This was classic Abby Jiminez, strong female character, an interesting storyline, and lots of adorable humor woven throughout. Whether you like her books in the end or not, you’ll be sure to laugh out loud a time or to.

This was amazing mental health representation, especially showing it through the male main character. This is something not often explored and super important that men are shown in vulnerable mental spaces.

It showed the challenges of living with anxiety really well. As someone with anxiety, and especially, social anxiety, the way Jacob dealt with everyday life really showed how challenging every day life is living with anxiety.

My only hang up was just the lack of communication between the main characters during their fake relationship. They inevitably start to care for each other beyond friendship, but did absolutely everything except discuss their feelings. I know it helped move the plot along, so I understand it, but I personally dislike the miscommunication trope with a passion. But, had they communicated in a healthy manor, the book would’ve been half its length, so I get it, even if I don’t like it.

Overall, I enjoyed this, and always enjoy seeing former Abby Jiminez characters make an appearance!

I LOVED this book. I was sucked in honestly after the first chapter and couldn’t put it down! This book did such a good job portraying social anxiety in so many different ways and I thought that Jacob was the cutest character. He is now ranked as one of the best book boyfriends! I loved how independent and supporting Briana was.

I really really didn't like Part of Your World, but I thought I'd give this author another try. This book was much stronger, in my opinion.

The characters were solid and their relationship was believable until we hit about 300 pages, and then it fell victim to the common fake dating blunder: two grown characters acting unbelievably childish by refusing to tell the other they have caught feelings. If you're yearning for each other for 3/4 of the novel and still can't talk about it more than 300 pages in, that's silly and incredibly annoying to read. The third-act breakup also felt like a bit of a stretch. I think for the first 2/3 of this book I was reading and anticipating it would be a 5-star book, but by the end, it definitely dropped to closer to 4.

That said, I still liked it! It was a good read, and the characters were charming. I think Abby Jimenez is a hit-or-miss author for me (though I find her fixation on the military incredibly bizarre and alarming).

Abby Jimenez truly never disappoints. I absolutely loved this book. I love how relatable she made the characters. I too went through a miscarriages so reading about a character who has been through one too was amazing. I also love how she had Jacob who struggled with anxiety because that is so relatable. It makes people feel like they aren't alone.

this love story was honestly so cute and perfect. I loved it all. the messiness and just everything about it. truly they were made for each other.

if you need a good romance I definitely recommend this.

I'm never deceived by Abby's writing. What she promises is what us readers get in spades. Her penmanship and beautiful mind are a gift I feel we sometimes dont deserve, but we are grateful, for and I for one am humble to know I can read a book written by Abby.

I'm even more grateful and humbled as the daughter of a Salvadorean inmigrant and as a high functioning severely anxious person, to see somebody with those two simple charactetistics portrayed as the main couple of a romance novel. What a breath of fresh air and treat this story was. And if you take one thing from the story of Bri and Jacob, is that sometimes love knocks on your door ehen you least expect it, so BELIEVE it can happen. I tend to think God has forsaken me from ever finding love cause I'm 42 and single and havent had a boyfriend in 17 years. Haven't even gone on a date in more than 12, so in reality I live vicariously thru these stories that more than stories, they are meant as a reminder that yes, this can happen to you too. Yes, you can find love in the least expected way. Yes, there is hope for a second chance.

And Brianna, having separated from her husband and almost completed her divorce never thought that old schcool letters and notes left to and from her new co worker would made her fall in love again. I'll be honest, I cried remembering those days in high school when I sneaked in notes and letters to my then boyfriend. He hated them. But I persevered and made him fall in love w me.

Jacob on the other hand is a reflection of my daily demons. I'm a high functioning anxious person with severe episodes of extreme anxiety tho I dont have social panic. I saw myself in him and cried along with his insecurities cause many times, I've seen myself doubtful and worried for things that don't even call for it. He's the swooniest MC I've seen Abby bring to life tho. I just see him in my mind's eye and most DEF could fall in love with him at first sight.

