I have loved all of Abby’s books, but this has become my favorite. I immediately noticed her “Content Guidance” page. Because her books often cover heavy topics, I LOVE that she addresses this immediately to help people decide if it will be harmful for their own mental health to read.

Jacob’s character is written amazingly well. He suffers from anxiety (referred to as social anxiety, but may also be Generalized Anxiety Disorder). His inner dialogue resonated so strongly with me and I think is helpful for people who have’t dealt with anxiety to read (I’m debating asking my husband to read this one for that aspect alone - sometimes it’s hard to explain in words, but Abby documented it so well).

If you’ve read other Abby books, you know the romance is going to come to a screeching halt one way or another and this one is no different, but I also appreciated that it wasn’t as drawn our or heart wrenching as other storylines.

I HIGHLY recommend this book.

The best book I have read all year! Abby knows how to write characters, as I have LOVED every character in every book she has written. Jacob and Bri are my new 2 favorites! And so fun to see Alexis and Daniel again too. Yours Truly is a love story that shows up. I laughed, I cried, I yelled at them to just get together already! You will not be disappointed in this read. I want more! 5 stars!

Bri and Jacob's story was such a pleasure to read. I've never truly related to a character more then Jacob with his struggles with social anxiety. I loved the way the characters complemented each other so well. I could not wait to read this book and feel so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to read it early. Abby continues to write books the wreck me in the best way. Every time I read one of Abby's books it immediately becomes my favorite and Yours Truly followed suit. By far my favorite book of the year! I cannot wait to read it again and again.

Yours Truly is Bri’s book from Part of Your World. She is at a stage in her life after her divorce when she has no faith in the opposite sex until she literally stumbles or more like runs over Jacob. The story of their friendship evolving from best friends to lovers was well written. Loved Brianna and Jacob’s banter, Bri’s diabolical questions to learn the true psych of Jacob within his responses. I never knew how much anxiety can run someone’s life as is does with Jacob and how he manages his coping mechanisms. Abby’s telling of this condition brings awareness that kindness goes a long way to some that suffers from anxiety . It’s a lovely story with all the feels a of a new relationship, the does he like, does he not. I highly recommend this book.

I have no chill when it comes to a new Abby Jimenez book! One of my absolute favorite authors, this newest book did not disappoint. Deeply personal for the author, this story features Brianna Ortiz, a recently divorced ER doctor whose brother is suffering from kidney failure and in need of an organ donor.

Enter Doctor Jacob Maddox, her new ER co-worker who is also recovering from a recent break-up and suffers from debilitating anxiety. Jacob and Brianna get off to a rough start in the beginning but then start exchanging letters, eventually becoming the friend neither knew they needed.

I couldn't get enough of this book to be perfectly honest and did not want it to end. Full of a great cast of secondary characters, including Jacob's big, quirky family, and Brianna's best friend Alexis (from Part of your world). There was also an emotional support dog, a parrot who curses and an old persnickety cat.

The mental health rep in this book was amazing!! From the coping strategies Jacob uses to handle his anxiety (meds, therapy, journaling, etc.) to Brianna's own mental health struggles (depression over her brother's declining health and trauma from her divorce and a miscarriage).

Abby Jimenez doesn't hold back, this book made me laugh out loud and sob like a baby. I fell in love with these characters and their beautiful slow-burn, friends to lovers/fake dating romance. Highly recommended for fans of other organ transplant romances like Would you rather by Allison Ashley or Unlikely match by Laura Bradbury.

I can't recommend this book enough and am so grateful to NetGalley and Forever for the opportunity to read an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review! Make sure to mark this down and get your pre-orders in for April 11, 2023.

CW: divorce, chronic illness, kidney failure, organ donation, infidelity, miscarriage, anxiety, depression

Thank you so much to Abby and Netgalley for the ARC!

Can Abby write anything that I won't love? Unlikely at this point. They just keep getting better.

I was so excited to get to know Bri from Part of Your World and meet Jacob. I truly connected to this book due to Jacob's social anxiety (hello, same) and Bri's brothers struggle with kidney failure (something I personally went through with my Mom).

I devoured this one and can't wait for her next.

I loved this book! I was lucky to get a copy and tried my best to read it slowly so I could enjoy every minute of it. Abby Jimenez writes real characters, and I really identified with the social anxiety issues that Jacob experienced. There were so many laugh out loud moments, but the parrot was the absolute best. I wish I could go to dinner at the Maddox house! Loved, loved his book and all of the characters in it. I’ve already preordered a copy so I can read it again when it comes out!

