Abby Jimenez did it again. This book is the best of the series and I don't even know how she managed that. Brianna and Jacob were the perfect mix of miscommunication and passion from the meet cute and they evolved into friendship and love and heartache in the most organic way.

This book is for you if you love a cinnamon roll hero who will melt your heart and cherish your soul. Seriously Jacob is all the things and more. Brianna is post-divorce and has written off relationships when she meets and hates Jacob. Their slow burn was an extremely fun experience. The story felt very complex and yet super easy to read. There was a level of depth that kept me interested and also a soft lighthearted tone. I love a romance that can be a comedy and still feel real and with the range of topics covered in this one there was a lot to keep the reader interested beyond the romance. The story included topics like gender dynamics in the workplace, anxiety, introverted-ness, Kidney failure, pregnancy loss, cheating (prior), divorce, With that said, the romance really sweeps you off your feet with the slow start and the strong feelings followed by the mega explosive chemistry. Abby really made us work for it and it was totally worth it.

Add this to your TBR and pre-order it asap.

Abby Jimenez has done it again! Yours Truly is now my favorite book.

Yours Truly centers around two doctors that fake date and fall for each other. You will absolutely have you rooting for Bri and Jacob.

I really loved the integration of Spanish and Salvadoran culture. The way the families were supportive and caring and outright funny.

There are heavier topics (ie anxiety, miscarriage) but you will get your HEA.

I loved this so much! Abby Jimenez has a way with words. I loved part of your world so was eager to pick this up and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed the discussion of mental health themes and the family dynamics. I didn’t want to put it down! Also enjoyed the hospital setting and the health topics incorporated.

One reason I LOVED part of your world is because it felt realistic and I felt that less so with this one, but still really loved.

4.5/5

Abby has done it again!!! I couldn’t put this book down. Somehow she gets all of the rom com elements in there without Yours Truly feeling like this has all been done before! The main characters are so relatable and you root for them for all of the right reasons!
ER doc Briana has had an awful year and she’s trying to keep her head above water emotionally then comes Jacob Maddox, will she love him or hate him when it’s all said and done?
Don’t sleep on Yours Truly! I couldn’t put it down and was sad to say goodbye to these two for now!

Whenever a new book comes out by Abby, I eagerly wait to get my hands on it! This book was no different & I am excited that I got an advanced copy. Abby writes about real life situations and makes the characters feel like your best friends. Whenever I read a book by Abby, I feel disconnected from my own life and immersed into the world of the characters. I love the way all the stories are linked but still could be read alone.

This book was no different. As the story begun, I was quickly sucked in and knew I was not going to put it down. Brianna and Jacob immediately have a connection that you fall in love with. Taking place mostly in an emergency room, it is full of surprises and unexpected events. With Brianna and Jacob being doctors and patients, this story sure does have twists and turns. The witty banter, handwritten notes, and love story in this book are flawless. The story covers divorce, social aniexty, kidney donation, family drama, and so much more.

I will recommend this book to everyone I know. Anyone who mentions they need a new book or series, I suggest Abby Jimenez and all her books. While they aren't a series, the connection from one to another is really something remarkable and I am so happy Abby is creating her own character universe.

I love everything that Abby Jimenez writes! Yours Truly is another startlingly real and vulnerable story that she has added to her repertoire.
The story is in the same veins as The Happy Ever After Playlist, in the sense that they both deal with heavy subjects, with some moments that will punch you right in the gut, and some that will have you cackling with laughter.
While on the heavy subjects (anxiety, sickness), I feel that Abby has dealt with them with knowledge and respect. How she has crafted both the main characters Jacob (my Kindle notes are full of "Jakey <3") and Brianna absolutely follows through in the way that they interact with each other and other people. They seem to be opposites, but Brianna is the calm to Jacob's (inner) storms.
The story slowly progresses from them being strangers, to writing letters to each other, to actually get to talking and spending time with each other. This feels real to who they are. Jacob is the kindest and most thoughtful person, an introvert who is ready to go out of his comfort zone for Brianna. Brianna cracks me up with her banter and the conversation subjects she comes up with.
As with Abby's previous works, the journey towards the HEA is full of vulnerabilities and insecurities, and when they make it to the end, it's the most satisfactory thing ever.
Looking forward to getting a physical copy of this gem to add to my bookshelf!
Small appreciation note to Abby for trusting her readers by sharing fragments of herself through her books.

