Rebecca Hayes has a busy life raising her daughter and building her career. She has amazing people helping her and she is especially grateful for her best friend Jackson. When Rebecca and Jackson step over the line of friendship, both their lives are about the change. Rebecca is the steady one, the reliable one while Jackson is easy going and does not like commitment. He wants to ride the waves with no attachments. They are complete opposites, but they do say opposites attract. Can Jackson step up to support Rebecca or will he head for the ocean?
Phoebe Mills is one of my new favourite authors. Her series The Sunshine Corner, has been a delight to read. The characters are witty, genuine and heartwarming. I loved Rebecca and Jacksons story of best friends testing the waters of a different kind of relationship. I also enjoyed catching up with the characters of the first too books. Thanks so much to Forever Publishing for the kind gift of the book of which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Stop by Sunshine Corner friends, you will love it.
πΊπππππππ πΆπππ ππ πΊπππππππ πͺπππππ was the perfect addition to the ππͺπ£π¨πππ£π πΎπ€π§π£ππ§ series. While this book can be read as a standalone, it is the third book in the series. If you love sweet small-town romances, this series would be perfect for you. In πΊπππππππ πΆπππ ππ πΊπππππππ πͺπππππ we head back to Heartβs Hope Bay where we find single-mom Becca who is so busy loving and raising her daughter Sofia that she forgets that she needs someone to love her too. Her best friend since her school days, Jackson, has always been there for her, but only as a friend. One unforgettable night will change both of their lives forever. β β I absolutely loved Becca and Jackson. Who doesnβt want the FMC to fall for the hunky surfer?!? I loved their progression from friends to lovers. It was well-written and felt very real. The issues that Becca and Jackson faced were very relatable and their emotions seemed natural. This book was a fun, easy read and the perfect addition to any romance loverβs shelf. I highly recommend this one!
I have really enjoyed all the books in The Sunshine Corner series, but Jackson and Rebecca's story is my favorite!
Friends to more is one of my favorite tropes and Phoebe Mills did an excellent job with it. After one night together Rebecca and Jackson's friendship is forever changed. They had great chemistry and I thought their relationship development was nicely paced. There was just enough drama to keep things interesting and good character development as well.
This could be read as a standalone, but the whole series is wonderful.
I like a good small town romance. I loved the set up of this one. Single mom is going out for just one night and has a one night stand with her best guy friend. Her one night of fun leads to a surprise baby. The growth that was presented for both characters was really good. I liked the cast of characters a lot. I struggled with the extra casual dialogue and (it's a me thing) the edge toward rougher humor. I was so excited for a little bit of steam in this book and was almost jarred by the sharp closing of the door in the initial ONS scene as well. It went from on the way to something steamy to 6 weeks later in one turn of the page.
I really struggled with this one. I feel like the relationship wasnβt developed as much as I would have liked. I wanted more scenes of them together building their friendship into something more, rather than being told it happened and a pregnancy forcing them together. It just felt rushed and not as organic as I expected
This is book 3 in The Sunshine Corner Series, but can be read as a standalone. Becca Hayes is a single mother with a full time job in finance. Her daughter's father chose to move home instead of sticking around. Although he supports Sofia, Becca relies on herself to make a life and a home for them. She has her friends whom we've met in books 1 and 2 as well as Jackson Lowe her best friend. Once upon a time they both had feelings for each other but taking the risk to try out something more was too great. Except for that one night after her cousin's wedding. Birth control isn't 100% effective. It pained me to read how Jackson's father treated him as a lackadaisical, no responsibility son. Jackson has always marched to the beat of his own drum. He liked working on the landscaping crew and hanging out with them after work, but Daddy Lowe thought otherwise. Jackson's happy-go-lucky personality gave Becca pause, but she did not come without her own daddy issues. I'll let you discover for yourself how they get their HEA.
This characters featured in this book round out the cast of characters in the series. We get to visit with the previously featured characters, learn a little more about their lives and how they've fared, and experience their interactions with each other. Reading this book and this series is like getting a breath of fresh air!
I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.
Starting Over In Sunshine Corner is the third book in the Sunshine Cove series, and like the two previous books, this one can also be read as a stand alone.