This book was absolutely wonderful. Absolutely perfect. I loved Part of Your World so much, and I loved this one even more.
Abby is so good at writing stories that are so well balanced between heartwarming and heart wrenching. I can’t believe I read this in two days! I can’t wait until April so I can read the paperback all over again.

Briana is about to be finally divorced, her brother is sick and it’s not looking good, and she’s seemingly getting passed on for a job she more than deserves. Then enters Jacob, new to the hospital and everyone is calling him Dr. Death. And Briana agrees with until everyone until they start sharing letters with each other and her perspective changes very quickly.

Everything about this book was perfect. Jacob and Briana were so easy together. They understood each other. Jacob didn’t have an easy time with people, with a lot of things, his social anxiety made it hard for him. But with Briana things were easier. I was able to relate so much with Jacob on so many level. The way he lived his life with anxiety felt so honest and raw, it was a really great to see how hard it is. It wasn’t like he ‘had anxiety’, Abby wrote him overthinking, what he did when he was feeling anxious, how he spent all day thinking about what to eat for lunch so it wouldn’t be a nuisance in their supply closet date, how Briana noticed when he was feeling anxious and how she could help him alleviate some of it. It was absolutely wonderful.

And Briana’s story arc was so good too. Neither of them truly believed that the other could ever be interested in them. Briana has so many trust issues. All of the men in her life failed her, so how could Jacob be any different. He told her he was still in love with someone else? Why would they change? Her crisis didn’t really come to a head until later in the book, so it was easy to think that she was just feeling bitter about her divorce. Especially since she now had Jacob and things were really looking good for her. Jacob and his mom really pulled through for her, and even her mom, she had such a good support system, she just needed to trust herself so she could open up again.

All of the secondary characters were so amazing. All of Jacob’s family were so different from each other and especially different form Jacob. They love him so much and he loves them. Seeing how supportive they were of him and always have been warmed my heart.

I loved seeing Alexis and Daniel again! I loved that Briana and Jacob got to experience a little Wakan magic for themselves. I love Alexis and Briana’s friendship so much.

I already can’t wait for the next book about Justin! Abby does a great job of teasing these things. I will obviously read everything Abby ever writes and I am so happy I was able to read this one early!

Thanks so much to NetGalley, Abby Jimenez, and Forever for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! I can’t believe it doesn’t come out until April!

This refers to an ARC I received here on NetGalley. Abby has done it again! She has written a book about two characters who have relatable problems and they must learn to trust in order to get their HEA. I stayed up most of the night to finish this because I couldn't wait to see how Briana and Jacob learn to trust and communicate with each other. And the dog is Lieutenant Dan!

Wow. This book was phenomenal! The characters had so much depth, and we even got a glimpse into the life of Alexis from Part of Your World. I binged this book within the span of two days, and was left with a huge book hangover. Without spoiling the plot, I could completely relate to Daniel. Abby did an amazing job depicting what it’s like living with anxiety, and I loved that she opened this up to readers. If you’ve read any of her past books, I think you’ll agree this is her best yet (and I thought The Friendzone was the best when it first came out)! From romance to heartache, to real life situations, this book has it all!

Do we expect Abby to provide us with laugh out loud scenes that leave us cackling? Yep. Do we expect Abby to smash our hearts into a million little pieces and then slowly and painstakingly put them back together in the MOST beautiful way? Yep. Yours Truly is EVERYTHING we’ve come to expect from our dear Abby, but beneath the humor and slow burn, this book is raw and personal, in ways that are both unexpected and incredibly vulnerable. I picked this book up and COULD NOT STOP until the HEA. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for my ARC!

Every once in awhile, I come across a book that I just can’t seem to put down and I must finish it immediately. Yours Truly is one of those books for me. I started it on a Saturday night and finished it that same Saturday night. I loved every single second of this story and the characters in it. Abby Jimenez created a story full of love, compassion, understanding, healing, and so much more. I felt every single emotion possible throughout the story and could not put it down. I absolutely needed more of Briana and Jacob and their amazingly beautiful love story. Ms. Jimenez is an amazing storyteller and writer. Her writing transports you directly into the lives of her characters and you do not ever want to leave, I know I didn’t. Everything about Yours Truly was addictive and beautiful.

