I absolutely loved this audiobook! I think I liked the book better, but the audiobook was really good too!

While I'm not a fan of the insta-lust storyline when these two meet, it is clear their connection goes way beyond the physical. Evie is drawn to Beckett's slower way of life, the way he cares for the people, animals and nature around him. Beckett is drawn to Evie's vivacity, her spirit, the way she finds beauty in every day things and interacts with everyone she meets with kindness. I love a good grumpy sunshine story and this story delivered. There's so much depth to both of these characters. Beckett was such a delight to read about and I loved his sweet cinnamon roll of a character. He cares about his loved ones so much and the way he looks out for his family would melt anyone's heart. Not to mention the way he cares for the stray kittens he takes care of or the tiny duckling he finds all alone. *sighs* He was so sweet and tender with the way he cares for those he loves and he is the same with Evie.
I appreciated reading Evie's journey to find herself, slow life down a bit and take time to figure out what she wants outside of what is expected from her for the trajectory of her social media career. It was so sweet to read about her return to Beckett's small town and the way she savored small town life, soaking up the community of people and embracing the more natural, present way of living. Finding her "happy" every day was so so sweet and heartwarming to read about throughout the book. I love how she and Beckett would talk about finding their "happy" at the end of the day.
A solid four stars from me. I will definitely be checking out this author's backlist and keep an eye on future book releases so I can check them out. Many thanks to Netgalley for an advanced audiobook copy of this story, all thoughts are my own. I thoroughly enjoyed the narration and appreciated the accessibility of this story while I was on the go.

In the Weeds by B.K. Borison
I see what all the hype is about! This book is fantastic. I was hooked from the beginning and rooting for Evelyn and Beckett to end up together. All.the.heart.eyes.
The writing flowed well, the storyline was well thought out. I hate the miscommunication trope but it worked so perfectly here that it didn’t bother me.
Borison takes us on quite the journey to get to that happily ever after but it’s so satisfying when it finally happens.
The audiobook was perfection. The voices fit so well and I loved hearing the dialog. Beckett’s social anxiety was very relatable and I think the audio helped with that.
Thank you dreamscape media for the complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Content: open door romance-steamy, explicit language

This was a decent read. A bit spicier than I would have picked normally. But the storyline was good. I would have picked this otherwise.

Book Review:
“But that’s the thing about happiness, I guess. You can show whatever you want to the world and not feel a lick of it inside yourself.”
How do you put emotional damage into a book? Well, I think @authorbkborison figured it out with this one, in the most beautiful of ways. There were several points where I could feel my heart constricting with happiness, sadness, joy, and heartbreak along with Evie and Beckett.
I felt so deeply the pondering and feelings of being lost in your life and choices and feeling the need to blow it all up and try again in search of happiness right along with Evie as she was struggling to find her happy.
If you are looking for some steamy scenes paired with some slow-burn build up, and some moments between that will make your heart clench, I highly recommend checking this one out, I know I will be reading the other two in this series as soon as I can find the time!
“It’s okay to want different things,” she says. “People change. You’re allowed to change. Doing less doesn’t make you less.”

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the advanced version of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review :)
In terms of the audiobook, the voice actors were perfect! The net galley platform made the audio a bit layered and there was a slight echo which made for a bit of distraction but nothing to deter me away. The story was so cute and something different about this book from others is that It really focused on the ambiance. There was a huge emphasis on the cozy feels, perfect for the holiday season ( thinking fall or Christmas vibes)!
Also such a beautiful cover!
4/5 stars, would recommend!