Becca is a single mom, fierce protector ntonher family and friends, and she always has to have a plan. Her life growing up was really, growing up too fast. Her mother passed away and her dad basically turned into a mean drunk. It forced her brother and Becca to basically run the house. So Becca always felt the need to avoid surprises and always, ALWAYS have a plan.
That is until on a trip to a cousin's wedding in which she has asked her friend Jackson to drive her and her daughter there and to be her plus 1. The trip turns into more than just being her date and for a woman who doesn't like surprises, she is in store for a BIG ONE! π©΅
I loved this book, in fact I have loved this whole series. It's fun, sweet, living and beautiful! 4β
Thank you to NetGalley, Forever Books,.and Phoebe Mills for the eARC/ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was a super cute story. I loved the friends to lovers trope especially because they were really best friends and it was basically seamless. I also really loved how good Jackson was with Becca's daughter, Sofia. I'm such a sucker for a great guy with kids.
Almost all of this book centered around pregnancy and/or babies so if those are triggers I'd avoid this one, but it was really adorable watching Jackson learn about the baby.
I also liked watching Jackson grow as a professional as well. It was nice to see him find his place in that area.
This book reads well as a standalone.
I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This was so much fun to read! I enjoyed seeing some of the characters from A Wedding on Sunshine Corner. This is a series. I did not read the first one ( might go back to do that ), but each one can stand alone. I actually liked this more than the second one.
I like the friends to lover trope. It is one of my favorites, especially when the friendship is from when they were young. This one had a few little conflicts, but the couple kept communicating so they could work it - I like that. It frustrates me when I want to yell at the book " just talk to each other" - there was not any of that in this book.
I would like to read more of Phoebe Mills books. She is easy to read and has great characters that feel real.
Jackson's dad and his friends think it's time for him to grow up. And Becca's looking to date for the first time since she became a single mom. They have been best friends since high school but never more. Until that one night...
This is a friends-to-lovers romance meets surprise baby (that's not really a surprise because it's in the synopsis and there's a crib on the cover). I loved Jackson so much and wished others could see his great heart better. I found Becca harder to connect with, in part because of her lack of faith in Jackson.
I loved being back in Heart's Hope Bay on the Oregon Coast and seeing all of the couples and friends from the previous books in the series. That is a huge part of why I love series, getting to see after the happily ever after fo previous characters.
But for this book, the pacing was a bit slow. I would have liked to see more character development (not just from Jackson but all of the characters) earlier in the book. When it came, the ending felt rather rushed.
Thank you to Forever for the advanced reader copy. These opinions are my own.
3.5 stars rounded up
This is your typical romance formula. Girl likes boy who's a good friend they both have feelings for each other but never did anything about till .... 2075 stars.

Thank you NetGalley, Phoebe Mills and Forever for the ARC of Starting Over on Sunshine Corner. This is my personal review.
Rebecca is a single mom who is focusing on her life and her daughter Sofia.
Jackson is carefree and enjoys working in the familyβs landscaping business and surfing while being a happy bachelor.
Rebecca and Jackson have been friends for years. The emotion between them is so real and it jumps off the page. I love the way the author makes everyone in the story so real. I have enjoyed this series and getting to know everyone in each book.
This is a series you will enjoy reading.
Starting Over on Sunshine Corner by Phoebe Mills is a sweet small town friends to lovers romance.
Rebecca and Jackson have been best friends since they were young. Rebecca is a single mom of a toddler and Jackson is a laid back fun surfer guy. When he goes as her plus one to her sister's wedding and talks about getting back onto the dating scene, he realizes now might be his chance to admit to the attraction he's always felt but never acted on. The night is a success and 6 weeks later they get an unplanned surprise. Now Jackson has to prove he can step up and be the man and father Rebecca and his child deserves.
This was a cute, easy read. I liked our main characters, but didn't love them. I found that they both had aspects of their personalities that I found off-putting. I love single parents romances so my favorite parts were the times spent between Jackson and Rebecca's daughter. There is a whole lot of pregnant woman in this one, and the amount of new mom/baby advice was slightly exhausting. The romance between Jackson and Rebecca themselves is relatively low steam, with a few off page intimate scenes and very little on page build up beforehand.
