OFF THE MAP is the third (and I believe final?) book in this companion series about the Beck sisters. I’ve loooooved this series so far and am happy to report that I really enjoyed this one! It’s my least favorite of the bunch but still very steamy and swoony and wanderlusty.

We follow Anna’s best friend, Carla (so not really a Beck sister), as she is heading to *spoiler for book one* Anna’s wedding in Keane’s home of Ireland. Keane’s brother, Eamon (who we met in the first book) is due to pick her up and bring her to the wedding. Sparks fly between them right away and the night quickly gets away from them in the bar… and then Keane’s apartment.

Carla has been traveling most of her life and avoiding her dad’s dementia diagnosis, and Eamon is dying to break out of his routine and do the same kind of thing. You’d think that would make things easier for them but it doesn’t, of course! The two of them take some detours on the way to the wedding and really enjoy each other’s company. They have really great chemistry and I actually like how quickly they hooked up. It was more unique for a romance book! Not a lot of will-they-won’t-they and sexual tension... they got that part out of the way from the get-go. It was more wondering if and how they could make this fling into something real.

Overall, there was very minimal drama, which I prefer. Lots of family feels toward the end as well! I liked seeing how the two of them interacted and I was hopeful they would find a way to make it work. The book was really quick and short, which is not usually a bad thing, but it could have used a little more oomph? I enjoyed the story, the chemistry, and the romance in general, so I can’t complain too much!

This one was so sweet and SO emotional! It started off with a bang (hehe literally) and was pure adventure from there. The ending seemed a little too perfect even though it was very sad but didn’t feel like it was necessary. Something different could’ve happened and still had the same impact. Overall highly recommend everything by this author if you’re looking for an emotional romcom

Thank you to NetGalley, Trish Doller and St Martin’s Press for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.

I haven’t read anything by this author and I started this one night and read way to late. I got half way through before I could put this down. It’s amazing and the characters are *chefs kiss*. I didn’t want this to end and every moment apart from these characters was too long. I also enjoyed the more accurate portrayal of dementia. You don’t see it often and it affects so many people. Absolutely amazing.

I really liked this book. I haven't read anything by this author before but I found her writing style to be very engaging. I was hooked by the first chapter. I did not realize until I was partway through this title that it was part of a series but that was ok as I was able to understand the story completely without having read book one. This was a light fun read while also dealing with the hard topic of dementia. It was easy to fall in love in love with all of the characters no matter how large or small their part in the story. I am very interested to go back and read book one and see what she has coming out next.

Thanks so much to St Martins Press and Trish Doller for the ARC. I absolutely loved this book. The way Carla and Eamon’s love story was written was beautiful. I am a sucker for stories set in Ireland, England, & Scotland. Definitely looking for to reading more from Trish! I would totally recommend this to anyone who loves a good romance book :)

Off the Map by Trish Doller

Off the Map follows Carla as she arrives in Ireland to attend the wedding of her best friend, Anna. Anna is a free-spirited traveler who never stays in one place very long. Only long enough to continue to travel. She doesn't do relationships and doesn't want to be tied down to anyone/thing/place. Her ride from the airport, Eamon, is the groom's brother. Eamon and Carla hit it off instantly in the Irish pub where they meet up. A direct ride to the wedding turns into a several day adventure through the countryside.

The chemistry and banter between Eamon and Carla was entertaining and realistic. The emotional baggage from their past slowly reveals itself. It is a quick and then slow burn.

Off the Map is the third book in this series with Float Plan and The Suite Spot. Each book can be a standalone, but you fall in love with the characters so easily it is nice to revisit them and get an "update" on where their stories go.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a digital ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Carla Black is in Dublin for her best friend's wedding and when the best man, Eamon Sullivan, picks her up, they quickly pick up on each other's attraction. After a night of mega-conversation and much physical connection in the bedroom, they go off-grid for a few days before the wedding festivities. During their adventures, they start to shed layers of themselves, revealing their strengths, flaws, gripes, and passions.

Eamon comes to terms with his decisions; he's kinda bitter and even jealous of his brother who's fulfilling Eamon's dreams of exploring the world. Meanwhile, Carla, who reminisces about her travels with her father, starts to rethink her decision of leaving him back in the States where he's been cared for during his dementia. While we experience Eamon's frustrations and regrets, we also experience Carla's thrills and adventures but also deep sadness, knowing that her father is not the same man.