Lovelight Farms was one of my favorite reads last year so I was so excited to get a chance to listen to the audio book of In The Weeds. Unfortunately, this one fell flat for me.
We first meet Evelyn St. James and Beckett Porter in Lovelight Farms where we learn that they met up at a bar in Maine, and had one wild weekend together that neither of them can forget. Evelyn shows back up in LF as a social media influencer judging a contest that Stella and the farm have entered and the tension between Evelyn and Beckett is palpable. After leaving Inglewild and returning to her busy life, Evelyn decides she needs a break to "find her happy" and she realizes that the last place she was truly happy was on Lovelight Farms so she takes a break from her life and heads back to Inglewild to figure out what she truly wants out of life. In The Weeds is Evelyn's journey to find herself and how the tattooed farmer who rescues cats plays into her happiness.
Beckett to me was the highlight of this book. His kindness and vulnerability was heart warming. He was gentle when he needed to be despite being generally rough around the edges. I loved seeing the various sides of Beckett from his love of animals to his sound sensitivity to his relationship with his family.
I had a harder time connecting with Evelyn. Off the bat I wasn't a fan of Evelyn's desire to just abandon her life, go off the grid, and leave her job, in order to "chase her happy." Maybe it was just my personal experiences influencing my take on her but it seemed like such a privileged position to be in that she never acknowledged. In a town where people are working for their livelihoods, Stella is on a quest for happy while leaving behind her job, home and bills. I also didn't find her generally likeable. She wasn't unlikeable, but she read kind of flat as a character for me. It was hard for me to really get invested in her story.
Overall I felt the story got better as I was listening but the timelines jump around at the beginning of the book without any indication to an audio book listener what is happening so I was lost and so confused by the time jumps. That is probably better for the written page than it was for an audio book listener. I also was not a fan of the fact that Beckett and Evelyn aren't even on the page together for a good chunk of the beginning of the book which made it really hard to get invested in the story.
I listened to the audio which is narrated by Pippa Jayne and Dane Anderson. Dane had the perfect voice for Beckett and read the story with such emotion that I was sucked in when he was reading. While I felt Pippa's voice maybe wasn't the best choice for Evelyn, she is without a doubt a skilled narrator and reads with emotion and emphasis that brings so much to the story.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the advanced listening copy. All opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley and B.K. Borison for the audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review!
I have to admit, I mostly picked this book for the cover art, it’s so beautiful! I was expecting a light summer read with some spice mixed in and was pleasantly surprised by this one.
When I requested the ARC I didn’t realize this was part of a series, but the book definitely works as a standalone. I’ll likely read the first because I liked the idea of the series following each owner of the farm and enjoyed reading about the quicky members of the town. In The Weeds follows Beckett and Evie’s story, with the prologue catching the reader up on what happened in the first book in the Lovelight series. Beckett is one of the partners of Lovelight Farm but is distracted by a weekend fling with Evie, who turns out to be social media influencer that is feeling disconnected from her work and returns to Lovelight Farm to “find her happy”.
Initially I struggled to get into this audiobook – I found the narrators a little distracting. It seemed a little over-acted so I spent too much time thinking about them instead of actually paying attention to the story. I didn’t love that despite there being a male and female narrator, each one changed their voice to be deeper or higher when reading the parts of Evie or Beckett in their chapters. About a quarter of the way through the book though, I did get used to it and was able to really enjoy the story. My only other issue with the audiobook was that it was often hard to tell when the character was speaking versus thinking. Obviously, this wouldn’t have been an issue when reading a physical copy, but I had to rewind a couple of parts to make sure I clearly understood what happened in the scene.
I really fell in love with these characters and this story. It was fairly predictable throughout and I would have loved for a bit more conflict, but it’s impossible not to root for Evie and Beckett. I also loved the neuro-divergent aspects of the character building and felt that they were well-rounded characters. Overall a great summer read and I recommend it!

This has been on my TBR for a hot minute so I was so excited to receive an audiobook of it! I totally didn’t realize this was a series and I need to go back and read the first one. But it’s safe to say you can read this book without reading book One. They follow different couples.
Beckett and Evie are adorable and polar opposites, yet they work. I loved their chemistry and their individual characters.
Didn’t love the miscommunication but the grand gesture made up for it. I highly recommend!

This is definitely a feel good read. I love the cover, the characters, the small town setting, the dialogue. Pretty much everything. However...the chemistry between Evie and Beckett didn't feel as smooth or as real to me. I don't really know how to explain it. It felt somewhat clunky. Regardless, I love the Lovelight books and am anxiously awaiting Book #3. And the narrators did a fine job with it.
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an audio copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love Lovelight Farms! After enjoying the first book, I was happy to see that a second in the series was released.
Here’s what you can expect from In the Weeds:
• Small town living
• Forced proximity
• Grumpy x Sunshine
• Dual POV
• 2nd chance romance
• Farmer that has tattoos, a gaggle of kittens, and can’t say no to adding a duckling into the mix
• Opposites attract
The book started off spicy with a recap from the first book, then cooled off, and ultimately got a little steamy again. I loved the idea of Evie and Beckett but felt as though Evie continued to run from just about anything that would’ve been good for her. I did find myself thinking that he just needed to move on.
Overall, this book was a solid 3.5 stars for me! I thought it was a cute book and would recommend it to those that enjoy a sweeter romance.
**thank you to Netgalley, and Dreamscape Media for an audio copy in exchange for my honest review**

I'm rounding up as I would give this 3.5 stars.
There is a lot to love about this book! If you enjoy:
-small town vibes
-a farmer
-second chance romance
-grumpy/sunshine
-A man with kittens
-A man who can't say no to a baby duck
-A man with tattoos
-Hot and broody but still a little awkward type
Then you will absolutely adore Beckett! And the town phone tree, aka gossip line, had me laughing out loud! Evelyn and Beckett end up being sweet together as this mega social media influencer realizes that slowing down in a farm town is exactly what she needed.
The prologue was pretty long, about 30 minutes. I normally listen to books between 1.5-1.75x speed, but this was one I needed to slow down during the prologue in order to keep up with the timeline changes. Once chapter one began though, it was straightforward for the rest of the book.
I didn't really love Evelyn as a character. She describes herself as one not to shy away from her problems, but that seems to be exactly what she did multiple times. And some of these problems could have been avoided with a simple conversation, which is what lead to the half star rating.
This small town is adorable though, and I'm definitely looking forward to Layla and Caleb's story!