What a treat for me this book was. By God that Abby's penmanship only gets better with time and the stories she brings to life match with our everyday struggles and life experiencies. I'm pretty selective when I read an author, but anythibg and everything Abby writes is an auto buy for me.

Thank you dear Abby for the gift of this story. Thank you for making such a wonderful female MC and portray her in the best of lights. This means so much to me, and my whole entire Salvadorean community that inmigrates to find themselves a better way of life. I'm sure many Salvadoreans inmigrant women like myself, can relate to Bri in many ways. Thank you for showing the world that even with a condition such as severe Anxiety, people can still be professional and capable, as Jabob was as an ER Dr.

Kudos to you Abby, for yet another crown jewel.!

Abby Jimenez is an auto-read author for me so I was thrilled to receive the arc for her newest romance, Yours Truly. I love that Abby's characters pop up in all of her books and we get to catch up with some our favourite couples. Yours Truly is Briana's book, Alexis' best friend from Part of Your World. I was so happy that Briana's character got to be explored entirely as I enjoyed her so much as the best-friend/sidekick. She is a hilarious, brave, strong woman scorned by love, divorced and caring for her brother who is awaiting a kidney donor. I relate to Briana in many ways and it made me adore her. Enter Jacob Maddox, her new coworker in the ER. Jacob is absolutely everything. He was such a well developed character. I feel like I KNOW him. He deals with high functioning anxiety, is highly introverted and has the heart of gold. I thought this representation of anxiety in a male lead was so refreshing. As they embark on a fake dating scheme, as the reader I got to experience these two characters follow a genuine progression of falling in love. It wasn't instant, unrealistic or overly cheesy. It was everything that I wish for myself in real life! The way the lines between fake and real blurred, the angst and longing was CRAZY to read through. I couldn't get enough of the build up and tension between them. Although by the 75% mark, I found the pining and miscommunication of feelings getting slightly repetitive. That would be my only tiny critique. I loved the pacing and structure of the writing with having dual perspectives. It helped to get to know Briana and Jacob so well as individuals This is, by a long shot, my favourite book of Abby's. JACOB FOREVER!

4.5 Stars!!!!

This was my first Abby Jimenez book and now I’m kicking myself for not having been reading her work all along.

Briana is an ER doctor going through a messy divorce, ready to throw herself into work when the colleague whose position she was supposed to be a shoe in for informs her that the newest doctor in her unit is her new competition. She’s ready to pronounce Dr. Jacob Maddox as her biggest nemesis when he writes her a heartfelt letter and turns everything around.

The giddy feeling you get when you first start texting someone you have a crush on is how I felt reading this book. I love letters and I love fake dating and this has both. Jacob was the kind of male protagonist that I don’t normally read about and now I’m regretting all the golden retriever book boyfriends I’ve written off. His anxiety and his candor was so refreshing in a hero.

The conflict stems hugely from miscommunication which isn’t for everyone, however, this is the type of miscommunication I totally buy into as a reader and understand as a person who has been in complicated relationships. I felt all the characters emotions and the ending had me tearing up and adding it to my list of biggest book romantic gestures ever.

Now excuse me while I go buy Abby Jimenez’s entire backlist!

Rating: 4.5 ⭐️

Yours Truly was an absolutely delightful and heartwarming read with an amazing premise and characters.

This is a complete standalone but characters from Part of Your World do make several cameos, so I would suggest just reading that book first.

It’s dual POVs of the main characters, Briana and Jacob, and there are some great tropes like the one bed, fake dating, and a workplace romance. I would highly recommend though checking the content and trigger warnings.

The overall premise and story development was fantastic. The writing was so well done and there were several sensitive subjects that were handled beautifully. The depiction and discussions of social anxiety, caring for a sick loved one, and dealing with trauma were so realistic and written carefully. I will say though, the one critique of this story was all the repetitive dialogue.

