Thank you to the publisher and author for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
So I’ll be honest this book was a little hard for me to get into. But once I committed to it, I actually got really into it.
*spoilers ahead!!*
I definitely knew quickly that Scott was cheating. That was so obvious and I’m surprised she didn’t notice it sooner in her second go around of December. But other than that, a lot of the book was not an obvious surprise to me and I didn’t know where it would go. It kept me captivated, I loved the ending and the couples that got together. Very cute holiday book,

Meh. I didn’t enjoy this one, unfortunately. A lot of details were left off-page, so I did not like that. It was also super predictable so this wasn’t a good fit for me. K appreciate the opportunity to read and review!

To be honest I struggled to read this book on my kindle. The way it was on my kindle was each sentence was not continuing on the same line. It was like you were starting a new paragraph when you weren’t. I’m not sure if that’s how it was on everyone else’s but that’s how it was on my mine and it made it difficult to read. If I could show a picture I would but I can’t

I struggled a lot with this book, the story didn't impress me and it was quite boring. I also struggled to like the main character. Zoey was unrelatable and unlikeable. I got to be honest that I ended up skiming a lot of this book because I just couldn't stand it. So dissapointed because I thought it had so much potential.

In The Christmas Cupid we follow Zoey, who isn't having the best December. Her boyfriend just broke up with her, she’s had an extremely dodgy haircut that even the biggest woolly hat can’t hide, and then a tragic accident – involving an elf outfit, stilts, and a red double-decker bus labelled ‘The Santa Express’ – leaves her dead..
But then Zoey is given a second chance at life. Sent back to the start of December, if she can match six couples by Christmas Eve her life will be saved. Which gives her the perfect opportunity to win her boyfriend back too…
Can Zoey find love in time for Christmas?
I had some trouble getting myself to pick this one up, I had actually planned to pick it up in November, to read and review it before its releases, but I just couldn't. Luckily I finally picked it up, even though it was a month later than planned. The fantasy element in this book was very unexpected (maybe because I didn't fully reads the synopsis before? I just wanted a cute Christmas romance), but it was enjoyable and didn't overrule the book at all. Maybe a bit literally a second chance romance for our main character?
This is one of my first Christmas reads, and I really enjoyed this one, mostly since it isn't all rainbow and sunshine (or, in this case, snow and a Christmas tree?).
Zoey was a likable character, even though she was a bit naïve at times, which definitely made me roll my eyes more than once.
The other characters where also quite enjoyable and likable, and some definitely got a lot of personalities, which was a pleasant surprise, since that doesn't really happen a lot in romance books. This was the main reason why this book will be a memorable Christmas read for me!
The writing was very enjoyable and it was a book that surprised me from time to time. Will definitely recommend this one to anyone who needs a Christmas book to read!
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an eARC.

The Christmas Cupid is the type of Christmas book that I know instantly to not take too seriously. I actually think this was the first one I’ve read that includes magic/supernatural vibes. It wasn’t magical beyond Zoey seeing the ghost of her grandmother and the watch keeping track of the matches, so it didn’t cross the line of ridiculous too often.
I actually would have loved for this to be inspired by A Christmas Carol. Seeing how different her past, present and future would be without Scott would have been really fun. That wasn’t the case though.
Instead, you got to read about her pining for a no-good man who treats her horribly. The absolute naivety of Zoey sometimes was uncomfortable to read. I don’t want a character who thinks taking a load of crap from their partner and not mentioning it in fear of them breaking up with them is a good thing. It really isn’t fun to read.
What was fun though, was the Christmas market and events they attend. I liked how each event was Christmas themed and it really made the book quite festive.
It’s actually quite a shame that the cover gives away so much of the story, I’m not including this as a spoiler because it’s obvious from the get-go. The couple on the front does include Zoey, but that’s not her boyfriend, he doesn’t even have the right skin tone. I won’t lie, I didn’t pick up on it at first, but once you get around halfway through The Christmas Cupid, it’s obvious where it is going.
There seemed to be a little too much filler in the middle and the end was definitely rushed. I get that festive romances are completely over the top, but I always find it quite difficult to look past the ‘I’m instantly in love with you’ trope.
The Christmas Cupid was a decent, festive-filled read. It’s the perfect book for those who want a bit of Christmas injected into their December with a quick read. Don’t go into this expecting the best book ever though, take it with a pinch of salt. The premise is a bit ridiculous and the characters are often very dumb. You do kind of like them though.

