Sadly i was disappointment by this book. I just couldn’t get into it. I really wanted to. I love a good holiday take, but this one just miss the mark.
Thank you @netgalley and @bookouture for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. This book is out and available NOW.
Ok y’all know I am picky with romance books…especially contemporary romances. I cannot stand instant love, enemies to lovers, unrealistic romantic plots, etc. Basically, I don’t want a Hallmark movie in my holiday rom com book.
…with all of that being said, I present to you this five star, witty, friends to lovers, charming Christmas book: HOLIDAY ROMANCE.
HOLIDAY ROMANCE was SO enjoyable. Molly and Andrew are attempting to travel from Chicago to Ireland for Christmas (something they’ve done for the last ten years) when their plane is cancelled due to a snowstorm. They’re determined to get to Ireland for the holidays (snow storm be damned!!) so they devise a
crazy travel plan that includes trains, taxis, ferries and even a flight to Argentina. Throughout their long journey, they realize there might be more to their friendship than they previously believed.
I highly recommend reading this book! Maybe this is a weird comparison, but it’s almost like the millennial rom com version of Planes Trains and Automobiles. It was seriously such a fun read!
Such a fun feel good holiday book! I loved the characters and the story! This would make an amazing show or movie!
Personally I couldn’t love this book but I’m still giving a good review cause I think other people will!🥰
♡ Flashback chapters
♡ Friends to lovers
♡ Christmas!!!
I absolutely loved this one. Christmas romances just make me so happy. All I kept thinking while reading this that this would make the perfect holiday movie. I loved how it had a past and present timeline. And now I need to go to Ireland.
Catherine Walsh does it again! This was such a fun, fast and addictive holiday read. I loved the plot line of the flights and the atmosphere was dit so perfectly with the holiday vibes. If you’re looking for a heartwarming holiday read this has to go to the top of your list.
This was my first time reading a book by Catherine Walsh. I will add her to the list of authors I enjoy.
Molly and Andrew for 10 years have taken the same flight from Chicago to Ireland for Christmas.
This year there is a horrible storm and trying to get home is difficult but Molly vows to get Andrew home for the holidays.
The book goes back in forth between previous years and the current.
I enjoyed this story and the characters.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Going in I didn't know what to expect from this book but to say I was surprised is an understatement. This book captured me and wrapped me up in its dialogue, characters, world was like no other. A simple holiday romance, as they say, turned into something more. Molly & Andrew's will they won't they energy kept me hooked from the beginning and had me all swept up by the end. Friends to Lovers of dreams and the perfect cosy Sunday read.
Edit: I've just finished a second read, and it just felt like being wrapped me up in one of Andrew's christmassy jumpers reading it again in the build up to the season. The hints of home sprinkled throughout make it even more joyous, if you've ever travelled home for Christmas you will feel all the feels reading this sweet funny romcom.
This was an absolute BANGER. Catherine Walsh has created an absolute JOY of a Rom-Com, that made me weep with joy, gave me all the tingles, laughs and Holiday feels. The characters? Chef's Kiss. The Setting? Chef's Kiss. The Romance? CHEF'S KISS! Absolutely loved loved loved this!
Molly and Andrew share plane rides home to Ireland at Christmas over a 10 year period. We go back and forth between the current trip and the previous trips.
I loved the slow burn romance and the importance of family theme of this book.
This was a surprisingly fun read. I like the multiple timelines. The humor was right on point too. Could have used a little steam but all in all was a fun w gaging holiday read.
For the last 10 years, Molly & Andrew have been on the same flight home to Ireland for Christmas. This year, a Chicago storm has their plane grounded. Andrew is a BIG fan of Christmas, and although it's never been that important to Molly, Andrew IS important to Molly. She decides on the spot that she WILL get Andrew home for Christmas. What follows is a crazy trip by plane, train, and ferry to get them home in time for Christmas.
I really enjoyed Walsh's book, "The Rebound," but this one just didn't hit the mark for me. At 60% of the book, they had shared a few kisses, but nothing overly romantic or swoon-worthy. I just needed a little more swoon along the way.
