Abby Jimenez is, and always will be, an automatic author for me. The characters in Yours Truly are so real that I found myself crying and laughing along with them. Their pain was my pain, their joy my joy. And the social anxiety representation was so on point. A delicious slow burn full of pining. So good!

Yours Truly was my first Abby Jimenez book and I absolutely adored it. I fell in love with the main characters, Briana & Jacob. Their dynamic reminded me so much of myself and my husband, which may be why I loved them so much.
Briana is smart, driven, compassionate, fierce, and loyal. The firecracker of the couple. I loved how complex Briana’s character was. I loved drive, her tenacity, and yet she’s not a one-dimensional workaholic ice queen. She’s an extrovert who needs to retreat and recharge, she’s observant and loving, she’s protective, she’s strong, and she’s funny. Jimenez had me cracking up over Briana and Jacob’s interactions.
I loved Jacob’s quiet strength and confidence. His gentleness and tender nature really enamored me and his experience with anxiety made me sympathetic to his character. He’s such an easy character to love and root for.
Miscommunication did feature centrally in the book, however, I felt it was realistically done and genuine. Typically I dislike miscommunication, but I appreciated the maturity and understanding that Briana and Jacob displayed when they did finally communicate.
Yours Truly is a roller coaster of a story about two wonderfully imperfect individuals finding love that had me laughing outloud and also sobbing. Overall, I loved it! ❤️

Another home run by Abby Jimenez. Why am I surprised?
Yours Truly is made up of all the things we’ve come to love about Jimenez’s writing - supportive friendships, laugh out loud moments, adorable animals, and a beautiful happily ever after. The fake dating trope was a gift that kept on giving, gracing us with forced proximity and a beautifully painful slow burn that I couldn’t wait to see turn into a full on blaze.
While their relationship didn’t begin the conventional way, I loved watching Jacob and Briana slowly fall for each other. The letters, their silly get-to-know-you games, time spent in the supply closet while on shift…it was all just so dang sweet.
All of the stars to this one.

This was an incredible book to read! The author has such a way with words as she approaches hard topics with such in-depth understanding. Abby Jimenez has a way of adding humor in the most delicious way. ER Dr.Briana Ortiz and has been going through some of the biggest challenges of her life when she meets the Dr. Jacob Maddox and can’t stand him immediately.
The way that the author write their journey from someone Briana can’t stand to someone she looks forward to seeing and working with is so sweet. I don’t want to spoil anything for you but this boot covers a variety of personal challenges with understanding and kindness. Dr. Maddox deals with anxiety on a regular basis and it felt a lot like my own personal experience with it.
Very well done, a must read for all romantic readers!

I’ve stated many times here that I’m a huge fan of Abby Jimenez. I think I’ve read literally everything she’s written. She’s amazing. She always plays on my emotions and for some reason I just love that lol So when this one was coming out, I didn’t really read what it was about, I added it to my TBR without any hassle. And after reading this, I think I will continue to do so.
So of course like every other Jimenez book, this book brought me to tears. That ending was a bit of a surprise. I knew there was something that had to have happened, but I wasn’t ready for what it was. And the fact that the MMC also had some family and life challenges, I was a mess. This book definitely made me feel things, so if you’re not ready for that, make sure you get ready.
The romance was cute, but I was really pissed about a lot of it to be honest. Like it just didn’t make any sense to me. They spent this whole time writing letters to each other back and forth and using it to get to know each other, etc. But for whatever reason, they didn’t just use that same method of communicating. Because listen the third act was basically them mad at each other for something they would only have known if they had talked about it. It made no sense. They kept telling themselves things in their mind but no one decided to do the work until the end.
I will say the mental health aspect was gold. I could definitely relate to the anxious mess that was Jacob. Literally everything that he did I found solace in the fact that this was something I also do. And the way Briana helped talk him through it, and did things with him that people don’t usually do. I was glad he had her there. It was very sweet to watch them fall for each other.
I knew this was going to be a winner as soon as I saw the author’s name. Abby has a way of tearing your heart apart, but then putting it back together. But sometimes the road to getting there is a bit rocky. And that’s exactly how I felt about this. No it wasn’t my favorite of hers, but it was super good and kept me entertained all the same. (And like did Abby get even funnier or something? Because I think I had a stitch in my side from laughing during the family dinner lmao)

4.5⭐️! I enjoyed Yours Truly more than I expected. I don’t think it will be for everyone, but it is my 2nd favorite Abby Jimenez book after The Friendzone! This was just soooo sweet and filled my heart with a lot of love!

