Abby Jimenez has been a must read author for me for some time. Her books always take me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and Yours Truly was no exception. I loved both main characters from beginning to end. I love the letter writing element and how it brought them together. There were parts of this story that really had me laughing out loud and I loved that in any of Abby's books. I'm not a fan of a third act breakup, but I understand how this is realistic and would have been a real reaction for Briana based on her life experiences. Abby does third act breakups well. I thought that the anxiety representation was so well done. It was extremely relatable and I found myself highlighting sections again and again.
I did think that the pacing was off in parts of this book. Some scenes were really described in detail and then weeks/months were skipped over in a few paragraphs. I also found that when Jacob saw Briana for the first time and describes her, he incorrectly uses "Hispanic". Hispanic means that it relates to Spain or Spanish-speaking countries and cultures. People can be Hispanic and be any race. Not all Hispanics look the same. I understand what was trying to be said, but it could have been done differently.
Overall, this was a fun read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you NetGalley and Forever Publishing for this eARC. All opinions are my own.

I know I am in the minority here, but this book was a miss for me. Happy Ever After Playlist and Part of Your World are 2 of my favorite books so I was very excited to read this one. I loved the letter writing at the start of this book but at 30% in I find myself uninterested in continuing or seeing what happens.

Super fun, super cute and super cool read! This is by far my favorite romcom read of the year!
Jacob and Bri are both doctors, who meet at the hospital ER and steal your heart. I simply adore Jacob, he is the kind of man every girl dreams about. This was a 5 star second chance romance where enemy to lover trope totally worked and took it to next level.
Thank you @netgalley and @readforeverpub for the gifted digital galley! This cute, funny beauty releases on April 11, 2023

abby jimenez does it again!
i was a huge fan of part of your world, so when i heard about this i was ecstatic.
one thing that i really enjoy about abby jimenez's books is the different couple pairings we get. i don’t read a lot about doctors, but i’m always looking for one and this was perfect.
briana is still the spitfire she was in the first book! seeing her dynamic with her family & brother was So sweet.
Jacob Maddox is the newest McDreamy! i loved him from the beginning. he took up for her, and made it fair from the beginning - even when he didn’t know her.
it was funny, angsty, heartwarming.
i definitely recommend!

Simply amazing & beautiful. The way i went into this one determined I wouldn’t let it bring me to tears was completely delusional. Just like Abby Jimenez’s books this one did not disappoint. Every one of her stories feels unique and takes on a life of it’s own. Our couple Brianna & Jacob have been added to my couples hall of fame.
My favorite parts of this story were the letters (YES LETTERS) that they wrote back forth to each other. Without giving anything away the last one Jacob writes made me ugly cry far longer than i care to admit. Thinking about this story brings tears to my eyes.
While this story can be read as a stand alone, it connects to the authors other book Part of Your World. That story was my first read by Jimenez last year and I will not stop screaming to the roof tops how good it was. This story follows Brianna & Jacob as they navigate very difficult times in there lives post traumatic break ups. Brianna ending a marriage that ended with cheating & Jacob’s ex now getting married to his brother (less than a year after ending their relationship. Yes totally messed up). Brianna & Jacob are the best of what the other needs.
I just love the way the author sheds light on real life difficult moments and leaves the reader feeling hopeful. She gives these broken characters an Angel in their life to bring them out of the darkness. Anything this author writes I will devour in a few days. Can’t wait to do a reread with the audio book!

This book started out so strong! I really liked Bri in Part of Your World and was so excited for her book. The anxiety rep is fantastic in this book. And Jacob is a fabulous MMC. I liked the dual POV and their banter was hilarious. But things started to go down around the 75% mark. The miscommunication in this book is ridiculous. He flat out tells her how he feels and she doesn’t believe him and refuses to talk to him. And then, the thing that really made me angry was using her previous miscarriage as a plot twist. Having her yell it out to him when she was upset was so unacceptable. It made me so sad and lose quite a bit of respect for the author. It isn’t something you don’t mention for 90% of the book and use to solely allow for the third act breakup. Just no.

Abby Jimenez has done it again! Yours Truly is a sweet and substantive story about two doctors who are amid relationship woes, when they strike up a deal to fake date to better their situations. I loved Brianna and Jacob's characters, they had such great chemistry and an easy rapport with each other right from the start. Although I usually don't like the whole miscommunication trope, this one for some reason hit differently and didn't bother me as much.