What a cute holiday romance!! The story is about two people who become friends after numerous times of being on the same flight home for Christmas together. The friendship has built up over the years and the readers are taken through some of the previous flights while the main focus is on the 10th flight together. I thought this was a cute idea for the plot and was a new twist on the holiday romance. I think this is a perfect read for over the holidays. Would be great to pick up to read on your flight home!
Love Love LOVED this Holiday Romance!! I loved the short flashback scenes, the slow burn, the romance, the little bit of spice. I loved how Molly and Andrew's relationship started and developed over the 10 years as flight friends! And when they met each others families...I wanted to be a part of the families!
⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
• fun holiday romance spanning time
• great characters
• funny and different
Romance tropes are here, but they're done in a refreshing way. Add this one to your holiday TBR!
🗣️ Thank you to @netgalley and @bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book via gifted eARC! All opinions are honest and my own.
I absolutely loved this book.
I devoured this book slowly as it was the perfect read.
The way the story goes from past to present flowed so well and I absolutely loved the journey between Molly and Andrew. Not the biggest fan of friends to lovers however this was just perfection.
Let me tell you I have never been like this is my book boyfriend but when I tell you I want a boyfriend like Andrew... I want an Andrew. His speech to Molly at the end of the book made me so happy and giddy and I swear only women can write men like this.
Absolute smashing read. Perfect for Christmas... might be my fave book this year!
This is definitely a case of Bookstagram made me read it. I saw lots of positive reviews of this and decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did.
Molly and Andrew are both Irish and live in Chicago. They've been flying home together for ten years. He loves Christmas and is always eager to go home. Molly goes because she feels like she should- bit because her family are big Christmas celebrators. This year there a huge storm that cancels many flights. Andrew is heartbroken and Mollys determined to get him home.
The chapters alternate from present to past Christmas travel trips. And we get to see the evolution of their relationship. It was like a ten year slow burn romance. I loved Molly and Andrew and their increasing awareness of each other. I also loved the crazy trip they took to get home. This was a lot of fun to read- perfect for the season!
This romance was perfection!!
I love everything about it. This is one of the best friend-to-lovers books I have read. And that is saying a lot!
Would I change anything from the storyline?
NOPE, nothing, nada, zilch.
So what is this fabulous romance about?
Molly and Andrew meet on a plane flying home back to Ireland but they already know each other.
Lucas is dating Molly's friend and he is excited to have her as his next seat passenger. Molly is mortified because she knows her best friend wants to break up with him. She is avoiding talking to him about her when her friend texts him and breaks up with Andrew. An awkward situation can't even begin to explain it! Then, the year after, they meet again on the flight before Christmas. Soon after, it becomes their yearly ritual to fly back to Ireland together.
A decade has passed and on their tenth flight, the chocolate and the first-class tickets are ready when a storm cancels their trip. Mollie knows how important is for Andrew to spend Christmas with his family. Molly will do anything to get him back home and to see her twin pregnant sister before she delivers.
I loved this book so much!! Both characters felt real to me, the same with their ordeal. Who's flight has not been canceled around the holidays due to a storm? I'm raising my hand real high here.
I also fell in love with Andrew's family and Molly's twin sister. I wish they could get their own books. It will be so worth it.
Cliffhanger: No
5/5 Fangs

This was absolutely adorable! I loved every minute of it. Read it in a flash.
It's got everything you could hope for, and everything a good rom-com Christmassy book should have.
Friends to lovers, cute, hilarious banter... It's heart-warming with a hint of spicy towards the end.
But it also doesn't leave out family, or Christmas dinner out of the equation.
It's not overly dramatic or overly corny, which I was afraid of. I was worried that the one misunderstanding that happened would be over the top, but it wasn't. I loved, loved, loved it.
I will definitely recommend this to all my friends who want to hear me, in fact, I already recommended it to my bestie halfway through.
Unfortunately, this really wasn't my thing. The friendship, romance, and basically everything in this book stuck out as odd and uncomfortable to me.
I get that MANY reviewers have loved it and found it cozy, uplifting, and perfect. So I guess you could like it, but I really didn't *_*
I received a complementary copy of this book from the publishers. All opinions are purely mine
