Abby has a way of creating such relatable, endearing characters that you just want to root for them, as though they're your closest friends--in this book, it's Bri's brother, Benny, as well as Dr. Jacob Maddox, and of course, Bri. It's not enough to say that I adored this book; it has skyrocketed to my favorites, as have Abby Jimenez's other books. I read Part of Your World in a day and am so glad that Yours Truly centers around Dr. Briana Ortiz, Alexis' best friend in Part of Your World, and am thrilled that Bri gets the ending that she deserves.

Infinite thanks to Abby Jimenez, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and NetGalley for the ARC!

This has some fun Grey's Anatomy feels, and I was really enjoying the first third. Then we went into the "fake relationship" trope and I just need to know the statistics on that happening in real life, because it sure seems to happen a lot in the romance books I am picking up.
I did love the subplots, the male lead dealing with anxiety disorder was well done.
I really wanted more work scenes, more Grey's Anatomy, less family dinners.
Cute read though, would definitely recommend at the library to contemporary romance fans.

I think Abby has another hit with "Yours Truly." She captures an amazing couple of people (on their own) that become only more amazing once they come together.

It was lovely to see hand-written letters featured in this book. I remember the days of writing letters to my grandparents, friends & boyfriends and the written word can be so special and intimate in a way many people now-a-days will never know. Bravo to Abby on having that as part of this book.

Anxiety, which I suffer from, is also something that I felt was finally represented in a truthful way. Not that other authors aren't truthful but maybe they don't really know about it enough to write a true representation of what it's like when you have it. Bri and Jacob manage to tackle many things almost immediately together and it really sucked me in and made me root for them so much!!

A book that can bring together so many true-to-life things (organ donation, love, anxiety) and give you all the warm fuzzies at the end of it is a win in my book. I would definitely recommend this book!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m positive Abby can do no wrong. I devoured Yours Truly in one sitting and am still thinking about it.

I of course don’t want to give anything away, but Jacob and Bri were absolutely adorable. Abby tackles tough situations in her stories and always does them in such a beautiful way.

You’ll laugh out loud
Read the cutest letters 💌
Meet a three legged dog named Lieutenant Dan
Get a fake dating situation 🔥
Dual POV

I will say I think the last bit of the book felt more was needed in terms of the “conflict” and surgery situation, I would have enjoyed to read more about that. Other than that, I loved it so much!

TW: Chronic illness, mental health (anxiety), quick mention of previous miscarriage

Thank you NetGalley and Forever for the ARC! Everyone pick this one up April 2023!

I'm really sorry to say that I didn't love this book/best friend duo as much as the first two, I just wasn't feeling it as much. Maybe because some parts of the book, such as the fake dating trope, were a little forced. I did really like Jacob though and his cinnamon roll-ness.

It was cool to see an organ transplant written in a fictional book I've only seen one other time in Unlikely Match by Laura Bradbury and I just discovered that book a few days ago.

Six hours…. That’s all it took to turn my heart to complete mush…

I really don’t know how Abby continues to do it. Each year I tell myself there’s no way I could love this new book more than a previous book, and here we are… completely, totally, 100% obsessed!! I always say, the only thing I don’t like is that the books are so good, I demolish them in one sitting and then I’m sad when it’s over. As my husband said when I finished this at 1am, “Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy it happened.” #truth
Your Truly was just the sweetest story that I felt like I related to on so many levels. I have two people very close to me who I felt related to these characters so much. One who battles extreme social anxiety and the other is on daily dialysis due to kidney disease. I am also an older sister who is extremely protective of my little brother and would do absolutely anything to make sure he’s taken care of. One of my favorite things about Abby’s books is that the characters and their stories are always relatable. You feel like either you relate, or they remind you of a friend, or loved one who is in a similar situation. Anytime I can relate to a character, I feel such a deeper connection to the story, and enjoy it so much more.

Speaking of characters… y’all…. Jacob!!! When I say he’s my favorite character out of any book I’ve EVER read. I.LOVE.HIM.SO.MUCH. He was just the absolute sweetest, most genuine man and his chemistry with Bri is just so undeniably perfect. Their story will melt your heart, make you fall in love with them, and probably give you unrealistic expectations of all men (in the best way possible). I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on this book! Thank you, Abby and Netgalley for this ARC! <3

For me personally, there aren’t many books out there that when I finish reading the last sentence on the last page that I immediately want to flip back to the beginning and start all over again. This was one of those books for me, and coincidentally, so was Abby Jimenez’s last book Part of Your World.

