This book is a great way to explore Cuba under Fidel Castro, especially for young people. Cumba’s story is emotional to say the least, and readers will benefit from the opportunity to find empathy on immigrants. I loved this book, and I will be recommending it to young readers, especially boys. There aren’t enough books out there for boys.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.
Wow! This book was so beautiful! I feel like I've read another story with the same topic, and I'd like to keep reading about it. Following Cumba and seeing his language struggles and how he missed his family felt so personal to me. The ending was so nice though I did feel like my heart was in my throat, wondering what would happen.
Me encanta aprender más sobre el país de mi mamá a través de la historias de otros, de biografías y autobiografías, y encontrar una escrita para más jóvenes es fantástico. Desde ahora, soy fan de esta autora.