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez provided me with such great escapism that it helped distract me from real life for a few days. RomComs aren’t my “go to” but I do really enjoy them. This is a slow burn but their banter is great and their chemistry is sizzling. Jacob is not your typical hero but I enjoyed seeing a man like him as the lead. There are some triggers such as miscarriage and infidelity but it’s meaningful and really adds to the plot. I ended up giving the book 4 stars on @goodreads
Thank you @netgalley and @readforeverpub for my gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was a wonderful romcom woll all the feels! I loved falling in love with these two doctors and following their enemies and lovers story.

Abby Jimenez writes books that always have the perfect blend of sweet and meaningful. Every single one of her books is full of heartfelt reality that I have difficulty finding in a lot of stories I have read lately. Her stories never shy away from difficult material. She gives the reader a fresh perspective into the roughest parts of relationships, the grittiest mental health struggles, the trials of living with chronic or terminal illnesses, and so much more. What made Yours Truly stand out as an exceptional read is getting the male perspective of suffering anxiety. Dr. Jacob Maddox is a character that was written to be strong and intelligent and not diminished for being socially introverted. Jimenez did a wonderful job giving these flawed characters a love story that was genuine and relatable. I will be recommending this book to everyone!

Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the advanced read of Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez.
ER doctor Brianna Ortiz is a recent divorcee and devoted sister to a brother desperately needing a kidney transplant. The last thing she needs is workplace drama. Enter "Dr. Death" - Dr. Jacob Maddox - the new ER doctor who has a rough first week on the job.
Jacob suffers from anxiety and ends up turning to letter writing to best communicate with Brianna. One letter turns to two, to ten, to dozens... and these letters and notes become the highlights of their days.
This is an enemies to lovers, fake relationship, rom-com that made me laugh, smile, and tear up. The letter writing element bought a level of EXCELLENT communication, something I didn't know I needed but ended up loving. And I truly appreciated the spotlight on mental health, anxiety, and how to navigate that as the person living with it and as someone showing immense empathy and understanding. Brianna's supportive role in Jacob's anxiety was so refreshing and appreciated by me.
Yours Truly was a great read - another Abby Jimenez hit! If you are a fan of her other books, this one will not disappoint.

Briana Ortiz is going through a difficult patch of life. Her divorce is about to be final, her brother is fading away while awaiting a transplant and that promotion she thought she was a shoe-in for is now on hold to give the new guy a shot at it. Channeling all her anger towards Dr. Jacob Maddox was easy, there was absolutely nothing to like about this man...well, except maybe his face. But now to make matters worse, he's written her a letter and it turns out that maybe he wasn't the problem after all. As their letter exchanges continue and lunch meet-ups in the supply closet become more frequent, Briana can see she was completely wrong about Jacob, even more so when it's revealed that he is a perfect transplant match for her brother and Jacob has agreed to be his donor. So when Jacob calls in a favor how can Briana say no? Even if it means spending quite a lot of time with Dr. Maddox and discovering that maybe she's met her match as well. I flew through "Yours Truly" much as I did "Part of Your World" last year. Abby Jimenez has mastered the art of the slow-burn romance and I found myself smiling while reading this and actually laughing out loud at times. Jimenez covers a list of heavier topics in her rom-coms so this isn't your typical cookie-cutter read. You will see "Yours Truly" marketed as book two of a series but it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Add this to your summer TBR list and BOTM readers don't sleep on this May pick! Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this one so much. Abby Jimenez is a special writer. The only thing that it didn’t love was the pacing. It felt a little off at times and rushed at others.

After reading Part of your world this exact time last year, I was excited for Briana to get her own book. This was cute and had its funny moments but the over use of the miscommunication trope made me not enjoy this book as much as I wanted to. It got pretty repetitive by the 2nd half of the book and drawn out for no good reason. The anxiety rep was great and pretty realistic (in my opinion) and the sweet love letters and moments between the two MCs was cute. I liked getting to see Alexis and Daniel again and Jacob was such a wholesome and sweet love interest. This is a fake relationship, friends to lovers slow burn romance. A bit to slow burn for me but overall cute.

I absolutely loved this story. I don't know where to begin!
Briana’s story is heartbreaking and I felt for her and her trauma not just from her horrible divorce but also from her childhood etc. Jacob is by far the sweetest, most thoughtful, compassionate, respectful man I've ever read about. And I could go on. His struggle with anxiety made me feel seen. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE ANXIETY REP IN THIS. This could be triggering for some but for me I felt seen.
I loved the way these two characters, just vibed and understood one another so well. Briana spoke Jacob's language! I loved that. That tidbit of wisdom or whatever you'd like to call it. You need to find someone who speaks your language and shows up. That's it.
I loved how dimensional each of these characters were as well as the supporting characters. The pace was good though I felt the miscommunication was a bit drawn out though I understand why with their struggles/past. The love story was definitely unique and memorable. Very wholesome ❤️
The ending was the only confusing part in my opinion. It was completely realistic that Briana would have doubts and have a negative reaction to what happens however the way it was handled was jarring. And then when Jacob is in the hospital, he gives her that gift, I thought something was going to happen to him. This all happened at the 95% mark so I was confused as to why this couldn't have happened at the 85% vs the end?! I don't know. The epilogue of two years later was short and sweet.
I will be buying this because I'd love a physical copy and I'll be reading more of Abby's work after this!

