Thank you to Netgalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This book just made me speechless. The characters were everything I needed to be. Their chemistry was so amazing. Their letters were so cute, I never wanted them to end.
I loved how she helped him with his social anxiety. Their catchphrases were so adorable. I freaking loved both of them so much. This is what I want from every friends to lovers book. I loved how he was ready to do anything for her out of his comfort zone.
I loved their families so much. They all were so freaking supportive. Their both moms were so amazing. Her brother was adorable and I was so happy when he found his soulmate.
I freaking loved him when he gave his journal. His entries were so beautiful and so in love. And I was so glad when she realised her true love. I'm not a fan of miscommunication but this book just made me liked.
Also I loved that part when she told him she poured glitter all over her ex house, she was confessing to him like she did a murder, and it made me so happy that she made him laugh because of this. And I cracked up when they were discussing their daughter's name.
I can't believed he sat in rain for three hours just to talked with her. Their bond was so amazing. I can highlight the whole book. Their first meet was so cute.
“I’d eat you even if you weren’t a gummy bear…”
“Guys, it’s getting fucking gross,” Jewel said, sitting down next to us with Gwen.
This scene was hilarious...

I love this book so much. Abby is on a roll, and right now, for me, she can do no wrong.
I had a couple of personal connections to the story, both through chronic kidney disease and anxiety. Both were written so well and with great sensitivity. It was one of the best descriptions of living with anxiety that I’ve read.
I love how Abby’s stories weave together, and each one just makes you want to go back to the beginning and read them all again.
Can’t wait to share this book with my listeners once it’s released!

Abby crafts the most amazing characters and beautiful stories. She describes life with an anxiety disorder with shocking accuracy. It’s like she saw inside my head and put words to the chaos and loneliness in there. And as always she writes the best dogs with amazing names. I’m not sure this is my favourite Abby book but I love it just the same. Can’t wait for what she writes in the future. Abby is my favourite everything!

I think this is the earliest I've ever read an arc. I couldn't resist and plan on a reread closer to the actual pub date. I will continue to read anything that Abby Jimenez writes. 😍. I absolutely loved it!
Put this one on your TBR list if you enjoy:
✨Rivals to lovers
✨Some epistolary scenes
✨Seeing characters from previous books (it can be read as a stand-alone, but it's nice to see familiar faces💕)
✨Anxiety representation done well
✨Scenes that will make you laugh out loud along with scenes that will make you tear up because the characters are so real and relatable
✨Characters you will want to hang out with (both main and side😊)
✨Learning what it's like to live with chronic kidney disease (side character)
✨So much resilience and growth!
I really loved it and am so grateful that @readforeverpub shared an arc with me. All opinions are my own.

5 stars and I could not put this book down. I was invested in Briana and Jacob from the very beginning and had to know what happened. Abby is a brilliant author and I love how she handles intense topics. I am already excited for the next book Abby writes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this lovely book.

Abby is a master at tearing through your heartstrings and then weaving them back together with her incredible storytelling and lovable characters that you're left with no choice but to love them forever– they're a part of you now.
I adored both MCs. Dr. Jacob Maddox, the shy introvert who Googles places before going just to see what he could, maybe what to order and what the parking situation would be like. Who loves being at home, and doesn't care to be around high-intensity people because they exhaust him. Jacob who has clinical anxiety but shows up for those he loves anyway. Dr. Briana Ortiz, the kindest, most generous, and loving sister and friend. The badass doctor everyone respects and loves.
I loved all the letters and notes. Old school handwritten letters in special stationery. 🫠 I mean, seriously. 🫶
The lunches in the supply closet. The conversations that happened there, the vulnerability and understanding. 🧡
I loved seeing old faces and places again. Hello Wakan ✨️ Like Abby's other books, this one had some Easter eggs hidden in them too and when you *get them* it just adds another level of enjoyment. I love that. 🧡
Lots of tears were shed reading this book. Happy tears, heartbreaking tears, and even laughing tears. This book is so special, and SO. GOOD. It will make you feel seen, and understood, and validated. Or at the very least, it will be entertaining. I want to say it's my new Abby Jimenez favorite, and probably one of my favorites period. I hope you read it.
✨️ Dual POV
✨️ Mental health rep
✨️ Fake dating
✨️ Handwritten letters 🫠
✨️ Easter eggs from Abby's other books
CW: Chronic kidney disease, divorced MC with cheating ex, depression, clinical anxiety, mentions of pregnancy loss and suicide.
While this is a standalone, I highly suggest reading Part of Your World first.