There were definitely some amusing, heartfelt, swoon-worthy, angsty, and heartbreaking moments though. All the side characters were fantastic as well. I have to say one of my favorite aspects of this story was all the handwritten letters exchanged between Briana and Jacob. There interactions through those letters honestly just made me smile.

The hero, Jacob, was incredible. I honestly was not expecting to love him as much as I did. His gentleness, kindness and protectiveness was just so beautiful. He’s definitely the definition of a soft-cinnamon hero. His struggles and insecurities with anxiety were so relatable as well.

The heroine, Briana, was also amazing. She was such a caring, passionate and understanding character. Her struggles with trust and love were heartbreaking but so realistic. I do wish that aspect had been a bit more explored/discussed upon though, as it felt somewhat rushed at the end.

The romance between Briana and Jacob was everything I could have asked for. They connected in such a deep and profound manner, that was just so heartwarming. They honestly were the definition of true soulmates who understood each others wants and needs. While, it was a slow burn romance their banter, chemistry and tension made it all worth it. The mutual pining had me weak! I will say though, there was some miscommunication/misunderstandings between them, which got a bit annoying towards the end.

One of my biggest worries going into this book was Jacob’s feelings towards his ex-girlfriend and thankfully it was not that bad! His feelings for her were complicated/muddied but it had more to do with the rejection and hurt she caused. I appreciated that, that whole situation wasn’t dragged out and he was able to close that chapter of his life early on.

The third act conflict was absolutely heartbreaking but completely understandable. I did love how patient and understanding they both were and that it was resolved somewhat quickly. The conclusion and epilogue was just perfect and heartwarming.

Overall, just a charming and heartfelt read with a beautiful romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I binged-listened to the audiobooks of Abby Jimnenez's first three books and didn't know if they could get better. Then, I read Part of Your World and it was amazing. I am so excited that she is continuing with the characters from that book in Yours Truly. It was both delightful and relevant. I was also happy to see a male character with severe anxiety portrayed, as we usually see that reflected in female characters. If you are a fan of romance, Abby Jimenez has given us another must-read with Yours Truly.

I love Jimenez’s books. They’re always so fun with some deeper subjects mixed in. She has such a talent for writing both humor, real life and not always easy subjects to write about.

With that being said- this was probably my least fave book from her. Not to say I didn’t like it! Because I did. It just didn’t feel quite like her and hold me captive like her others. I still enjoyed it though and will always look forward to what she has coming out next!

Just wow. This book DELIVERED on the anxiety rep, funny moments, swoony moments, tension, and family dynamics. I am obsessed with Jacob and Briana, they were so accepting of each other and went through so much during this book.

I loved seeing Alexis and Daniel from Part of Your World show up - their scenes were some of my favorites, and Alexis reacting to the fake dating is 100% me.

The Grey's Anatomy feels with the hospital ER and supply closet were 10/10

There were so many moments I was almost crying from laughing, I just really loved this one and I think Part of Your World & Yours Truly are her best books

I reallyyyyy wanted to give this book 5 stars but there were two parts that really bothered me and I just couldn't get over them, so I took off half a star. It was the fact that she knew she was having unprotected sex and didn't even think about getting plan b after. As a doctor, she should have thought of that, and if she didn't want to take that, it should have been explained. Her yelling at Jacob about her miscarriage was really off putting and felt icky as way to introduce that. Then, both of them jumping to conclusions about the other one got really frustrating because it was happening every page. I know it was explained on her part, which I really loved, but it felt like overkill at some points, and I think the book could have been shorter due to this

4.5/5 Stars; 2/5 Spice

This is a standalone book, however, I STRONGLY recommend that you read all of Abby's books chronologically to get to enjoy all the character crossovers (Order: read the Friend Zone series, then Part of Your World, then this)

Okay yes, I have had this book on my TBR shelf for way too long. Yes, it was as beautifully written and the characters were perfectly complex as every other romance novel Abby has gifted us with. Yes I loved this book SO much!

