I will skip the blurb recap that happens in so many reviews. We’re at book six so we all know the background by this point. I really enjoyed most of this installment, largely because Rory was never a suspect at any point and the issue of taking care of Lacey was dealt with by sending her off to Florida on vacation with her grandparents. It has been a very weird combination in previous books of her being suspicious of Rory while at the same time having him and his parents be her child’s main caregiver when she’s in the heat of an investigation. So, I was in a good mood with this book until we got to the reveal at the end. I should have seen it coming, and told myself a couple of times that it surely wasn’t going to go in that direction, but it did. I haven’t read any of the other reviews to see how others felt but, for me, the landing was very weak.
Thanks to Bookoutre and NetGalley for this advance copy for review.
Yet another spectacular read from Ms. Green!
Nikki Hunt is finally content. She has Rory, her boyfriend, and her precious daughter and Christmas is here. One phone call shatters the holiday when She is called to a body found in a frozen lake. That one body soon turns into finding the burial ground of a serial killer. The list of bodies connected to missing people keeps getting bigger while the clues keep becoming more confusing. I just cannot stop reading these books!!!!
A game of cat and mouse this killer is playing and he or she just may catch FBI profiler, Nikki Hunt, in the trap. Nikki is working with all the knowledge and help that she can to stop a serial killer from killing again. Will she be able to in time or before she could be caught in a life-threatening situation?
I enjoyed this book I love a book you have to figure out the perp and yes I did but it was still exciting to see if I was correct. Yes, I recommend this read I like the characters and that is important to want to know more about the family dynamic and history. I will go and get the previous books that were referenced ( you can read this stand-alone) because I enjoyed this one so much and want to know all that happened in previous stories.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher's bookouture for this read this is my personal opinion if you like mystery, serial killer, and FBI books this one is a must.
Nikki Hunt is at it again tracking down a serial killer in their small town when the body of a missing teen is found on a frozen lake by a fisherman. There are lots of leads, but the twist at the end...I did not see that coming. As always, I love the characters that Stacy Green has created. Reading a book with them is like coming back home to the people you know. There were a couple of items I did not feel were tied completely up, but it still did not distract me from the goodness of the book. I just wanted to see Nikki put the hurt on the other officer....lol.!
Thank you to NetGalley, Stacey Green and Bookouture for allowing me to read this in advance of the publication.
This is #6 in the Nikki Hunt Series
17-year-old Kesha goes missing from the Mall of America on Black Friday. Her body is discovered floating beneath the ice of a frozen lake on Christmas Eve. Nikki is called in and when she sees the body, Kesha's hands and feet have been cut off. While searching the area, cadaver dogs pick up on a mass grave. The pathologist and an anthropologist are called in to recover the bodies and from there Nikki and team have to learn if this grave is connected to Kesha. When another person is reported missing with no connection to Kesha, everyone is left to wonder if it is the work of the same killer. The victimology is all over the place: gender, race age. It makes it hard for the FBI to piece together.
I suspected who the killer was right before he was revealed. The only thing I found a bit disappointing was that the "why" these victims were chosen was not answered, and I would have like just a little more closure. But overall, I liked this book. It was another great installment in the series. Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Stacy Green.
What a great book! A man innocently catches a dead body while ice fishing. It's the body of missing 17 yo Keisha. On Christmas Eve. With bare bones staff, the investigation leads to a burial ground.
Another young man is missing - but are the cases connected?
The suspense in this one had me grinding molars.
I love the inclusion of therapy and working on personal relationships. Great job with realistic situations!
Nonstop suspense grabs you and doesn't let go till the last page. The case puts Nikki to the test without Liam by her side. I read it in one sitting. I was completely hooked and invested. I also loved Rory and his family in this one. These characters have come a long way. Another great read!
I raced through this book in just over a day, the story once again had me hooked!
While I had a feeling who the seial killer was I didn't know what twists and turns the story may take and had those moments where you want to yell at the Nikki to watch out!!
Stacy uses the epilogue to do the final warp up and it had some nice warm and fuzzy moments that left you with a smile on the face, however, later, I realized that I had unanswered questions running through my head. While they caught the killer, some of the details were revealed, there were questions that came up while they were investigating that you don't hear a reason for.
Overall, I enjoyed escaping into this book.
I was so excited when I saw this book was available. Once again, Stacy Green has written an awesome thriller.
Agent Nikki Hunt and her extended team are notified of a missing teen. When her body is discovered, things once assumed about the teen's disappearance become uncertain. Soon the body count has risen, and another person is missing. As always, it is a race against the clock to save the latest victim. But will he be the last?
