This collection was super fun. I grew up with R.L. Stine books and I still love the stories. These were great short stories that were reminiscent of the classic Goosebumps books. Its a great listen for younger kids but definitely holds up as an adult as well. The narrators were awesome. They added a lot to the stories. I also absolutely loved that Stine popped into the beginning of each story to explain the inspiration for it. Hearing the stories from his own life and how he twisted his own experiences into stories was super cool and it made me want to think about things more creatively . If you love the nostalgia of R.L. Stine stories from childhood or you have kids that love spooky little stories I highly recommend this collection.

Thanks to Netgalley and MacMillan for this ARC.

Stinetinglers: All New Stories by the Master of Scary Tales is exactly that. An all new collection of spooky tales from the master of Horror for Young Readers, R.L. Stine. I'm sure you know him and if you are like me, you may love him. You may have loads of nostalgia for those classic Goosebumps stories.

I was so stoked when I heard the news that he had a new collection releasing, just in time for Autumn, featuring 10-new spooky tales. I listened to the audiobook for this and had an absolute blast with it. It's fairly short, coming in at just over 5-hours, and it kept me completely engaged from start-to-finish.

The narration was so expressive and captivating. I thought numerous times how much fun this one would be to listen to on a family road trip. I also really enjoyed how, as an introduction to each story, R.L. Stine wrote a bit about his inspiration and motivations for writing each story. This aspect reminded me of The Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King.

Personally, I feel like having that extra insight from the author on a short-story collection makes it even more memorable and in a way, personal.

Overall, I had a blast with this collection. I flew through it and honestly enjoyed every story. It's a great example of Stine's style and fulfilled all my nostalgia needs.

Thank you to the publisher, Macmillan Audio, for providing me with a copy to read and review. Stinetinglers is fun for the whole family this Spooky Season!

R.L. Stine delivers a Goosebumps for a new generation. Stinetinglers is a collection of short horror stories for a middle grade audience. One of the things I loved about these stories are the endings -- they're open ended but you're left assuming that it doesn't go well for our main character.

Out of all these stories, only one had a female MC. I wish there were a few more about girls. That one story also happened to be my favorite of the bunch.

These were really fun Goosebump-esque stories. They were all very short (10 stories in 224 pages) and I wish that there had been less stories and they had been longer. Every time I felt like I had just gotten a grasp of the characters, the story would be over and we jumped into another one.\
Overall though, they were enjoyable. They were all very Stine. A super creepy premise, but the writing itself was not too creepy since it's aimed for a younger audience. Then a very open ending, where what happened to one character may start happening to another, or an everything is not quite what it seems type of thing.
My favorite part of this book was that before each story, Stine himself gives a little bit of a narrated introduction which was really fun!
Definitely one to check out if you are a Stine fan, and definitely a good one to read as we get into spooky season!

I've enjoyed the Scares of R.L. Stine for decades. His newest collection of ten stories starring middle-graders, SPINETINGLERS, is no exception. Each story is good, and I'm not ashamed to say some turned me inside out. And I read in the daytime!

I was pleased with the Audio version also: the narrators are great at summoning mood (Including the frights!) and making each tale vivid.
