The chokehold Abby Jimenez books has on me. I am such a fan girl of her work. She has a way of making you laugh and cry in a single moment. She also ties in heavy topics that are atypical to books like infertility, anxiety, and chronic illnesses, but does it so beautifully that it does shed some light on them. So I knew any plans I had the day I got the ARC was out the window. What kids?!
I was excited to hear that we were going to get a Bri book. We met her in Part of Your World as Alexis’ fiery coworker and friend. She is a new divorcee trying to elevate in her career. We meet Jacob as a new doctor in the ER who is also recovery from a breakup and possible competition for the job. I really loved these characters and their story. I knew I was going to love them when Abby said the banter is some of her best. She was NOT wrong. If you love fake romance storylines, you’ll love Yours Truly. I loved all the secondary characters giving more space for the universe to expand. Just like other Abby books this book gives us fun animals like a dog sidekick and cursing parrot oh and the taxidermy!
Their not so meet cute was first impression gone wrong. Bri is a sassy a she was in POYR. Jacob has debilitating anxiety and I really felt Jacob’s anxiety through the pages. Both suffering from bad relationships and broken trusts. I really loved how their relationship grew through letters, the phone call and the fake relationship. Without giving too much away, this book gave me all the feels and I loved it so much.
I can’t wait for Benny’s book! Thank you Abby, Forever Publishing and NetGalley for letting me read this book in advance.

Abby has done it again. The way she is able to cover tough topics is extraordinary. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you will struggle to put this book down after you start it.

✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨
Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez
Pub date: April 11th 🥰
Loved this one! Ever since reading Part of Your World, I was really excited for Briana’s story — I loved her as Alexis’s friend.
Read if you like:
-fake dating trope
-wonderful representation of anxiety
-workplace romance — especially in a healthcare setting
-a little bit of enemies to friends to lovers
-a sweetheart MC
My thoughts:
LOVED the notes that Briana and Jacob wrote back and forth — such a cute touch!
As far as I’m concerned Jacob stole the show in “Yours Truly.” I could certainly relate to him in many ways! He was my second favorite character behind Jafaar, the parrot with the potty mouth, obviously 😉Jimenez has a way of writing absolutely hysterical animal characters and I AM HERE FOR IT — shout out to Lieutenant Dan as well!!
I loved Jacob’s family too — they had me LOLing several times! They were so fun and hilarious and I felt like I was right there having dinner with them.
The reason this isn’t a 5 star read for me is because I can only deal with the miscommunication trope for so long before I gauge my eyes out — especially with mature, 30-something y.o. characters. It lasted too long in my opinion and I just wanted to scream at them over and over to talk to each other!!!
Overall “Yours Truly” was a really sweet read that I definitely recommend! Thank you to @netgalley & @readforeverpub for my eARC in exchange for an honest review!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If Abby Jimenez writes it, I read it and I end up loving it every.single.time!!
Yours Truly is the latest from the brilliant, Abby Jimenez and if you loved Part of Your World - you are going to lose it over Yours Truly!! After meeting Bri in Part of Your World, I knew that I'd love a companion centred around her and Abby delivered! Yours Truly is the most PERFECT helping of Cinnamon Roll Hero mixed with a Strong, caring Independent Heroine.
Bri has been through it and you can instantly feel for her, she's trying so hard to keep it together for everyone else while seriously struggling on her own, while one thing after another hits her at once. Bri is resilient, generous and loving while being guarded due to her deep wounds from childhood.
I literally don't think y'all are ready for the perfection that is Jacob Maddox, this man is a LOVER. I loved the way that Jacob's battle with anxiety and social anxiety was displayed in the story, it's detailed in a way that is understanding, and I think it will give insight to many. All I can really say is that I love to see the representation, as someone that also battles Social Anxiety, I really respect the tender way it was written into the story! Bri and Jacob's story is one full of genuine connection, and is the perfect reminder of pure love, while detailing the intricacies of relationships and what it is to show up for the ones we love. That said, I can't leave out how much fun it was to read this book. It's kind of a Romance lovers dream, with multiple tropes that are melded together in the most seamless way.
Abby Jimenez has absolutely hit it out of the park with Yours Truly, it's sure to be seen on the Top Tier of Romance novels coming in 2023.

