This is the third novel in the Beck Sisters series, and I was super excited to finally get to read it after how much I enjoyed Float Plan and The Suite Spot. Unfortunately, Off the Map fell a little flat for me.

Carla has just arrived in Ireland for her best friend, Anna's, wedding. She's set to meet the best man, Anna's fiancé's brother Eamon to make the trip to their small town from Dublin for the wedding. After an unexpected make out at the bar they planned to meet, the two spiraled into bed shortly after. Instantly connecting, Carla and Eamon decide to take a detour or two on their way up the country, where romance ensues.

Generally speaking, I thought the novel just didn't meet my expectations after how much I enjoyed the first two books. It felt a little too predictable and cliche for me, with the exception of the last part of the book, after the wedding is over.

If I wanted to read the series again, I would still read this. I would just need to make sure my expectations are in check comparatively speaking. I still did shed a tear or two at the very end though, as it touched on some dementia and memory loss, which I can relate to.

All in all, I'd still give this one 3/5 stars. I just wish I could've given it more.

Thank you to Minotaur Books for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. As always, all thoughts expressed are my own.

I listened to this as an audiobook, and I almost never say this but I’m so glad I did. I don’t know if the narrator is American or Irish but I thought she performed the Irish accent so well. I don’t exactly know what I was expecting from the story when I started this, but honestly I expected it to be more sedate; but I love what I got. Tatted up, sexually unrepentant Carla meets sexy Irishman Eamon and sparks fly. This story was probably classed as “instalove” but the kind where the connection is built on a foundation. Loved this one. Need to go back and read the others in the series.

Not my favorite Trish Doller book, but still a very enjoyable read. I like the fact that they are continuing with the same set of characters from the previous novels, but personally I'm ready to move on. I did like the fact that her character was raised by an only father and the fact that she was dealing with parent who's loosing their memory, but in some ways it still felt forced.

My heartstrings are still being pulled in every direction after finishing this novel! I’ve got to be honest, I didn’t realize that this was a series that connected characters until it referenced it a third of the way through the book. However, I can’t wait to get my hands on the second and get all caught up on the Beck sisters!
Off the Map is a travelers dream, especially the first half. I’m jealous of the spontaneity that Carla and Eamon shared and their desire to go wherever the wind takes them. Then you add in the forbidden love, a father battling dementia, and a chance for some true soul searching and man, this novel has it all!
Trish Dollar’s ability to get in touch with the reality of readers everywhere is something that truly keeps me attached to her books and the stories she writes. Now if only I can get my hands on a physical copy to add to my bookshelf…!

I loved this traveling romance and the way the characters interacted so sweetly together. While it is a romantic love story I appreciated the love in Carla's dad's storyline too. Dementia is heartbreaking, but Trish wrote it with dignity and grace and the growth it brought to Carla's character was beautiful to read. I listened to the audiobook and it was fabulously well done. I can't wait to go read her backlist too!

I LOVED this book! In true Trish fashion she had me hooked from the beginning and falling I love with the characters. Their development is deep, especially for a rom-com which I love. The ease of reading is wonderful as we.

This story is told in first person by Carla who never stays in one place too long, traveling the world on adventure after adventure. The love interest is Eamon who has spent his life dreaming of traveling the way Carla does but unable to walk away from his responsible life. When Eamon is volunteered to pick up Carla from the airport to attend her best friend Anna’s wedding to his brother Keane (read book 1, Float Plan, it’s fabulous), he is both fascinated and inspired by Carla’s way of life.

This was the road trip book I was looking for last summer. It’s fun and sexy and Ireland! I love how they connected over issues with their respective families as well as their love and desire to travel and lead a non-traditional style life.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for a copy provided for an honest review.

Trish Doller writes some of my favorite books and while I’ve loved the other two Beck Sister series this was my least favorite. However, it was still amazing!

4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We follow Carla who is Anna’s best friend (from Float Plan) as she heads to Ireland to celebrate Anna’s wedding. Eamon, Anna’s fiancés brother, is suppose to pick her up and take her to the wedding but they hit it off right from the start. What is suppose to be a straight trip to the wedding weekend ends up with lots of detours to fun places with lots of adventures.

The steam in this book is so good and much more than the first two in the series. However, while the sexual tension was there I didn’t feel as fully invested in the romance because of the insta love. Carla and Eamon seemed to fall too fast for each other. Which doesn’t mean they weren’t compatible (they are) it just caused me not to connect as well as I would have wanted.

The Ireland setting and the emotions that happen throughout the book are amazing. And as always Trish does a great job handling grief.

Trish Doller delivers another wonderful book about a strong woman finding the answers to what is missing in her life when she least expects it. I have enjoyed the previous 2 books in this series and this one did not disappoint.

Carla Black has big dreams and loves adventuring throughout the world. She began her adventures at a young age with her father after her mother abandoned them both. They go on big adventures to National Parks and daily adventures to the nearby pier for fishing. No matter if their special adventures take them near or far they always enjoy their time together. Then her father is diagnosed with dementia and he tells her to start adventuring on her own because he doesn't want her to witness his struggles. Because this is what her father wants she packs up her life into her Jeep Wrangler and heads off on her own to see the world. Everything is going well until she goes to Ireland for her best friend's wedding, meets the groom's brother Eamon and realizes that she is done running away.

