So much yes for Yours Truly!!!
This book read exactly like the thoughtful romance I needed right now. Classic friends to lovers trope with a fake dating twist.
I absolutely enjoyed Briana and Jacob and bought the flow of sparks between them wholeheartedly. I liked that it was a slowish burn, I really liked that the other characters felt believable and purposeful to the story, and I really really liked that it didn't end where I thought the obvious ending would be. 10 pts Abby Jimenez for that. I found myself laughing outloud, feeling hopeful at times, and understanding the main characters' struggles as I read, often way past my bedtime. I loved Abby Jimenez' writing style and word choices so much. I also appreciated the way in which the author dealt with the effects of infidelity, anxiety and family issues. Overall, a thoroughly fun and great read.
This was my first Abby Jimenez book, but am definitely going to be reading more of hers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for a digital advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Will definitely be gifting this book it comes out in April 2023!

I have to give a full disclaimer that I started the book and decided to put it down for a little while when my anxiety was very high.
But when I was at the right headspace this book hit all the marks for me🥹
Like Jacob, our MMC, I suffer from anxiety and it was extremely fascinating to see the care and love that Abby put into writing this book. I never felt so seen before.
What you can expect:
🔬STEM MCs
🦮 MMC has an adorable rescue dog
🥹 Both MC have been really hurt in their previous relationships and need to trust again
📖 Epistolary: because of his anxiety, he initially writes her letters instead of speaking to her
🥰 Hero falls first and has a super gooey core and would do anything for the heroine. I believe he’s an enneagram 9
💗 FMC makes him feel seen and it’s just so brilliantly done
I absolutely cannot wait to own a physical copy of this book. It’s beautiful, angsty but heartwarming at the same time.
Thank you to Forever for my ARC.
Please read CW before going in or DM me for extra information 💗

Books that include neurodivergent rep make my heart swell. Loved this so much! I laughed, I cried - so good!
Loved that Abby Jimenez weaved in her own personal story. The story def felt personal. The book does include the miscommunication trope, which usually drives me crazy, but at least it was short-lived. This book gets all the stars! Run, don't walk, and get your copy when it comes out! It's even better than Part of Your World!
Thank you, NetGalley and Forever Pub, for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!

Abby has rocked my world, again. Never disappoints and I will forever recommend her to anyone who will listen.

She did it again. Abby Jimenez remains an auto-buy author for this emotional romcom lover!
Most people likely pick up a new release by their fave author and think, 'I'm so excited because I just KNOW this will be a great read."
Maybe I'm jaded but I personally succumb to that assumption but also with a side of, "Gosh their writing is supurb but I hope they don't eff THIS one up because I really enjoy their work!"
What is THAT?!
Sigh ... anyway, it's safe to say that Abby Jimenez is the queen of the cute-rom-on-the-surface-but-much-deeper-issues-are-tackled-so-bring-tissues genre. Maybe my own expectations (see the jaded thought above) and personality traits align themselves so well with her main characters that I get sucked in every time!
Lately, I'm finding Mazey Eddings to be a strong contender. SO read this book if you enjoy Jimenez' and/or Eddings' other work!
Side note (without giving this away): the scene in front of the fireplace where Briana tells "THE" story ... omg DEAD. I laughed outloud! At 2 in the morning, mind you, because I couldn't put the book down!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts are my own!

Brianna Ortiz, an ER doctor, had recently gone through a difficult divorce, and was not ready to deal with any more men - least of all the new doctor at work, Dr. Jacob Maddox, who had earned the nickname "Dr. Death" due to losing seven patients on his first day. Despite his abrupt rudeness when she tried to console him, Brianna was still moved when she received a sweet letter from him. Things got even more complicated when she discovered that Jacob was a match for her brother's kidney transplant. Out of gratitude, Brianna agreed to go with Jacob to his brother's wedding, where his family mistakenly assumed they were a couple. Rather than correct them, the two decided to go along with the charade. This was a fun read!

Super cute and made me laugh even though this book is the living definition of the miscommunication trope.

I am convinced Abby went into my head and wrote this book just for me! Wave hello to all the introverts hiding in the corner. Uncloseted introvert over here and this book (while a more extreme version than myself) helped me see and understand myself.. I can't count the amount of times I was like. "uh, how did you know that" or " me too" moments I had reading this story. Thank you to Abby for always addressing issues with such heart!
This books male protagonist is a kind, gentle and incredible human who also happens to be Briana's competition for ED chief of staff and a match for a kidney donation for Briana's brother. A bunch of misunderstandings, sweet notes and fake dating lead to the formation of a beautiful friendship where two people in unique circumstances find support, understanding and eventually love. Such a beautiful read.