There are moments when you can't believe that Eamon and Carla just met but through their quality days spent together, they draw closer as friends. I appreciated the steps and experiences that Eamon and Carla had to go through; even the 3rd act conflict was realistic.

"Off the Map" is pact full of lessons, especially that life is short but it doesn't matter where you are in life; you gotta grab it when you can. If you're slowly starting something that those around you have already succeeded in, stop looking at them. In the words of the author, "You're starting now...That's really all that matters."

This is a worthy book to read - a worthy series in fact. I highly recommend it.

Trish Doller does it again with Off The Map. I loved her other books, as they are a good mix of heartwarming and fun. I’m a huge fan of hers and will happily read any books she’s writes.

Sweet and wholesome.

The characters are perfect and kind. People you would want as your friends.

The grief that she goes through was hard to listen to but man did Dollar ease you through it with Grace.

I absolutely loved the atmospheric scenery and adventure you go on in this book through national forests and different countries and cultures.

This is the third of the Beck Sisters series, and one of my most anticipated of the year. I was so excited to get an eARC from St. Martin's Press Griffin, and I read this a few weeks ago. While it is the third in the series, you don't need to have read the first two to enjoy it. The road trip at the center of the story is absolutely delightful, funny and charming. Having driven through some of Ireland myself, I can attest to the one lane roads and traffic jams by sheep. The chemistry and buildup of Eamon and Carla is well paced as well. It wasn't quite as good as "Float Plan" for me, but I also connected so much with the themes of that one that it influenced my rating. I would still recommend this one though, I enjoyed it more than "The Suite Spot" and found this one has the same level of depth that "Float Plan" has about overcoming one's own struggles before falling in love.

I'll be honest - insta love isn't usually my favorite trope. But I really did love the outdoor adventure and travel aspect of this story. At the very least - it reignited my desire for travel in general! The individual characters were interesting - I appreciated the tie back to the MCs from Float Plan, but this could definitely read as a stand-alone book. I enjoyed the redemption/reconciliation arc for the main female MC with her father and her journey of self-discovery throughout the book. I missed the second book of this series, so I'm definitely going to need to go back and read that one because I do enjoy this author's writing style overall.

Off the Map is a fun and quick read. Carla has spent most of every year of her adult life traveling, ever since her dad was diagnosed with dementia and couldn't go with her anymore. She travels to Ireland for her best friends wedding, and she meets the best man, Eamon. It's insta attraction, and what starts out as a one time hook up turns into them being late for the wedding weekend because they are taking detours all over Ireland on their way.

Eamon has had a string of boring girlfriends, and has a bucket list a mile long. After spending time with Carla, he realizes he can work remotely and he decides to take some time to see the world. And he wants Carla to join him.

Carla doesn't do relationships because she's basically afraid of attachment, and tells him no. She heads home to spend time with her dad, as she realizes that time is limited. While home, she is hit with some hard truths about herself, her dad, and her future.

I'm not a fan of insta attraction, insta love, whatever, but I did enjoy this book. I like how it was connected to her previous books (still need to read Float Plan) but could be a stand alone too. I think rom com fans will love this one.

Off the Map is the conclusion to the Beck Sisters series by Trish Doller. Although its main character, Carla Black, is not part of the Beck family, I appreciate that the author took the time to write this third book and include it alongside Anna and Rachel’s. And, as she mentioned in this last book, family is chosen and it doesn’t count if there’s blood relation in between, so I found this to be a certain link too.

I barely knew anything about Carla from the previous books other than she was Anna’s best friend and they used to work together as waitresses in the town that they previously lived in. And, it was a pleasure to get to know this adventurous being that has lived through so many trips but has come to terms of settling down back in her town in order to spend more time with her father. Eamon Sullivan has been mentioned in the first book as well when he had a brief encounter with Anna and Keane, the last being his brother. And, as it has happened with Carla, it was lovely to get to know him through her eyes and their joined adventures in the first part of the book.

