Firstly- this is a catch up, apologies for such a delayed review - it's been sat in my 'to review' stack for way too long!!

Now this is what you call a crime thriller, I absolutely love this series and it just keeps getting better with each installment.

Agent Nikki Hunt recieves a call, on Christmas Eve, to attend a scene where a young girls body has been found, under ice, by an ice fisherman at a frozen lake.

The body is identified as a missing local teen, 17 year old Kesha Williams who disappeared from a shopping centre/mall on Black Friday while shopping with her boyfriend. Soon after another body is found in the woods, which leads to more victims of varying ages. Its apparent that there is a serial killer in their jurisdiction and Nikki won't stop until they are found.

It's obvious to Nikki and her team that the killer has to be local, they know the area too well tomorrow be. But can Nikki find them before another person is taken?

With her partner Rory taking up the reins of caring for her daughter Lacey until she goes away to her grandparents for the Christmas break, Nikki can give it her all to catch this crazed killer.

With no pattern to the killings and the fact they have obviously been around a long time, Nikki has her work cut out. I love the digging into the mind games Nikki has to do and it's portrayal is amazing.

As always with this series, the fast pace had me gripped from the very beginning and didn't let up. The storyline was full of twists and turns and even though I had guessed the 'whodunnit' it didn't take anything away from the ending.

Huge thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

With each book, Stacy Green gives us more and more of Nikki Hunt, and I'm enthralled. It's always thrilling, interesting, captivating and that's why this is one of my favorite series to read.

Book 6 in the Nikki Hunt series. Nikki receives a phone call on Christmas Day informing her that the body of a missing seventeen year old Kesha Williams was found in the frozen lake. Kesha’s boyfriend was a prime suspect in her disappearance but when Nikki and her team discover a burial site with multiple bodies that fit the profile but the oldest goes back a couple decades it becomes very clear the boyfriend is innocent and this is the work of a serial killer.
Another great addition to the series! It is always nice to come back to this world, see how the characters are doing. The pacing is always so fast with short chapters and it just makes you fly through the book even faster. The plot was interesting and kept me engaged with the story. I did figure out who did it so that that was a bit of a bummer, I wish it was more unpredictable, but still this was a very good book.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WOW... loved this one. Thank you bookoture for the ARC. What I love about Netgalley is over the last 2 years I have expanded my reading with new authors I never would have picked up before.

Point in case the Nikki Hunt series. Yes it is another crime and serial killer series, but if you love this kind of stuff jump on board, some twisted storyline with great background arc developing over the course of the books. Give it a try. I highly recommend.

This is the sixth book in the series featuring Special Agent Nikki Hunt and it certainly didn’t disappoint, it can be read as a stand-alone but references are made to previous books so I recommend you read the full series. Nikki is all set to celebrate Christmas with Rory, her boyfriend and Lacey her daughter as it is the first Christmas together since the murder of Tyler, Nikki’s ex husband and father of Lacey. She receives a telephone call to say that the body of a young girl has been found in a nearby icy forest lake. Nikki soon realises that it is the body of the missing seventeen year old girl Keisha Williams but she has had her hands and feet chopped off. Nikki has always felt an involvement with the case as Keisha was abducted from the shopping mall where Lacey had been targeted the previous year. The police seem convinced that Keisha’s boyfriend was responsible but Nikki and Keisha’s parents are not convinced. When a burial site is found with multiple bodies Nikki and the team realise that they have a serial killer on the loose. Can they identify the victims and the killer or will he find Nikki first? This is another book full of suspense, with greattwists that had me totally gripped. I can’t wait for more!
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

The book starts out with a murder scene. Kesha’s body has been found in an icy lake. This is not the ending that anybody would have wished for after days of searching for Kesha. Nikki and her team are on the scene and have an immediate suspect. However, this turns out not to be the open and shut case that they were hoping for.

This was a complex case from the start. The officers were even more puzzled when an old burial site was discovered. Naturally, I had so many questions and couldn’t wait to see Nikki put all the pieces of the puzzle together.

The middle of the story slowed down for me and for the first time, I started struggling to remain interested in the case. I think the narrative was bogged out by criminal profiling details. I understand what the author was trying to do but it was a little too much for me.

The reveal and the end were good and the story wrapped up nicely. I couldn’t have guessed the identity of the unsub and the motives. In the end, this was still quite a good read despite the chapters that I found to be too slow. I look forward to Nikki’s next case.

HER FROZEN HEART is the sixth book in the Nikki Hunt series, a gripping crime thriller set in Stillwater, Minnesota by best-selling author Stacy Green. This is my review of The Trapped Ones.

The books in the Nikki Hunt Series include:
The Girls in The Snow (Book 1)
One Perfect Grave (Book 2)
Lost Angels (Book 3)
The Girl in The Ground (Book 4)
The Trapped Ones (Book 5)
Her Frozen Heart (Book 6)

While this book can be read as a standalone, as the author does a great job in supplying background information, I would recommend you read the series in order to get a better appreciation of the growth of the characters. It is such a great series, so sit back and enjoy!

As a recap from book 5, (FBI Special Agent and criminal profiler Nikki Hunt heads up the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) that deals with crimes in the jurisdictions of Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Tyler, Nikki’s ex-husband had been murdered at the hands of a serial killer Nikki had been chasing. Tyler’s parents had decided to sue for custody of their 6-year-old daughter, Lacey, as Nikki’s job was too dangerous and provided limited time with her daughter. Nikki still owned her house in St Paul, but with her boyfriend Rory at her side, Nikki and her daughter spent most of their time in Stillwater, with Rory’s family.)

When Special Agent Nikki Hunt receives a call on Christmas Day, of a seventeen-year-old missing teenager Kesha Williams who has at last been found… her body floating in an icy forest lake, miles from her hometown.

Kesha disappeared from the mall where Nikki’s own little girl was targeted the year before, and it brings back chilling memories.

Local police are convinced it was Kesha’s boyfriend who was spotted disappearing from security cameras that day at the shopping mall, but Nikki isn’t so sure. When a second teenage body is found Nikki knows she is on the hunt for a possible serial killer.

Then the team find another grave on the shore – a second teenage girl, her body covered in a beach towel. Now on the hunt for a serial killer, Nikki knows that she must solve this case fast to avoid additional deaths.

Her Frozen Heart is a fast-paced crime thriller with a strong protagonist and engaging characters. Lots of twists and turns with a satisfying conclusion. Great series that will appeal to a wide audience. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to the author, Bookouture and Net Galley for my digital copy.

I absolutely loved Nikki and her team. I thought the book was engaging with explaining all the details that are wrapped in the cases. I liked that the story at least have the killer look into his past and shared information with the readers. I liked that Nikki is the female lead character in the book. She’s intelligent. She’s pretty tough and pretty much out think her toughest opponent. The book moves at a easy speed. I would have liked for it to pick up on some action here and there in the book.

Her Frozen Heart is the 6th book in the Nikki Hunt series.

.There are several plot developments from earlier books that play a significant role in the main characters' current lives having said this the author shares enough detail to enable the reader to follow and pick up the thread.

A thrilling, gruesome, detailed read that had me gripped right from the start.

Another fab edition to an engrossing series.

This is such a great series but I recommend reading them in order so that you get the characters' back story. Nikki and her family are adorable and there are so many lovable characters. As usual with Stacy’s books, I had no idea who the bad guy was and was so shocked by the reveal, although it made total sense when you looked back. I was hooked until the end and look forward to more from this series.