I love the characters in the series, old and new. They each have their own personalities and their interactions seem so natural. This plot is interesting, and flows seamlessly from scene to scene. I literally couldn't put this down once I started. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Five stars all the way ,this was just want I wanted, and need since it's all most fall. It was fast pace from the very started and had the reminiscence of my all time favorite TV show Criminal Minds. Plus I was so into the story that I qwas completely shocked when the killer was revealed , and while the descriptions of the killings was gruesome, the author did amazing job bring them to life and making you feel like you was right there when the discovery was made .
what can I say except another brilliant read in the Nikki Hunt series . I have loved every one and this was no different , when an ice pole fisherman makes a gruesome discovery under the ice Nikki and her team are called in , Liam is still recovering so is still desk bound so its mainly down to Nikki to investigate , with the help of an outside advisor she soon realises that this is the work of a prolific serial killer . It's a brilliant , fast paced read as usual with a thrilling climax . 5 stars as usual
What a welcome return to Nikki Hunt & Stillwater. I really like the way Stacy Green has built a family around Nikki, from both her work life & her personal life, and I like seeing how they support each other. I found this instalment to be a fast paced & engrossing read - I found it very hard to put down. The twists in the story had me shocked & horrified as each was revealed. I also never guessed the villain - I never had anyone in mind - so the end of the book was a page turning shock! If you like Criminal Minds, I think that you will enjoy this series. I can’t wait to see what the next instalment has in store for Nikki!
Omg this was absolutely amazing a day made a few hrs at the airport and a flight entirely worth it! I had no idea this was such an awesome series and can't wait to go back and the rest. The characters are so well written and well rounded. I loved how it's just impossible to tell who is really to blame and so many people just come across as shifty and so draw your eye to suspect them, but they're actually just horrid people.... but nor murdered horrid lol. I got so much pleasure out of this and I am in love with the main character and can't wait to read about the rest of her journey. It's an absolute winner and you won't be disappointed. A must read
Her Frozen Heart is the latest installment in the Nikki Hunt series and it delivers!
Well written, great characters and an interesting plot
Agent Hunt receives a call on Christmas from the Sheriff to assist when a body is found. The 6th installment of the Nikki Hunt series is a page turning, edge of your seat ride from start to finish. Nikki Hunt has become one of my favorite characters. Mystery/thriller lovers will love this series!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kesha Williams goes missing at The Mall of America and her body is found in a frozen lake.
Nikki Hunt is called away from Christmas with her family to investigate her death.
This is the sixth book in this great series.
Has a great surprise twist ending!
Many thanks NetGalley, Bookouture and Stacy Green for the opportunity to read this book. 😁
As per usual my braincells were working overtime, trying to figure out who the culprit was. There are characters where you immediately think: yes, they are not very kosher, but they are not a killer, in my opinion. Others though are perfectly respectable and are not on your radar at all. Sometimes there is someone you don’t feel comfortable with from the moment you virtually clap eyes on them.
I pointed my finger on someone and happy dance, I won the jackpot. I am curious to find out whether you had the same inkling.
I have loved the 5 previous books starring Agent Hunt and I loved this one too. I cannot wait to find out where Nikki’s next case will take her. 5 stars
Thank you
A good addition to the series’s. Would recommend if you are looking for a quick mystery series as this series progresses nicely.
Her Frozen Heart, book six in the brilliant Agent Nikki Hunt series returns readers to Stillwater, Minnesota. Where Nikki, her boyfriend, Rory and daughter Lacey are preparing to celebrate their first Christmas as a family unit and since the murder of Nikki's ex-husband Tyler by the serial Killer Frost.
But just as the trio are preparing to head to Rory's parents' home Nikki is called into action when the body of a missing teen is discovered in the frozen Big Marine Lake.
But the discovery opens a can of worms with different counties investigating the original disappearance and accusations of racial bias.
And when a burial site is found nearby with multiple bodies discovered Sheriff Miller, Nikki and her colleague Liam whose own health isn't 100% thanks to the last case they worked and the rest of their team realise they have a serial killer on the loose.
So, Nikki knows they have to act fast, especially with the media and families demanding answers and some local police accusing the FBI of not caring.
And with a fast-paced storyline, so much detail, and plenty of twists. This was a gripping read. That led to a breathtaking confrontation between Nikki and the killer and it's one I would happily recommend to others.
Excellent! This is one of those series that keeps getting better with each one as the characters evolve. Book 6 in the Nikki Hunt series is a fast-paced, keep you guessing until the end, must read!
Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for yet again another fantastic book.