But I also felt like the slow burn was driving me crazy, and there were many miscommunications/ unsaid communications in this book I got frustrated at times. I also feel like Bri's struggles with her divorce were really a far away factor until the last 30 pages of the book, and while I get that follows how stress and grief is processed in real life, I wish it could have been a factor we heard about more, especially in her internal dialogues throughout the book.

HOWEVER, I will strongly stan Dr. Jacob Maddox as the true cinnamon-roll hero he deserves. The journal, the kidney, and his immediate adoration of Bri. He was really the perfect boy, and the representation of how anxiety presents itself was done with so much respect. Literally you can't help but swoon over him!

Brief Plot: Briana is coming up on her divorce being finalized, and between that and her brothers kidney dialysis treatment and hopeful promotion, she is STRESSED. Then she literally runs into the new male ER doctor, Jacob Maddox, and they don't get off on a great start. But when he writes her a letter explaining all the misinterpretations of their interaction, they form a friendship. Then Jacob learns he may be a suitable kidney donor for her brother, and asks Bri if she will be his pretend girlfriend. As the two get closer, they have to learn if their friendship is just naturally cohesive, or if they are also romantically compatible.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an eARC copy of Yours Truly written by Abby Jimenez. This is my honest review.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this ARC. I was first introduced to this author through Book of the Month subscription and having picked “Part of Your World” (POYW) by this same author. I’ll admit, the cover of POYW did not immediately catch my attention and actually took me a couple months before I picked up that book but once I did, I couldn’t put it down! So, when I saw NetGalley add Yours Truly as an ARC option, I immediately had to request it.

I loved that it felt like the “typical” roles were not found anywhere in this book - especially with a very common fake-dating trope. The main male character has severe social anxiety and we get to see that throughout the whole book. We get to go into Jacob’s mind and thought process and his person as a whole. We see the female main character, Briana, face major dilemma’s in her personal life as well as her work life. It feels easy to get lost in the character development, the plot, and how relatable some scenes are when dealing with Jacob’s anxiety and family dynamics. (Missing gallbladder here and I know exactly how you feel, Jacob, when you have to Google bathroom locations before you visit anywhere).

Abby Jimenez touched based and never left you craving for more with any of the situations (without spoiling anything): she follows through with the brother’s kidney issue, the letters written between Briana and Jacob, and the pending promotion that Briana deserves. Abby was so … free(?) with her writing and what she said. Making the comment that Briana’s life was playing out as certain romance book tropes and being “romcom-my” it’s like she’s reading the reader’s minds!

I hope that everyone who enjoys romance books with the “one-bed-trope,” fake dating trope, slow burn trope, and second chances, gives this book a try because I seriously cannot say more good things about this book. I often give 5 full blown star reads but this one truly knocked it out of the park for me with how heart touching and perfectly executed everything was. If you take anything from my posts this year, let it be that you just read this one book!

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez charmed me, frustrated me endlessly, made me cry like a baby, and ultimately left me content.

I adored Jacob and Briana, both together and as individuals. They frustrated me beyond words at times and the miscommunication / misunderstanding trope went on a bit too long in my opinion. However, I understood why both were hesitant to risk their hearts after having them shattered by their previous partners.

Jacob was the sweetest cinnamon roll and Briana seemed tough, but she too melted for Jacob. They agreed to fake-date for mutually beneficial reasons and learned to be “harmless to each other.” They communicated so well about their needs, their boundaries, their triggers, about everything except their growing feelings, because of course.

I really enjoyed Jacob and Briana's slow burn, friends to lovers trajectory and just wish we would have gotten a bit more of them being together, together. Still, Yours Truly was another fantastic read by Abby Jimenez and I am hopeful that we get to see more of Jacob’s family in future books, too.

This book was absolute perfection!!

Abby Jimenez thank you for writing a story that is so emotionally beautiful and romantic!! I adored every single second of it! Gosh, I don't even know where to begin...

