have have gotten an early chance to read Yours Truly and give this captivating story the 5-star reviews it deserves. Thank you to Abby, Forever Publishing, and Netgalley for the advanced reading opportunity! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏📕💗

Abby Jimenez is always a must read for me. Yours Truly has all the elements I love about her writing: imperfect characters doing their best, deft handling of difficult topics (anxiety), the callbacks to previous books’ characters. I love a fake dating scenario and the MMC was a true cinnamon roll. This is set in the same world as Part of Your World- a book from the best friend Bri’s perspective. With all due respect, if you like the miscommunication trope, this one's for you! There were so many times that you just wanted the characters to get out of their own way. But that is also what makes her characters so realistic. I’d say this is most similar to The Friend Zone in pacing (with less steam). Had all the feels- from swooning to swearing to sniffling- a very entertaining read that fans of AJ will devour.

Abby Jimenez is such a gift to the romance community. I set an alarm to get this ARC because I could not wait until April.

I almost had trouble starting this because I knew it would suck me in and I’d be done too quickly. Once I got going I couldn’t put it down- a Jimenez special talent. I spent the entire day curled up with Yours Truly ignoring my entire life.

Briana, an ER doctor, is trying to pick up the pieces after her life seemed to implode. Her husband was cheating on her with a friend, the job she’s up for was postponed, her brothers kidney is failing & her best friend moved away. She’s strong but how much can one person take?

Jacob starts at Brianas job (as her competition.) He’s awkward and stumbling through his first days. Turns out he has social anxiety. Although he and Briana have a rocky start they become sort of “pen pals” then friends.

They fall into a fake dating situation which is a romance readers dream. To say I became obsessed with Jacob is an understatement. He’s gold. I’m a very anxious person and have so many similar thoughts to his. It was heartwarming to read a character so real. Briana really adapted to his needs, without even trying. Everyone needs someone who totally understands and respects them.

Briana has a lot of trauma to work through. I’ll admit she began to frustrate me towards the end even though her fears were totally understandable.

I love that Jimenez wrote characters with such real life issues- anxiety, depression, affects of chronic health, cheating, abandonment, commitment, miscarriage. Almost hard to believe a book filled with all these topics still made my heart swell. Jacob gave me emoji heart eyes. Briana was sassy & made me laugh.

I’m so sad to be finished!!

I devoured this book! I laughed, I cried. I can't wait to have a copy I can hold in my hands, so I can get years on that and not on my phone.

Wow, this was a very powerful book. As the mother of a son with severe, crippling anxiety this really hit me in the feels. I saw a lot of him in Jacob, in how he coped and how things affected him. The author really did her research on this and I could feel Jacob's anxiety in the scenes and it was so real. The relationship between him and Briana felt so natural and meant to be. I really recommend this book, it will make you feel so much for these characters.

Thanks to Netgalley I was able to get an ARC of this book! Abby Jimenez never disappoints. Her humor and relatable characters have you rooting for them from the first chapter! The banter between characters makes you feel like you are right there with them in one of the conversations with your own good friends. I will read any book she writes and can't wait for her next release.

“Yours Truly” by Abby Jimenez
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
✈️ to: Minnesota
TWs: chronic illness, miscarriage, cheating, anxiety, depression

I’m just going to go ahead and start by saying this just might be my new favorite Abby Jimenez book.

“Yours Truly” is pretty much perfect in my mind. This book had me GOOEY in economy on my flight back from London. I wanted to wrap my arms around Briana — the stubborn, sassy, diabolical, protective heroine — and Jacob — the most cinnamon roll hero of all cinnamon roll heroes — and protect them. Once again, Abby has written two characters who are so undeniably right for each other that you PINE for their happy ending.

As expected, the secondary characters are perfection. Jafar, the talking parrot, had me in tears with his well timed expletives, and the mothers in this book are so darn good (where can I get a freezer full of Salvadoran food??).

But the best thing about this book is its heart. In the Author's Note, Abby talks about why she decided to write about organ donation and more specifically chronic kidney disease. If the book didn’t make you cry, this just might. The level of care that Abby puts into all of her books and writing about topics like anxiety, depression, infertility, etc. should be the standard for all writers. Reading her books, I always feel that -- like Jacob and Briana have promised to be harmless to each other -- Abby makes the same promise to her readers.

✨I recommend for: EVERYONE, but also: second chance romance, enemies to friends to lovers, fans of three legged Bernes Mountain dogs names Lieutenant Dan... did I mention everyone??