I devoured this book in one day — it was that good. A bad first impression turns into an adorable workplace romance that includes (best of all) FAKE DATING! Yours Truly gave me butterflies and is perfect for fans of the Hating Game and the Unhoneymooners. There were so many scenes that had me swinging my legs and giggling like in the movies. One main character, Jacob, is so endearing. I don’t read many romance books—or books in general—with the main character having a canon diagnosis of anxiety or such a normal representation of it. He felt so familiar in the best way possible, and I’m obsessed with him. Genuinely hilarious, and actually laugh-out-loud funny.
A pregnancy plot line always throws me off, but that’s a personal preference — even with that subplot, the writing was so good that I couldn’t put it down. Was less of a fan of some of the meme references, felt a bit like pandering to a young/gen z audience. I also found that some of Brianna’s interactions read a bit stereotypical. The “hold my hoops” scene felt more like a caricature than anything else.

Enemies to lovers vying for the same position. The letters were really cute and swoony. I like that the characters were a spin off from the book before.

This was such a good read. Abby Jimenez never disappoints. I loved Jacob and Briana and the motley cast of characters surrounding them. It was really fun to join them on their journey to happily ever after. Here's hoping that Benny and Jane get their story

Oh, Abby, you've done it again! I absolutely adored this book! I am so excited that Bri has her own story, and I just loved the characters she interacted with. Jiminez once again managed to make me read as slowly as possible to make the story last longer. I love the hospital environment, as well as the old-school letter writing. The addition of the families and pets made me fall in love with the whole story from start to finish. I also loved seeing cameos from past characters; it makes the story that much sweeter! Thank you for always hitting on relevant topics, interesting family dynamics, and for bringing such soul to your writing. Jiminez's books are true gems! If I could rate this 10 starts, I would!

Abby Jimenez Is my favorite romantic author. She writes from her heart and words from the heart enter the heart. I found myself rooting for Jacob. He is a perfect leading character, flawed, imperfect and real. I appreciate a book that can bring life’s traumas and anxieties to the surface and still manage to make me laugh. I tried to slow down and savour Yours Truly but I found myself unable to stop myself and put the book down. Instead, I finished the book in one sitting. I look forward, just like all my Abby Jimenez’s books, to rereading this incredible book. Hands down Abby creates characters you can’t help but want to know better.

Another 5 star from Abby Jimenez. Her 5th book and each one is a 5 star read.
The main characters are the perfect match of demure and out spoken. You will seriously laugh out loud and cry. I love how Abby balances serious relationship topics with hilarious interactions with family, friends and lovers in her stories.

Excellent book! I am an avid reader of Abby’s books and this one didn’t disappoint! I loved the back and forth between Jacob and Briana and the way they were able to still build their relationship after their first meeting. Highly recommend!!

Abby Jimenez is an all time favorite author for me. Her books never fail to make me laugh, cry, and really just get in my feelings about the beauty and tragedies of life. 🥹
I felt a little conflicted about Yours Truly, because I was absolutely HEAD OVER HEELS for the characters, but it featured one of my least favorite tropes. 😫
There were many things I loved:
The visit with Alexis, Daniel, and Hunter in Wakan 😍😍😍😍
Jacob’s big family, particularly his mom
The anxiety representation (feeling anxious about parking in a place you’ve never been before, hi it me)
The banter 🔥
Jacob’s love for animals 🥺
Briana’s revenge on her ex 🤣
Jacob
Jacob
Briana’s tender care with Jacob
Jacob’s tender care with Briana
The letters
Briana’s sarcasm and wit
Jacob
Now the sad part. It’s a fake dating trope which leads to so much miscommunication, and it was soooo frustrating. I wanted these two cutie baby lovers to just TALK and share how they were feeling as opposed to making assumptions and misinterpreting things. I guesssss maybe then it wouldn’t have been a book because you need conflict but idk, I would have read a whole book of these two just teasing each other and being good to one another 😂🥰

I think in my ranking of AJ books, this one falls in the middle. After my favorites, The Happy Ever After Playlist and Part of Your World, about even with The Friend Zone, and ahead of Life’s Too Short. ❤️

It was a dream come true to receive an early e-copy! Thanks so much to NetGalley and Forever pub!

