This was quite a page turner. From the very beginning I was completely hooked because I was so intrigued by the dynamic between the exes. It was such a unique trope and I had so much fun following the drama that unfolded. I really wasn't sure who could be trusted so I had a hard time trusting anybody. I think the ending reveal was brilliant, but do wish that the character involved was a little bit more heavily featured so it had a more dramatic effect when revealed. Overall, I really enjoyed this. I found it to move very quickly and it kept me on the edge of my seat. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

A great thriller - I would recommend it! Always good!!
The Family Home is an amazing murder mystery that I did not want to put down, I cannot wait to read more books by this author.
Wow. I loved this book. I enjoyed the mystery. The twists and turns were totally unexpected. I hope to see more from this author. Especially if their other work is anything like this one.
A physcological thriller that made my skin crawl and I may have screamed out loud. Imagine finding a body in your bed. It gave me the chills but it really was a well written book.
“Two can keep a secret when one of them is dead.” When there are more, things can get complicated. Lillian and Matthew are the perfect divorced parents. They are excellent at co-parenting Mabel, their six-year-old daughter. Things appear to be picture-perfect until Lillian discovers a dead body in her bed. Let the games begin! Is Lillian a murderer? So many unanswered questions and so many lies. I highly recommend this fast-paced character-driven thriller. It is the epitome of unputdownable and original. “Some mysteries are better left unsolved.” Who would this benefit is this highly addictive page-turner? Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for my copy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest review.
The family home, had me hooked from the beginning. Being introduced to all the mail players made me feel an instant connection, especially to Lillian and Matthew – I was instantly captivated and in awe of how they managed life after the breakdown of their marriage – they were perfect, until something unexpected muddied the water, not just for them but the whole town.
It didn’t take long before those in their inner circle tried to reason with them, stop them from being invested in the other.
Before long I found it hard to know who to trust, I felt like the story was leading me to accuse the ones I had come to trust, like I didn’t want to think that way but I also didn’t see any other option.
INSERT TWIST!!! Shock, horror!! This was worse than I thought!
INSERT TWIST.2 – shut the front door, did I just read that correctly? Should I go back and check again?
I mean I think it’s safe to say, this was one ending I really couldn’t have predicted. I was blindsided in the best possible way.
Absolutely incredible read.
The Family Home is a true murder mystery for sure!!!
This very twisty, edgy, sit on the edge of your seat tale of murder, secrets, relationships and lies will keep you intrigued until the very end.
You will not want to put it down!
Jaw dropping and gripping! Miranda Smith delivers quite a few twists and turns in The Family Home. Secrets and lies galore ebb and flow throughout this book that had me captivated and glued to the pages!
📚 Book Review 📚 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Family Home by Miranda Smith
Gripping……Utterly GRIPPING!!! 🫣
Told from dual POV, we start off this rollercoaster with Lillian waking up from a night drinking to her finding a dead man in her apartment! Instead of calling the police first, she calls her ex husband Matthew because not only do they share the apartment, they also share a secret that can destroy their lives. Who is the man covered in blood, who killed him and why? Do you really trust your ex when your life is in jeopardy?
You can’t ask for a better gripping psychological book! The first chapter sucks you and and I literally said out loud “holy smokes” because I thought I knew it all and I HAD NO IDEA….now THAT is what makes a good book! This was my first but certainly not my last book by Miranda Smith!
A great read
Hooked from the start
You will not want to put this book down
Plenty of twists and turns
Thanks NetGalley
Loved this book. It definately had me guessing who the bad guy was.. It could have been anyone. Secrets and lies all through this one.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book - a great story & well written. I felt empathy for the characters & appreciated their flaws. Although a psychological thriller this was still a story about family life, what happens after divorce and relationships. Recommended!
I’m a sucker for different povs and timelines so right off the bat I was hooked! The amicable divorce story always has me guessing that I know what has / will happen but this one kept me on my toes. I read it in one sitting! I wish I saw a little more of their individual personalities rather than just the codependency that seems odd to me. But overall a great read!!! Thank you !
Wow! Miranda Smith’s The Family Home is a dark, clever and compulsively readable thriller that will make every single hair on the back of your neck stand on end!
Lilian wakes up one day in her apartment with a splitting headache. She doesn’t know how she got into this state or how she managed to make her way back to her apartment. All she knows is that she wants to get to her bedroom, shut the world away and sleep off the pain that is addling her body. Only, when she switches on the light in her bedroom she gets the shock of her life: there’s a dead man in her bed whom she immediately recognises.
Other than Lilian, her ex-husband Matthew is the only one with the key to her apartment and she knows that her former spouse would never kill anyone and he would certainly never hide the dead body in her house. Just how did the victim get into her bed? They had gone on a couple of dates together, but it had never developed into anything serious. Unable to call the police, Lilan doesn’t know which way to turn. Is she being set up? Or could there be further shocks and surprises in store for her?
Her ex-husband is the only person in her corner. But knowing their history and the dark secrets that bind them together, should she put all her trust in him? Can they defeat whoever is hellbent on destroying them? Or will past lies end up destroying Lilian and Matthew forever?
Miranda Smith’s The Family Home is domestic noir at its most chilling. Deliciously twisty, heart-stoppingly tense and absolutely terrifying, The Family Home is a book that will have readers on the edge of their seats and biting their nails to their elbows as they find themselves completely gripped by this first class thriller.
Perfect for Shari Lapena and Ruth Ware fans, The Family Home is the latest unmissable page-turner by Miranda Smith.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
This book started off strong and kept on going. I enjoy Miranda Smiths books this one did not disappoint and kept me wondering throughout.
The story of Lillian and Matthew. They thought they had the perfect marriage until one night something horrible happened. This book is full of secrets, mystery, murder, suspense, and a surprise ending! Told from both characters’ points of view, who are both unreliable narrators, The Family Home will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I will be looking forward to more books by this author.
This is a very gripping read , what a page turner.. I couldn’t put it down with all the suspense and twists and turns throughout. The characters were great, the plot was excellent and the style of writing was perfect. I have read many books by this author and enjoyed every one of them. I would recommend this to anyone who likes reading psychological thrillers.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.
The Family Home by Miranda Smith is a twisty page-turner that hooked me from the very start.
Lillian and Matthew are no longer together but continue to share a home for the benefit of giving some stability to their young daughter. It soon becomes apparent, though, that there is more to this amicable arrangement than meets the eye. When Lillian finds the body of a man in her bed, one with whom she has shared several dates, secrets will emerge, and no one appears worthy of trust.
Miranda Smith can always be relied upon for a compelling read that will keep you up late, and this one is no exception.
Many thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC.
Another thriller with many twists and turns. This author never disappoints and keeps me on the edge of my seat. I was fooled once again. This book will not disappoint.
