5 Cinnamon Rolls for Abby's latest book - Yours Truly!!
Abby has a wonderful way of writing beautifully flawed and true characters who tackle serious and delicate topics in such a careful and considerate way.
Yours Truly is Briana's (we first met her in Part Of Your World) and Jacob's (Abby's best cinnamon roll yet) story.
Yours Truly has some common tropes (enemies to friends, fake dating) -- but the way that these situations are handled is unlike any other book I have ever read. I loved that Jacob and Briana used letter writing as their primary form of communication in the beginning -- and I just fell in love with their words and with these two characters immediately.
I felt like I was in a warm cocoon - I had all the feel - as I read this book and I just didn't want it to end.
Both Jacob and Briana had personal issues that they had to contend with - and their journeys were not fake or overdone. Abby Jimenez just has a delicate and masterful touch with each sensitive topic she addresses.
I love all of Abby Jimenez's books, but I think this is my new favorite. Jacob and Briana are going to stay in my heart and mind for a long time.
Thank you to NetGalley, Abby Jimenez, and Forever/Hachette Book Group for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. Yours Truly will be published on 4/11/2023 - and it will well be worth the wait - I promise.

Another fun romance by Abby Jimenez. Briana is an ER doctor, recently divorced, taking care of her sick brother, when the new ER doctor seems set to ruin everything for her. When she finds out that he is her brother's kidney donor, she feels guilty and decides to pretend to be his girlfriend. What could go wrong? My absolute favorite part of this novel was that all of the typical arcs of this trope were completely ignored. Jimenez made a new, fresh set of events and the reader gets a new experience with a classic subject. Super fun!

My love for Abby Jimenez grows with each book. As always, the characters rang true and the romance was very realistic. Briana and Jacob's relationships with each other and their families very authentic. Recommend highly!

Hi. It's me again, here to tell you that Abby Jimenez still remains one of my all-time favorite romance authors!
This book is everything and more. I just absolutely LOVED it. I haven't shed a tear while reading a book in a long time and in this book, I shed TWO. I was so emotionally invested in these characters and the buildup to the breaking point just shred my heart to pieces.
Jimenez nailed down the fake dating trope which leads to an emotional build up to such an incredible ending that will no doubt pull at your heart strings. Abby Jimenez also strikes again with the incredible amount of humour where you are bound to laugh out loud multiple times! My emotions go from 0-100 in almost every book of hers.
Part of Your World is still my all-time favourite, but Yours Truly is following right behind it! Such an incredible author and such an extraordinary story.
Thank you so much Forever Publishing for providing me with an advanced E-book copy in exchange for an honest review.
I can't wait for this book to be in my hands on April 11th, 2023!

After going crazy over PART OF YOUR WORLD by Abby this past spring I was excitedly shocked to see an extension of that story using side characters for YOURS TRULY.
I think the beginning of the book was my favorite getting to know Jacob and Brianna. I loved the hospital backdrop just as much as I did with PART OF YOUR WORLD and I enjoyed the fact that we spent more time there this go around since both characters were doctors. Just seeing their flirtations blossom while understanding how hard it was for Jacob and Brianna in their personal stories to even allow this to happen. The letters they sent to each other were so cute and would have loved more of it on the back end of the plot.
The main problem that irked me through this book was the miscommunication issues our main characters had. Think of any trope thrown into a rom-com and you'll find it in this story. We spent way too long going back and forth between the minds of the two love interests and how they could have saved themselves so much stress if they had just expressed their feelings! Fake dating, jealousy, and working up ridiculous situations in their minds... all of it together just felt a bit over the top.
The ending definitely redeemed the small issues I had with this story. I smiled through the epilogue and loved how it all concluded. And I felt a deeper appreciation for Jacob and the overall story after reading the Author's Note... please don't skip over that!

This book was absolutely adorable! I loved the characters, the wit, the topics of mental health, the friendships! You can’t go wrong with fake-dating, friends-to-lovers or second chance, romance. All three, you’ve hit the romance trifecta!
Thanks so much for this gold!

- Fake-Dating
- A dog with three legs
- mental health representation
- disability representation
- he tells her to sit on his face
- cinnamon roll hero
- A cat that never comes out
- cameos of Daniel & Alexis from POYW
- they both fall HARD but jacob is obsessed with his woman
- a bird that says inappropriate words
- a grandpa that just wants to smoke a cig
- & so much more!
Listen, I adore Abby Jiminez’s writing. Part of Your World and Life’s Too Short were both 5/5 ⭐️’s for me. Now, Yours Truly? 5 Billion/5 ⭐️’s. Somehow this was her strongest work. She is the QUEEN of writing deep characters, developing spicy hot chemistry 🥵, and also making her readers laugh out loud and smile while reading her words. This book was strong in multiple levels. Dealing with both mental health, physical disabilities, and overcoming previous relationships. Jacob’s character is literally the best portrayal of social anxiety I have ever seen. It was realistic, not downplayed or over dramatic, but realistic. Jacob is a sexy cinnamon roll with the cutest dog in the world. I love me some grumpy heroes, but there’s something about a kind, sweet hearted, imperfect guy that just made my heart melt. His kindness & sincerity reminded me of my own partner. I also related to this one because my partner & I met because I sent him a note ☺️ Brianna was a wonderful heroine. Strong-willed, determined, independent, & witty. She’s much akin to a Lorelai Gilmore kind of character. Please read this one if you’re a big fan of Emily Henry-type romances.