Overall Starting Over on Sunshine Corner by Phoebe Mills was a cute small town friends to lovers romance with a pregnancy surprise, surfing, family BBQs, and parental advice.
Becca and Jackson have an unforgettable night. Emotions turn from friendship intolove and the entire story is wonderful to read as the romance unfolds. Wonderful characterization and a well developed plot. A fun read.
This is a terrific series and the banner books keep coming.
Best friends, Becca and Jackson, both secretly in love with each other, spend one carefree night together at during a wedding weekend and are left with a permanent party favor.
Becca needs Jackson, a fly by the seat of his pants surfer dude to step up and be the partner and support she has never had. Will he or will he just ride the waves?
Itβs a good story and both make missteps but nothing true grievous. Readers get updates in the other characters and there are more babies on Hildaβs radar!
Starting Over on Sunshine Corner is the third book in The Sunshine Corner series, but it can easily be read as a standalone.
Becca Hayes is the mother of a four year old little girl and she works full-time at a credit union. She hasn't dated since having her daughter and she's starting to think it's time to get herself back on the horse so to speak.
Jackson Lowe works for his family's landscaping business, but in his early thirties, he still hasn't really found what he wants to do with his life. He loves to surf, spend time with his friends and game. He's the quintessential free spirt.
Becca and Jackson have been best friends for years and when they attend a wedding together, they spend one steamy night together and it results in an unexpected pregnancy. With this new news, Becca is all about creating and maintaining security and stability, while Jackson is trying to figure out what it all means. By all means, he's all in supporting Becca however she needs, but can these two be what one another needs and not just for the sake of their unborn child?
We also get a glimpse into where the couples from the previous books are given their interactions with Becca and Jackson in this one, which is nice. It's always fun to see where former couples are now. I enjoyed this one and look forward to any books that Phoebe Mills has coming in the future.

It was so good to revisit Sunshine Corner again. This book is so good. It's a sweet, closed door romance that was a joy to read. It has just enough tension to keep you turning the pages. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a delightful romance with wonderful characters.
I received a complimentary copy from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Rebecca Hayes best friend is Jackson Lowe. Jackson has really been in love with her since high school. Becca left town for college and has since came home a single mother. Jackson and Becca still spend time together as often as possible. Jackson loves to surf and works as team leader for his dad's lawn business. He seems to be pretty carefree. After going away for a wedding, they spend the night together. Is Jackson ready to settle down and does Becca think he's ready to fatherhood. Jackson has to decide if he wants to take over his father's business find another way to make money.
Starting Over on Sunshine Corner is the newest book in Phoebe Mills The Sunshine Corner series. These are companion novels that you can read apart from each other.
This story follows Jackson and Becca, who have been best friends forever, and although they have, at different times, had feelings for each other, never acted on those feelings⦠until one night. Becca discovers that she is pregnant after one night, but she isn't sure she can count on Jackson. Jackson is a great guy, but he is the fun guy, the guy without responsibilities. What Becca doesn't know is that Jackson has always wanted to build a life and family with Becca. Now that Becca is pregnant, he finds himself wanting to prove that he is the one that Becca needs and worthy of her love.
Though Jackson and Becca are best friends, they are truly opposites. Becca thrives on routine and dependability, whereas Jackson seems to go by the seat of his pants and believes that everything will work out. I thought they really did well to play off of each other's differences and it really showed how opposites could really attract. Jackson was truly the guy we wanted when pregnant. He was understanding, kind and helped around the house. He was so wonderful with Becca's daughter (from a previous relationship) and really took responsibility in the situation.
This was a touching romance, that was sexy, but closed door. The characters from previous books make appearances and it is nice to continue seeing these characters grow and develop. The characters are likeable and I enjoyed reading from both their pespectives.
This book, like the previous in this series, has a lot of focus on babies and children. If this is not something you enjoy in your romances, you should probably skip these books. I also thought this book would have done well with some divisions of time. I found that some chapters had multiple weeks (and sometimes months) pass and it took me some time to actually figure out where we were at.
I thought this books was a quick, light, easy read. If you are a fan of babies, a swoony man and closed door romances, this is the book (and series) for you. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever publishing for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.
A charming and delightful romance. Some misty moments. Great couple. Several interesting characters. Another enjoyable time spent in Sunshine Corner. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
