Thank you so much for an advanced copy of Hex You!

I was very excited to read the conclusion to this trilogy! Taken as a whole, the three books flow together really nicely. I enjoyed that the series was cohesive and that everything wrapped up pretty nicely in this book. Not perfectly, but in a satisfactory way! The characters were interesting, and I liked them for the most part.
My main issue with this book is, well, it's a little boring. I was disappointed that the series as a whole lacked a punch, really. This book particularly felt like it dragged. It was a nice conclusion to the series, but probably not one I'll pick up again or even keep on my shelves TBH.
I'm glad I read the series' conclusion, and again, I'm happy to know how everything wrapped up...I just felt like this book was lacking a bit on the engagement end of the plot/story.

I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this book. Before starting it I read book 1 and enjoyed it. Book 2 was not available and had a very long wait list so I skipped it. I liked the blurb of this book and wanted to give it a go! Comments on this book mentioned it was better than books one and two so I was very happy.
This has the twin witches again. With the death of their mom, they are gate guardians, now. (I must have missed something big in book 2.)
In book one, the twins had very different natures. One was very nice, the other not so much. Now both are Mean Girls. I really lost what attraction for the nice one really fast.
There was lots of action, a confusing plot, unlikable characters, and a rushed ending. I think I liked book one so much better.
I was really wanting to enjoy this book! But I am thankful for the chance to try.
Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC!
I loved these authors ever since I read the House of Night series and while I did enjoy this book, it felt lacking. Maybe because it's definitely YA and I don't really relate to YA as much anymore. I did like the story, world building, and it was an enjoyable fantasy read, I think I'm just aging out of the targeted audience!
Hex You picks up right where Omens Bite left off with Mercy stuck in the Egyptian underworld and the sisters continuing their fight against Amphitrite.
If you’ve read the rest of the series or any of other PC & Kristin’s other books you’ll be familiar with their very particular modern tone/writing style, and the writing and storytelling vibe for Hex You stays true to that style.
I was glad to see Hunter and Mercy reconciling and finding their way back to each other in this final book of the series. The second book had so much conflict between them so it was great to see them work things out. Xena continues to be hilarious as a cat/human and Khenti being introduced to the modern world is also amusing and gives a lighter side to the darker, heavier elements of the story.
Hex You wraps up the Sisters of Salem series and ties up the various story threads but still feels like it leaves it open for a potential spinoff, maybe? I would be interested to see what happens with Mercy in the Egyptian underworld especially…
Mercy and Hunter are now the protectors of the Gates since their mother was murdered by a demon. These gates lead to different underworlds where creatures of legend and mythology are real. When Mercy and Khenti get trapped in the Ancient Egyptian Underworld, Hunter must determine what needs to be done to get them out. Of course, one catastrophe is not enough. Amphitrite has not been completely defeated and she plans to get revenge on Hunter. Since Hunter is stretched thin with too many magical attacks, the Gates are no longer keeping the creatures at bay. Will Hunter save her twin and the residents of Goodeville? What sacrifices will need to be made along the way?
Hex You is the third book in the Sisters of Salem series. This supernatural novel takes off quickly and does not spend a lot of time rehashing events from the previous books (thank goodness), yet I had no problem following along and quickly remembered who everyone was. This is not a very long book so the twists and turns came regularly and the characters were varied, yet relatable. I believe this is supposed to be a trilogy (and this part of the story is complete), but I can see Cast and Cast creating more stories in this world they created.
This is all things spooky with a side of mythology. If you love a good spooky season read this one is for you,
was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review by Netgalley & St Martins Press. I really enjoyed the ending to this trilogy!
I have really enjoyed the Sisters of Salem trilogy! This was action packed and I felt how life or death this book was! It kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens with the Goode sisters. Xena remains my favourite character! She is such a sassy feline! I devoured this in one day!
Mercy is stuck in the underworld and her twin sister, Hunter, needs to get her and her friend Khenti out. After Hunter gets them out they find not only are the tree gates still sick but the town has now turned against them. How can they fix both things and put everything right again even their own relationships before everything is lost and the twins driven out of the only home they have ever known?
This book was surprising in more than one way but still an action packed and very suspenseful book. This book will have you hanging on the edge of your seat until the very end. This is a great story and I know it is the end of the trilogy but I sure hope we hear more from this cast of friends.
If I were younger I may have liked these more but they are very YA and the main characters aren’t my favorite and hard to relate to as an adult. It made me cry several times though. I definitely wasn’t expecting the ending and will be suggesting to my younger cousin!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this novel. I encourage you to check this one out! Really solid read.
Hex You is a worthy sequel to the first two books - which was really necessary because the last book was a little lacking in the plot and weight of the story. I am interested in the missing pieces of the story and I hope we end up getting those later because as of right now it really makes me feel meh about the story. It felt like there was too much missing.
This was just okay for me. I requested this book because it sounded intriguing and I love to read about witches, monsters and other halloween themes in the Fall.
I know I am not the demographic for this book so I tried to keep that in mind while reading but the writing, while good, felt immature and forced. The characters were unlikeable and I struggled to stay interested.
Hex You by P. C. Cast & Kristin Cast is book 3 in the Sisters of Salem trilogy!
I don't think I've enjoyed a series as much as I've loved this amazing set!
The Cast's have been a favorite of mine since A House of Night Set and since then I've read anything and everything they have written.
But this... These are phenomenal.
The twin witch sister's Mercy and Hunter have been an absolute joy to follow.
They are what drew me and kept me transfixed.
An engaging, fun and magical paranormal YA fantasy.
I inhaled it! It's beautifully written and utterly compelling.
The writing is just phenomenal as always.
Well-written, paced wonderfully with twists and turns that are beyond amazing.
A book full of magic, mystery, spells and charm.
I'm sad to see it end. But I'm so thankful for the opportunity to have read these three books!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
What a conclusion!!! So much happens here with our sisters doing all they can to not only fix the trees/gates, but also figure out what is going on in town. While the end was kind of sad, I’m glad that a certain relationship will continue to blossom, and I hope that another character will live a long happy life now that they’re no longer immortal. I was a bit disappointed that the gods/goddesses didn’t see fit to return said immortality but it is what it is I suppose. Overall this was a fantastic ending to the story.

