Another really cute book in this series. I already had soft feelings for this town and it's residents from Lovelight Farms, so I was very willing to go back and reconnect with some of the characters. This book has all the cozy feels you could want as nature eases into spring. Wonderfully written characters with more insight than you'd expect from this type of fiction. You'll find your happy in this sweet story and be ready to head into book 3 so you can soak up some more of these people and their small town charm.
Many thanks to #NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this ARC audio which was also well narrated!

This audiobook is a great choice for someone wanting a cozy romance to listen to.
I enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of this book’s setting at Lovelight Farms, and thought the two main characters were sweet together.
The narration by Pippa Jayne and Dane Anderson was nice, and I thought Jayne’s voice was especially soothing to listen to.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

In the Weeds by B.K. Borison
I am seriously unwell after reading In the Weeds—book 2 in the Lovelight Farms series. 🥹 I am fairly confident that Evie and Beckett are one of my favorite couples now 💕
This book made me feel a wide range of emotions. I laughed, smiled, and cried. Borison is such a beautiful writer, and there were so many quotes throughout the book that I wanted to write down for later. I loved the dual narrators in the audiobook, and they fit really well together—it made the story even better!!
I cannot wait to start Book 3 soon! This is now one of my favorite rom com series 😍
Thank you @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for the #gifted audiobook!

I am about 20% and the story isn’t picking up much. I will be writing a full review on my Bookstagram and will update link. For right now this book is a DNF but some have encouraged me to get past 50% and I will like the ending.

I much preferred this audio to the other and I enjoyed that there were two perspectives. However the MMC presented as someone with Asd and when I asked the author she said it was just Spd but he just seemed soooo socially awkward and unaware, more in line with autism. I did not believe any of the chemistry was there at all for this love story. It was just such a different vibe from Lovelight.

I am late to the party but I am finally here. For the last 12 months I'd been subjected to a good deal of Lovelight series gushing, lots of IYKYKs. But that's the issue! I did not know what these people were talking about and I was curious. What about the tree shaped car fresheners? What's the deal with strawberries and shortbread cookies? See I was willing to give into the hype and pay for the damn KU but my unread books would never forgive me because I know I'd be reading solely indie romances. Imagine my surprise when the author announced the audiobooks. I enjoy romance novels. I enjoy them even more in audio format.
First of all, BK Borison writes about dreamy men. Both Luka (cinnamon roll hero) and Beckett (hot grumpy farmer) are selfless men, devoted to their families. One cooks mean Italian dishes, the other is a reluctant pet parent. I should also give credit to the ladies Stella and Evelyn: Stella for working hard for her dream and Evelyn for not giving up on her search for "her happy"
Second, she writes about this small charming town Inglewild and all its residents so lovingly.
Third, her writing is very vivid but soft and cozy and comforting at the same time.
If you are a romance reader and not living under the rock you'd know about the following but here is a quick recap: While Lovelight Farms is a slow burn best friends to lovers, fake dating holiday romance; In the Weeds is one night stand, second chance, grumpy sunshine. The latter is a dual POV.
Both were easy reads that made me smile and swoon but my favorite between the two is In The Weeds. I was able to feel the chemistry between Beck and Evie more. Also I may have liked Beckett more.
Now the negatives: In both books, 3rd act break-up/fight felt unnecessary or rather I didn't like the reasons behind the conflicts.
Audiobook narrators were good but if I had to critique their performance I'd say the female narrator sounded overly emotional.
I am looking forward to reading Layla and Caleb's book Mixed Signals. Bring in all the baking Layla, I am ready

“I don’t know what we’re doing, how long it’ll last, when she’ll leave again. But I’ll take all her pieces while I have her.”
💭Thoughts:
I loved this book so much! I think listening to it just added a little something extra too. The narrator was spot on for Bennett! His voice was swoon worthy!
It’s the second book in the Lovelight Farm series, but could be read as a stand alone. Though I highly recommend reading the first book too!
Evie and Bennett make the cutest couple and I was rooting for them the whole time. Lots of miscommunications had me yelling at them to get it together. I loved how their relationship progression went.
I can’t wait to read the third book in the series! These chapters make me happy! ❤️
Also, where can I get a Luca and Bennett on the farm calendar?! I’d admire that all year round! 🥵

I want to start by saying this is not a romance series where you can jump around. If you haven't read book one, Lovelight Farms, you will be incredibly lost during the first 20% of this book. As it was, I had a hard time keeping up for the first book and I finished book one and then immediately started this.
There were moments where I really enjoyed this novel. I felt like the characters were a little more fleshed out than they were in book one and I was glad for that.
This book did have trouble holding my attention though. The author jumps around so much that I had a hard time keeping track of things, especially in the beginning. And I think, with the rough start, I just never found myself invested like I wanted to be.
I think there will be readers that love this series, so far they just missed the mark for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio version of this book. All is of my own opinions. I am not compensated in any way for my review.
This was a sweet sequel. It follows the farm hand and his one night stand. I love how it goes into details of his life and his love of animals. I enjoyed that even though this is a follow up book it can be read as a stand alone.