Briana Ortiz is an ER physician who has been hit with a lot of life lately and could really use a friend. Enter Dr. Jacob Maddox, the new guy at work who manages to declare 7 people dead on his first day at this ER. He gets off to a really rough start with all of the staff and makes and even worse impression on Bri. Then we find out the poor guy is actually painfully shy and struggles with some legit clinical anxiety. He ends up writing Bri a letter to express what he just can’t in person and she’s floored by how nice he is and feels horrible about all their interactions so she writes him back. Thus begins an unlikely friendship via letters full of hilarious anecdotes about cats named Cooter, three legged dogs named Lieutenant Dan, and drunk extroverts. As they get to know each other, Jacob learns more about Bri’s brother Benny who is in end-stage kidney failure and waiting for a transplant. It turns out Jacob is a perfect match to donate a kidney and he decides to donate anonymously. The anonymous part lasts all of 15 minutes and Bri finds out right away and wants to thank him any way she can. As it turns out, Jacob’s brother is getting married to his ex-girlfriend and he really needs a date to the wedding, a girlfriend even, so his family doesn’t worry about him falling apart. Agreements are made, enter fake dating, feelings get messy, communicating is hard.

I fell in love with both of these characters and wanted to spend more time with them. They felt so incredibly real and even though a lot of their struggle (as is the case in most rom-coms) came from a lack of communication, theirs felt like something that would legitimately happen between real people. Jacob had some pretty intense social anxiety so it felt genuine that he really struggled to come out and make the grand declarations we all love and expect in this kind of story. Jacob is probably one of my all time favorite male main characters. I was so excited for Bri to get a book after reading Part of Your World, she had some of the funniest one-liners in the entire book. She didn’t disappoint in Yours Truly (an allusion to viking-storming Jacob’s village comes to mind) and we get to see how strong and empathetic she is despite everything she’s been through.

As with all of Abby Jimenez’s books, there are equal parts snort-laughs, heart-in-your-throat moments, adorable pets (with the best names ever), and a little bit of magic mixed in for good measure. I am so incredibly grateful to have gotten this book as an ARC from NetGalley and for the community of fans in the Abby Jimenez Readers Group (FKA The FRIEND ZONE discussion group) on Facebook.

I can't say enough good things about this book. The characters, Briana & Jacob were so likeable and relatable. IT was quite refreshing to have a main male character who wasn't "perfect". Jacob suffers from extreme social anxiety and for so long he has struggled with people in his life (specifically his ex-girlfriend) making him feel badly about his anxiety and not understanding him. Briana is dealing with her divorce, where her husband was cheating on her with her good friend. Briana has sworn off love, marriage, and for the most part men in general. Her first interactions with Jacob are not great, but when everyone keeps telling her what a great guy he is, she takes a closer look and sees that maybe he isn't like the rest of the guys in her life who have left her or hurt her. Maybe he will be the one to help her heal.

This book blew me away. This was the first book I read by Abby Jiminez and I was so impressed. Her writing is captivating, funny, and her story telling is wonderful. I absolutely loved Briana & Jacob's story and I can't wait for more from this author!

"Wow" is almost all I have to say! Abby Jiminez is one of my all time favorite novelists. Now, I am not an avid romantic comedy reader, but I dabble in a few a year and to say I look forward to reading Abby's new book every year is a major understatement! Her books make me laugh to the point of snorting, giggle like a kiddo, and cry buckets of major tears. Yours Truly was absolutely no exception on all fronts. Bri is a hilarious and raw character and Jacob makes me absolutely melt with his charm, sweetness, and realness. This book is a true slow burn romance, to the point where I almost threw my tablet several times just begging for the characters to finally get together, I've never wished intimacy on two characters so much in my life! Lastly, I want to commend Abby for a job well done when describing what it feels like to live with anxiety and the challenges of day to day life when handling anxiety.

As the 5th book by Abby Jimenez that I’ve devoured (ahem, read) I can say they only get better and better. There are always little Easter Eggs from previous books tucked in there for her fans, but nothing a new reader of hers couldn’t get past.

This story focuses on a kidney donation, 2 doctors falling in love, anxiety, fear of relationships and navigating it seemingly all alone & the realization that we’re never truly alone. Trusting oneself must not be feared, but learned.

Each chapter flip flops back and forth between main characters so you get their insight into what’s happening, a 2-edged sword if you will, that keeps you turning the page as you wish and wait and hope for them to communicate with each other, not just the reader. I wanted to jump through the pages and help them but couldn’t - however watching it unfold was not only beautiful - but realistic.

The way topics of anxiety, fear, and cheating spouses was handled and written was wonderful, respectful, and painfully accurate. I could easily relate to both main characters.

I can’t wait to see which character she focuses on for her 6th book, maybe Benny? 😉

Every time I read an Abby Jimenez book, I declare it better than the last. This one really takes the cake though, I swear! ER doctor Brianna Ortiz is done still reeling from her divorced and vowed to be done with men, with a brother in need of a kidney transplant and her being his sole caretaker and trying to be the Cheif of the ED department at her hospital she has her hands full anyways. Enter Dr. Death aka Jacob. Maddox. He's a new doctor in the ER and him and Brianna are not meshing. Until her writes her a letter and she writes him back and so begins a whirlwind friendship and much. much more.

HOW DOES SHE KEEP DOING THIS TO US?!
Ms. Jimenez you are incredible. I am now 4/4 on reading her books in one sitting because I simply cannot stop.