I would like to thank the publisher, Wednesday Books, for providing me with an ARC.
This is the final book in the Sisters of Salem trilogy. I will admit that I enjoyed the first couple of books. However, this last one left me lost and confused. I felt that this was just a bridge and left over from the second book. It did not feel like a finale. I don’t know, but it was just missing something in order to make it feel like it was the last book. I don’t know other than to say that the overall finale felt weak.
This one picks right up from where the last book left off. We are following our characters as they battle to take down a villain and overcome all of the difficulties that come along with being a witch. New characters and new plots are still being given to us. Normally, I would have been okay with these, but it felt like we were still adding to the overall story rather than trying to round things down. I know that there are other series out there that do this, but I felt that it did not work here. With these books being so short, there really is not enough time to justify adding to the story. In order for all of this to work, the book needed to be longer.
I have loved Mercy and Huter up until this point. However, I found them to be very unlikable. I didn’t like the way they treated people who had been there for them right from the start. They talk down to their friends, preach to them, and all of the characters just go along with it. Whenever the other characters try to speak up, they are just belittled. I got tired of the all-knowing attitude that the twins had. I have nothing against smart or wise characters, but the way that the twins presented themselves was a turn off.
The writing was okay. It is childish and immature, but that has never bothered me. It does what is needed to tell the story. Sometimes I do like the lighter writing and tone because it makes the book go by quicker. Not only that, but it adds a fun element to it. I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but I do. Sometimes you do want a little lighter.
Overall, I was just disappointed by this last book. I did enjoy the first two though.
This book comes out on January 31, 2023.
I struggled with the first 2 books in the series and was hoping the third and final would have been the best but truly it did not grip me enough. The series overall was good not fantastic but a comfortable read. I would say give it a try.
I thought this would be a fun read to dive into but I found it hard to get into. It lacked the depth I usually need to immerse myself in a story. The plot of the MC rescuing her sister didn’t feel like anything new. Nothing in the story made it stand out from others with similar plots. I was hoping to find a new series but I couldn’t connect with the characters. Definitely an interesting story but I guess I’m not the target. Still would tell others to check it out and see if they like it.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.
My head just can’t get around what happened? It was so surprising. I like being surprised. I am left with questions like will there be a book about what happened in the underworld? Does Khenti visit Mercy like he does his mother? There are just so many thoughts in my head about the story, like stars in the night sky. Punny right? Does Hunter have more adventures? It can’t end here.
You need to read this book.
This was a great ending to a great series. The Goode sisters must do everything too save the trees and now their hometown. Things go from bad to worse when an evil goddess wants revenge. Hunter & Mercy are characters you won’t forget. This was a great story and the end was bittersweet. I really didn’t want the book too end lol. Great story with unforgettable characters.
I was given this book by the publisher and Net Galley. I was lucky enough that I read the entire trilogy. I had high hopes for this book especially since it's the last one in the series. It however, doesn't feel like a finale. The plot seems to drag on from the second book when there was so much more that could've been done. Other trees and underworlds would've been the preferred focus for me but that didn't happen. A missed opportunity.
The blind direction the twins have is astounding. And it's amazing that they don't realize what horrible friends/sisters they are. They treat a lot of others in the town as less then. Old plot themes are forgotten and some small foreshadowing moments in previous books and this one, just don't get explored.
People have complained about the writing style and I have to be honest while they felt it got better I actually feel it got worse.
Overall I feel that this book as an end to a series is a disappointment.