I could not WAIT to read this book after falling in love with Part Of Your World. Going into this book was like coming home. Abby’s writing just flows and I loved being a part of this world again and getting to know Brianna and Jacob. They made me laugh and their chemistry was everything. I also found Jacob’s character and his anxiety really refreshing and honest. What drove me absolutely crazy was the miscommunication in this book. I was honestly really surprised by it and I kind of wanted to throw my book because of it. It was just so frustrating and distracting for me as a reader. If it weren’t for the miscommunication this would have been 5 stars for sure. Still love Abby and still can’t wait to read more of her books!

A well earned 5⭐️s! This was Ana amazing story- not only of romance, but of second chances to learn to love yourself.
Add this to your TBR- right now!

"We're all a little broken, Briana. We are a mosaic. We're made up of all those we've met and all the things we've been through. There are parts of us that are colorful and dark and jagged and beautiful. And I love every piece of you. Even the ones you wish didn't exist."

This book was so precious and beautiful and heart breaking. This contained one of my favorite tropes: fake dating. I enjoyed that the situation revolving around the fake dating relationship made sense and wasn't terribly weird.
However, often with fake dating romances, there is often the miscommunication/misunderstanding trope which I don't particularly love. Half of this book was riding the curtails of each main character thinking the other person wasn't falling for them the way they were when, in fact, they were both falling in love with each other. I think the what made the misunderstanding a bit more tolerable was that the couple had not yet pursued any sort of physical relationship, so their false assumptions were more believable because they didn't want to take that next step thinking the other person wasn't interested.
The absolute shining star of this book was our MMC, Jacob. I would throw myself on a grenade for this precious and perfect man. He's definitely going in the book boyfriend hall of fame.
Some other mentionable loves of this book: the overall dynamic between Briana and Jacob, the elements of family, grandpa and his cigarette shenanigans, Jacob's selflessness, the LETTERS, the anxiety rep, and Jacob's journal.
This was my first Abby Jimenez book and I would definitely be interested in reading more from her!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (I loved it. Go read this book!)

Abby Jimenez is an auto-read romance author for me, so I started her latest novel as soon as I got my grubby little paws on it. Yours Truly started off slowly for me, but once I got into it I could not put it down. Read this when you are in the mood for a laugh-out-loud, fake-dating romance between two ER doctors and the lively cast of characters in their orbit. It is The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood meets Grey’s Anatomy. Best paired with Salvadorian chicken thighs in a tomato onion base. XO, Tara

4/5 stars.
Thank The arc! This book follows Briana and Jacob, two new coworkers. Brianna feels that Jacob is trying to take the job she is going for and has an instant dislike to him. Jacob is trying to get away from a bad break up and start fresh. What in Sue’s is a warm, fuzzy and hilarious story of their relationship. I loved this book, but not as much as Part Of Your world. Still worth reading.

Part of Your World is my all time favorite romcom so Yours Truly was one of my most anticipated reads this year. These are interconnected stories so should be read in order, but you could read Yours Truly as a standalone. The main characters from Part of Your World do make some appearance though.
Briana and Jacob are doctors in the same hospital. After a not so great first encounter, Bri doesn’t like him, but he is smitten with her so he decides to write her a letter. The letter is so amazing that Bri starts to wonder if she has Jacob all wrong, and she decides to write him back.
I loved the letters exchanged between Bri & Jacob. Since Jacob has anxiety, this was an easy way for him to communicate with Bri. I could definitely relate to Jacob while reading this book. He was so well written, and just a lovely character. Jimenez wrote his anxiety well and handled his issues with grace and charm.
Bri had her own issues dealing with a divorce after not being able to conceive. This is a tough subject for a lot of women, but Jimenez used her own experiences with infertility to write this in a delicate way.
I love Bri’s brother and how Jacob was donating a kidney to him. This was so touching that he would help a complete stranger and made me love him more.
There was a lot of miscommunication in this book which is a trope I don’t love so although I didn’t love this one as much as Part of Your World, I still enjoyed it. Jimenez blends romance with mental health in her books so well and this one is no exception.
Thank you Forever and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