...okay so, this book had everything I could ever want in a romance story! Briana and Jacob shared something so special and those emotions just flew off of the pages! I found myself clutching my chest, and just taking a second to absorb all of the love, healing, and trust that these characters had between them.

Briana was such an incredibly resilient character. I loved reading about her navigating through her trauma and learning to trust and be brave.

Jacob was everything!!! To be loved the way Jacob loves Briana would truly be a blessing! My heart was so happy reading about the way he poured into his love for Brianna, and how important it was for him to be the best man he could be for her. The anxiety representation was spot on. I related so much!!

This book dealt with trauma, trust, sacrifice, patience, and an epic love story.

“Love shows up. That’s how you know when it’s real."

Brianna and Jacob showed up for each other. They had such a special love and I will be thinking about this book for a very long time. It was absolutely incredible! So I of course highly recommend. I'm so happy I got to experience reading some thing so amazing!!!❤️

I absolutely adore Abby Jimenez. I have adored every book I've read by her. They always have the sweetest stories and the most relatable characters plus she always has the cutest animals in her book. This book was no exception.
I am a sucker for a fake dating trope and this book does it beautifully. These two were both so stubborn and so stupid that I just wanted to smack them but in the best possible way. These characters had the most obvious chemistry i have read in a long time.
I also loved the families in this book! The brother with kidney condition was such a great character. As someone with a disability (not kidney disease though so if I'm wrong correct me) I felt like he felt very accurate. I also loved Jacob's family. I wanted his family to be mine. Also as a bonus there is a 3 legged dog named Lieutenant Dan!

There is just so much to love about Abby Jiminez’s writing 🤭💖 I was able to connect with both of the MCs - Briana and Jacob. I loved how their relationship progressed and I could really sense their connection 🥰

The anxiety rep was done extremely well 👏🏼 & the tropes that were included helped this story play out so nicely ☺️

I think I loved this story the most out of all her other books that I’ve read - except the last 50ish pages really threw me off 😅 (won’t be spoiling this here bc it hasn’t been talked about during the publishing process- but if you want to know, DM me) …so thus the 4 star rating, but I HIGHLY recommend giving this book a chance 💖

Full disclosure that I expected this to be a typical cheesy romance, but I’d heard great things about Abby Jimenez and wanted to give this a read.
It was great! Loved our two main characters, the enemies to friends to lovers was well done and the chemistry worked between them.
This was a fun light read, and I can see why Abby Jimenez is so popular!

I had heard some mixed reviews about Yours Truly, so I went in with pretty low expectations. Thankfully, I absolutely loved it.

First, let’s get this out of the way: the fact that these two grown-ass adults wouldn’t talk about their feelings for each other was super frustrating. But, I’m trying to give miscommunication (or lack of communication) more grace nowadays, because how many people in real life would be so open about their feelings after knowing someone for a short time? They were protecting their hearts and that is pretty reasonable once you think about it.

I absolutely loved Jacob. His anxiety and guilt reminded me so much of my husband that I was so desperate to reach through my Kindle and hug him so tightly. I loved that he tried SO hard for Briana, I loved how supportive his family was, I loved that he started letters back and forth. I SOBBED when he gave Bri his journal at the end of the book. Jacob must be protected at all costs.

Briana was so funny and bright, but her refusal to believe the good about her relationship with Jacob broke my heart. I loved that her friendship with Alexis was such a vital part of this story.

Yours Truly was so engaging, it was impossible to stop reading. The characters and their story felt SO real to me - I laughed with them, cried with them, celebrated with them. Can’t wait to add the paperback to my shelves in April!

If you haven't read an Abby Jimenez book yet, consider yourself lucky. You have so many wonderful books that you will love ahead of you! I found her first book shortly after it was released and have loved each subsequent release as much if not more. She should give author classes on writing banter.--but it's not just the witty banter. Serious topics are covered but are handled beautifully. She's an absolute auto buy for me.