We can always count on Abby Jimenez to bring the heart and the angst with characters who will break our hearts and then stitch them back together. I'd give Yours Truly 4.5 stars but round up to five because Abby will always be one of my favorite authors.
Brianna Ortiz's life is falling apart. Her divorce is just about final and her brother's chronic kidney disease is getting worse while his prospects for a donor are looking bleaker by the day. Her dominion is the emergency department where she is beloved by nurses and patients alike, and all but guaranteed to be selected as the new chief until Jacob Maddox shows up. After losing 7 patients on his first day, things aren't looking great for Jacob at his new job. He left his previous hospital when his girlfriend broke up with him and then promptly got engaged to his younger brother. Determined to change her first impression of him, Jacob starts writing letters to Brianna. Then he finds out he's a perfect match for her brother's kidney. Then he talks her into fake dating him for his brother's wedding to the aforementioned ex-girlfriend. It's a lot of tropes all thrown together, but it works.
Jacob is such a cinnamon roll hero with his soft talking to animals and his themed socks. The man is ass over chaps in love with Bri from the get go, and the feeling is mutual. But do they know that? No, because these two dum dums never talk to each other. That's honestly my biggest complaint with this book - I've had too much therapy to abide miscommunication being the only source of conflict between 35 year olds.
That said, there are SO many elements I really loved in this book. The epistolary elements are just perfect. Jacob's family is awesome from his con artist grandfather to his sex therapist mother and his sisters who lack any sense of boundary. I also really loved how Bri's divorce and subsequent grief are portrayed as well as the storyline about her brother's kidney and the impact on both his mental health as well as the people who love him. The author's note indicates that this is a very personal storyline for Abby and you can tell that she's treated it with all the care and nuance it deserves.
Content warnings: Bri's ex-husband has cheated on her with her close friend. Benny's kidney disease leads to depression and potential suicidal ideation. Pregnancy loss and miscarriage are also a theme.
Thanks to Forever and NetGalley for the early copy. All opinions are my own!

I know I probably sound like a broken record, but yes, fellow readers, Abby has done it again! I laughed out loud, I cried, I swooned and my heart felt so full and warm when I completed this story. If you’re a fan of the fake dating and friends-to-lovers trope, this book is for you. People, hang on tight because you’re going to fall in love with Bri and Jacob, as well with all the secondary characters!
Even though they didn’t start off on the right foot, Bri and Jacob have this natural flow and chemistry that goes unmatched to any book couple I’ve read in a long time. Throughout their journey, Abby gives us unforgettable moments that we won’t forget for some time; the lost art of letter writing, the best phone call of all time (you’ll know what I’m talking about later) and supply room lunch dates.
Like her books before, Abby touches heavier topics in this book like chronic illness, abandonment issues, mental health, and she does it beautifully. Reading about these topics within the book really gave me a much needed perspective and understanding I wasn’t aware I needed.
I can’t say enough great things about these two characters. I adored Jacob from the moment I was introduced to him. He’s the book boyfriend of all book boyfriends! Bri is just as hilarious and sweet as we saw her in POYW, and you can’t help but girl crush on her. Each of these characters have a few broken pieces in them, but they come together and create something beautiful from said pieces. You won’t want to miss this book!
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a nice, easy read. Predictable at times, but entertaining nonetheless! Likeable characters. Funny, serious and silly. Recommend!

No words just Jacob Maddox. Ok but seriously how does Abby Jimenez keep releasing banger after banger??????? Like I strongly disliked TFZ but every single freaking book following that one has been five big stars.
I’ll say it again…. JACOB MADDOX. I actually have no words to describe this man other than every positive word you could think of to describe a man who is NOT like other men. I connected soooo much to his anxiety and I personally felt like the author did such a good job with the anxiety rep. The plant room???? Lieutenant Dan???? His family??? The socks?? The headboard?? The flowers?? Taco bell? Just give me a Jacob. NOW.
Bri was absolutely fantastic. She was so hilarious I died every-time she spoke. She was smart and confident and just so great. And don’t even get me started on the TENSION between these two. The burn was slooooowww but I honestly didn’t mind it because I RIPPED through this book SO dang fast.
I wanted to scratch my eyeballs out at one point because of the miscommunication but that couldn’t take a star away from this book because it was THAT good.
The letters. THE LETTERS?? Rip my heart out why don’t you. The journal?????? Frig me. EVERYTHING.
Ok I’m done. This book was amazing.

Wow. Abby Jimenez does it again. She manages to pull at the heartstrings while shining light on tough subject matters and making you believe in love. Love that can transcend trauma and hurt.
Abby's books are full of humor interposed with realistic human emotions and flaws. I love that she doesn't shy away from humanity and our messiness, and in fact does her best to share and highlight mental health, physical health, emotional health, and so on from a variety of viewpoints.
Thank you to NetGallery and Abby for giving me the wonderful opportunity to read an advance copy of Yours Truly.

This was such a heartfelt book. The two main characters are both ER doctors who happen to meet when Jacob starts his first day on a bad note and Briana nicknames him Dr. Death. Due to his social anxiety, Jacob starts sending Briana letters and their relationship develops from there.
5 star read. Definitely recommend.
