Another delight from Trish Doller! This could be read as a stand-alone, but the characters from Float Plan and The Suite Spot do make appearances. I loved Carla and Eamon's adventures and her growth towards making lasting connections and showing vulnerability. This was also a bit steamier than the first two books. Definitely recommend!
After loving Float Plan and enjoying The Suite Spot, I went into this with a certain set of expectations... and it took less than two chapters to shatter them to pieces, lol. It's not that the story was "bad," but a major part of the charm of the first two books in the series is the heartfelt slow burn and emotional build. This couple begins banging within a few pages, and it was just total whiplash for me. Try as I might, I couldn't seem to get into the story after that, and I wasn't the biggest fan of either character or their instalove. We don't know a whole lot about Eamon, and Carla was not the most relatable character. Having them go off adventuring while completely ignoring their responsibilities for the wedding was not particularly endearing, and the book never recovered from its early woes for me.
The story follows Carla, a woman who loves to see new places and try new things. She's currently traveling to a wedding, and one of the other guests was supposed to help her get there. But Carla and Eamon have an instant connection, and it's not long before they're changing their plans. What starts as a fling and some fun adventures soon turns into something more.
What I loved about Float Plan is the unique feel, the emotional journey, and the vivid travel descriptions. This does have all of those things, it just did them a little differently. There's a complete tonal shift and a lot more spice in this one, which felt jarring in an established series. It's not what I read Doller's books for, and it's not what I wanted. Unfortunately, I had disconnected completely by the halfway point, and found myself doing a lot of skimming. When a book is this short and I'm skimming... it's not a great sign. That said, I think there's definitely an audience for it. This is actually one instance where it might be better NOT to have read the other books in the series first. That way you can go in without the same set of expectations. Ultimately, it was a disappointing read for me.
This book is written well. I liked the characters. It jumped into the sizzle a little fast for my taste. I didn't even have much of a sense of the characters and their chemistry before they were already in bed together. I liked the camping aspect but then I closed the book to do other things and I haven't felt compelled to pick it up again.
I didn't dislike it, but I guess it just isn't the right time for me to read this book.
Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC.
This was my first Trish Doller novel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main characters were so fun to read about together and I was genuinely invested in their story. I will look for more of Doller's work in the future!
This was my third Trish Doller book and she keeps getting better ! I loved all three of them, all manage to deal with heavy topics in a romance being real while not loosing the light touch, not an easy feat.
While it is part of a series, Off The Map can easily be read as a standalone. Of thethree books this one was the most escapist, all the destinations mentioned, off road and off the beaten path travels and the funny (and steamy!) shenanigans along the way. The main characters had great chemistry and the Irish settings added to the romantic atmosphere in my mind. The story was a nice balance of tender, coming-of-age, self-exploratory, funny and steamy. Family duties and expectations are a recurring theme and each oft he characters needs to find their own way to balance those expectations with their own ideas for a life well lived. I definitely recommend the series and will be reading whatever Trish Doller writes next!
I adore Trish Doller's writing style and have loved that each of her books has a little tie in to characters from others allowing us to better see where some of our favorites are ending up. Off the Map takes on a whole new feel moving abroad to Ireland and the imagery is still top notch as well as my deep desire to move abroad. Doller's characters truly fly off the page and I can't recommend this enough!
Ahh! I loved this and cannot wait to read the next book. Trish Doller gives me some
Major wanderlust while reading her books.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy. I had not read the other beck sister series before this one but I don’t think it’s necessary. It’s a standalone with characters from the other books. Carla is a wanderlust type on her way to Ireland for her best friends wedding. The best man is assigned to pick her up but they have instant chemistry and decide to wander Ireland a bit before heading to the festivities. It’s meant to be a fling but evolves into more quickly. Carla always listened to biggie her dad but now she is following her heart. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4
I really enjoy reading Trish Doller I love that she always gives her book a little more substance with her romance. We aren't just given a happy ever after, her characters have to put in work within themselves to gain their happiness and I really enjoying reading how they get there. I can always find a little piece of me in her characters. I truly look forward to reading her next book or series.
Holy Cow, y'all! I could not wait to write this review and share this book with you. I absolutely and unequivocally love this book. It may be one of my all time favorites. The book is Off the Map by Trish Doller. I have not read anything by her before but, I'll be keeping my eye peeled for more of her books. This book was phenomenal.
Like most of you, I read the synopsis of the book and thought I would give it a try. Sounded like a cute little book. Cute is not the word for this book. It is so much more that the synopsis tells you about. In fact, it doesn't even scratch the surface. I am not going to be able to tell you a lot about this book because I don't want to give away any spoilers. Plus, I want you to get the full effect of what happens as it happens.
Off the Map has many laugh out loud moments. It has many moments that will surprise you, shock you and make you go back and read it again to someone else in the room. I also found myself crying that big old ugly cry. So, make sure you have tissues handy when you sit down to read. You'll be mopping tears of joy and sorrow.
This book has love scenes in it that will make you curl your toes. Now, I don't think they were out of context and I was not offended by them. I don't know what that says about me but, they weren't nasty. Pure sweet love.
I loved the characters in this book and they are very well developed. If they aren't, they still have something about them that makes you want to know more about them. They are either quirky, loving, helpful, funny. I don't think there was one character that I didn't like. Well, one that was never there. You'll understand when you read the book.
I would love to rate this book a 10. It is that good! I'm definitely in a book coma. You must consider putting Off the Map by Trish Doller on your "must read" list. Until next time…Happy Reading.