Yours Truly is a sweet, heartfelt romance that you won’t be able to put down. The characters are complex and relatable. I adored the supporting cast just as much as the MCs. Though you should definitely read the trigger warnings, I believe that Jimenez's representation of anxiety is handled with great care, and it's heartwarming to see the characters support each other through their struggles.
If you're a fan of all the popular romance tropes, you're in for a treat! From dislike-to-love to fake dating, workplace romance, and friends-to-lovers, Abby Jimenez puts it all in a blender and serves up a smoothie of love that is impossible to resist.
Overall, Yours Truly is a must-read that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. A huge thank you to @netgalley and @readforeverpub for an early e-copy of the book.

I had such a fantastic time reading this book - I read it all in one go! I was hooked from the start!
I didn’t think i could enjoy a book this thoroughly - it was cheesy but so well written and the male MC Jacob was to die for!!! I adore this man so much he sets the bar in heaven. The fake dating trope is so cliché typically but it is very well done in the book - the premise of it all alone is so unique and exciting.
The trauma response and the natural desire to refuse to allow yourself to be loved that the female MC Brianna goes through is so raw and exposing. Brianna refuses to trust the men that are suppose to matter to her and the fear she feels as she helplessly falls in love with Jacob feels so incredibly real.
And although Jacob is described as having ‘social anxiety’ this character is unintentionally some of the best autism rep i have seen in media in awhile. I found myself feeling Jacob’s anxieties and his feelings of being overwhelmed right alongside him while reading because i myself experienced so many of these things as an autistic adult. and the way Brianna so quickly adapts to him and makes no fuss in accommodating his needs and even anticipating them without making it feel condescending is absolutely beautiful. the way his POV chapters were written i could slide into his shoes and borderline feel overwhelmed with him.
i honestly adore two grown functioning adults who are so OBVIOUSLY in love with each other being so nervous to say how they feel. they cannot fathom the other possibly having real feelings for them and it’s so sweet. this book hading my AUDIBLY reacting to so many things. my feet were kicking just so giddy with this book. it is such a fun read i can’t get over it. although i did get an ARC for this novel - i’ll definitely pick up a copy to support the author.
Thank you Net Galley and Forever/(Grand Central Publishing) for this ARC.

Every book penned by Jimenez keeps getting better and better!
Yours Truly new hearttrob, Jacob, was so genuinely portrayed in this story. He definitely wears his heart on his sleeve. This couples meet-cute might not have gone as planned, but eventually they find their way with words as they exchange letters. These penpals form a bond as each are reeling on the heels of bad breakups.
Briana is struggling to uplift her brother as he awaits a donor for a life-saving transplant and her divorce is final. Jacob's anxiety continues to get the best of him in social situation, and now his ex-girlfriend is marrying his brother. He prefers the solitude of his plant room and journals, but is willing to step-outside of his comfort zone for Briana.
The dual POV allowed the reader in the heads of the main characters to sympathize with their struggles for a happily ever after. The trust they build as they develop a routine was endearing, but there's got to be hiccup. Jacob's grand gesture had me clutching my heart, who opens themselves up like he did to win the girl back?
In Yours Truly, we get to revisit our friends from Part of Your World (5-star read too). No baby goats this time, but we have a foul-mouth parrot! This romance is a gem, and the whole cast of characters were fabulous.
Thank you Forever for the advance reader copy.

Abby Jimenez does it again. Packs a range of emotions into a story. I loved every bit of this, and how Abby ties it into the world of her other books. Jacob and Brianna feel relatable, with their own baggage and goals, and how it weaves in with other characters just feels like real life - you cannot help but root for them!
You'll be so glad you picked this up!
Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for the ARC.