5/5

Thank you Netgalley and Abby for the arc of this book!
Each one of Abby Jimenez's books keep getting better and better. This one had me on the edge of my seat as I wanted to know what happened next. I adored this book and can not wait to see Abby next month at the Twin Cities book festival and tell her how much I loved Bri and Jacob.
I absolutely adored these characters. They were so real and the depth the author writes is like no other. The way Jacob works through his anxiety by journaling, medication and therapy is such a good representation of healthy mental wellness. Bri is strong, independent and I loved her friendship with Alexis (the main character in Part of Your World). I'm beyond happy I got to read this book early and can not say enough amazing things about it!
You'd love this book if you like:
-workplace romance
-mental health representation in books (specifically panic attacks, anxiety, depression and trama)
-fake dating
-hilarious, serious and steamy books
I already pre-ordered this book and you should too!

If I wasn’t already a huge Jimenez fan, this book would absolutely have sealed the deal. From the start of the book I could already tell this would be my favorite of hers. Without spoiling anything, I will just say I am Jacob. Jacob is me. I felt so seen and have never connected to a character so much in all my reading. The way Bri understood and accepted him was just so incredible. This will certainly become a comfort read for me that I’ll revisit time and time again. It made me laugh and shed all the happy, “this is so sweet” tears. I can’t thank Abby Jimenez enough for writing a character like Jacob.

I was very excited to receive an ARC of Abby Jimenez's new book. Huge thanks to #NetGalley, #ForeverGrandCentralPublishing and #AbbyJimenez.
This is the story of Briana Ortiz, an ER doctor who's trying to put her life back on track in the midst of her divorce and dealing with a major health issue with her brother. Then enters, Jacob Maddox, who is given the nickname Dr Death on his first unfortunate day in her ER. They get off to a very rocky start, mainly from misunderstandings. Jacob deals with severe social anxiety and comes off a little rude until you get to know him a little better. I loved watching these two uncover each other's past issues and learn to help each other out. Abby always deals with sensitive issues in such a positive and loving way, and also with quite a bit of humor thrown in! As usual, there is a crazy cast of characters and cute animals too. His sisters were all so different but funny in their own ways. The grandpa was my absolute favorite side character. Whizzing around in his electric wheelchair and begging for cigarettes! Then throw in the bird with a very foul mouth and I found myself laughing out loud several times. Jacob's dog, Lieutenant Dan was adorable also.
I loved being back in this world and also catching up with Alexis and Daniel a little too. Abby's writing is perfect as always! I highly recommend this one and if you haven't read her others, you should right away! She will always be an auto-buy author for me! She's also so interactive with her fans on Facebook and Instagram. I loved seeing little parts of her weaved in the book from stories she's told online.
Go put this on your TBR and get your pre-orders in now!

Ugh, my heart! Abby Jimenez has really ripped my heart out, smashed it, and then put it back together again in less than 400 pages.
If you read Part of Your World, you’re familiar with Bri, but not her entire story. It is heartbreaking and inspiring all at once. Bri and Jacob are both so likable it’s hard not to feel their feelings and root for them! Jacob may just be my new book boyfriend 😍 Run and preorder this book now!

Yours Truly is truly a gem! Abby Jimenez once again gave us a relatable, touching story that you won't want to put down. This book reminds us to not rely on first impressions and that not everything is what it seems when we make assumptions about others. A fun, heart felt story about finding love where you don't expect it. Highly recommend! 5 out of 5 stars!

This has to be hands down my favorite Abby Jimenez book, and that is saying something because I adore all her books.
For all of us anxiety ridden people in the world, this is our book. This book satisfied something deep in my soul and I am loving all the romance/woman's fiction books that are tackling real issues and showing that everyone deserves love and respect.
Bri and Jacob friendship evolution was gentle and heartfelt, their miscommunication as their feelings deepened was poignant. The way they stood up for each other, stood by each other, the way that they were home for each other was like sitting next to a warm woodstove on a snowy day. It melts you in the best possible way.