Abby has done it again! This author can write romance, you guys.
This is the second book by Abby I've read this year and I was thrilled to get an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Thanks to Netgalley and Forever Publishing for the copy.
Yours, Truly follows our favorite hilarious doctor Briana from Part of Your World, and fellow ER doc Jacob Maddox. I thought nobody could top how well-written Daniel was, but here comes Jacob to steal my heart!! He is WONDERFUL. Briana is such a strong character, she is nurturing and knows what she wants in life and does everything in her power to make it happen. Jacob is quiet and caring, an adorable little anxious cinnamon roll who I want to protect with my life. This romance has some of our favorite tropes including fake dating and "one bed". It has strong familial bonds for both characters, which is something I love that Abby includes in her stories. The relationship between Bri and her brother is so beautiful, and I adore Jacob's huge family of J's!
There is a little bit of slight miscommunication between the characters and that can be frustrating to read, but I promise the payoff is worth it. Their love story is so sweet to watch unfold and I know I'll be coming back to this one again and again.
Please check all TW/CW for this book before picking up- they can all be found on Abby's website. This book does deal with some serious/heavy medical issues and some harmful/hurtful past relationship situations.

Briana and Jacob are both doctors that meet at the hospital in the ER. It' s not love as first sight, Briana is dealing with a divorce and her brother Benny is ill and needs a kidney transplant. Jacob is new at the hospital and suffers from anxiety. When Jacob writes to Briana to apologize for a misunderstanding between them, they soon start swapping notes back and forth. They decide that they like each other as friends and then Jacob gives Briana's brother the best gift, a kidney. These two start to pretend to be dating to make Jacob's family happy but, will they decide they should be together for real?
I don't know where I have been and why this is my first book by Abby Jimenez. I am now her biggest fan! I can't even put into words how much I just loved this story. I am not much of a romance reader, but this book just got me. I was totally crying by the end of it. If you enjoy a really good heartfelt romance, I say get this book right now!! You are going to love it!! If I could give this book more than five stars, I would.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Forever Grand Central Publishing for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This book review will be shared on my Instagram (@coffee.break.book.reviews) in the near future.

Abby, Abby, Abby…. My dearest Abby, who can do NO WRONG! I have read and LOVED every single book. She’s my favorite for a good reason!
The fake dating, the enemies to friends to lovers, the ONE bed…. Sheesh. I was hooked. I was drawn right in from the very beginning. I just loved Jacob and his anxiety representation. It was on point and 1000% relatable. Bri was hilarious and so protective of those she cared about. Now, I did find myself wanting to yell at them sometimes…. I wanted to scream, “CANT YOU SEE HE LOVES YOU!!!” and vice versa! Lol! But that’s part of the angst.
Also, per usual…. I love, love, loveeeee how Abby always includes animals in her books! Lieutenant Dan & Cooter! *chefs kiss* +++ I loved getting a touch of Alexis & Daniel, too!
When I say I was THRILLED when I got approved for this book to review, I was THROUGH THE ROOF! I was up making my son’s lunch before school, and it was 6:59am. At 7am on the DOT, I was on Netgalley trying to be one of the elite that get auto approved for being one of the first 500 to request! When it said approved…. If I could do a back flip, a back flip one of been done. But instead, I squealed at 7am in the kitchen. With all that being said… thank you to Abby & her FB reader group, Netgalley, & Forever for BLESSING me with this early copy of Yours Truly to review.
Go preorder Yours Truly NOW! Trust me, you will want this on April 11, 2023 when it comes out! If you’re lucky, you can preorder through Magers & Quinn and get an AUTOGRAPHED copy from Abby that will also have PAWPRINTS from Tess and Stuntman Mike! Of course, I’ve preordered… I need that copy for my bookshelf!
*Review will be posted to retail sites upon release.

Abby Jimenez hit it out of the park with this book. I have loved all of books but this one hit differently. The relationship between Briana and Jacob is amazing. I really enjoyed how in depth Abby writes about anxiety and the emotional trauma. She is spot on about everything. I could feel the anxiety and understand how dealing with past emotional trauma is very difficult. It changes a person. This book is beyond amazing. It will be on my reread list for sure.

I’m convinced that Abby Jimenez can’t write a bad book! After reading all of her books this past year I was SO excited to read her newest one early!
If you read Part Of Your World then you already know Bri. She’s an ER doctor that is going through a rough time in her life. She’s officially given up on love and wants to focus on her career. That’s until she meets Dr Jacob Maddox.
I instantly fell in love with Jacob! He has anxiety and I loved that Abby Jimenez made him so relatable. He’s not your typical douche bag book boyfriend. Jacob is caring, funny, and just all over an amazing guy!
I’m usually not the biggest fan of fake dating tropes, but this one was written well that I didn’t mind it! I say this every time, but this might be my new favorite AJ book….😬

Abby does it again. I love a good cozy rom com... The one where you know it's gonna be okay in the end. But Abby elevates this genre. As always, the characters are nuanced and real -- they struggle and are flawed. It's refreshing to see characters struggle with mental health issues, health emergencies, trauma -- it makes the payoff at the end all the more sweeter. Tears were shed and I gasped a few times (out of surprise and frustration) but in the end, this book was satisfying, laugh out loud funny, and filled with likable characters.