2.5 stars. Disappointing except for the ending. I skipped through a good bit of this so I could get to the end. Read to 50% and then skipped to 85%.
I hate insta-love, and this was as insta as they come. They were together within the first two chapters?? That’s so boring?? Where’s the ~flavor, the ~tension? Plus, they both seemed super immature. I did not like how they kept putting off going to their friends wedding. They seemed so selfish and annoying.
The ending was slightly redeemable. I cried and it was emotional and sweet. Overall though, I was not impressed.
This missed several marks for next I don’t think I could’ve been less invested in the outcome of this book, unfortunately. First off, we’re hit with a full blown relationship starting off from the first date that also happens within the first 10% of the book. I don’t think I’ve ever had a book move that fast, which is probably why I never became emotionally invested in the characters.
There was no depth to their characters or to their relationship. The characters were also unlikeable and pretty selfish. The plot also just felt like a bunch of things thrown together with the quickest thrown together ending. The plot felt random and like none of it had any point. I found myself uninterested and a bit bored. This book unfortunately did not do it for me.
Carla Black has been travelling the world on her own in her vintage Jeep Wrangler for nearly a decade, stopping only long enough to replenish her adventure fund. She doesn’t do love and she doesn’t ever go home.
Eamon Sullivan is a modern-day cartographer who creates digital maps. He’s unhappy at work, recently dumped, and his one big dream is stalled out—literally.
Fate throws them together when Carla arrives in Dublin for her best friend’s wedding and Eamon is tasked with picking her up from the airport. But what should be a simple drive across Ireland quickly becomes complicated with chemistry-filled detours, unexpected feelings, and a chance at love - if only they choose it.
This book is number 3 in the Beck Sisters series. Each can be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Carla and Eamon. This story was funny and spicy and heartwarming.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely adored Off the Map by @TrishDoller. Thank you @smpromance for the advance copy. I have read every book in this series, and loved this one just as much. I was immediately swept away into Carla and Eamon's story, their meet-cute, and their adventures and misadventures on their way to Anna and Keane's wedding. Carla was such a dynamic and relatable character. And the perfect catalyst for Eamon. This book had me hankering to get out and travel. Pick up this book if you are looking for a romance with heart, and have your box of tissues ready.
On the road to love, you don't need a GPS...
Carla Black’s life motto is “here for a good time, not for a long time.” She’s been traveling the world on her own in her vintage Jeep Wrangler for nearly a decade, stopping only long enough to replenish her adventure fund. She doesn’t do love and she doesn’t ever go home.
Eamon Sullivan is a modern-day cartographer who creates digital maps. His work helps people find their way, but he’s the one who’s lost his sense of direction.
"Off the Map" by Trish Doller is a fun and touching book that can be read as a standalone, or as the third book in the Beck Sisters series.
This story focuses on Carla Black, a woman with a wanderlust, passed down to her by her single-father who is now suffering from dementia. When Carla arrives in Ireland to be the Maid of Honor at her best friend's wedding, she meets the best man (and brother of the groom) , Easmon.
The physical attraction is immediate but what is even more enjoyable is reading how these two characters, as they travel around Ireland, find connections that help them work through their own individual challenges in a thoughtful and heartfelt way.
I really like this book and would certainly recommend it even if readers have not read the other books in the series.
Thank you Net Galley and St Martin's Griffin for the Arc.
I absolutely loved this charming romcom!
I want to visit the places they went in Ireland based on the amazing descriptions in the book.
Carla is a restless soul, she loves to travel and doesn’t want to settle down. She goes to Ireland for a friend’s wedding, where she meets Eamon, a modern day map maker.
They decide to take a side trip on the way to the wedding, and they have such a wonderful time that they go to a few more places. They make it just in time for the wedding.
As they go to different spots that Eamon always wanted to visit, their attraction grows through the good and the not so good things that happen during travel, like car breakdowns and curious bulls. Traveling brings out the best and the worst in us, and that’s true for Carla and Eamon.
Their journey towards a relationship feels so natural as they go from place to place. I was sorry when this book ended, I wanted more! 5 stars.

Trish Dollar, I was *not* prepared! Readers are met with a perfect balance of adventure, character growth, heartache, love, and some spice.
Carla is filled with wanderlust and is the solo travel extraordinaire. On the way to her best friend’s wedding in Ireland, she meets a man who just might make her question her isolated independence. In the first half I was so enthralled by the adventures and spice that the second half emotional rollercoaster absolutely blindsided me. These characters better each other in the best ways and push each other to their limits of expanding their horizons. This is so much more than a cute romance and is stuffed with relatable issues. Questioning if you’re on the right path? Trying to navigate what you want out of life? Embracing and working through some messy family dynamics? The punches just kept coming.
I can not recommend this book enough. It was absolutely everything I could want in a read and more.
I absolutely loved Trish Doller's first two books in this series, Float Plan and The Suite Spot, and while Off the Map is probably my least favourite of the three, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
This one is much steamier and doesn't have the slow burn romance I loved in the first two but it definitely still has the real life themes with Carla's situation with her dad. And I loved getting a peak into Anna and Keane's future!
Cute story with a fun premise, I read it in one night!
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book.
I absolutely loved this book! Trish Doller has become a must read author for me with writing this series! I fell in love immediately with the main characters and loved getting to see some former favorites as well. The characters and storyline are so relatable as I feel like we all are searching for how we best fit in life, what our work says about us, what is important to us. The adventure and also the characters' hearts just shine on each page and I could not stop reading, but at the same time didn't want the book to end.