I absolutely adored this book.
This is my 5th Abby Jimenez book and possibly one of my favorites. I haven’t decided if I love this book more than Part of Your World but they are tied closely together.
The characters from Part of Your World make appearances in this book and I loved that.
But honestly, my favorite part of this book was that the male love interest had severe social anxiety and Briana isn’t trying to fix him. It reminded me so much of my best friend and I respected this portrayal of anxiety. I mildly relate to Jacob in this way, but Briana’s respect and consideration for this was *chefs kiss*.
Their relationship was so incredibly sweet and heartfelt. BUT THE MISCOMMUNICATION. Really can they just stop assuming what the other did/said/thought and this book would’ve moved alone much faster. It was typical romcom adorableness.
It does have spice but mild.
I really appreciate that Jimenez always takes a difficult topic, mental health issue, diagnosis, tragedy, real life situations that people deal with every day and incorporates it into these romcoms basically telling people ITS OK. YOU WILL BE OK. They’re crafted with precision and accuracy and the utmost respect for anyone dealing with these possibly triggering topics. And I respect her for caring and shedding light on them in this way. Jacobs anxiety is so real and not always easily understood by people who don’t feel these things everyday.
I loved it. I devoured it. I hope there is more.

If I could give you one word of caution on this book, it's stick with it. Briana is hard to like at first but we quickly see a solution to this that I thought was beautifully done. It's not long before you or at least I did, fall in love with her and Jacob both individually and as a whole. I will also say Jacob's family was a lot at first but in a fun and kind of annoying way. You know, like a real family.
We've got a fake dating, only one bed situation going on in this book and as these are favorite tropes, I was super pleased. The book does get a bit heavier as the story goes on but it makes sense in the context of Briana's journey and I personally thought Jacob handled it the best he could. Love that he got advice from his mom.
On the subject of Jacob and his anxiety, I have to commend the author here. Usually anxiety rep either makes me mad because it's done poorly or it makes my anxiety worse. Neither was the scenario here. I absolutely adored how he handled himself and his triggers with humor and self-deprecation and honesty and I love how Briana handles it as well. It was some of the better anxiety rep I've seen and I am glad I didn't need a Xanax just to get through it.
Many thanks to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for an early copy! Definitely pre-order this one!

“Yours Truly” is the first book I’ve read by Abby Jimenez and I can say, without a doubt, it will not be the last. This book is unbelievably adorable and I absolutely could not put it down.
Briana and Jacob are both wonderful main characters who connect and understand each other in the best way. I haven’t read very many romance books with an introverted male MC, but this was so sweet and so well done that I just want more!
There’s so much to love about this book. From the letters/notes that they write to each other, to the fake dating, and the ONE BED SCENE! Maybe my favourite thing, though, is just their interactions with each other and how cute they are together. Their inside jokes and games of
Would You Rather are just so delightful to read, I was smiling the entire time.
While Briana and Jacob both have some past relationship trauma to work through in this book, they both show a lot of growth and Jimenez does a wonderful job of dealing with their mental health issues throughout.
I cannot recommend this book enough, and I will now be going back to read “Part of Your World”!
*Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When I found out that Briana was getting her own book I was freaking out! We first met her in Part of Your World with some strong hints we would see her again.
Dr. Briana Ortiz is going through a traumatic divorce, her brother needs a kidney and a new doctor shows up to take her job (or so she thinks!). Dr. Jacob Maddox meets Briana in less than stellar circumstances and decides to write her a letter to say he's sorry.
What starts as a hate relationship quickly turns into a fake dating for family relationship with lots of extra fun stuff added in. I usually roll my eyes at fake dating but Abby found a way to make it exciting with perfect characters. Jacob is quite possibly the most perfect man in a book that I've read. He suffers from anxiety but manages to be the best uncle there is.
Jacob has actually dethroned my book boyfriend and is now my number one. I cannot wait for this book to publish so I can buy it for all my friends.

So honored to have been blessed with another Abby Jimenez ARC. I don’t why I still get surprised at how amazing her writing and characters are each time. This one definitely didn’t disappoint. Without spoiling, I just want to say that Jacob was such an amazing and well-written character. Abby continues to get her readers to relate and connect with these characters and I’m always here for it. I loved the banter presented between some really emotional moments. I laughed and teared up through this book, Abby is truly exceptional.

Thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley for an opportunity with this title. A very heartwarming and touching story, the first I've read by Jimenez but definitely not my last. If you liked the blurb, you'll like the book.

🌻 I’m not even kidding when I say this was one of my favorite books read this year. This book is SO GOOD! This is my first book received from @Netgalley and the first book I read by Abby Jimenez. So I dove into this one without knowing what to expect. I read this in 2 days. I could NOT put this book down.
🌻 Briana and Jacob are both beautiful characters and my favorite part about them is their flaws. Abby Jimenez did an astounding job at creating two characters that are super human and super real. The character development was perfection. We got to do a deep dive into both Briana’s and Jacob’s thoughts and feelings since this book is written in two points of views.
🌻 Briana is a Hispanic woman with a strong personality, a mind of her own and a troubled past. Yet, she is funny as heck, kind and honest. I loved seeing her leadership as a Doctor but also her spunk. Her mother, Rosa is the perfect Hispanic mother, I kid you not I was like “that is literally JUST like my mother”. Thanks to this beautiful character (Briana) I caught myself laughing out loud multiple times.
🌻 Jacob is an incredibly smart, kind, loving, and humble introvert. He has crippling social anxiety and we get to see how he copes with that anxiety throughout the book. This man is perfection. That’s it. He is just perfect. He loves animals, plants and children. He is a great brother, son and doctor. Throughout the entire book I just wanted to hug him.
🌻 But Briana and Jacob together? They may or may not be magic, I will leave that up to you to decide. I highly recommend this book, I’m running to buy every other book written by Abby Jimenez because she just become one of my favorite authors.

Abby Jiminez has done it again ! I've now read all of her books and I've loved each and every one of them - somehow I manage to love each a little more than the last ! I especially love that while her books are rom-coms, they always deal with real issues as well in a meaningful way. This one in particular resonated with me as an introvert with mild anxiety, I loved the mental health representation in Jacob's character. I loved the build-up of chemistry between the MCs and the bumps along their beautiful journey to HEA. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

4.5 stars. This is deep cinnamon roll stuff, people. You will want to hug and hold Jacob and Briana with every ounce of your being, because they are both such good people with external circumstances and internal sh*t trying to keep them apart, but you KNOW they are better together than apart. Like, these are the feels you will have going through this book, starting with their awkward first encounter, to the letters (THE LETTERS!) that they send to each other, and then the absolute, abject care they have for one another. These are two extremely capable, wonderful doctors who just need the right person to love them. There are a lot of laughs in that typical Abby Jimenez way. These people are shameless and weird. There's a three-legged dog called Lieutenant Dan. There are moments in Wakan with Alexis and Daniel that will make you squee. The characters make fun of the Only One Bed trope while totally playing into it. Like, this book is everything you love about Abby's books - it will make you hysterically laugh, it will break your heart and remake you, it will make you cry for the damage that Briana's divorce has done to her, and it will make you feel all the sympathy, empathy, and understanding for Jacob and his brilliant, anxiety-ridden mind. This book is ALL feels. Read it if you're ready for all the longing and cuteness in the world.

Abby Jimenez has done it again! Sweet and spicy with just the right tough of depth and emotion. Somehow she manages to write every character perfectly, even though all of her main characters are so very different. Abby is absolutely a must-buy author and I will be rereading this one year after year.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this gem!

Thanks to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for a gifted ARC in exchange for my honest review.
There hasn’t been an Abby I haven’t loved and this one is no different—add this one to your pre-order list / TBR! Finishing this one in one sitting, and staying up past my bedtime to finish it, I was hooked on this friends-to-lovers meets fake-dating romance. If you’re not a fan of the miscommunication trope, the ladder half of this book has some of that. And usually I’m not but Abby’s storytelling is so great, it didn’t bug me😅
I loved the way Briana and Jacob’s relationship slowly evolved and their letters to each other truly warmed my heart🥹♥️
⚠️One of the MCs in this book deals with anxiety and I will say, it made me EXTREMELY anxious to read, and I wanted to share for anyone choosing to pick this one up! Perhaps this is a testament to Abby’s writing or a combo of life factors I was experiencing at the time, but wanted to share!🤍
📝 Also, don’t forget to read the author’s note! This is one that you definitely can’t miss.

