I absolutely LOVE Senator Gowdy. His entire life approach is cautiously optimistic and encourages hard work. I found myself highlighting a lot from this book.
I always worry when I read a book by an individual who is known for their politics that they will end up pushing their particular personal politics hard. (Exception being if the book I’m reading is about politics, then I expect it. And I do read books from time to time on politics from people on both sides of the aisle. Politics can be an interesting subject but I honestly can only take it in small, infrequent doses, lol) Well, if you have a similar concern, let me free you of any worry right from the start that you need not be concerned about that here. (Sure, Trey uses examples in his life, but he’s not overtly pushing a political agenda here, whether it would be one you’d agree with or not.) It’s a book that is focused on how we should go about getting clarity on our situations and making decisions in our lives. And honestly I wish I had read or been given this sort of advice much earlier in my life. While I never made the decisions Trey made in his life, I was faced with similar decisions…and you know what, I have no doubt if you look back on the decisions you‘ve made in your life, you’ll see you did to. You see while the particular decisions made are different, of course, the types of decisions being discussed in the book are universal. As is Trey’s advice on how to go about making those decisions. I found this to be quick, entertaining, and educational read. Well worth my time. Thanks so much to Crown Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me access to an eARC of Start, Stay, or Leave.

Love the common sense approach to life decisions. I enjoyed learning more about the author's life as he shared thought provocative questions. Readers are encouraged to follow their own dreams after carefully choosing their options. Interesting, practical and enjoyable.