Did I find my happy today?
I did. In this book and in this series.
To say I am completely obsessed with Lovelight Farms is probably an understatement. The first book completely swept me off my feet - and this book kept that adorable, engaging, and heartwarming feel of the first. I did not except to love anyone as much as I did Stella & Luca, but wow did Evie and Beckett come awfully close.
Beckett himself is just ... perfection. He is the epitome of grumpy teddy bear and getting his POV - getting to hear his thoughts - just makes the story so much more wonderful. He's such a gem of a person and even when I wanted to hate him (see: 3rd act breakup), I could still respect where he was coming from and why he thought he was doing what was best for Evie. (I'm literally never a fan of someone else making those kinds of decisions, but Beckett just had me melting all over the place as I watched him struggle through this part of the book!)
The miscommunication trope was a bummer because there's few things I hate more, but the writing and the story and the characters were just so perfect, I still couldn't bring myself to dislike the use of this trope.
Other tropes I loved:
2nd Chance? ✔️
Forced Proximity? ✔️
Grumpy Sunshine? ✔️
Dual POV? ✔️
It's really hard for sequels to meet my expectations when the first book of a series is so spectacular, but In the Weeds was genuinely a fantastic follow-up to Lovelight Farms. I am *so* excited for Mixed Signals - I cannot wait to get more time with this world that BK has made for us!

Fabulous!! I really liked the narrators and the story overall. It was a great sequel in the Lovelight series!

I am so happy I read IN THE WEEDS. I previously read and fell in love with LOVELIGHT FARMS. This book didn't disappoint either. It starts off steamy and you immediately fall for Evie and Beckett' and their connection. B..K Borison paints such a vivid image of Inglewild and Lovelight farms. If only I could visit and stay in the cozy town. Additionally, Beckett may be one of my favorite book boyfriends. The beautiful cover matches the delightful book inside. I highly recommend IN THE WEEDS and can't wait for the next two books in the LOVELIGHT SERIES to be released.

4.5 Stars!
So it is unusual for me to not read romance book series in order even if they can be standalone books because I like to know the characters and their back story but when this audio came up to review, I couldn't resist. I am 100% going to read all the books in this series because I loved this one so much!
Beckett and Evie were so cute together and I loved that this was a grumpy/sunshine love story (one of my favorites). I like when a character realizes that they are worth love and the process of that realization, like with Beckett in this story. I also loved the general theme around finding your happiness because I feel like everyone could use a little bit of that.
The audio was really well done and I liked the narrators a lot! I can't wait to continue on in this series!

Even better the second time around! I'm so happy that the Lovelight Farms series got audiobook deals!! The narration by Pippa Jayne and Dane Anderson was excellent and I happily returned for another shot at these characters while I wait for book 3! Much thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!! These books have a special place in my heart and I can't recommend them enough!!

Enjoyed my first dive into the world of Lovelight. It was entertaining to read how these very complex characters with big hearts so ready to be loved attempt to take advantage of their chance to tackle their differences and mesh their every day life with their explosive night life. Their struggles with compatibility are realistic, relatable and heartfelt. Back pedaling isn't easy, good thing they have a great circle of support to help and encourage them. Delightful and engrossing. Narrators did a good job with enunciation and inflection.

Evelyn and Beckett have a memorable two-night stand, and a few months later she finds herself on an assignment in his hometown. They are drawn to each other again and spend most of the book straddling the will-they-won't-they line.
This book just didn't do much for me. I never really got invested in the characters and finished the book still feeling indifferent. Readers who enjoy sex-first-emotions-later stories, anything dealing with social media influencer culture, and surly farmers with adorable kittens may feel differently.
I also felt like there was a disconnect between the way the characters were written and the narrators' voices. I would have cast this book differently.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for providing an advance copy of this audiobook for me to review.

In the Weeds is an adorable follow up to Lovelight Farms. I love the community of people in this series and think that I don't remember from book to book, but sank right into it. Evie is a burned out influencer looking to find what makes her happy. She returns to Lovelight Farms and Inglewood to do it.
With no plans, she arrives with no where to stay and ends up in her former fling Beckett's house. Their forced proximity and learning about and with each other to be happy and true to themselves, things heat up and it's just so good.
I loved the cats and the duck and the farm. I loved Beckett and Evie's adventures and how she tries a little bit of all things to find herself in them. I loved them coming together and finding happy in each other.