Carla and Eamon's story seems a bit rushed but their instant chemistry is undeniable. Their story was well written and I could feel their strong emotions through the words on the page.

Overall, this is a quick, heartwarming and sweet book that can easily be read as a stand alone or the perfect next book in the Beck Sisters series. A book that lovers of romance will surely enjoy.

I am extremely grateful to St.Martin's Press and Netgalley for the opportunity to read a digital copy of this lovely book in exchange for an honest review.

Off the Map is another great book by Trish Doller. I appreciate how she writes romances involving grief and real-life issues. Carla spends her life on the road, so she doesn’t need to face the reality of her dad having dementia. He’s one of the most influential people to her, but he asked her not to stop living because of his dementia. Carla travels to Ireland to attend her best friend Anna’s marriage to Keena (from Doller’s first novel in the Beck Sisters series). Carla meets Eamon (Keenan’s oldest brother) on her first day in Ireland. They share a bond and many adventures as they go to the wedding. Some people call this “insta love,” but I think it’s more than that. I enjoyed the romance between Carla and Eamon. The narration was also done well. Thank you, St. Martin’s Griffin and Macmillan Audio, for my gifted copies.

A solid, heartfelt romance with a nice balance of spice! I didn't feel super invested in Carla and Eamon's backgrounds or dynamic but I thought the book was perfect for a quick, easy book to escape into. I did find Carla relatable in her adventurousness and affinity for travel and I loved that Eamon was a cartographer because I love maps, but otherwise, I didn't find their personalities particularly relatable. Still enjoyable the compassion Trish Doller writes with was clear!

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the early copy!

Very very steamy. Not usually a fan of insta- love or insta-lust but it works here because neither are looking for a relationship. Predictable, but good.

RATING: 3/5 STARS

My favorite book in this series was the first one, and my attention unfortunately wavered for the rest. I think I was in the mood for a slow-burn and this one was definitely not that. But Trish Doller's writing is great as always and she tackles deep themes with sensitivity and grace.

Carla wants to do nothing but travel, see the world and keep moving. Eamon wants the same, but feels obligated to a steady, stationary life. When these two people collide at the Irish wedding of the people they love most, they have the time of their lives together (and learn a lot about what they REALLY want out of life).

I loved this book and thought it was incredibly fun and heart-warning. Trish Doller has never done me wrong!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Another amazing book by Trish Doller that covers loss, finding your way, and gives a perfect HEA.

OFF THE MAP was sweet, steamy, hilarious, and completely engaging. I couldn't put it down!

I am a reader who does not ever believe Insta-Love. My very practical brain simply cannot handle it. But did I ever buy into when it came to Carla and Eamon! I am OB.SESSED.

These two are flawed, but so damn lovable. And talk about H-O-T! Were the other books in the series this steamy? Because Carla and Eamon were scorching my kindle. 🔥

And, just like with Float Plan, I absolutely cried while reading OFF THE MAP (very unusual for me). This author perfectly describes the messiness and beauty of grief.

OFF THE MAP is one of those rare books that I know will stay with me. I'll be thinking about all of these characters well beyond writing this review.

Massive bonus points for a heroine with short hair.

Now, stop what you're doing and add this book to your TBR immediately!

A sweet book with a heroine, Carla, who travels the world, seemingly living the dream, but is she running away instead? Eamon is a sweet Irish guy who is responsible for picking up his new sister-in-law to-be's best friend at a pub in Dublin and bring her to Tralee for the wedding. Sounds simple, but as they talk until late they need to postpone the trip until the next day. Carla as a traveler, brings out Eamon's buried desires of his own to travel. So, Carla encourages him and agrees to detours along the way, extending the trip to Tralee by several days. I loved that Carla helped Eamon recognize the changes he needs to make in his own life, while basically running away from hers. Carla's dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and he doesn't want her to witness his decline and she honors his wish. The question is, will she continue to run or face her fears and return home and if she does, what happens to her romance with Eamon. This book ended with me in tears, some happy, some sad. I'll mention this could triggering due to the Alzheimer's.

Thank you to St Martin's Press St Martin's Griffin for sharing this book. My opinions are my own.

Thank you to the author and publisher for this arc!
When Carla returns home for a wedding, she ends up hitching a ride across Ireland with map maker Eamon. Together they face issues from their pasts, and battle the wild elements of the land! Steamy moments and good chemistry, plus humor and fun make up this next book by this author ( I love the last book Float Plan ) and it takes place in a stunning place. Two people with baggage set in a lovely place: Ireland!
I did enjoy this book and just adored the entire setting of it.

Carla's dad instilled in her the love of travel. She's visited hundreds of national parks and many countries all over the world with her dad. This all stops when her dad is diagnosed with dementia and he decides that his days of travelling are over. He also asks Carla not to visit him to spare her the pain of the illness. Carla ends up in Dublin for her best friend, Ana's wedding to Keane. There she meets the best man, Keane's brother, Eamon. Carla and Eamon spend time together on their trip to the wedding location and end up falling in love. Carla isn't used to real relationships and tries to run away but eventually they come back to each other. It was an interesting read and does touch up the grief of a loved one with an illness such as dementia.

Another great read of this romance series. I loved that it takes place in Ireland (and talks of many places there) and also involves previous characters from the series (esp since in involves a wedding). While there is some serious/sad moments, they are balanced out well with funny, sweet and romantic moments.
