I really enjoyed my time reading this manga. It was super light, fun and funny to read. The only issue I found is that it was very repetitive. Kiichiro is super clumsy who would fall over and/or would break something making a mess, and Miss Kishi is there to clean it up. *next chapter* Kiichiro is super clumsy who would fall over and/or would break something making a mess, and Miss Kishi is there to clean it up.

I am interested in picking up the next volume just to see where it will go and if it will continue to be repetitive.

Ok, guys full admittance this was the first time I forgot to download a book before it expired so lesson learned. But hey mistakes like that are what the library is for and thankfully one of my libraries got the book in today so now I will read it and give you guys my review. Remember do as I say not as I do. Stay on top of your arcs.

So the first thing that drew me to this book was its cover. Just look at that beautiful shade of blue. Also, maids, maid stories are fun and can always be a wild card. Also, the art is wonderful. That is always a point of notice in a heavily visual medium, I do like the art in this.

So this story starts out very funny. It is funny in a way I haven't really seen many other series jump on so it gets points for originality. There are a couple of layers to the comedy here and all of them blend together really nicely. The visual comedy especially, while not the focus of many scenes is just so good.

The characters are all also very entertaining. The MC specifically is a hoot and the driving force of the humor. I can’t remember the last time I got to see two characters who play everything so straight interact constantly and it is so good.

Also intriguing, there at the end. Is that a bit of intrigue sprinkled in there? I think it was.

As a point for the hardcore manga people, I will note that there was a perfect opportunity for a panty shot and it was not taken so per your own prerogative you can decide if that is a point for or against the story.

Overall it was a very fun story and I am glad I got to read it. I would definitely recommend you guys check it out.

It little predictable, but great start of the new series.

My Maid Miss Kishi was fun, but a little repetitive. I’m sure there are some kids that would enjoy it.

Behind every powerful person is a helper capable of handling their mistakes. However, it takes someone of great patience and virtue to take care of one who is a complete and utter klutz. Kiichiro Hayase, Japan’s most powerful man, may look like a company savior, but what he owns in the business-savvy sense is what he lacks at simple people skills. It’s a good thing he’s got himself one heck of a helper, in the form of the maid Miss Kishi.

My Maid, Miss Kishi follows the daily lives of Hayase and Kishi, as he takes on the world while she cleans up after him. Despite his suave ways, Hayase can’t even walk a straight line without falling butt-first into a nearby vase. As such, Miss Kishi must do her best to make sure Hayase is as presentable as possible. But because of his guilt for making her work more for him, Hayase seeks to find the right ways to make Miss Kishi smile.

The highlight of Kano Kashiwagi’s manga is the amount of times Hayase makes a mess out of himself. Watching as a suave debonair constantly spills files, rips his clothes, and jumps headfirst into a pile of trash surprisingly doesn’t get tiresome. Having Miss Kishi work hard to make Hayase look the least likely to be a complete whoopsie-doodle adds more to the humor of it all, as a cool and composed maid forced to clean up after humorous screwups adds to the punchline.

Sadly, as storytelling goes, My Maid, Miss Kishi tends to miss the mark. It’s obvious that Kashiwagi is trying to make a pairing out of Hayase and Miss Kishi. Most times it would work, but here there doesn’t seem to be enough chemistry between the two to spark something remotely romantic. And yet, these chapters attempt to push the two together, with almost every occasion it tries somehow demonstrating that Hayase and Miss Kishi shouldn’t be a couple.

It’s when the manga breaks away from trying to be romantic when it starts to feel like an entertaining read. A night preparing party attire showcases just how awful Hayase is with putting on clothes. Miss Kishi’s daily routine is put on display while Hayase horribly hides from her, much to her enjoyment. Other people also get into Hayase messes, as his secretary Miss Matsuura sings him lullabies and forcibly grabs him from a grave cockroach threat.

When My Maid, Miss Kishi focuses on being funny, it can be a laugh-out-loud affair. But when it tries to go for the heart, it misses and instead pierces the nerve that lets you go to the bathroom freely. My advice to Kashiwagi is to keep the humor coming, and leave any element of romance aside. Otherwise, My Maid, Miss Kishi might just fall face-first into a nearby fountain, leaving the audience drenched and feeling slightly cold.

Usually I'm not a fan of maid manga, but My Maid, Miss Kishi is somewhat different. Kiichiro Hayase is an eligible man with wealth and he's single too, but the guy is actually a walking glitch himself. Everything he touches basically explodes and his way of thinking is weird too. He has maids to help him, but Miss Kishi is surely the best. The woman can do anything and doesn't even move a face muscle while doing it. Because of this Kiichiro doesn't know if Kishi is happy and enjoys work, since he can't read her at all. No one can. In a sense this is great and how Kishi doesn't give in to Kiichiro's affection and whatnot. She lives a humble and small life, which is great. The problem is that this is the single joke we have and building a story around it is hard. This first volume keeps using the same elements all over again, which gets tiring fast.

The art looks humor manga like and works that way without being too detailed or anything. The comedy element is already in the art, so it gives extra boost to the story. I hope Kashiwagi broadens the story, since this is six books long, so it kind of needs more to it to stay interesting. Otherwise this is an OK series for those who like the setting.

