Wow wow wow! Let me just say I was blown away by the twists in this book!!!! I have a habit of guessing the plot twist way too early and ummm let me just say……Don’t try! You will be wrong! Also spoiler there is several jaw dropping twists. This book is a must read for anyone who loves a good twist and a good story line. I will say that at times I was angry with main character but then sad and feeling absolutely destroyed like I was going through her pain the very next second! This is a book that gets you so drawn into the story that when you finish it you will feel like you are the dang narrator! Pick it up grab a blanket and be prepared for some ups and downs with a mom who quite literally will stop at nothing to get her baby back!

Imagine your child being abducted, and you are too scared to tell the police. What if your own secret past has come back to haunt you and your family? Thrilling read, will read more in future.

You're daughter has been taken and you know why and who. This is a twisty and multi layered physcological thriller that will have you guessing until the very end.

This book is a parents worse nightmare come true. Laura's daughter gets kidnapped and get a call from an unknown number. When the kidnapper reveals details to Laura things from her past come back up in conversation. This was a fast-paced thriller with a lot of twists and turns. I had some predictions that I was able to figure out and some that I was not. I would for sure recommend this to anyone looking for a fast-paced thriller.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of The Perfect Mother by Matthew Farrell from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I love a good psychological thriller that hooks you from the first page and this book does absolutely that. You will find yourself holding your breath waiting to see what happens next. This book kept me guessing until the very end and even then I was still wrong! I highly recommend this book!

This was a gripping read and huge kudos to Matthew Farrell for writing such an exciting, page-turning book. Each chapter was written with an adrenaline-fueled, pulse-pounding moment (or in several of the chapters, multiple pulse-pounding moments). Well done!

Absolutely ludicrous/implausible/over-the-top in all the right ways. I like a by-the-book procedural as much as the next half-feral gal, but I really love a wild thriller.

When Laura answers a call from an unknown number, her worst nightmares are about to be realized. This book was a little nuts in the very best of ways. I love books with short chapters, being a busy mom, so that was a huge positive for me. Wonderfully thrilling. Packed with twists. An addictive, superbly crafted tale. Absolutely brilliant. I could not put this one down.

This book took me by surprise and it toes the line between right and wrong. Farrell did a great job creating characters who you wanted to follow and a story that was compelling all the way through.

This book is fast paced from beginning to end! It starts out with Laura receiving a call telling her that her daughter has been kidnapped and that she needs to drive hours away to a tiny lakeside town if she has any chance of saving her. They seem to think she is someone else, but as the story continues, more background emerges and the storylines converge.

Laura does not make especially good decisions but she is also smart and scrappy and will stop at nothing to save her daughter. There are a couple good twists in the book that has the reader questioning whether she is a reliable narrator. The pacing of the book is extremely quick with the action literally starting on the first page. When all was said and done I felt kind of sad about how it all worked out but in a way that will ensure the book sticks with me.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and I’d recommend it to those who like thrillers. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, this story really hit the ground running. There was no faffing about giving us a background, that would come as the story progressed. From the very first line I raced through the book as if I was keeping pace with Laura on her deadline. The synopsis promised twists and boy oh boy did the author deliver. I didn't know whether I was on my head or my heels and the shocks kept coming. I noticed that the author has no back catalogue listed and all I can say is that if this is his first book he has one heck of a career ahead of him.

This story had me on the edge of my seat, I could not stop reading. The story is fast paced, as far as thrillers go this is now one of my favorites, I look forward to reading more Matthew Farrell books!

Wow! What have I just read? This is a book I was attracted to by the synopsis, curious by the cover and completely captivated by.

Farrell is a new author for me and one who has most certainly delivered. This one is one that I thought I would start before bed- only to be kept up far too late. This is a brilliant book. It’s one you feel as though you are watching play out.

Farrell has transported me to the ages with this one. I definitely think this is screen worthy. My pulse has raced as I’ve read this, the tension oozes from the page. I found myself craving the information to try to predict where this was going.

We witness so many secrets unravel in this one. Are the characters really who they say they are? This is a book filled with twists and turns. The plot is perfectly paced, filled with action and is completely impossible to put down.

I have been left a little speechless. This is an author who has instantly gone on the must read list. I have been blown away by this book. I absolutely will be recommending this book to everyone.

This is a fast paced, edge of your seat thriller about a mother who will stop at nothing to get her kidnapped daughter back. It is intense and emotional, with quite a few twists and turns you'll never see coming. Such a fun read!

The story will get you hooked right from the beginning. It tells the story of Laura whose past made her run away to start a new life. Her husband and daughter know nothing of what she did and that she is hiding from something so bad.. Only when her daughter is being held hostage will her past come back to haunt her. She will stop at nothing to get her daughter back and is soon pushed to her limits. Can she find her daughter fast as time is running out.
I loved this book from start to finish and would highl;y recommend it.

The Perfect Mother is the first book I have read by Matthew Farrell, but I will watch for more. Laura Anderson is on her way home from an event at her church when she gets a call on a burner phone in her car. Nelle, her fifteen year old daughter, has been kidnapped. She must follow the instructions given if she wants to save her daughter. The kidnapper insists in calling her Betty, but she insists they have the wrong person. As the story progresses, Laura finally admits she is Betty, but what did she do that made this man want revenge. Secrets, lies and new identities all come to the forefront of this thriller.

This book had me quickly flipping the pages to see what was going on. There were flashbacks to an earlier time where we get clues to what happened and why Laura, her mother and Nelle are in the position they are in. My heart hurt for Nelle, this innocent child that had become a pawn in the plot to get revenge. Laura's mother, who has dementia, was one who made me teary to see what she was going through. I really liked Laura, at first, but as the story unfolded, my feelings changed. She was definitely a mama bear trying to protect her daughter, but was it all her fault? I had an inkling about what had happened and why Laura's family was being threatened, but I was not prepared for the final twists. If you enjoy a thriller with several twists that will have your jaw dropping, then I recommend you pick up The Perfect Mother.

I really liked this book! The swiftness, with which it was written makes it very easy to read and quite hard to put down. What I particularly loved about it, was the way we switched between POV’s and timelines. That gave the story way more tension: I wanted to scream at detective Estrada to hurry up and explain what was going on the whole time, but obviously, and sadly, I couldn’t. That being said: I liked the suspense in this one a lot, there were quite some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and it was different from a lot of thrillers I have read up until now.

The ending was my favourite part of the book! So many twists and turns that kept me hooked until the very last line. I recommend this one!

It's hard to understand how Matthew Farrell s mind works but what he puts on paper will keep you up all night. The good, the bad and the ugly with twists that keep you guessing. Thank you for another great read.