This one might be her slowest burn yet and it's worth every second. I love how her conflicts, while slightly...dramatic? just make sense to me. I get why Briana feels so reluctant, I get Jacob's anxiety. She develops her characters in a way that helps you follow the WHY of what they do. Which I believe is a very underrated skill in romance.

All the stars.
All the feelings.
I'm sorry y'all have to wait until April.

I've been a huge fan of Abby Jimenez's writing since The Friend Zone & her most recent book Yours Truly did not disappoint as well. Abby writes about real, human issues while adding many moments of laugh out loud humor all wrapped up in a great storyline that you don't want to stop reading. Her characters have so much dimension & I honestly want to be friends with so many of them in real life cause they're just all fantastically written. I so look forward to each book that Abby writes cause I know they're gonna be wonderful! Do yourself a favor & read this amazing story, Yours Truly. You'll laugh, you might cry, but you'll be enthralled with Bri & Jacob's lives as they work through their issues to find happiness with each other.

Yours Truly is another extraordinary tale woven in a mosaic from Abby's real life experiences and fictional heroes. It will have you laughing out loud one moment, yelling expletives like a parrot at people, and serves epic gut-punches throughout like only Abby can. Have tissues on standby. Her range of characters, emotions, and the quick, witty narrative did not disappoint. I recently started to suffer from anxiety and have never felt so seen and understood by a character. Jacob's social anxiety reactions, teamed with Briana's support and understanding, normalize something that many find embarrassing and try to hide. If more people understood social anxiety and offered support and solutions like Briana, those who suffer attacks would feel more comfortable seeking help and being vocal with friends and family. Lieutenant Dan was also a great example of an emotional support dog for anxiety attacks, although I would have liked to read something explicit in the epilogue about Lieutenant Dan being self-trained by Jacob and Briana as a psychiatric service dog or an emotional support animal for Jacob. If you love Abby's books, or have never read one before, race to pre-order Yours Truly now, you NEED this book in your life.

I ADORED this book. My favorite Abby Jimenez book. Briana and Jacob are perfectly flawed and beautiful. They’re messy. They’re imperfect. They show up and are perfect. I love this one so much and can’t wait to own a copy in April!

This might be my favorite book Abby has written so far…although I say that with every book she writes. I was ecstatic when I was given an ARC from NetGalley to review “Yours Truly”. Abby has been one of my favorite authors and social media follows for years.

As someone who works in the medical field, I was weary when I realized this was another book set in the ER. However, Abby did a great job depicting the medical scenes. Only issue is docs don’t get lunch breaks, but I’ll let it slide.

The romance in this book is top notch. I loved the lead up and the misunderstandings and the humor. I cried twice.

Thank you Abby for also allowing us into your life with the Author’s Note. I hope your health continues to be “falling up”. :)

Thank you again to Forever and NetGalley for allowing me to read Yours Truly before it is published.

Exactly what you’ve come to expect from Abby. Well thought out, developed and (flawed), but loves me characters written into a beautiful love story with humor, wit and all the feels. Love books that make you smile, laugh out loud and tear up all at once. Noticeably researched and well presented sensitive topics written with grace and thoughtfulness. Five stars!

Abby has done it again! I was hooked from the first sentence and couldn’t put the book down. Abby has such a gift that she can draw you in from the first page and you feel part of the story. You are so engrossed in the story, so involved in the lives of relatable characters with real life issues, you forget you are reading a book. Yours Truly grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go. You experience big emotions throughout the book and ends as every Abby Jimenez book leaves you, wanting more. Another home run!

Wowow, there's nothing like a stunningly heartfelt book that makes you silently weep on a Sunday morning! I've read all of Jimenez's books so far, and I have to say this was one of my favourites by far! It was just so heartfelt and I really, truly believed in the characters and their respective journeys. I think one of Jimenez's strengths is in her character writing/development, I fell in love with both Bri, Jacob, and heir families. 'Yours Truly," follows Bri (a side character from her previous book 'Part of Your World,') who is recovering from a nasty divorce and helping her brother in his battle against a chronic illness, and Jacob, a new ER doctor at her hospital, who deals with crippling social anxiety and a recent breakup. Its the perfect friends-fake dating-lovers book for your cozy Sunday morning.
As my coworker Cassidy said about the previous novel, this is something we all love and need more of, #smutwithsubstance.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Abby Jimenez, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!

If you follow my stories, you know that this was a rollercoaster read for me. I started out reading it just so I didn't have fomo, but knowing all this author's books follow a template: MCs that are life-savers and super do-gooders? Check! Some LGBTQ characters who are mentioned as being queer once but their queerness is never talked about again? Check! A family member that is in need of help and the MC does everything they can to "fix" them? Check! Someone has a mental illness or illness and that's their entire personality (in this case it was anxiety)? Check! Because of that I hated the first half... but then the characters grew on me, and by the time they finally kissed I was cheering them on. That did not last for long though because one of the characters needed therapy (this is mentioned) and led to immature actions, lack of communication, and stupid decisions. There was so much hope there for a bit, but maybe I should stop reading books by this author. Rant over.