I am back with a review of book 2 of the Lovelight series. This COULD be read as a standalone but you NEED to read book 1 (Lovelight Farms) as I absolutely adored it and it will set up things nicely for this book.
In the Weeds follows farmhand Beckett and social media star Evelyn. After a one night stand at a conference, the two are more then surprised to run into each other at the Inglewood Christmas tree farm. Regardless of how hard they try, neither can get the other out of their mind and they're not sure they really want to. Evelyn is on a quest to find her happy and realizes, rather quickly, that maybe her happy looks different than she originally thought. And maybe Beckett and town of Inglewood are at the center of it.
I loved this dual POV romance! It was filled with funny banter, sweet moments, and lovable characters. I highly recommend the audio version and I can't wait to start book 3!
In the Weeds was released in April but the audio version will be released TODAY and if it's not already on your tbr, it should be!

Special thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for sharing an arc with me in exchange for my honest opinions.

I enjoyed this audiobook. The female narrator was fantastic. It took me a bit of time to get used to the male narrator. He was a little too monotone for me.
I think Lovelight Farms is still my favorite of the two books.
Rating 3.75/5

This is the follow up to Lovelight Farms which I loved, and I think this was just as good.
This is a second chance romance between two opposites. This is also a book about finding yourself and finding happiness.
The heroine feels lost in the beginning of the book so she goes back to the last place she was happy. She's also a well known social media influencer. The hero is a grumpy farmer whose also a kitten dad. These two hooked up before the book begins but we get little snippets of their time together (which helped build up their romance). I felt the second chance romance worked well since they both couldn't get the other out of their heads (or hearts). It was super sweet and I loved how Beckett went about courting Evelyn.
This book also had a ton of humor. There were so many laugh out loud moments.
The narrator did a good job too. I liked how they told the story.
Overall very entertaining and enjoyable. Would recommend to any romance reader.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, Lovelight Farms, and the second book didn’t disappoint. I do get annoyed by couples whose issues could be resolved with one simple conversation, so parts of this book frustrated me, but overall it was a sweet story. Both narrators were good, though the female narrator was overly dramatic at some parts.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

In the Weeds is a cute small town romance that I really enjoyed for the most part. Great characters, lovely setting, and just the right amount of steam. However, there was one negative that dropped this novel down a star for me, and that was the miscommunication trope at the end. Grrrr! I rolled my eyes so hard! It’s my biggest pet peeve in romance novels. I’m sorry, but I absolutely despise when authors use it. It’s so overdone, unrealistic, and generally poorly executed. I was disappointed because I adore this author’s writing style so much, and her debut, Lovelight Farms was a winner for me. With that said, I’ll still give her latest, Mixed Signals a try because I can’t wait to read Layla’s story. In the Weeds gets 3.5/5 stars from me!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The story of a young farm owner trying to be successful and a social media sweetheart wanting to find “her happy”. The characters are likeable making the reader care for them and want the best for them. One can easily imagine the setting and want to be there with them. It is easy to imagine this as a Hallmark movie however the spicy 🌶️ parts might need to be toned down. The narration is good however the male character almost sounded computerized. Overall I would recommend this book.

This sounded like a really cute book but I just didn't vibe with it. I couldn't get into it, and set it aside a couple times before I decided to DNF. I think it is probably still a good book, just not for me. I might try to read it again in the future, but for now I just love the cover art

The Lovelight series has a new fan and I’m telling all my friends about it. This book is small town with a twist. I loved Beckett and Evelyn’s second chance romance even though I usually hate miscommunication issues. Such a cozy, fall read.

My review -
Another completely swoony Lovelight novel from BK Borison, and I’m going to have a very hard time picking between these two for which is my favorite! I read 1&2 back-to-back, and completely devoured them both. Such special stories, and both so completely different in every way, but these characters, and Lovelight, are just incredible! I love her writing, the chemistry between all of the characters and these three special friends (Beckett, Layla and Stella).
We met Evelyn in the first book when she came to check out the Christmas tree farm for the social media contest that Stella entered, and learned that she and Beckett had previously… met. The interactions they had during that visit were very awkward, but neither forgot the first time they spent together. In the Weeds picks up not long afterwards when Evelyn needs a bit of a social media break, and determines that heading to Inglewild and visit Lovelight Farms (and perhaps Beckett) is just what the doctor ordered.
This book feels so much more real-life and goes through so many real emotions and feels a lot more like reality and true relationship tests than a lot of them out there. It was very stramy! The length and pacing was excellent. All of the characters and their interactions and relationships (including all of the side characters) were perfect.
The narrators - Pippa Jayne was new to me in book one, and she did just as excellent of a job this time! I’m a definite new fan. Dane Anderson is also brand new to me. At first I thought his voice was too deep for how I imagined Beckett during the first book, but I quickly adjusted and only a couple chapters in, fell for his voice and by the end was really loving him!
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, and this is my honest feedback.

What a cozy book to read while visiting a small town!
Evelyn is a social media influencer who has lost her happiness trotting around the globe. The last place she had it was Lovelight Farms, so she heads there to see Beckett.
The setting is so cute for the second book in this series, and I like there was differentiation between this and the last set of characters. I did think some parts were a little stereotypical for their roles. The miscommunication trope was a little predictable. Overall still a cute cozy read.
Thanks to @netgalley for this audiobook!

In the weeds by b. K. Borison release September 2022. In the weeds is an excellent romance audiobook to listen to when you think life situations can not work out. Evie is an internet influencer and Beckett is small town farmer. Can she find her happy with him. Can he let her go when she needs to. This is a book that will put a smile on your face. And sometimes a tear in your heart. The narrators are excellent in this book