The characters in Yours Truly were the absolute best and so relatable. You could feel the raw emotions of Briana, Jacob, and their families. You can feel their pain, happiness, hope, love, acceptance, and understanding through the pages of the story. I fell in love with Briana and Jacob’s family as much as I fell in love with the two of them. The chemistry between Briana and Jacob was unreal. The tension between these two was palpable. You could feel how much they loved and wanted one another, even if it took them too dang long to admit it!

I simply adored every single thing about Jacob. His kind nature, his simple routines, his quietness, his heart, and even his social anxiety. It made him, him. And Jacob is absolutely amazing. He went out of his way to help others and never wanted the recognition for it. He just wanted to help others. Everything about this man had me falling in love with a fictional character. I loved him from page one and fell more in love with him after each page. Briana was a different story. It took me time to fall in love with her character. She could be rough around the edges, with good reason, but I needed more time to start to enjoy her character. She is witty, fierce, hard headed at times, and so full of love. Together Briana and Jacob brought out the absolute best in one another. Jacob felt completely at ease with Briana in a way that he had never experienced before. He wanted to be with her all the time when he normally likes his solitude. Briana broke her “don’t fall in love again because all men are the same rule” because Jacob is that amazing and understanding. Also, he is giving a kidney to her brother. He is giving her brother his life back and she is forever grateful to him for it. But that’s not the reason she fell in love with this man. Jacob gave her the space to be herself and showed her that not all men are like her cheating ex. He accepted her exactly as she is and allowed her the space to be herself. He fell head over heels in love with her. He showed her through his words and actions that there are good men out there and he will love her even if she doesn’t chose a life with him. I fell in love with their love and it was an amazing journey to be a part of. I simply could not get enough of these two and I’m sad the story is over. I feel like I could read about them forever.

Overall, I rate this amazing story a 5/5! If I could rate this book 10 stars, I would. I am absolutely obsessed with Briana and Jacob’s love story. It’s full of heartache, understanding, healing, acceptance, joy, and love. It was an absolute joy and privilege to go on this journey with these two characters. Abby Jimenez writes in a way that I feel every single emotion, heartache, and happiness that her characters do. Yours Truly is one of the best books that I have read this year and I honestly cannot stop thinking about it. I will miss Briana and Jacob tremendously. I will continue to obsess over this story even as a start new ones. I love it so very much. Well done Ms. Jimenez, well done.

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez is the fifth book by this exceptional author. She always creates amazing characters in interesting and heart touching situations. Her books have it all, love, laughter, drama, sass and tears of both sadness and joy. Oh, and dogs! If you haven’t read her books start now. This one doesn’t come out until 2023 so you have time to catch up on the first four. Happy reading!

While I did enjoy Brianna and Jacob’s story and how the author portrayed anxiety, I found the book to be repetitive. I wish the author had also developed side characters as it became boring hearing Jacob and Bri worrying and miscommunications the entire book. I also felt that Jacob’s insecurity was a huge turn off.

One of my favorite things about Abby is how her real life comes into her books. I am a huge fan or her writing style and will continue to follow her. There is parts of this book when Jacob is the narrator that I had to screen shot because as someone who struggles with anxiety, that I can directly relate to those feelings. This book is just as amazing as all of Abby’s others. The connection I feel in this one is so real, This book is an advocate for so many things people forget to talk about, such as organ donation, mental health and chronic illness. Thank you Abby for another beautiful book!

Is anyone going to even believe me when I say this was the authors best book yet? Because I’ve said that basically every single time I review one of her books. I swear it’s true though, she gets better with each book somehow. Maybe it’s because Jacob is her best hero yet. This man is so pure and vulnerable, imagine the softest, squishiest person on the planet and that’s him 🫠 But Briana is amazing in her own right and when I found out she was getting her own book after meeting her in POYW I was thrilled. Getting to know her more was a treat, she cracks me up and checking in with Alexis and Daniel was fun too. This book was full of Easter eggs per usual so longtime fans will be delighted when they spot them. It always feels like such a cute reward when I notice one and there’s some real gems here. This one isn’t all fun, there is a lot of emotional heaviness and if this isn’t your first Abby book you get it. IYKYK Her characters path to getting a HEA is never easy, they really have to work for it but man is it worth it in the end. For them and the reader because my overall feeling when I finished this was an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction. The anxiety and chronic health rep was 🤌🏻💋 too, parts of this made me feel seen in such a powerful way. Read this if you like hilarious banter, emotional depth, authentic characters and a hero and heroine who treat each other with so much care.

