Yours Truly was an absolute emotional rollercoaster of a romance novel. Abby Jimenez knows how to balance humor with heavy topics, and I loved that this book also had such a diverse cast of characters. As usual, I loved the hero in the book, Jacob. His anxiety and sensory issues were so relatable, and I honestly read his as being on the spectrum. Briana was fiery and fun, and reminded me of some of my best girl friends. I loved how compassionately she felt for her family, and the length she would go to to keep them happy and healthy.
The only thing I didn't enjoy about this book was the miscommunication trope, mostly because it was one of those situations that would have been solved by a 5 minute conversation. I get that Briana was hung up on Jacob possibly still being in love with his ex, but if she would have just asked him that whole situation would have been cleared up right away. And while I don't normally care for unexpected pregnancies as a plot device, I honestly didn't mind it here because it happened at the end when I felt like they could handle that as a couple.
Abby Jimenez honestly doesn't disappoint and I always look forward to getting lost in the worlds she creates.

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐝: The epistolary/letters that kicked off the friendship between these two characters were so much fun, and I only wish they continued throughout because I loved them so much!
I had the pleasure of seeing Abby on tour in Brooklyn during the week that this book published, and everything she talked about is so evident in her writing. She puts so much thought, research, and personal experience into her characters and always handles sensitive subjects with the utmost care. She has such pride in her characters and you can really feel that when you read their stories.
As someone who experiences anxiety, I loved the way it was portrayed in Yours Truly. Jacob’s character was so sweet and caring, and I really loved the way Abby had Briana interact with him (and other people around them) when he was feeling uncomfortable. I also really related to Jacob’s loud, boisterous family and all their weird quirks.
𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞: My only criticism of this book was the characters’ codependency combined with their frustrating lack of communication. I understand the need to build tension but sometimes I struggle when a very simple conversation would resolve everything.

I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK!!! Abby, I don’t know how you do it but please keep it coming!
This is the type of book that sticks with you long past finishing it. Jacob and Briana were just the best! They had amazing chemistry and cared for each other so much. They both had so much emotional depth which made it difficult not to connect with them. It truly felt at times like you were inside their heads. You could tell the types of decisions they were going to make solely based on the fact that their characters were so fleshed out. Not a small feat in a romance book, so props to Abby!
Jacob is one of my all time favorite characters in a book. PERIOD. I don’t think I have ever related to a character, let alone a MMC, so much ever. He’s an introvert who would rather stay home and care for his plants with his dog, say less!!!
As a Minnesotan, it’s so fun to read all of the tiny MN details that Abby sprinkles throughout all of her books! It was also great to get peeks at Alexis and Daniel’s lives post-A Part of Your World. Overall, I highly recommend this one the next time you’re looking for a below-the-surface romance!

This is one of my new favorite books - by one of my favorite authors! As an ER nurse, I loved reading about two ER doctors. I could absolutely picture some of my attendings finding themselves in a situation like this.
I found both characters to be so charming and Jacob's family is just... amazing. I would love to meet all of them, including the grandpa - such humor that man has! I found I read through this book so fast! I know anyone loving rom coms will adore this as much as everyone else! It's a definite MUST READ.

⭐️⭐️ Truly Yours by Abby Jimenez
I absolutely adore Abby Jimenez. I have one more of hers to read and I’ve read them all. Her writing is smooth and polished. Her story telling is divine. But, and it breaks my heart to say it, this one fell a bit flat.
Briana and Jacob were just a tad too grating and boring. Briana is an ER doctor straight out of a divorce while Jacob is the new ER doctor who has recently ended a relationship and is now in an uncomfortable situation with his ex-girlfriend.
Talk about slooooooow burn. These two were so stuck in their own heads that they couldn’t get out of their own ways to get together. Their reasons and roadblocks for why the other couldn’t possibly feel anything for them was excessive and overdone. There was only so much misunderstanding and doubt that I could handle. Everything works out as it should, and always does, and it made for a smile at the end. But getting there was a bit hard.
Plus she added a bit of woke politics needlessly here and there that was a bit off-putting.
This was a solid effort for a book, just not Jimenez’s best one.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this title for review.

I love the anxiety rep. Social anxiety is something I’ve dealt with my entire life and it was so nice to read a book that was so accepting. It’s nice to see someone with social anxiety be loved and appreciated. Despite the fact that this book deals with heavy topics, it was really enjoyable. It was really funny and sweet. I think this is one of my favorite Abby Jimenez books. Thanks to the publisher for this ARC.

