I usually love Sam Carringtons books and have read many of her other books in the past, however for some reason I just couldn’t get into the girl into the photo and I found it very hard to read, so sadly I gave up with it.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book which sadly just wasn’t for me however this doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy it as Sam Carrington is a very good author.

Erica is approached by Mercy, a frantic mother brandishing a photograph, in her local supermarket, "have you seen my daughter" Unable to understand why the security guard and shop assistant are so blasé and uncaring towards her, Erica embarks on trying to help Mercy. But Erica has her own issues, namely her relationship with her husband Jamie and their struggles with IVF. But she cannot get over Mercy's anguish, until she discovers some things that make her question everything.
There are some hard hitting issues written about in this novel and it's been empathetically written. As the reader I felt Mercy's emotions and frustrations. I really enjoyed it

A psychological thriller about a missing child and how Erica tries to help a distraught mother find what happened to her child.
Erica works as a freelance writer and spends a lot of time on social media feeds writing about her IVF experience.
Things are not as well as they should be between Erica and her husband Jamie.
Erica’s life starts to unravel when a woman at the local supermarket shows her a picture of a lost child and asks for help in finding her.
Secretly Erica starts meeting Mercy Hamilton to help her find out what happened to her missing child. Erica’s husband tries to stop Erica from getting involved.
Soon Erica starts to feel stalked by Mercy and wonders if Mercy is having an affair with her husband.
I loved the twists and turns as the tension builds. A very creepy story full of secrets. This was about a missing child and family relationships.

Gripping read, loved how this was written and the twists in it.
You could tell there was something not quite right, but it was hard to put your finger on it.

A child is lost and her mother is looking for her. They were in the grocery store, she looked away for only a minute. How could she be gone? Mercy asks everyone. The police can't find her. Only Erica reaches out to help Mercy. Thus begins a strange friendship between Erica and Mercy. Erica's husband wants her to stop seeing Mercy. But Erica needs to find the girl in the photo. Thank you Netgalley and Avon books for an ARC of this psychological thriller with all its twists.

I just struggled to get into this one. I think the twists and turns that came towards the end of the book really saved this one and was the reason it ended up with a 2 star.

I felt as though the writing wasn't for me and that it felt a little too predictable for the most part. Real shame as the plot at the centre of this was actually really original, I just felt that it wasn't really executed in the best way.

Erica Fielding is a woman who is deeply dissatisfied with her lonely life as a freelancer, and in a situation bordering on desperation. Trying to get to grips with her disintegrating marriage to Jamie, who is becoming increasingly distant, and determined to get pregnant through IVF - a journey that she shares on Instagram - Erica is ripe for distraction.

This arrives in the form of Mercy Hamilton, who haunts the supermarket where Erica does her shopping every Friday. Mercy carries a faded photograph of young child, begging shoppers to help her locate her missing daughter, Tia, who disappeared a year ago.

Erica is unable to resist getting involved, and it will cost her dearly. The problem is, there is no record of Tia's birth or abduction and the authorities believe that Mercy may be delusional.

The reader knows from the beginning that there is something strange here, but Erica's suspicion about her husband's possible affair, her unease about her shut-in neighbour, and her efforts to help Mercy combine to create a very readable, if not entirely unpredictable, narrative. I really enjoyed the book.

Wow! My first Sam Carrington book but definitely not my last! Great characters with dark and twisty reveals. This one kept me flipping pages way past my bedtime. Big on the creep factor
Thank you NetGalley, Sam Carrington and Avon Books UK for the opportunity to read and review this book

Thank you NetGalley and Avon a division of HarperCollins Publishers for a copy of "The Girl in the Photo" in exchange for my honest review.

This story was a bit slow to start and then it was hard to follow all the twists and turns it took. The ending was not what one would have been expecting. Erica Fielding is a young wife who is struggling in her marriage and in her IVF journey. She finds a little girl looking for her mommy at Bateman's Supermarket where she shops every Friday and hands her over to Customer Service. Then we meet the character of Mercy Hamilton who insists that her little girl has been kidnapped and no one cares to help her. There are chapters where someone is meeting with a counsellor but until the very end the reader has no idea who is seeing her.

I am sorry to say that I struggled with this book. I found it to be incredibly slow, much too slow for an impatient reader like me The plot was a bit sketchy for me as well ,sorry not a good read for me.

This one was all a little bit too slow for me.. which made it hard to get into. I think alot of it was filler that didn't really need to be there and it couldn't have dropped some bits and added a little bit more omph to it, to give it some more excitement and to make it more immersive and gripping.

Thank you to netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.
My first book by this author, and sadly it wasn't the best in my opinion. A gripping story at times, but it was a very slow burner and took a lot to get in to the detail. Then the end was just quite sudden.
I feel like more could have been said in the story. As much as it's meant to be a gripping thriller, sadly the ending was quite obvious

It took me a long time to get into the book and the storyline was somewhat implausible. The book offered a lot of promise but failed to deliver. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

A very slow burner and I am afraid I soon began to lose interest. Don't get me wrong it was still a good read but not what you would call an edge of your seat thriller. For me it was very predictable and there was nothing in this book to shock or surprise me. I am sure other readers will enjoy it more just not for me.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review.

One Friday, Erica Fielding is doing her weekly shop when she meets a woman called Mercy who claims she is trying to find her daughter. Nobody else seems to want to help her or even believe her, so Erica feels that she must do what she can for the distressed woman. As she begins to meet up with the woman, she starts to question if she is really telling the truth or could there be more to the story...

Wow what a good book, such a gripping and thrilling story with shocking twists and turns. Absolutely loved it!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. This book is a hard one to rate. I felt like there were unclear answers and some of it just seemed too far fetched. I really didn't care for the letter left at the end by the neighbor. It was all just a little too weird for me.

My Review:
Wow!!!!! Mind Blown!!!!! This one left me totally speechless. I knew something was off the entire time but never would I have ever guessed something like that not in a million years. I have to say that this book was the perfect definition of a psychological thriller. It had so many twists and turns. You never knew what direction this one was heading in or what you were in store for next. I have read this author before and she sure does not disappoint. I have enjoyed all the ones I have read. I do have to say though that this was by far my favorite by her so far. In fact, it is going in my top ten favorite books of the year list. I am so excited to read more by this author.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

After receiving the chance to read this Arc I was looking forward to getting stuck in to what sounded like something I'd really enjoy, but I was dissapointed the flow of the story was to slow for me and just didn't live up to my expectations. I've enjoyed the authors earlier books so even though I could'nt get into this one I'd definitely read any future books.
Thanks to Netgalley and Avon Books for the ARC.

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books for this ARC which I was sorry I didn't enjoy it more

A psychological mystery of a missing child.
This was a twisty slow burn, I did unfortunately skim through the first 20%.
I understand and sympathize very much with the grief that one of the characters goes through but I did find it very predictable and continued on hoping for a different outcome that didn’t happen. It was a miss for me, but I can see how others may be drawn to the suspense.