Yea so that’s just a no from me. Two MCs in their 30s (who are DOCTORS) who literally are incapable of communicating the most basic thoughts and feelings and instead spend 70% of the book making assumptions about how the other person feels… throw in a dramatic side plot that served no purpose to the actual story other than emitting shock value plus a serious topic at the end that barely gets discussed… I think I’m done with Abby Jimenez 🫠

Yours Truly is an authentic and raw rom com between two opposites who just work better together than apart.
This is my second Abby book and she undeniably writes with such passion and emotion you can feel it in her words. Brianna and Jacob are two imperfect individuals dealing with their own trauma and inner demons and I loved that each became the safe place for the other to fall. I was nervous going into the beginning of the book but honestly everything ironed itself out as the story progressed.
I'm kind of over the fake dating trope but Yours Truly might have changed my mind. This was forced proximity, great slow burn and it all felt very earned.
There are a wonderful epistolary moments within the book that I think are so special and only amplify the voices of each character. Abby definitely knows how to write soft and sweet MMC with such tenderness and loyalty to their women. Jacob was an AMAZING character and I loved seeing his development as he works within his own limitations.
There are heavier themes of depression and mental health that I think are handled with delicacy and realism. Some things happen within the book that many readers might not like but in all honesty I wouldn't have changed a thing.
"We're all a little broken, Briana. We are a mosaic. We're made up of all those we've met and all the things we've been through. There are parts of us that are colorful and dark and jagged and beautiful. I love every piece of you. Even the ones you wish didn't exist."
I laughed and I got misty eyed and for me thats the true makings of a 5 star in my opinion. A lot of the content in this book fell outside of my personal preferences but gosh dang it I still really loved this book.

Thank you @foreverpub @netgalley for my gifted copy
Thoughts~
Abby Jimenez is the QUEEN of romance IMO! Every time I read her new book I love it more than the last. I didn’t think that was possible. Each new male character is my new book boyfriend as well. She writes such relatable characters that have real world problems. At one point I really wanted to dislike a character, but Briana eventually saw the good in her, so I did too!
While reading I swooned, cheered, teared up and swooned some more. There is nothing I didn’t love about this story! If you are an AJ fan like I am then you won’t want to miss this one!

This story had be legit laughing out loud and smiling like a happy idiot while I read. The miscommunication between the two characters bothered me a bit - I think because of how long it lasted - but overall this was a really great read and I would absolutely recommend it to others!

Yours Truly has everything I expect from an Abby Jimenez book, which made it a joy to read. Abby usually builds her books around a health or emotional issue showing the range of emotion that comes with dealing with infertility, grief, or a chronic illness. In Yours Truly, Dr. Briana Ortiz (a character we first met in Part of Your World) is dealing with the emotional impact of the end of her marriage and a brother who needs a kidney transplant. Dr. Jacob Maddox, her newest co-worker and potential arch-nemesis, is a serious introvert with social anxiety recovering from a bad breakup. Trying to course correct from bad start, they begin exchanging letters and learn to see beyond what each projects to the world.
I truly loved everything about this book. The characters are fully developed with all their strengths and quirks. These are people I would want to have as friends in real life. The supporting characters give a sense of history and give you insight into why Bri and Jacob are who they are. The flow of their relationship was believable, though there is just a tiny spark of magic realism that I enjoyed. Yours Truly proves you can't go wrong with an Abby Jimenez book.

I'm not even 100% finished with this book yet, and I already know it's 5 stars. Everything about it is precious. I am in love with the characters, the story, and the anxiety representation is so on point that it actually has brought me to tears several times. 100% recommend.

Yours Truly is so good I didn't want it to end. Briana Ortiz is an er Dr up for a promotion, her divorce is almost final and her bother is running out of time for a donor kidney. All this and their is a new er Dr Jacob Maddox aka Dr death who looses 7 patience on the first day. It isn't until Dr Maddox writes Bri a letter after interrupting her cry in the sob closet that she wonders if Jacob is just shy and misunderstood. Though it takes alot of Bri to let anyone in. From her dad leaving, and her husband of a decade cheating on her with her best friend the wall around her heart are high. This book is so freaking good.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this digital arc. All opinions are my own.

Honestly, Abby Jimenez can do no wrong, in my book. This follow-up to "Part of Your World" features all the things I loved about that book -- well-written characters the reader can empathize with, a great dog, and so much FEELING, which is what Jimenez does best. She can write a character's inner emotional workings like no other romance author I've read. Note to readers: You don't have to have read "Part of Your World" before reading this book, but if you DID read "Part of Your World," there's some fun follow-ups and callbacks in there!

This book truly made me forget I was reading and i devoured it. This was a book I put off reading for so long and I’m so upset I did because it was just the read I needed to get me out of my reading slump. Honestly reading about Brianna and Jacob was such a delight. They were just so cute. Their connection and communication were everything! Also, I will forever be a sucker for the fake dating trope so this and the characters are a perfect match 🥰