I’m afraid I did not enjoy this one, the writing felt quite clichéd and the storyline didn’t grab me from the outset
Thank you for the chance to read

This was a cute holiday romance. It had a great storyline. I love the Groundhog Day feel. Essentially Zoey is feeling down and out and goes to work only to be hit by a bus. Once she awakes she learns she is tasked to find couples to set up or risk never dying again for good this time. She is desperate to get the task completed. While going through the task we see her essentially ignore her feelings for a self absorbed jerk. Her boyfriend Scott is the worst. I literally hated hearing her bend over backwards for this jerk. Honestly this aspect really turned me off while reading the book. I like my MC to have more self worth and not be a doormat.
Overall it’s a cute story. I loved Milo and the other characters. It’s funny and a cute read.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review.

I adore the premise of this book - it was unique and different!
Our MC, Zoey, gets hit by a bus on Christmas Eve and is brought back as a “Christmas cupid” she has to match 6 couples in order to change the future and not get hit.
I loved this premise, it was fun to watch her try to match her friends and even random people on the bus or during her work. I loved the bickering between Zoey and her friends.
I couldn’t stand her obsession with Scott and the “perfect girlfriend points.” I wish less time was devoted to that because it was an extremely toxic situation and it wasn’t necessary to spend so much time detailing their interactions. The growth Zoey goes through regarding her relationship with Scott by true end was superb, but it took too long to get there in my opinion.
I wanted more of MILO. I was screaming at zoey throughout the entire book - YOUR 6TH COUPLE IS YOU HOMIE.
It was a fun, sweet read I would definitely recommend.
Thank you Netgalley & the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was another great addition to my holiday reading list! This fun romantic comedy takes place in London and is all about second chances after the main character Zoey is hit by a bus on Christmas eve. She is killed but is told she has a chance to start the month over and if she can match 6 couples with true love within the month of December she will survive the accident and live happily. This book was fun and festive with lots of great characters and truly was an enjoyable Christmas read! Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the arc in return for an honest review

Once I started this book, I honestly couldn't put it down. I loved watching the characters fall in love, friendships blossom, the aspect of Christmas alongside this. It was just a beautiful read. Throughout the entire book though, I felt like I was screaming at Zoey for being so oblivious, and how she deserved so much better.
I will be posting a review of this on my bookstagram, over at @blondesbooknook if you're interested in reading more reviews!!
Massive thanks to NetGalley for the early release of this book.

How can a book be so cute yet so infuriating at the same time? The premise was cute, the setting was cute, the secondary characters were cute. But the main female character? Absolutely infuriatingly clueless. It was one of those scenarios where you were yelling “how is someone this dumb” while having knowing the book wouldn’t exist if they were even 1% more clues into their world.
I was able to grab this on audio and the narrator was very easy to listen to and still made it an okay listen despite some character frustrations.
This is a clean romance.

Zoey Beake has just been dumped a few days before Christmas, so her mind is all over the place as she heads into her job on Christmas Eve, working at a toy store during the craziest time of year. while at work, she has a tragic accident that leaves her dead. but in the spirit of Christmas, she is given a second chance at life, on one condition: she must match 6 couples by Christmas Eve.
immediately, Zoey is transported back to the first of December, where she finds herself reliving the days leading up to Christmas. while her matchmaking challenge is daunting, it gives her the chance to see where her relationship went wrong, in the hopes of simultaneously mending her own love story while finding love for others.
I really enjoyed the premise of this story, and I thought the writing was funny & relatable. what i didn’t love was how weak and naive Zoey was painted out to be. I know the point of this story was for Zoey to get a chance to see her life & relationship in a new perspective, but it went a little too far in my opinion. she truly lacked any awareness, and seemed incredibly oblivious and defensive in regard to her relationship for almost the entirety of the book.
it was very obvious who was going to be matched with whom in the story; that being said, it was sweet to see certain characters go through different realizations all pertaining to their self-worth. for as naive as the main character was, her banter made me laugh & I found some of her thoughts and random asides to be completely relatable. she also made me crave sweets THE WHOLE STORY. this girl ate so many cakes, and drank so many hot chocolates…it was almost borderline concerning 😂
while it wasn’t a perfect Christmas read for me, I could 100% see this being a hallmark movie (and I would 110% watch it, bc what’s a hallmark movie if it isn’t corny, predictable, & a little infuriating w/ its naivety at times?) ((but let’s work on not dumbing down the main character so much, eh?))
thanks to @netgalley for my copy of this book!