Thank you to the author and publisher for the ARC via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

O. M. G!! Every time, I think that Abby's books couldn't possibly get any better...but every time, they do! As someone with social anxiety, it was so incredible to see the experience written about accurately and tactfully. These characters feel as real as any I've read about. The stories continue to be real, heart-wrenching, hilarious, and so thoroughly enjoyable. Abby, your books are, as always, a perfect match!

First of all, I am OBSESSED with Jacob Maddox.

Okay, now for the review. I devoured this book in just a couple sittings and stayed up way too late to finish this because I absolutely could not put it down. The chemistry and emotional connection between Jacob and Briana is flawless. I loved that Abby Jimenez did a deep dive into the reality of anxiety with Jacob's character, and hit on some points of depression with both of them. It was messy and sad and realistic, which is exactly how it is in real life. She did a fantastic job of showing their journey, both together and individually, and how they grew and changed for the better while still carrying the weight of their past with them.

If there is anything to complain about, I would say that it was a bit long for a romcom (or maybe it just felt that way because we get a lot of internal dialogue). I will also say that I hate the third-act breakup, but it's almost unavoidable at this point. Despite these things, I still highly recommend this book and loved it to pieces!

I just love Abby’s writing. Plain and simple! This was a little different than her previous books, but I thought it was so refreshing!

Briana is an ER doctor who is finalizing her divorce while her brother’s health is failing when she literally runs into the new ER doctor, Jacob. He begins writing her letters and she writes him back! Their story blossoms from there when he is a perfect match for her brother’s kidney transplant and she fake dates him to buffer a family event.

It’s written from dual POV which I love and there is obviously an adorable, furry side kick which is something I adore about Abby’s stories!
This story highlights divorce, pregnancy loss and people dealing with social anxiety and depression, which I think is so necessary, especially when it applies to a male character. I liked that this was highlighted, although i was mildly irked when Jacob was very fourthcoming about his anxieties immediately (almost in a textbook way, I felt). I got over this pretty quickly and tried to see this as being how it should be when dealing with any type of mental health topics!

Last thing that I loved about this book was the medical setting and banter. I’m a medical professional so I always love a good fiction book that seems realistic when it comes to the medical side and I liked it!

Abby Jimenez does it again. Another funny, sexy love story filled with depth and, in my opinion, her best writing so far. She has never shied away from difficult topics, and this book is no different.
She addresses Bri's brother's desperate need for a kidney and the depression that accompanies it. The agony of anxiety, divorce, and miscarriage is handled with grace and respect. I appreciate how well researched these topics are, but also written so personally. Side characters are hilarious, and we get the usual Easter eggs Jimenez is known for. What a great book. Thanks to Netgalley and Estelle for the ARC.

Abby, you've done it again! This book left me gutted, in the best possible way.

Briana Ortiz and Jacob Maddox are Emergency Room physicians at Royaume Northwestern. On Jacob's first day at the hospital, due to just bad luck, he ends up losing all of his patients, earning him the nickname "Dr. Death". Combine that with a not-so-stellar introduction and Briana is not a fan of Jacob. What Briana doesn't know is that Jacob suffers from some pretty severe anxiety. This leaves Jacob coming across as standoffish and a jerk.

When Jacob realizes that he may have offended Briana, he decides to apologize via letter. It's a really good letter too. Briana writes him back. And Jacob writes her back. So begins a friendship. Guys, I am such a sucker for an epistolary romance and their letter writing scratched all my itches.

Briana's brother, Benny, is in kidney failure due to an autoimmune disease. He's on a waitlist for a kidney transplant but due to having a rare blood type, the chances of finding a match are very slim. Jacob, having O Negative type blood, decides to see if he might be a match for Benny and ends up being a "perfect match". With is feelings for Briana intensifying, it's a no-brainer for him to donate a kidney to Benny. At first, Jacob wants the donation to remain anonymous. With his anxiety, the thought of receiving accolades and gratitude in such a public manner is a nightmare.

Briana eventually finds out that Jacob is Benny's kidney donor. To thank him, she agrees to "fake date" Jacob. You see, Jacob's ex-girlfriend is now engaged to Jacob's brother and the wedding is coming up. The rest of Jacob's family is concerned that Jacob isn't over the ex-girlfriend, when in actuality, he really is. So he tells his family that he has moved on and has a girlfriend. Enter Briana.