Abby has done it again. Easy five stars for this book. Jason is peak book boyfriend. He might surpass Elliot from Love and Other words #iykyk.

You would not have had to read her other books to love this one, but the Easter eggs are always so fun.

As a fairly die-hard Abby Jimenez reader, I have been eager to read Bri’s story since meeting her in POYW. Not only is Briana a fantastic character, but Jacob? Whew…. Abby’s men just keep evolving and leveling up. Below is my review, but warning SPOILERS AHEAD!

I really loved this book for:

✍🏻 Hand Letter writing - SWOON
❤️‍🩹 Healthy mental wellness habits
🧠 An accurate depiction of anxiety
🎢 A roller coaster but not the same level or length of crash and burn as some of her earlier plots (ahem, TFZ, HEAP)
🤐 the quiets
🥰 The Maddox family
👩🏻‍🦰🧔🏻‍♂️Alexis & Daniel (& Wakan!) cameos
🫓 El Salvadoran food (mmm pupusas)
🦜 Jafar the cursing parrot
👩🏽‍❤️‍👨🏻 Fake dating -> real feelings
🏥 Living organ donation & autoimmune representation
❤️‍🔥Combustion level steam
❤️ Being harmless to one another
🥚 Abby-verse Easter eggs make the reading extra fun

That all being said I had a couple things that didn’t land for me:

📝 Journaling can be super private - sometimes the journaling is to get out of your head but isn’t meant for anyone else to ever read because what is in your head isn’t always true or fair or helpful. Anxiety and depression lies. So I loved that he shared his journal to share his soul with her as a sign of his devotion - it was sweet and it worked for them. Yet I also cringed because NOT sharing a therapeutic journal doesn’t mean you are keeping secrets from a partner - it can mean you have a right to that private space to work out feelings and thoughts without worrying about how the lies your brain tells you could hurt or harm someone else. In this case I don’t think it’s a model of intimacy that should be put on a pedestal, but I still loved the beauty of the gesture.

👗The love scene was hot and while it was a bummer they didn’t both know they had such feelings for one another at the time, I still could enjoy the passion. BUT, it felt like there was a glaring issue for me. Where was the consent? That was described as a quick and fast thing & while we knew in her head that she was ok with it, how did he know? He didn’t ask. He never made sure it was ok with her to do that without a condom. Even if her body is saying yes…. Consent - overwhelmingly enthusiastic & verbal consent - is SEXY. Of course it all ends up happily ever after but this one piece was a bummer to me. Consent is SEXY as hell and I wish it were always modeled because even though this scene was hot, they can’t read each other’s mind and this one element was a disappointment for me.

Overall I still give it high marks - 4.5 ⭐️ rounding up for rating purposes! I can’t wait for everyone to read this one!

Thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review. And thank you to Abby for writing another amazing book and for sharing it so enthusiastically with your fans! I can’t wait to re-read it & re-read it & re-read it… Bri and Jacob’s love is one I will definitely return to.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book! As a therapist, this book spoke to me both professionally and personally. I could not only see my clients throughout this story but also myself as someone who struggles with anxiety. This book was the real deal - a mixture of funny, sweet and serious. It gave mental health awareness and understanding, exactly what is needed to end the stigma. Abby does it again with the fantastic banter between characters and witty one liners. You won’t want to miss this book on its release date in April 2023! Do yourself a favor and pre-order it right now!

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH. Abby Jimenez's books are full of heart, multi-dimensional characters, compassionate handling of sensitive subject matter, and the most fun you'll have laughing when you're not crying. Choosing a favorite of her books feels like choosing a favorite child... but this one is a definite contender.

Briana and Jacob are heat and honey that combine to make the most luscious snack. There are hand-written letters, a sob closet, a plant room, a three-legged dog named Lieutenant Dan, cupcakes, copious references to characters from previous books, a sex therapist, a profane bird, a feisty grandpa, a journal... and it is all just SO. GOOD.

Read this book because love means showing up.

HUGE thank you to the author, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and NetGalley for providing an advance reader copy for me to review. It was pure joy.
