Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez was a well written rom com that proves that character driven romance is my favorite for a reason. Abby does such a fantastic job with it!

Abby Jimenez’s books are always so refreshing. She has a gift for writing characters we can relate to, even, or especially, in their flaws. Including insecurities and life struggles, most of us have had to overcome a time or two.
As with all her books, Yours Truly took me on an emotional rollercoaster. It had me literally laughing out loud, swooning and crying. The main and supporting characters come to life, and their emotions are heartfelt.
Bri is strong, snarky, fiercely loyal to those she holds dear. Yet never harsh or cruel. Basically, she's the best friend we’d all love to have! And Jacob stole my heart! I was so taken with his tenderness, I just wanted to protect him! Together, Bri and Jacob are complete, with their own unique backgrounds that shaped their lives. The depth of the characters makes them true to life. Not only do they love, but they do no harm!!! That in itself makes my heart full.
As someone who has anxiety, I was amazed how the author captures the everyday thoughts and feelings that are so real. Anxiety can be very debilitating. Having people around that understand and support you is important! This is very much reflected in the story.
To reiterate, this book made me burst out laughing more than a few times! Bri and Jacobs' love is so sweet and feels so genuine I didn’t want their story to end. On a side note, I really want to be invited to Jacobs' family’s house for dinner! A Christmas or Thanksgiving would be fabulous!

I don’t know that adequate words exist to express how much I adored Yours Truly. Abby absolutely outdid herself on so many levels.
I instantly connected with the MMC, Jacob. As someone who also grapples with generalized anxiety, Abby’s portrayal of of what it is like to live with anxiety on a daily basis was beautiful. Despite covering some additional heavy topics throughout the story, she did so in such an honest and thoughtful manner. Content warnings were carefully expressed before the start of the story, so make sure to check those out before you dive in.
One of the things that personally drives me crazy in a romance is miscommunication… it’s something I tend to avoid when choosing my next read. That being said, it was a key component in the story that, to my surprise, I couldn’t get enough of! Additional tropes included slow-burn, fake dating, forced proximity, pregnancy, and even a touch of one bed. Abby delivered a little bit of everything in this heartwarming tale of two people overcoming a variety of traumas and obstacles on the path to true love.
The happily ever after in this story does not come without setbacks, and that’s exactly why I loved it so much. It was messy, funny, heartbreaking, and realistic all at once. A love that many will find themselves relating to.
Jacob and Brianna might just be two of my favorite fictional characters I have ever read about- one of my favorite fictional couples. I also adored their families and the integral role they played in their lives in addition to the pets woven throughout the story. There was just so much love portrayed in this book!
Simply put, I adored this read. I laughed, I cried, and my heart was warmed to the core. I will absolutely be devouring more Abby Jimenez in the future!
Thank you to Abby Jimenez and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Abby Jimenez's YOURS TRULY is another fantastic addition to the author's all-star lineup of romantic dramas. As always, Jimenez features three-dimensional characters and women who aren't afraid to speak their minds. YOURS TRULY features some of the greatest tropes around: enemies to lovers, letter writing, fake dating, and even the holy grail of romance novels - only one bed. It was a one-sitting read for me. I also want to note the neurodivergent representation present in this book; this was representation I didn't even realize would be so important and impactful for me. Thanks for another stellar read, Abby! I swooned.

This book was a 10/10! After Part of Your World, I binge-read all of Abby's book and was so excited to be approved for this one. This book is my favorite of all of her previously published works. The story is incredible and I love the cameos by her other characters!

This book was the cutest. I love how Abby Jimenez writes the best characters that feel unique and relatable. Brianna and Jacob were no different- I loved their banter and felt the author wrote Jacob’s anxiety in a really realistic way. Abby does a wonderful job writing chemistry and this book was no different.
I really enjoyed all the side characters in this book as well- Jacob’s family was really fun to get to know throughout this book.
I did feel a little frustrated at Briana at times. She was struggling with trust issues and while it is understandable, it annoyed me as a reader.
Overall- this book was a sweet gem and I couldn’t put it down. Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reader copy of this book!

I loved this book! The fake dating trope is my favorite and this book covered that and more. I was so excited to be able to read Brianna’s story. This is my favorite Abby Jimenez book by far!