Loved this read! Perfect for some light reading to get you feeling festive. Reminded me slightly of the Shopaholic Series, fun and easy

I tried so hard to love this one but it fell short for me. The premise is top notch - the idea of getting a second chance and bringing holiday magic to others is perfect for the season. However, the main character Zoey was so grating to me and I just was so annoyed by her and her actions, especially around the gigantic a-hole that is her boyfriend Scott.

Fun Groundhog Day style book which made it stand out from the crowd.
This was a fun story about a girl who is in a TERRIBLE relationship and then suffers the ultimate tragedy when she is hit by a bus on Christmas Eve. She has a chance to relive the previous month whilst playing Christmas Cupid to six unsuspecting couples.
Whilst undertaking the task, she has the opportunity to evaluate her own relationship and find out what’s really important.
This was fun and light, perfect escapism when you’ve got too much to do this Christmas!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Oh gosh. I tried to like this book, but I just couldn't. I ended up skiming a lot of it because it was rather boring. Also, the main character and her actions weren't my cup of tea. In all honestly, had this not been an arc I likely would have DNFed it.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me access to this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you HQ Digital and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.
This book brings so much of the holiday spirit with it. The main character works in a shop that has a Santa area. It gives a little bit of Elf vibes. Without any of the elves accusing Santa of not being real. However, Zoey has been having an awful December. Her boyfriend has broken up with her, she got a terrible hair cut and she has been hit by a Santa Express. Which then leads to a possible second chance at life. Where her Grandmother (who has passed away) tells her that she needs to set up 6 couples before this time next time. She has been sent back to the beginning of December to have a do over. Will Zoey be able to set the 6 couples up or will she suffer the same fate as last time?
This book for me was a great Christmas book. I felt like it got me in the holiday spirit. There are certain times of the year where I enjoy reading books that take place in the same time of year as I am currently in. This book does the trick in that regard. However, I did feel like the main character fell flat for me. I felt like there were so many obvious chances for her to realize that her boyfriend was not a great guy. It got so frustrating. Overall, I found the writing average. I mostly read it because I was in the holiday spirit and I felt like this book gave me enough of that to satisfy my need for a holiday read. I did enjoy a lot of the secondary characters. I enjoyed hearing about their lives. However I wish that think book gave us more information about the people that she was able to get together. I was just so curious did they last? How was their first date? Did it work out?

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC of The Christmas Cupid by Jennifer Joyce. Cute, rom-com, Christmas stories are my favorite… and this one didn’t disappoint! So many Christmas feels/activities and references helped me get into the spirit. I loved the Groundhog Day, second chance at life theme in this book.
The main character gets a second chance at life/love after being ran over by the Christmas Tram and a visit from her Gran who had passed on years ago. The only stipulation? She has to match 6 true love pairs before her accident is supposed to occur.
This book was witty, charming, and provoked deep thinking throughout. I would highly recommend this Holiday read! Thank you again for this ARC!

This was a quirky Christmas story in which Zoey, who was recently dumped by her boyfriend just before Christmas, ends up getting hit by the Holiday Express and dying from a head trauma. At this instance, she is given a second chance on the condition that she set up 6 love matches by Christmas Eve. She accepts without thinking it through and wakes on December 1st with the ability to change her destiny. At first, she is set on finding the matches while trying to keep her boyfriend but eventually realizes that she was not happy in that relationship either. In the process, she finds the 5 love matches and her own and gets her new chance at life. It was an interesting read but it didn't make it to the top of my list unfortunately.