“Love shows up. That’s how you know when it’s real.”
Spoiler alert… Abby did it again, though I never doubted her. With every book she puts out into the world, I fall more in love (mildly obsessed 😆) with her, her writing, her strong, well developed characters, and her stories that will stick with me for the long haul.
So many things to TRULY love here;
♥️ Slow-burn, workplace romance
♥️ Closet chats
♥️ The letters
♥️ Fake dating
♥️ Mental Health rep
♥️ Family dynamics
♥️ LOL humor/banter
♥️ ALL the feels
I loved everything about Yours Truly from beginning to end. Especially the end! All of Abby’s books are mosaics of her and her life experiences pieced together with touches of fiction (obviously her eloquent words not mine). Make sure you read the author’s note. Abby gives us insight as to just how personal Yours Truly really is. So much love for you Abby! 🫶🏻
Pub Date 4/11/23 I would 💯 recommend reading this and every other book written by Jimenez.. I cannot wait for the audiobook so that I can devour a reread with the fabulous Zachary Webber and Kyla Garcia.
Thank you Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Briana (who we first met in Part of Your World) is an ER doctor who is about to finalize her divorce from the husband who cheated on her with their friend. Her best friend recently got married and moved 2 hours away, and her younger brother is in desperate need for a kidney with no donor in sight.
Jacob is also an ER doctor. He quit his job in order to get away from his ex and her new boyfriend - who just happens to be his younger brother - and took a job in the ER where Briana works. He wrestles with his anxiety, and in this new workplace, it is in full effect. He just wants to start over someplace where he doesn't get reminded of his messed up family drama on the daily.
Briana and Jacob start off on the wrong foot. In an attempt to work through his anxiety and apologize for how their first meeting went down, he writes her a letter. They begin a back and forth, becoming friends.
Jacob needs a date to his brother's wedding, and Briana is done with serious relationships. They end up plotting to fake being boyfriend and girlfriend so that he doesn't need to attend the wedding alone, but will they be able to stay just friends?
I absolutely loved this book. The way the author writes about anxiety makes you really understand it and how it can affect a person's life. The sweetness with which Briana handles Jacob's anxiety is beautiful to read, and shows how simple it can be to help someone with anxiety navigate the big and little things from day to day.
I also love how Jiminez's books all tie together in some way, with Alexis (from the previous book) showing up for her best friend. We even get to see Kevin Bacon again! There are many little easter eggs like this throughout her books, and it makes it that much more enjoyable to read.
Definitely worth reading, you can read it alone without having read the other books, but I'd recommend going back to the beginning (The Friend Zone) and going from there. It'll be worth your time!
*I received a digital ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review

I LOVED this book. Abby has a knack for writing the most lovable characters and Jacob and Briana are no exception. I flew through this so fast and it left me wanting more. It’s one of those books I wholeheartedly wish I could read for the first time again.
If Abby writes it, I will read it.

Abby has really done it again! She always creates such vivid and lovable characters. Her storylines are so thoroughly researched that there is such a high level of authenticity. I have read all of Abby's books MANY times and this one is no different. Every time I read them, I pick up on more details and love them more than before. And every time I read them, I find new ties to the other books. It's so much fun! I'd give this a hundred stars if I could!

I have said it before and I'll say it again... I would read Abby Jimenez's grocery list at this point. She did it again... but are we even surprised? I am not. However, what I was surprised about is how much I fell in love with these two characters. I truly have never related to two characters more in my entire life. Between Bri's commitment issues and Jacob's social anxiety, it was like seeing into my brain. And I honestly loved it. It was probably the most real, raw rom com I have read to date. I loved every single second of this and I can't wait to see what Abby gives us next!

“Love shows up. That's how you know when it’s real.”
And she just keeps getting better and better. Once again Abby Jimenez wins my heart. If she is this good as a writer I wonder how amazing her Nadia cakes are. I love Dr. Briana Ortiz from Part of Your World and I just love her more in this book. Her fierceness, anger, and heart both as a doctor, sister, and friend is just pure. She went through a lot and was not lucky with men. How dare Dr. Jacob Maddox showed in her life? But I am sure glad he did. The letter exchange is old school, but I love how personal it was. You know the person took their time writing it for you and was thinking about you. Jacob was just adorable and kind-hearted. What he offered for Briana’s brother showed what kind of hero he is. The story was fun, charming, and adorable. Yes, it tackled topics like abandonment issues, betrayals, divorce, miscarriage, anxiety, and self-doubt, but the author was able to navigate each topic without being traumatizing. The emotions in the book felt raw, real, and relatable, especially with people who suffer from anxiety. I love all of the author’s books, but this one is a Chef’s kiss, from the plot, the flow of the story, the Mr. Darcy reference, the hospital setting, the plot twist, conflicts to the love story. Reading Briana and Jacob’s love story reminded me of the scene in FRIENDS where Phoebe said “He is her lobster.” This book will be a binge-read for all Abby Jimenez fans. Make sure you read the Author’s note. I appreciate her for sharing her story and journey.
Thank you Netgalley and Forever publishing for the ARC of this book.