Read this if you like:
- Fake dating
-Work romance (Healthcare)
- Dual POV
- Many different tropes
This was a fun, fast paced read that touched on difficult topics. I loved both Briana and Jacob. Especially getting an insight with Jacob and his social anxiety and his quiet moments. There were some things that I didnt like but I dont want to spoil the book for anyone. Other than that I would definitely recommend you read this book.
Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

In Abby Jiminez' latest novel, we see ER doctor Briana get off on the wrong foot with newcomer physician Jacob. But when he writes her a letter to clear up their misunderstanding and explain his anxiety, the two begin an epistolary friendship that grows into something more. After her father leaving and her ex-husband's infidelity, Briana is hesitant to trust any man--even one as perfect-seeming as Jacob. But when Jacob decides to donate a kidney to Briana's brother and the two begin fake dating to fool his family into thinking he's over his ex, it becomes hard to resist his charms. To bad she thinks he's still hung up on his ex and he thinks she's just not interested.
Abby Jiminez is a wonderful storyteller, and Briana and Jacob are two fantastic leads. They are each fully three-dimensional and seem perfect yet flawed. Their lack of communication is frustrating, and I hate how Jiminez constantly uses pregnancy as a plot point, but it's an enjoyable read overall.
Thanks to Forever for my ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵!
Every book Abby writes is fantastic and I was nervous to start reading, and guess what, yes, she did it again, another perfect story from her. I loved every page!

I loved this book so much. I love the relationship that the couple has and how they grow to cherish and care for each other. Chapter 47 had me crying so hard. This is my new favorite book.

I loved Part of Your World last year so I was excited to head back in and bread Brianna's story.
I really enjoyed the hospital setting and the way the characters got to know each other through letters. There's the great banter and connection that Jimenez always creates so beautifully-- the kind that goes deep into the workings of people's woundings, and how we can heal and grow through love. Highly recommend this book, and all her books.

I love a good enemies to lovers story and this was no exception.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved all of the characters and this book managed to avoid most of the issues that I can have with romance books. This wasn't my favourite of Abby's books, but I enjoyed it all the same.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars
I also cannot express into words how much I loved this book. I also cannot express into words how much I love Brianna and Jacob.
Brianna has given up on men. Jacob is the new and unwanted doctor at his new hospital - the one he took to get away from his ex, who is also dating his brother.
Jacob turns out to be a perfect match for a kidney transplant for her brother.
That starts the journey of enemies to friends to fake dating to lovers. Dual POV meant that I was screaming at both characters that all they had to do was be honest with each other because they loved each other.
Ugh. Whyyyyyy does Abby Jimenez write books that are so emotionally breaking??
Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Once again Abby Jimenez mixes tough topics with bursts of humor. Jacob’s anxiety was palpable at times and Bri’s trauma response and insecurities to her past made me want to wrap her in a hug. Their vulnerabilities gave me all the feels, especially when they understood each other and adjusted to quietly accommodate. The care in which these were treated was so well done. The grandpa and foul-mouthed parrot helped balance it all out with humor to lighten the mood when needed.
I simply adored the letter writing and little notes they left each other.
Other things I loved:
💌 fake dating
💌 3-legged dog that sensed Jacob’s anxiety
💌 a tiny smidge of that magic we saw in Part of a Your World
I can’t recommend this book enough!

VERDICT: a swoonworthy, emotional, & hilarious workplace, friends to lovers, opposites attract STEM romance exploring deep themes related to anxiety, chronic illness in family & divorce - PERFECTION!!!

Love this story! A beautiful, heartfelt romance that will pull at your heartstrings. It addresses real issues with real people and I felt so connected to them. It does focus around miscommunication which is not usually my cup of tea, but this was beautifully, beautifully written.

Super cute, fun and quick!
This book really did have all the best of my favorite tropes!
The characters were really likable and i felt the anxiety representation was very well done. I related to the male MC a lot in that way.
I felt that the story was giving greys anatomy vibes in some ways and i really enjoyed the letters at the beginning.
It’s giving: Enemies to lovers, medical setting, fake dating and anxiety representation

Another Abby Jimenez book that I couldn’t put down. Oh my goodness I loved this story so much. Jacob is definitely now my book boyfriend.
My only complaint is the miscommunication trope. The rest of the story was still amazing and I rated 4.5 stars!

I loved this book! Briana and Jacob were such engaging characters and their love story is charming. I liked the fake relationship trope and how Briana and Jacob begin their friendship by writing letters to each other. That was such a fun way for them to get to know one another. Jacob was an endearing character as he battled his anxiety while still working at a stressful job as an ER doctor. Their extended families were fun! The organ donor aspect of the book was interesting but I would have liked a little more on the recovery process for Jacob and Benny. Other than that it was another great book from this author.

Gosh, this book was SO GOOD!! I have loved all of her books, but this one I was so sad when it ended. I love how Abby addresses issues people go through with such thoroughness and empathy.