*SPOILER ALERT*
I’m used to reading paperbacks. So switching to reading on my phone a lot has put me in a bit of a reading slump. However, this book pulled me out of it. I was so excited I was able to read this early. Books like these are the reason I started reading through NetGalley. I absolutely love Abby Jimenez, she is an incredible writer. She always includes characters from her previous books. Which I love because I get a little glimpse of the other characters lives that weren’t given in the other books. Now about this book, it has became one of my favorite books written by her. I really related to Jacobs character. The way the author wrote about his social anxiety was very accurate. I struggle with social anxiety myself and this book gave me hope that it won’t always run my life. It was incredible, everyone got their happy ending. I enjoyed everything about this book and the characters. Jacob and Briana's relationship is so cute and everything I want in one. It was amazing how Benny got his life back. This book talked about a lot of important things depression, miscarriage, autoimmune disorder, and social anxiety. Everything was represented so well. Truly yours had all my favorite tropes. It started out enemy’s to lovers, then fake dating, and the one bed trope. It also had an unplanned pregnancy usually I’m not one to like this trope but it fit so well. This book is the type where you read it online but you need to also buy the copy to put it on your shelf like a trophy. Which I will definitely be doing. I can’t wait for the next Abby Jimenez book I know they will never disappoint.

Jacob is the hero I didn’t know we needed. I love how the characters developed throughout the book. I love that we got a glimpse into Alexis and Daniel’s lives. I really enjoy how Abby’s books tell the same story but from two perspectives. Her attention to detail and bringing in little pieces of previous books makes me happy. I would recommend reading all of her books, in order. Each one is better than it’s predecessors.

I cannot get enough of Abby Jimenez. Yours Truly is full of heart, longing, understanding. I cheered for Briana and Jacob and laughed out loud along the way. I could definitely go for some Salvadorian food and a red velvet cupcake! Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

My Thoughts
WOW! I never related more to a book before with the social anxiety representation and being in a relationship and having your significant other not understand your anxiety. I truly felt so seen when following along Jacob’s journey. This book made me realize that there is someone out there for me who will understand me & my anxiety. My perfect match is out there somewhere
because love does show up.
I highly suggest reading Part of Your World first since this is Briana’s story who originally came from Part of Your World!
Abby’s characters are extremely well written & developed 🤌🏼 I really felt the magnetism between Briana and Jacob, like seriously that’s how you a book is good y’all. Plus the humor from Grandpa and even the bird, Jafar at times was on point! And how can you not love a three legged dog named Lieutenant Dan!🥹
This is my 2nd book by Abby & I can officially say she’s become one of my top favorite authors!👏🏻

READ THIS IF YOU:

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review this book. I just want to start by saying that I LOVED Part of Your World so I was so excited to get to read this book and see Bri’s story! It did not disappoint and I honestly loved this book soooo much. The author approached this book as so much more than just a romance and I am here for stories with raw, flawed, relatable characters.

Jacob and Bri were EVERYTHING! Bri is dealing with a divorce and we get to see the honest and raw emotions she feels and how that affects her relationships. Jacob has severe anxiety (which was completely relatable for me) and watching Bri compassionately handle that along side him, knowing what he needs and what to say to him at the right time was so amazing.

W H A T I L O V E D:
• Jacob was incredible! He was one of the kindest, sweetest, most genuine and relatable MCs I have read about in a romance. I fell in love with his character from the very beginning of the book.
• The author approached the topics of divorce, anxiety, and medical issues with compassion.
•The character growth was amazing and the plot was heartwarming.

This is one of my favorite books I have read this year.

At this point I’m convinced Abby Jimenez is a literary unicorn. I mean, I’m 5 books deep and love them more and more. I absolutely love her characters and dialogue. She’s done it again!

Abby Jimenez has done it again...Yours Truly is full of characters that you fall in love with and want to hang out with, dealing with enough issues and problems to feel real, but all the while moving through them and forward towards a well-deserved happy-ever-after that will leave you happy and wising you could keep following their life stories. Jimenez did an amazing job accurately portraying anxiety disorder, how someone diagnosed with it might find themselves constantly questioning and fixating on parts of their life, as well as how those around them can be sensitive and supportive for someone diagnosed with anxiety.

Yet another fantastic example of Abby’s wit, humor and most importantly compassion. While her books are technically rom-coms, she never shies away from the difficult topics and her books give you plenty to think about while being a quick, easy enjoyable escapism read at the same time. Her humor is hilarious, her characters are so unbelievably relatable, and the dog is amazing.
