A witty seasonal read.
After ten years in a relationship and driving home for Christmas the length of Britain. What happens during the journey and afterwards at the homes of their respective parents will define Ed and Kate's relationship going forward.
Will it survive?

Having read this author’s previous books, I was looking forward to this one and it doesn’t disappoint.

Kate and Ed have been making the same journey home at Christmas for the last ten years. Together since they were teenagers, they are now not sure they want the same things. So will this make or break Christmas bring them closer together or push them further apart?

A great story with a good cast of characters which was an enjoyable and entertaining read.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC of 'Driving Home for Christmas' by Joanna Bolouri.

'Driving Home for Christmas' is one of those Christmas reads I expected better from. I had high expectations that weren't met. I don't think I could ever explain it but the plot wasn't working for me, none of the characters felt interesting to me. It was overall underwhelming.

Thank you for the advanced copy.

An easy read over an afternoon, well written, great characters that I found myself attached to. Ideal for a beach day or a lovely afternoon in the garden

3.5 stars
Kate is a successful divorce lawyer who has built her reputation on taking the reality TV stars that her more upper-class colleagues can't connect with. The problem with being a successful divorce lawyer to social media personalities is that they demand attention 24/7 which means she is working all the time.

Ed is very musical, at one point he was in a band and writing his own songs, but fear of the unknown led him to become a music teacher instead.

Kate and Ed have been together for ten years, since school, they've survived going to separate universities but this Christmas could be their last. Driving back home to celebrate with their families they have an almighty row and realise that maybe this could be the end. Or could living apart force them to reassess their priorities?

I literally devoured this book in a few hours and it kept me company on a nice evening!
A book full of Christmas air, some very interesting characters, a romance on the road, a fabulous writing and a lot of emotions!

Some things were pretty predictable and I didn't like certain scenes, but otherwise the book is great. Highly recommended for those looking for a Christmas reading full of emotions.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC.

I really enjoyed this, I don't think there was much doubt in my mind how it would end but I enjoyed the journey and the way in which both Kate and Ed grew and changed.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

a story full of christmas music, warm scarves, family conversations and reconciliations that would certainly put anyone in the christmas spirit even in the summer (as it has done for me).

the fact that one of the first conversations between ed and kate was about molly ringwald and the breakfast club was one of the clues that let me know I was really going to enjoy this book.
gubba and lauren have definitely been my favourite characters, I think their humour and support for kate was much needed.

some little things are predictable and i would have loved for the two of them to have had more deep conversations about their thoughts and feelings, but i enjoyed it and the ending truly warmed my heart :)

Three Christmases.
Two broken hearts.
One hell of a journey.

Driving home marks the start of the holidays for Kate and Ed, who have made this journey every Christmas of their ten-year long relationship. Normally the seasonal hits blare from the car stereo, and they are guaranteed to be wearing ridiculous jumpers in anticipation, but this year a frosty silence fills the car...

A massive argument leads to the immediate collapse of their relationship. But the show must go on, so they decide to brave their families together one last time.

With three Christmases to celebrate, an old flame waiting under the mistletoe and a shed load of expectation around their future together, this most wonderful time of year is anything but. There will be turkey, tiffs and tantrums galore, but it's sure to be a Christmas they'll never forget.

Really enjoyable read totally recommend
