Thank you NetGalley and Avon for letting me read this. After reading about 140 pages I DNFed. Although I found the characters and family dynamic interesting I wish there was a little more progression in the story. Overall gave would give it a 3.5 stars.

Given the packaging, I assumed Moorewood Family Rules would be a humorous contemporary romance with a plot based on con artists.

If you are expecting a believable romance which is integral to the plot, this is not the book. The romance could be removed and not affect the story at all.

If you are looking for a story about privileged, spoiled sociopaths doing evil things to each other, then this hits those buttons.

The mood of this book was a struggle. There was a lighthearted, breezy quality which clashed with the character’s actions. Would someone be blasé about their sister trying to murder them?

Part of what I love about a good heist story is a balancing of the scales and the Robin Hood factor. Or, at the very least, people who learn a lesson and are redeemed or make restitution. In this case, there is no redemption, but we have a whole family of Sheriffs of Nottingham competing to be the least worst human.

Where I was rooting for Jillian to bring these con artists, Ponzi schemers, love scammers, and confessed murderers to heel, that never really happens. We’re left with a deeply unsatisfying end after a promising start.

Overall this was a great read. I loved the plot of this book. It had enough twists to keep it fun and entertaining. The description of the book sounded great, and it definitely lived up to that.

***Spoilers: I kind of wish Beck and Jillian didn't end up together. I don't think the book needed the romance. It would have been good without that. Or I wish it took longer for them to get together. It seemed too quick. Otherwise they were cute together.***

Definitely a good read, and one I recommend.

Thank you NetGalley for the read!

This was quirky, oddball, off-paced and just not my favorite.

Unfortunately the cover and blurb may be the best part of this book. I was so looking forward to this, and unfortunately it just didn't work. It was so slow. So. Incredibly. Slow. Painfully slow.

There were tons of characters and I wanted to love this, but I found myself reading one page, then having to re-read it multiple times because I kept losing interest.

What an engaging and addictive read! I absolutely loved this one!!

This author has written a captivating story about a family of conniving and manipulative con artists that I found was impossible to break from, once I began reading. It was entirely fun to read each character's self-involvement and personal criminal grift, only to see those take a backseat, when Jillian returns home.

Jillian is a well written, compelling character, with a lofty goal to correct her family's criminal ways and find retribution for her sacrifice. Little did she know how hard her family would fight against her! The connections and alliances within this dysfunctional family are very interesting. The family members do not disappoint in the entertaining depths they reach to continue their activities. These pages kept my attention and interest the entire read.

Beck and Jillian's banter and relationship was humorous and charming, and I enjoyed how this story resolved. The pages seemed to turn themselves, and I reached the ending much too soon for my liking. I leave this read feeling pleased and very entertained. I absolutely recommend this read, and look forward to the next new release from this talented, creative author.

My thanks to HarperCollins Publishers and NetGalley for providing my free ARC, and I am happy to leave my honest review.

This felt like the grown-up version of Heist Society mixed with the humor of Knives Out. I really enjoyed this book and felt it kept a good pace while we uncovered all of the family secrets. I also enjoyed how the romance was there, but didn't overshadow the main plot at all.

I read this in one day it was that good! I couldn't put it down! I loved the characters, and the wittiness of the dialogue and the family dynamics, I loved it all! I can't say it enough - seriously, go read this book for yourself now, its unputdownable and unforgettable!

A hilarious laugh-out-loud title I can't wait to add to our collection. We love books that make us laugh and this cast of not-so-likable-but-you-gotta-love-them characters are spectacular. Can't wait to read more from this author.

** Thank you to NetGalley and Avon books for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. **

Jillian Moorewood never told her family that she was back. And she certainly never told them that she planned to return home, in the middle of a party, via a helicopter landing in the middle of her family's palatial estate. But, when you are returning home from prison to your family of con artists, you don't exactly do things quietly.

After taking the fall for her family's misdeeds, Jillian returns home with one goal in mind: Revenge. Three years in prison gave her plenty of time to think of all the ways she could get her family to shape up or ship out, make the one responsible for sending her to prison fess up, and she's not about to back down. Throw in a cast of ridiculous characters, a nosy (not at all hot) bodyguard, and shady schemes and you have a book that will keep you laughing throughout.

Moorewood Family Rules was a hysterical book that kept me turning the pages, hungry for more. I don't think I've devoured a book so quickly as I did this one in a very long time. The characters are quirky and the family dynamics are just *chef's kiss* perfection! My only complaint was that it all ended too quickly.

As someone with a complicated family dynamic who loves heists, I loved this book. The Morewoods aren't really a conventional family, but the way in which Dimon writes about their dynamic was really intriguing. Can't wait to purchase!

Wanted to like this much more than I did. The style is third-person but super duper removed. I wanted to be closer to our protagonist. I also think it would have been funnier that way. A great blurb, a less than great book.

What a fun book! A family of grifters may not realize it, but it is time to give up the grift. Jillian has paid the price for her family's life of con and she is back and ready to set them on the straight and narrow. She doesn't know who she can trust, but she is determined to end the grift.

Picture this: Oceans 8 but with a hot body guard who is fiercely loyal to only you and your entire con artist family is seemingly out to kill you. Jillian Moorewood, daughter of heiress and con-artist and the only sensible Moorewood. When things went south, Jillian went to prison for her family with the ultimatum that while she was in they would go legit. Well Jillians out, and not only are they not law-abiding citizens, they are neck deep in their next job. Killing her for the inheritance. Enter hot body guard, loving but criminal great aunt and undercover allies. Jillian kicks the cons to the curb and sees if maybe the hot body guard would be willing to, be more? A fun, flirty fast paced read for anyone who loves a heist and a strong heroine. The love story was sweet, steamy and swoony and I ate it up.

Such a DELICIOUS book! Loved every page! I loved how smart Jillian was and how human. These people were her family and try as she might, she just had to treat them as such even though they had no problem treating her as a burden. I loved the bit of romance she found, but it was one of the many sidelines, not the main story! The cast of characters was great and the twists and turns so much fun! This was my first Dimon and it won't be my last.

The feel of Moorewood Family Rules is perfectly modern romance, but the story is much more than the romance. It's more about the family and all of the quirky characters and the crazy hijinks. I quite enjoyed this story; I gobbled it up in record time. I look forward to the next one!

This one is going to be really fun to recommend. Think "Knives Out" - style plot, pacing and crazy cast of characters. Although not truly a mystery, I think it will attract readers who like offbeat mysteries as well. On page one, Jillian lands on the grounds of her family's oceanside estate in a helicopter. She's just been released from three years in prison and wants to send the message that she's back and in charge. She comes from a family of con artists and grifters. She went to prison rather than turn them all in, but she's had enough. She wants the family to go legitimate. It's a tall ask for her relatives, who know no other way of life. She may have the determination to succeed, helped by a handsome new bodyguard who provides some romantic relief. Great story that readers who are looking for something light and fun will enjoy.

This was so much fun!! This is a perfect beach read for most patrons, and has a great quick paste with solid characters. Highly recommend for collections with strong contemporary romance or mystery reading populations that wants a change of pace or book with crossover appeal

Lots of snappy, fast-paced dialogue and dark humor in this story about a con-family. It almost read more like a short story or a play in its pacing and style. Jillian and Beck's romance is closed door and not the focus of the story; their chemistry strongest during their banter and blunt, humorous conversations. This was a fun, quirky read.