Was a great story, seemed like the master was in love with his maid but then the story presents a photo of them together when they was younger.. I'll have to wait for vol. 2 now.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and Kodansha Comics for providing me with an ARC copy.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A different take on the whole "young master/maid" relationship. Instead of heavily focusing on a romance, the story focuses more on the clumsy master, the maid that takes care of him and knows him best and the master's worries that his maid will leave because of him overworking her, causing her too much worry and that she never smiles. So the main focus the entire book is the young Master Kiichiro trying to not cause so much work/worry for for Miss Kishi all while trying to find ways to make her smile.

The art is beautiful and the storyline okay, not a total favorite but still interesting.

It's a funny-goofy story about a wealthy but clumsy guy and his perfect but stoic maid, miss Kishi. It's a little tropy, but fortunately we avoid of the fan service and obvious fetichisation of the genra. Miss Kishi is cute in a cold way and her boss is an adorable stupid man too dense to understand he is in love with the girl. I really liked the story, who give little hints of the story between those two, it's refreshing and fluffy.

My Maid, Miss Kishi, Volume 1 by Kano Kashiwagi is a charming manga volume about a hard-working and quiet maid who excels at her job, and her rich and handsome boss who's practically perfect in every way...except that he's super clumsy.

This is a delightful story about a young boss who just wants to make his maid happy since she's always helping him out of his scrapes (due to his clumsiness). The art was fantastic and the characters were pleasant, quirky, and humorous. This manga was a breath of fresh air, and I hope to read more soon!

Miss Kishi is a maid for a very clumsy master, Hayase Kiichiro. Kiichiro has not seen her smile and he does several things in hopes to make her happy. Throughout volume one, he does several things to either make her happy or make it so she wouldn't want to quit (although it's him just thinking she might quit because of the trouble he causes her).

They are both adorable especially when Kiichiro is trying to do his best for her, even though it ends up causing more of a mess for Miss Kishi.Personally, it seems like Miss Kishi would stay by his side no matter what and it seems they have known each other since childhood.

I so wanted to love this one!

Master Kiichiro is a billionaire that is very clumsy. He has a team of maids to help take care of him and his household, but the maid that truly helps him the most is Miss Kishi. He is worried she's going to leave him because he works her too hard and she never smiles.

This manga is well drawn and quite humorous. Lots of sweet and funny scenes that really focus on Master Kiichiro. I struggled for a few reasons. First this seemed to start abruptly to me. I guess I wanted a touch more background to start? As it went on I also just got kind of bored. I wanted more from Miss Kishi. It felt a bit repetitive to me. I'm sure that will come in later volumes but this one just didn't grab me like I wanted it to. This one isn't very high on my list of series to continue with.

Steam: none (barest breath of possible tension starting)

This is a slice-of-life manga. I was hoping it wouldn't be. The ending was a little unexpected. I wonder what that maid meant by that line?

Even if the plot, or the lack thereof, isn't really my thing, the drawings are very nice. There's too many title pages in this though.

This first volume was cute, but average. For me, it came down to the types of comedy that could be had with our practically perfect in every way protagonist. He has all of one flaw so far, and it's being clumsy, of all things! This means the dynamic between the two gets pretty predictable. Then again, this is only the first volume. And Miss Kishi herself is interesting in that stoic character just trying to do her job kind of way. The art is also very nice to look at. While I personally hope the series adds a bit more to its offerings, it does a good enough job with what its got.

ARC Copy...I though it was quirky and to see a very handsome, rich but totally clumsy guy playing out the narrative opposite one lower class but obviously classy and professionally, serious competent maid.

First want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this in exchange for an honest review. Wow, what a cute and funny read. Honestly enjoyed the two and I am glad to see a rich man not a total asshole. He is trying and caring and I can't wait to see more of these two!

First off, how cute is this cover! Secondly, how cute is Kiichiro and Miss Kishi together? Known as the hottest bachelor, Kiichiro has the front of a wealthy, well-accomplished man. However, he’s a total klutz when it comes to his maid who seems to do everything for him.

This manga was so sweet and hilarious, bringing me to laughter and smiles many times as I read it. Kiichiro really is the source of this. His way of thinking and how he tried so hard to make Miss Kishi smile was adorable. I can’t wait for more!

This manga was so fun, sweet and endearing. I really enjoyed this manga, it was quick and easy to read, the art style was also very pleasing. I definitely recommend this manga if you just want something light and fun!
I´ll definitely be reading the sequel!

The artwork is very pretty, and the storyline is actually not bad. It somehow reminds me of Hayate No Gotoku—in reverse. The only downside is that the story got repetitive over time, though I truly enjoyed the glimpse of Miss Kishi’s actual personality throughout the book.

Thank you Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read and review this.

This is a humorous story, following the life of clumsy Kiichiro Hayase. While he is able to accomplish almost everything, things generally tends to end with him being clumsy. Then there his is maid, Miss Kishi, who is very stoic (to us as readers and to Kiichiro). Kiichiro makes it his mission to make Kishi smile.

The story is very cute and hilarious, and I would really like to see the relationship develop more, and see the characters grow. As this is just the first volume, it is too early for me to make a judgment about how the story will go, but I do look forward to seeing what happens next.