Going into Yours Truly I had high expectations. I can honestly say I was not disappointed. Abby has a way of making you feel the characters pain, hopelessness, despair and also the joy, love and elation.
Yours Truly follows Briana on her journey to figuring out life when carefully laid plans bite her in the backside.
We also meet Jacob who has been lead to believe that he isn't fit for relationships or maybe even social life.
This book hits really close to home for me as I lost my dad while he was waiting on a transplant.
If you have never read one of Abby's books before be prepared to a rollercoaster of emotions in the best way possible.
That k you Abby for bringing attention to such an important issue. I am sorry to read that you have also been affected in a deep way with organ donation.

4.5/5⭐️ This is my second book by Abby Jimenez and it did not disappoint!
The fake dating trope has definitely been done before, but I absolutely fell in love with the characters and how Jimenez captured what it’s like to fall in love.
Jacob and Briana are a match made in heaven and they had my laughing out loud with how funny they were together. Plus, Jacob is literally the kindest and best kind of guy. I’m convinced everyone needs a little bit of Jacob in their lives.

Yours Truly is a wonderful read. Abby Jimenez is an excellent storyteller who crafts realistic characters who manage life and love while balancing issues such as social anxiety. I have enjoyed all of Jimenez’s books, but this one is my favorite. I highly recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own

ABBY JIMENEZ YOU ARE A GUMMY BEAR THAT I'D NEVER EAT. I love you. There. I said it. Abby Jiminez is absolutely an autobuy author for me, so when I got approved for this ARC I literally screamed with joy. Every time I read one of Abby's books I say, "This is my new favorite!", And I said the same thing when I finished Yours Truly. Ok seriously.. how are ALL of her books so charming, and adorable, and raw, and real and PERFECT?! She definitely knows how to write a romance that will leave you falling in love with imaginary characters. I'll admit I teared up more than a few times while reading this adorable book.
And can we please talk about the AMAZING anxiety rep this book had?! I mean I have NEVER related to a book or character more than I related to the sweet, sexy marshmallow that was Dr. Jacob Maddox. *Insert spiderman pointing at himself gif*
"I think you probably want what every introvert wants—to be invited, even though you won’t come."
Jacob suffers from anxiety, especially in social settings, and seeing the ways this affects his daily life will be really helpful for people who don't suffer from anxiety to understand. Jiminez always writes about real and tough subjects, and this was no different.
“I’m never ready for a party. I just come to terms with the fact that I have to go inside.”
This book had ALL the best tropes. Read if you enjoy:
• fake dating
• anxiety rep
• workplace romance
• big families
• enemies to friends to lovers
• miscommunication
• oops one bed
• a 3 legged dog
Now normally the miscommunication trope has me dyingggg, but this one was done well! I wanted to scream JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER so many times though haha.
This book is out April 11th, 2023 and when I say RUN don't walk to the bookstore, I MEAN IT 🤩

My favorite thing about Abby's characters is that they are HUMAN. They have quirks, emotional flaws, and deal with heavy real-life stuff. I love that Abby writes with both heart and humor. Her books are not your typical beach read. She is a master of romantic comedies, awkward situations and laugh out loud moments. I really loved Jacob in this. Her navigation of anxiety was spot on and done with such grace. Brianna bugged me a bit… there was a little too much immaturity when it came to her relationship with Jacob, but it only surfaced after the middle point of the novel.
I loved the relationship with Brianna and her brother. I usually don’t buy the fake dating trope, but this one worked for me. I flew through it. Highly recommend! Happily Ever After Playlist is still my favorite though ;)
Thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC!

Abby Jimenez creates witty and hilarious dialogue like no other in this new contemporary romance. Two doctors, both with life struggles, come together slowly in this mashup of enemies to lovers AND fake dating tropes. Briana, an emergency room doctor is struggling through divorce while her brother is facing a medical crisis and Jacob, a doctor as well, starts a new job in the same ER as Briana coming with his own mental struggles and past. As someone with anxiety and my own mental health issues, I was prepared for this book thanks to the disclaimer in the beginning of the book, thank you Abby! This book felt enjoyable, relatable, and fun. My favorite thing about Abby is that her characters are so human. She veers away from the traditional villain tropes to create realistic stories with a hint of magical realism and inspiring romance. From the bottom of my romance addicted heart, Abby Jimenez is simply the best.