Obsessed! Absolutely obsessed.
Abby never seizes to amaze me with her books, they are relatable and dialogue is so realistic. Briana and Jacob are one of my new most favorite book couples, their quirky, awkward and their undeniable connection makes Yours Truly one of the best books of the year. READ THIS BOOK, BUY THIS BOOK. You wont regret it.

Abby Jimenez has done it again- She has written a beautiful, emotional, touching, personal, comedic romance novel of the ages. And this novel is filled with more love and comedy than her other books combined, despite a devastating situation. Maybe it's because this book was so personal to the author that is turned out so perfectly. But regardless its quite amazing.
Bri is hospital physician whose brother is ill with kidney disease. She just finalized her divorce to a horrible man and the new doctor at work is kind of a jerk. They have even given him a nickname- Dr Death due to him losing 7 patients on his first day.
Dr Death aka Dr Jacob Maddox has a really rough first day at work and ends up finishing his day by offending Bri.. He works to fix it by sending her handwritten notes which ahe both appreciates and responds to.
Jacob ends up secretly doing something for Bri (well truly for her brother, because its the right thing to do) and Bri offers to do anything in return and randomly Jacob needs a date so she agrees and as they say the fake date adventure begins and hilarity and shenanigans ensue. But does actual love and romance too?
Read Yours Truly for the best adventure, a heartbreaking reality, a heartfelt and genuine good deed and a whole bunch of fun. And the answers to my questions too!

Dearest Readers,
Absolutely incredible romance, from the very first page to the very last.. Although it does not come out until 2023, I think this is my favorite romance of 2022 and will remain that way.
Dr.'s Briana Ortiz and Jacob Maddox to not get off to a great start after literally colliding in their ER on a busy shift. Slowly they start to get to know each other and realize first impressions are not always as they seem. Underneath the tough exteriors, Briana is struggling with her young brother who is suffering from kidney failure, and Jacob struggles with severe social anxiety. As they get to know each other more, they realize that they may be exactly what the other needs, each in their own unique and incredible way.
This book resonated with me. As a nurse practitioner who has dedicated my entire career to critical and transplant patients, this story was just perfect. Truly reflected the challenges in a life with a chronic illness, and I could entirely relate to the anxiety that Jacob feels on a daily basis. As the story went on I found myself up late at night and early into the morning, eagerly wanting more of Jacob and Briana's story. My heart swelled at times, broke at others. I laughed, I cried, and I was so damn proud of them both, even when they were being difficult. This book truly demonstrated the perfect imperfection that is love.
A heartfelt thank you to Forever Pub/Grand Central Pub and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Yours Truly,
@manis.and.manuscrips (full review to be posted on my IG)

Phew. There is a lot to digest about this book. Let’s start with what I liked -
It is no doubt that Jimenez knows how to write a story. I am always in awe of how she seamlessly works real life into her stories. Jacob’s anxiety felt so relatable and real, and I loved how Briana helped him work through his anxiety. I also love how Jimenez made the majority of the book focus on organ donation, something I think is not talked enough about. Incredibly funny and full of real problems, Briana and Jacob were probably the couple in Jimenez’s universe that felt the realest.
Okay. Now for my beef. First, the ring doorbell thing. I think she mentioned it five times. Like… I desperately hope Jimenez got a lil free camera from it because it felt like bad product placement. Same with tik tok - the way she explained tik tok early on in the book felt inorganic. Finally, the slow burn of it all made me want to throw my kindle across the room. Miscommunication will forever be my least favorite trope. Just talk to each other, damn.
Anyways. Despite that, I enjoyed this book. I think it is my least favorite Jimenez but is still a four star read for me, which I thinks speaks a lot to Jimenez’s talent and how she tackles tough topics. I am excited to continue to read Abby’s work!!
Thanks to Netgalley & Forever Publishing for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I’m typical Abby Jimenez fashion, she writes an unforgettable male lead and a strong willed powerful woman. I adored getting to know Jacob and Brianna. While I feel like the fake dating and the miscommunication trope are nothing unique, The character development was strong. Jacob is one of the sweetest men I have ever read about and Brianna was a breathe of fresh air. Overall I really enjoyed the story and the characters.
Thank you so much for the advanced readers copy of this one.
4 stars!