Seeing the two of them fake date is so delicious. Briana comes up with Would You Rather questions to get to know each other and I was cracking up every time. Briana understands Jacob in a way that no one else does. She is so conscious of Jacob's anxiety and provides comfort and care to him. Briana comes up with secret phrases for him to work into conversation when he's had enough of people. If he says the secret phrase, she knows to get him out of whatever situation they're in. The results are absolutely hysterical.

Abby's books get better each time and this is no exception. She has a gift with storytelling. I get sucked into each world and fall in love with all the characters. This book is 5 stars, 1000/10, Would Recommend Every Time, Does Not Disappoint.

Thank you to the powers that be that approved me for an ARC!

I love the heart of all of Abby Jimenez's books and of course the witty banter. While some of the "funny" felt forced at times, this is one that leaves you thinking about the characters long after you set it down.

I love Abby Jimenez's writing, and Yours Truly did not disappoint! While I was frustrated with the lack of communication for a majority of the book, I also just loved the main characters and stories. Jimenez always writes about difficult topics in such a relatable way. I would highly recommend, I couldn't put this book down!

4.5 rounded up

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez

Abby Jimenez is one of the greats! She blows me away with her writing style in every book. The way she can create a depth to the characters, while still keeping the book light hearted and romantic is incredible. I love how she weaves humor into all her books and makes you laugh and cry throughout the story.

I enjoyed every page of this book. I always connect deeply to the characters Abby creates in her books. I felt a strong connection to Jacob who suffers from social anxiety and has a love for houseplants!!

I recommend reading Part of Your World first. Abby does a great job of intertwining characters from previous books and I really enjoyed the updates about Alexis and Daniel.

This book has all the great tropes! Enemies, friends, one bed, miscommunication, fake dating!! I am not always a fan of the fake dating trope but in this case I absolutely loved it.

The only minor issue I had during the story was I felt the miscommunication between the two main characters, about how they felt for each other, went on a little too long. However, it made it all worth it once they figured it out.

I would give this book a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ five stars!

I hope there is more from this friend circle!

After this, I’m convinced: Abby Jimenez is an auto buy author for me. YOURS TRULY is a crowning achievement — a masterful romance with so much depth.

I loved reading about Briana & Jacob, specifically just how much they liked each other, but also the way their past trauma and current realities - including anxiety - played into their relationship. I also think that Jimenez writes the most physically accurate anxiety descriptions I’ve ever seen.

And this book was funny, in classic Jimenez style but also a miscommunication or two made me tear up, & I actually felt so tenderly for Briana & what she’s walking through.

Anyways - it is not for everyone but this read is certainly for me.

Of all of Abby Jimenez's books, this one hit me the most so far. The themes surrounding mental health and healing from the dissolution of long-term romances where you are still bound to interact with your ex on a regular basis? Yep, I feel all that and I'm guessing we all have at one point or another. Abby went to great lengths to get the mental health aspects right, and to approach them with sensitivity and dignity--something many fiction writers miss. While the different specific symptoms, presentations, self-care practices, and treatments presented in this book will not work for everybody (AKA: Your Mileage May Very, please check with your own therapist/therapy team) she does present a wide example of things that DO work for different people.

I came across a passage tonight that I, personally, will be coming back to time and time again. Without giving out spoilers, I am confident that if you are an Abby Jimenez fan, or if you have dealt with mental health issues, you will as well.

Congratulations, Abby, on another truly excellent book!

Abby Jimenez is an instant-read author for me and this one did not disappoint. I liked that her characters have real-life struggles and are always a part of their relationship. Bri was a fantastic strong-willed female main character and Jacob's life with anxiety was very relatable. Loved this one!

I’ve never been steered wrong by an Abby Jimenez book, and this is no different. The depth she brings the her characters is something that’s rare to find. The banter is incredible. The writing is magnificent. And I cried because of how beautiful the relationship between the two main characters was. This book is a must!

Anyone who has been left by someone they loved, can feel Briana’s pain. And anyone with anxiety understands Jacob. (Boy do I really understand Jacob). They begin an unconventional friendship with handwritten letters even though they work in the same hospital ER. Briana is preoccupied with her brother who is in need of a kidney transplant but agrees to be a stand in girlfriend for Jacob when he tells his family he is dating to get them off his back. Neither of them plan for this arrangement to be anything but temporary. But as they get to know each other they start to question if that is really what either of them wants. I adored both of these characters. They are real and relatable and I was cheering for them and crying for them as they fought their demons to be there for each other. Brianna and Jacob may be my favorite Abby Jimenez couple yet. I can’t wait for her next book!