Right off the bat we're dealing with two very smart characters. They're both doctors in the E..R. so they must have their stuff together. Not so. Because they're both still human and they each have their own worries. One has been burned and has no interest in anything remotely resembling falling in love ever again. Besides, she's got a sick sibling to look after. The other has severe social anxiety, but has to deal with his ex(troverted) girlfriend getting engaged to his brother. Wires get crossed. Deals get made. I only wanted to yell at the characters a little bit.. Such a great read.

I've been a long-time fan of Abby Jimenez, and am thoroughly convinced she's getting extraordinarily better and better as a writer. I'm pretty sure that's the goal in that profession, but this almost feels as if she's sold her soul to the devil in order to produce these new stories and characters and I am HERE FOR IT.
On a serious note, Yours Truly has now booted Happy Ever After Playlist out of my #1 favorite slot and I couldn't be more excited about it. Yours Truly brings more difficult real-life scenarios into play in the form of the main character Bree's brother needing a kidney transplant. In comes our hero and love male interest, Jacob, to save the day and become our next swoon-worth cinnamon roll love interest. What specifically drew me to Jacob is that his character deals with social anxiety. I personally have social anxiety and I have never seen it written so authentically within a fiction book. I related fully to Jacob's anxiety problems and watching Bree and Jacob's relationship come full circle was such a fun experience as a reader. I related to Jacob to the nth degree and then felt so bad for Bree's internal struggles, as she's coming out of an extremely hurtful divorce that has left some lingering trauma for her.
Fans of Abby Jimenez will not be disappointed and I can't wait to begin recommending this (but pushing that they read Part of Your World prior to this if they haven't, because mild spoilers and Easter Eggs for that book live in Yours Truly) to all of my reading friends that are not absolutely sick of me recommending her books to begin with. I'll still be recommending this to those friends, regardless, let's be real.
Thank you to Abby Jimenez and the publishers for granting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Go ahead and add this book immediately to the books you MUST READ in 2023. It is so well written, so funny, and packs such a solid emotional punch. Briana Ortiz has become my #1 favorite romance heroine. Briana has just been through a really awful divorce, she's dealing with her brother's life threatening chronic illness, and a new coworker who is not only rude, but might be stealing the job she has been working towards for 10 years. Even with all of that going on - she still shows up for her friends, her brother, and even that new coworker. Jacob is just a sweet, sweet man. He goes all in for Briana, even when she doesn't realize it and her baggage keeps her from seeing the depth of his feelings. Watching Briana and Jacob fall in love and find the person who not only loves them, but understands them is just a privilege. Both of them have been in bad relationships that ended terribly - but in finding each other they both find what love should be.
This book definitely tackles some extremely difficult issues - anxiety, chronic illness (kidney disease), organ transplant, pregnancy loss, and parental abandonment. But it does talk in a very honest and open way about the importance of therapy, positive self-care, and support networks.
I give this one a very solid 4.5 stars - my only gripe (and it really is a small one) is that I got frustrated with Briana towards the end before we even came to the final big moments of difficulty between them. But I know that was intentional - and a vehicle to show just how deep her trauma was - but I was mad at her for not being more willing to talk to Jacob. So even that - is really more me than the book.
I can't really recommend this book more highly - it is a gem.
I received this via NetGalley as an ARC, but these opinions are all my own.

Abby Jimenez has quickly become one of my favorite romcom authors, and this book did not disappoint. As someone who lives with social anxiety, it felt very validating and encouraging to not only see it portrayed so accurately with Jacob, but to see him receive such love and support from his best friend, his family, and of course Brianna. Jimenez never fails to perfectly capture what falling in love feels like, so much so that it’s nearly impossible for the reader to not fall in love with both characters as well as root for their blooming love. She also always makes sure to raise awareness for important/underrepresented causes which I believe is what gives her books even more heart. I loved this story from start to finish!

Once again, Abby has given us a 5-star novel! Yours Truly was another "I can not put this book down", read. Briana and Jacob's journey is a roller-coaster, as many love stories are. The way these characters navigate each other through everything from anxieties and trauma, to understanding and undeniable adoration, is something dreams are made of. This story will run you through all of your emotions and make you keep turning the page for more.

I found this story very endearing and definitely connected more with the characters more than I thought that I would. I thought that there were some twists that may have been a bit overkill, but all in all it was an engaging read and I loved the way the resolution and felt good chemistry between the mains.

Abby Jimenez has done it again! Each book she writes is amazing and I love how the characters are all in the same world/universe without the stories being too similar or overlapping. Each of her characters is relatable on some level, but “Yours Truly” was particularly relatable because of the themes of genuine friendship, familial love, living with anxiety, and learning to trust others after being hurt. This novel touches on all this while simultaneously being hilarious and adorable.. “Yours Truly” is my favorite out of what she’s written so far and I 10/10 recommend reading it ASAP!