These two meet pretty soon into the story since Eamon is set to meet with Carla in Dublin in order to take a trip through Ireland to get to Anna and Keane’s wedding. But, they seem to establish an instant connection that sets them to take a few trips through the landscapes while exploring each other too. While I have seen some readers saying that they took this connection as insta-love, I didn’t perceive it like that to be honest, and I’m one of those readers that doesn’t like insta-love at all. For me, the romance developed in accordance to what both characters needed in their lives at the time.

Although the second part of the book was more centered on Carla and her character development, which I enjoyed too, I would have liked a few more chapters and maybe an epilogue too in order to say goodbye to this set of characters.

Content warning: parent with dementia, death of a loved one, parental abandonment.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy of Off the Map by Trish Doller. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC.

Of the Map was a sweet, low-conflict story about Carla Black. She spent her life traveling the world with her father until her father is diagnosed with Alzheimer's. While dealing with her father's decline, she meets Eamon. Together, they must decide how to connect their lives when their lifestyles seem to want to keep them apart. While the story was sweet, I did notice the lack of conflict. I felt that Carla's eventual acceptance of her father's disease was well written. But it came at the expense of the romance. I give this book 3/5 stars.

I enjoyed this book so much! It’s a sweet and fun romance filled with adventure but also great emotional explorations. I still haven’t read Float Plan, but I really enjoyed The Suite Spot (book 2). Though this one is my favorite so far.

The story is so smooth and well paced that before you know it, you’ll be reading the last few pages. This book is bound to give you the itch to go out and explore, embrace the great outdoors.

Off the Map is less about Carla and Eamon falling in love, and more about them getting to a place where they can welcome love and relationships in their lives. We start with two messy and flawed characters, both trying to figure out what is important in their lives, what their priorities should be. They jump into bed early on, but the feelings come in slowly, as they get to know each other.

The book definitely does not waste time. Even though I don’t like insta-love, the instant connection these two had, from the very first chapter, didn’t feel out of place, especially since they start off as just a fling. It also helps that Eamon is easy to love, he’s selfless, giving and goes all in on anything he does.

Carla has a badass dad who taught her most of what she knows about how to approach life, especially travel. She has a “here for a good time” philosophy, but doesn’t see that her dad is surrounded by people he loves and has kept close. I found her misgivings about having a relationship very realistic and well explored.

Her dad was awesome, I loved hearing stories about him. He’s almost as big a part of the story as the romance is. He also has Alzheimer’s which is also a big part of the book as throughout the book Carla is mourning the loss of the father she knew, and who knew her.

Thank you to St Martin's Griffin, and NetGalley for the eARC!

This book was SPICY. I am not typically a spicy reader but I actually loved this book. I loved the crazy adventures and the relationship with father and daughter. It was really fun.

I am not a fan of insta-love, and I wish I'd known that's what this would be going into it because I did not enjoy it. I ended up DNF'ing two chapters in because there was no tension (other than sexual tension) between the characters. In my opinion, road trip romances work best with enemies-to-lovers because of the forced proximity, but oh well. Not the book for me.

Carla Black is a traveler at heart, and her heart doesn’t really commit to one place either. Until she meets Eamon and it’s love at first sight. Traveling Ireland, they have a sexy romance. Carla then has to deal with some real-life stuff, while Eamon is trying to decide if he should leave his boring job to travel, a lifelong dream rekindled by meeting Carla.

**NetGalley review**

When I started this, I didn't realize it was part of a "series", but after reading/listening to it, I don't feel like I hindered me from enjoying this one. I love any book that involves Ireland in some capacity, and this one did not disappoint. Biggie's dementia hit a little close to home for me, but I'm glad that he and Carla had their relationship and closure. The ending chapters felt a bit rushed compared to the pacing of the rest of the book, but I loved how it ended. This is my first Doller book and it won't be my last! Thank you to NetGalley, Trish Doller, St. Martin's Press, and Macmillan Audio for the chance to read/listen to this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow. Everything about this book is absolutely lovely. The writing is beautiful, I loved how simplistic and witty it was. The characters are now some of my new best fictional friends. I was really happy with Carla’s development through out the entire story. The relationship between her and Eamon was fast but I liked their banter and found it to be realistic. I think that their relationship arc while an important part of the book for me took a back seat to the story of her and her dad. This book tore me apart and then put me back together again and it will be something that I will carry with me for a long time.