Abby Jimenez has become an auto-buy author for me, so I was absolutely thrilled to get an ARC of her new book, Yours Truly. We actually met Briana in her last book (Part of Your World), and I was so excited to get her story. An ER physician recovering from a very hurtful divorce, with a brother suffering from end-stage renal disease-she is suffering big time. Enter the swoony Dr. Jacob Maddox, a new ER doc at the same hospital. He is recovering from his own trauma of a relationship, and suffers from rough social anxiety. Sparks fly, and the book ends up being a beautiful fake-dating trope turns love story.
What I love about Jimenez’s books is I never feel hoodwinked. There is no insta-love or easy paths. These seem like very real people with real problems to overcome. But-love shows up. And this book is no exception-love certainly showed up. This one made me laugh, cry, and swoon. She’s hit another home run. Yours Truly comes out in April and you’re an idiot if you don’t pre-order it. That’s all!
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book has all the feels, it is emotional, raw, and just plain funny. I adored the witty banter and Jimenez has an impeccable ear for dialogue. The letters are some of the most beautiful writing in the book.
YOURS TRULY is heartfelt, flirty, and fun.

ABBY DOES IT AGAIN!!! I fell in love with all of the characters in this one. Jacob was such a refreshing character, so zen and pure. This is a sweet love story, with dashes of humor sprinkled throughout. It was the perfect mixture for me and very tastefully done. I flew through this in two days. If you loved any of Abby’s previous books, you’re in for a major treat :)

This book had my emotions all over. Fake dating Doctors Jacob and Brianna deal with heartbreaking past relationships and struggle to tell one another they’re falling in love. An amazing story of second chances.

Love shows up and it's here in this book!!
Absolutely adore Abby's books, character story line. This story was amazing, done to earth believable, funny, touching. Total swoon worthy story. Jacob indont even know where to begin with him. I love him, he was the perfect fake boyfriend ever!! Sweet, charming, funny, quirky all great assets to a lead male. Brianna was an exceptional lead female. The emotions she hid from.so many for so long. I cannot express enough how much I loved these two characters.
This storyline has been done alot, however Abby gives us the perfect fake boyfriend/gifted romcom. It was fresh, it was convincing, and it's a must read. However, I feel all Abbys are must 📚 reads.
Jacob's family seemed like a family we all know if not our own. Loved them all. Grampa was a hoot. Luitenant Dan how could you not love him. 🐕
One great thing to take from this books is
Be harmless to people. ❤️📃✏️

I was really excited to get an ARC of this book and was eagerly hoping I would get approved. This book didn't disappoint and I stayed up late reading the book and didn't want to put it down. I struggled with finishing the book because I wasn't ready to finish it either. I really adored this story and it made me feel a gamut of emotions as I read it. To date this is my favourite book by this author.
The story is sweet, I loved the exchange of handwritten letters in the story; the journaling of it is wonderful. As soon as this book is published I would recommend you get a copy as soon as it comes and book off the time to read it.

Content Warnings: anxiety, pregnancy loss, ex-husband cheating, chronic kidney disease
Thank you so much to Forever and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I honestly have not recovered from reading this book and will probably read it at least three more times before publication date. I am usually pretty stingy on giving out five stars but was AMAZING and deserves every star.
I am in love with Jacob. In fact, Jacob should just propose to me and become my book boyfriend. Jacob has really bad anxiety and has a lot of insecurities from his anxiety. This can make some readers uncomfortable as his insecurities can be read as rude, annoying, obnoxious, self centered, etc.. If you are lucky and don't battle with anxiety, anxiety is a lot like thinking someone looks at you funny and that they immediately hate you and everything you stand for. Anxiety is not rational. I thought Abby did such a beautiful job writing about Jacob's anxiety and also writing ways he was working through his anxiety. Jacob is the best book boyfriend ever, and I will metaphorically die on this hill.
If you read Part of Your World, you will remember Bri. This is her story. Bri believes men are not worth the time after her ex-husband destroyed her in his unfaithfulness. Like ugh he did not deserve her. Bri is a fierce ER doctor. She is compassionate and cares deeply about the people she loves.
I am not normally on the miscommunication trope life. However, in this book it did not feel like the typical "why can't you just talk to each other". Instead, Bri misinterprets some of Jacob's actions before she realizes the way his anxiety manifests. (And a few times after knowing about his anxiety). I think this part of the book made me fall in love with it even more. Sometimes, we are too quick to judge someone for acting abruptly without even thinking of the deep root cause of it. More so, Bri becomes super supportive and a rock for Jacob and it just brings tears to your eyes.
I think I could write a bunch more about this book but then my review would completely go into full spoil mode. This book is amazing and I highly recommend it. I thought the mental health representation in the love story was so beautiful and not a lot of books can do that well.
