Six Feet Deep Dish is my second cozy mystery of the year. It absolutely delivered all the warm and cozy vibes and of course it had the best food recipes. Not only we meet a very feisty and independent protagonist, we follow her journey in opening her beloved Italian restaurant.

Delilah O'Leary will finally be able to make her dream come of opening her gourmet deep dish pizzeria in Geneva Bay, Wisconsin a resort town with a history of mobsters hideaway, millionaire's to go place and overall vacation destination. On opening night however, her fiance decides to breakup with her and on top of that she finds the lifeless body of her aunts caretaker by her feet. It seems all her troubles are just beginning, and she meets the very handsome detective Calvin Capone. Delilah immediately feels some attraction but she decides to become an amateur sleuth and solve this case.

Loved all the twists and turns the story took and it was fun trying to decipher who the killer was. It also had some super hilarious moments and it was refreshing to know Delilah was described as a curvy woman who is very determined to achieve her goals. Of course we also fall in love with Delilah's big and fluffy orange cat named Butterball.

This first cozy mystery in a delicious new series had me craving pizza and all things garlicky and sauced! This audiobook was a mysterious and often funny companion and distraction over the past two days, listening as I completed household tasks. If you enjoy a good small town whodunnit, add this to your queue!

This is a fun, new cozy mystery series with plenty of surprises and a very large ginger cat named Butterball. Delilah is opening a deep dish pizza restaurant and on the night of the soft opening, her aunt's caretaker is murdered. Delilah assumes the role of amateur sleuth and annoys the police in charge.

I enjoyed the relationships between the restaurant workers and especially Rabbit, Delilah’s new hire. There were some good twists that surprised me and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Thank you to TLC Book Tours for the audio copy to review.

I'm highly type A, I love checklists, being organized, completing tasks, passion projects, etc, so I usually admire a FMC that is the same, but with Delilah I kept thinking CALM TF DOWN, GIRL!

There was nothing that set it apart for me and I hate typing this, but In all honesty, I don't really remember much about this one.

I do want pizza now, though.

Twist my arm to order pizza for a Bookstagram photo! Although ordering deep dish pizza in NYC is impossible! 🍕

I listened to the wonderful new series by @minty_fresh_books called the Deep Dish Mysteries. The first book is called Six Feet of Deep Dish and stars Delilah O’Leary as she opens a new Chicago style deep dish gourmet pizzeria in Geneva Bay, Wisconsin. It’s a vacation area known for mobsters, million dollar second homes and now good pizza! Just as the restaurant is opening, Delilah gets into a fight with her wealthy fiancé and he calls off their engagement and takes off. He leaves her with Butterball, the amazing chubby kitty featured on the cover of the book.

Delilah finds a dead body after the grand opening of her pizzeria and all fingers point to her great Aunt Biz. Delilah must help solve the mystery to clear her aunt’s name and get back to her goal- making delicious pizza!

This is a true classic cozy mystery and I loved the pizza twist. I DARE you read this book and not crave pizza! I also loved Butterball, he steals a lot of the scenes. There are a lot of good characters. I loved Detective Capone; he’s the grandson of the famous gangster. I also loved Sonya, Delilah’s best friend.

I thought the audiobook was really well done!

This story really kept me guessing and trying to figure out the ins and outs of the murder mystery. I loved Delilah. She was a great strong woman character. And...I need a Butterball. Lol Highly recommend if you love a good mystery!

In short: Delilah is opening her new gourmet deep-dish pizzeria in Geneva Bay, Wisconsin—a charming resort town with a long history as a mobsters’ hideaway, millionaires’ playground, and vacation mecca. Just before opening night her fiancé dumps her & she discovers a dead body with her elderly aunt holding the murder weapon.

What I liked:
🍕The setting! From the town to the restaurant & amazing food descriptions.
🍕Delilah - she is loyal, smart, independent and quite the go getter.
🍕Detective Capone. He brought balance and a lot of family history to the book. I can’t wait to see if something more develops between him & Delilah.
🐈Butterball the cat.
🍕Lots of red herrings and an end I didn’t see coming.
🎧The audiobook - I listened to the majority of this on audio. The narrator had great pacing & made the characters come to life!

Final thoughts: I loved this book and it’s an excellent start to a new series!

Cozy mysteries are my go to comfort reads and books slump busters. I had hit a bit of a lull in my reading life and was excited to receive an advanced listening copy of Six Feet Deep Pizza. Thank you TLC Book Tours and Orange Sky audios for having me on this book tour.

I quite enjoyed this first book in the deep dish series. It was fun getting to know Delilah, her new restaurant and her family/ friends /coworkers. They’re all a little quirky and add charm to the story. I also appreciated the threading in a real world issue and look forward to seeing how her interactions with police detective capital Calvin capital Capone develops.

The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life and keeping the story flowing. I will be certainly picking up future books in the series and of course listening to them!

Delilah (Dee) O’Leary’s dreams about running a successful deep dish pizza restaurant are put on hold when her aunts caregiver, Josh, is found murdered just outside the restaurant doors on their first night open. Coupled with her failing love life with the bankrolling fiancé, Dee has a lot to sort out.

This cozy mystery falls somewhere in the middle for me. While the cast of characters hit every diversity box, they were written more as stereotypes. I also struggled with the constant reference to Dee’s size. Her weight didn’t affect the plot line and felt out of place.

The overall mystery was good, because it had depth and layers to the who did it and why. With that said, Dee stumbled onto most of the investigating versus her actually trying to investigate which is the direction I thought the author was taking.

This is the first in a new series and I'll likely read the next book that comes out. 3.5 stars rounded up.

I really loved the recipe at the end.

I received a complimentary advance listener copy of SIX FEET DEEP DISH by Mindy Quigley as part of a TLC Book Tours scheduled tour. Thank you to the author, OrangeSky Audio, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!

SIX FEET DEEP DISH is a cozy mystery set in Geneva Bay, Wisconsin. Delilah is a chef opening a new gourmet deep-dish pizza restaurant with her fiancé providing much of the start up funding. It is a dream come true for Delilah, but on the night of their soft opening, things go horribly awry. Delilah finds a dead body not far from the restaurant with her very own elderly aunt holding the murder weapon.

The opening is on hold until the murder can be solved by none other than a direct descendant of Al Capone. On top of all of this, a split with her fiancé has her wondering what this means from the restaurant. While Calvin Capone appears to be on the case, Delilah needs to step in to help things along so that she can get her restaurant and her future back on track.

Did I use this book as an excuse to order some deep dish pizza? Yes, I most certainly did! And let me tell you, it was a very good idea because this book will absolutely leave you craving some good cheesy pizza! It was such a fun read, especially as I am someone who really likes a good foodie book! I thought this one did a good job of balancing the colorful characters, the food descriptions, and the mystery. The setting in an environment that has been known to have ties to the mob and the way the characters play off of that added to the intrigue as well!

This really was a fun read and I though that the audio was fantastic. This kept me thoroughly entertained during my commute and my dog walks and kept me wanting to listen to more! I would absolutely pick up the next installment in this Deep Dish Mysteries Series!

Ok… Cozies are what sparked my reading in my 20s. So whenever a new series is out I’m all about them! Plus this is about a pizzeria… in cozies they can be predictable which the scenarios which is why I love picking them up… I’m not talking about the outcome just the … setup..: the death… the sleuthing… and then the whodunnit. Mindy has created a series I’m so excited to hop back into once the second one comes out haha I know calm down Brittney this one isn’t even out yet. I think she did such a great job with the characters and setting which leads to a perfect cozy series!
